Boredom hit like a hunger pang after a full day without a meal, though Quentin's only outward reaction was an exaggerated sigh. His gaze cast around the foyer he was standing in, taking not of the unusual emptiness as he waited for the elevator. Considering Fibonacci's compact and downright bustling environment, the lack of prospective passengers sparked interest.

Turning his head to survey the only other person in the queue, Quentin forwent surreptitious glances in favour of an obvious once-over of the brunet. Unfortunately the stranger's appearance was minimally interesting, however that only made his preemptive planning more tempting.

Once the elevator arrived on their floor and opened up to reveal an empty carriage, Quentin walked in first and waited by the button panel as the other man entered behind him. As soon as the doors closed, he turned to the stranger with a cheeky grin and asked, "You ever been to the two-hundred-fiftieth floor?" His eyebrows waggled up and down. "Do you wanna go now?"

「⚖️」 "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, good morning. My name is Aurelius Vane-Tempest, and it is my pleasure to represent the city of Spirale as a prosecutor on this tragic case."

As the din in the gallery died down, the bespectacled blond lawyer read off his opening remarks to both judge and jury.

"On November 15th, 2024, the defendant in this matter, a Mr. Eiden Itadori, was found on the steps of SP*T besides the dead body of Mr. Ron Mann, well-known family man and beloved philanthropist to the community. Mr. Mann was determined to have died from blunt force trauma to the cranial region from a weaponized toy sold on Mr. Itadori's premises."

His voice was smooth and even, carrying no inflection besides the ones needed for dramatic effect. There was a storybook quality to the way he detailed the crime, the collection of the body, and the charges pressed against Eiden afterwards.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a case about a man who could not control his strength, who lost his cool at a crucial moment to commit involuntary manslaughter on the unlucky victim. Despite this, justice must be upheld."

"At the conclusion of the case, and after you have heard all the evidence, we are confident that you will return a verdict of guilty."

Thus finished, the angel prosecutor set down his papers and politely indicated to the judge that the defense could go next.

Today, the case of Eiden Itadori vs. The City of Spirale was formally in session.

In her short time being in the city so far, Mira has figured out one thing for certain. It seemed some of the things she could just, naturally do seemed.. Off. Limited somehow.

While outside along one of the various streets, testing it out, she manages to hop around in the air a little bit, testing the gravity before it just suddenly feels like she just couldn't do it anymore. And she doesn't stick the landing, at all.

Her foot catches a slick patch of ice, feet go sliding out from underneath her and she's letting out a small "mm!!" noise as she goes sliding across the ground and into a pile of snow.

θ The shadows were the safest place for Cyn. If she'd known she'd be stripped of her powers, then she would have tried to revert her appearance back to that of a regular drone to fit in. Her present appearance was enough to startle any human. Not that she wanted to befriend any of them, but it made it difficult to approach them. It was late at night, and Cyn was hidden in a pitch black alleyway, waiting for someone to walk past with her eye lights off as she laid prone. It wasn't until footsteps could be hear that her lights flickered back on, her hands barely visible in the low light that hummed into the alley.

"GOOD. Evening. Have you considered DOnating BLOOD? I hun-GER."

They didn't have Christmas on Copper 9. They had a winter holiday, but it was just about making sure you bought stuff for other people, as JCJensen had reduced the message of goodwill and togetherness down to its bottom-line necessities. But things were a little different here in Spirale, in this city people seemed to be... enjoying each other's company? Weird. But even if it was weird, Uzi kind of wanted to see what it would feel like to participate. But she wouldn't, like, enjoy it or anything!

There are throngs of people running around and shouting Mermaid Cove Mall, which is pretty in-line with Uzi's understanding of Christmas shopping. They're shouting about catching snowflakes or whatever. She's not in such a rush, but it is making it a little harder to get around, especially when she's so far below most peoples' line of sight. So it's no surprise when someone slams into her from the side, sending her to the ground.

"What th- Frickin' watch where you're going, you dumbass!" she shouts, shaking her fist at the retreating person. "Frickin' humans. If those roombas weren't all such damn cowards and followed me out of that store before they asked me to leave..."

It's only her pride that's hurt, as there's no way a simple fall can damage her chassis. But humans continue to dash this way and that with no regard for her just trying to get to her feet, and even as Uzi rises up, she gets knocked back down again. Maybe killing all humans actually isn't a terrible idea?

Finally, the space around her seems to clear a bit, and she looks up again to see a familiar, brown-haired person. At least she's already frowning so her face can't fall any further. "Oh, it's you," she says to Eiden. "You come to knock me down too? Try it, I know where you live!"

It's not a surprise he's right - most people have something they could chalk up to terrifying visions - but it is good to see he's hit the nail on the head so well! His eye turns upwards and into a smile.

"IF YOU WANNA GET BLUNT ABOUT IT, SURE! I'VE BEEN SPYING ON EVERYONE FOR LONGER THAN YOU'VE BEEN KICKING. THAT JUST COMES WITH THE TERRITORY OF HAVING INFINITE KNOWLEDGE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!"

🔵 "Why'd you let that guy walk all over you?" Ranma'd had the displeasure of watching a brief altercation as one man bumped into another and started yelling at the smaller guy. If Ranma had been in his shoes in that instance, then he definitely would have thrown a punch.

"Looked to me like he was in the wrong, not you. And you probably could've taken him. He was a little bigger than you, but it was obvious he's never actually fought anyone. Even I could've taken him."

Worrying about her circumstances wouldn't change anything. The last time she had been on this island had been... tolerable, so Nier felt no need to concern herself overmuch. She would pass the time as she usually did.

The huge library in Cotes was unfamiliar to her, or did she just forget? Her previous time here felt like a dream within a dream, a haze that was difficult to focus on. So again, why concern herself? It was easier to simply... wait and see.

"Pardon me..." The young man had an unassuming face, but for some reason... Nier didn't feel he was a threat like she sometimes did with men.

"Do you know where the romance stories are? It's been so long since I've been here, and I think they moved everything... I can't even find a librarian."

Morning dawns.

In a certain boy's bedroom at the Itadori House, a suspicious lump lies beneath the bedding. As the weak rays of winter sun warms into something richer, the bump in the blanket rises and falls in regular intervals with every breath of its occupant.

Beneath the quilts, an incubator is sleeping.

｢𓆄｣ "Yeah, the music is great and bumping and all!" Hawks clearly had better things on the mind than dancing to some loud block party music, arms full of various japanese street foods gave that much away. "You should definitely give some of this a try!"

He's been camping out this area for a while now. Yes, the vision was brief, and it passed without much fuss, but he worries. From what he can make out, it definitely involved.. someone. What that could mean, he isn't sure. He's never been in a place like this, so truly anything could happen - and that's enough to encourage him to stay where he is, curious to see what it could entail. Or maybe he'll be able to properly step in this time and make something right instead of just stating the wrong.

He has a pretty good guess, when this stranger passes by with a hot drink and a few items too many items piled in his arms, that this might be who it was about. He'd also said that to himself the last two that passed by, but he's going with it.

"You should be careful with what you're holding, there - you could knock it all over, and ruin your day like that."

🐦‍🔥 "Oh, so you own this shop? How rare to see such a young entrepreneur." Surely he wasn't that young. Likely around Jinhsi's age if she was to estimate, but it still felt a little younger than most business owners she knew. An early snow had fallen, with only about an inch on the ground, but the young man had been shoveling outside of his shop.

"There are easier ways to deal with snow, you know." As Changli demonstrated by pointing a hand at the ground. Several small fireballs were fired off, not only melting the snow but turning it into steam so it wouldn't refreeze and make the ground slippery. "Well, so long as you control the temperature enough to not char the ground underneath."

When faced with a mysterious path of flowers, what choice does Sonic have but to follow? It turns out to be a good decision as it leads him to a cliff absolutely teeming with similarly beautiful flora.

"Woah..."

He bends over to pick up a flower, sniffing it. Smells nice. It's peaceful. Makes him feel like he's back home.

Then the sound of furious scribbling breaks that peace. Makes it kinda hard to lay back and relax. Sonic takes a gander around.

There. A lone person sits closer, but no dangerously so, to the edge. Curiosity overtakes the hedgehog as he quietly walks closer, careful not to crush the flowers beneath his shoes. Sonic peeks over their shoulder to get a good look at the sketchbook...

hmm... that necklace is mighty fishy...

a sparkly, radiant, powerful-looking gem... that can only mean one thing. the hedgehog isn't wasting any time with introductions-- this could be a huge breakthrough if he's on the right track!

"that must be your world's version of a chaos emerald!" they've never seen a human capable of harnessing that sort of energy before. this guy must be really special. "are there any others? do you have a super form? wait, it's rainbow-y, so maybe a hyper form?" a pause to reel himself in, beaming in determination, "can i give it a try?"

"I've never seen anything like them before." She admits as she strokes one of the netpups. The way they bark reminds her of dogs, but....Dogs didn't look like machines with machine-heads, right?

"What are they called? They're very cute."

✦✧ "I've got it!" It had all happened so fast. A man had been walking by and had tripped, his phone sent flying as a result. It would have already been a problem if it had hit the ground, but that outcome was averted thanks to Coco. She'd activated her sylph shoes reflexively and shot across the sidewalk while floating just inches above it.

And she managed to catch it! "OW!?" Before flying directly into a bush.

"I'm okay!" She was still in the bush though!
