Check Out These Books
If you have not heard of these series, you should definitely check them out, they are definitely worth it: Falling Kingdoms- Morgan Rhodes The Seven Realms- Cinda Williams Chima Throne of Glass- Sarah J. Maas I would highly recommend these series to people who have a taste for medieval times, with royalty, assassins, fighters, Strong female leads and magic. Of course there is love interest in them and some ships that are really worth it.
I think what I love most about these books are the character growth in them, especially Falling Kingdoms. There are currently 5 books in the Falling Kingdoms series, the sixth coming out this fall. Right now it’s a small Fandom but I’m hoping that we can grow and spread this series out. The first book in this series is called Falling Kingdoms and is focused around four central characters, Princess Cleiona Bellos, Prince Magnus Damora (my personal favorite, though he is an acquired taste at some points), Jonas Agallon, and Princess Lucia Damora. It has been described as Game of Thrones for teenagers, so less rape and sex in general, though there eventually still is some. For a description of this series, click on this link because I’m not sure I could give a good description that brings justice to this series and its characters that is spoilers free. I will say though that I find this series likes to experiment with the natural darkness inside of people. But just beware of that cliffhanger in book 5. I guarantee that if you pursue this series, the ending will either kill you or have you cheering depending on how you feel about a certain character. http://www.fallingkingdoms.com The Throne of Glass I definitely enjoyed the actual writing of the author, and how it was nice and descriptive without it becoming unnecessary embellishments, though at some points I found some information to not be completely as fulfilled as I would have liked it to be. This one definitely shows a full-on dark side to the main character that people don’t usually associate with a hero, though her self-preservation instincts as an assassin occasionally get in the way of some of he choices. Many creatures come to play on this series, some popular to use, some completely new. There are the Fae, though all Fae warriors you see are totally badass, so don’t get the idea of gentle creatures stuck in your head. There are also monsters that will give you the chills, particularly the valg princes, in my opinion. You also get POVs from creatures that could be considered a level of monster. And as a bonus, If you start reading the books now, the first five are already out with the sixth coming soon. The Seven Realms series, the first book called the Demon King is a nice blend of politics, magic introduction and love interest, I thought. This series is about a young princess-heir Raisa ana'Marianna stepping out from her pampered lifestyle to view her people for what they really are, starving, poor, and dying, while her mother the Queen enjoys a lavish lifestyle. The second main character is a sixteen year old poor, reformed thief boy named Han who learns of his important heritage and has to embrace it and ultimately plays a dangerous game of politics to makes his desires his. What I love about this series is the amount of culture and the differences between different groups of people that is expressed through this series. You have the wizards, the vale-folk who are ordinary non-magic folk, and the clan. The difference between these people are quite awesome, as are the differences in their beliefs and how they view each other.. #Falling Kingdoms #Throne of Glass #The Seven Realms #Books to Read #Badass People with Magic
