It was easier to look at the painting and enjoy the beauty of it rather than focus on what they should be discussing. She wasn't sure how much of Isadora's words comforted her, but a part of her felt like they should. "I think a lot of people would have made a decision if given the chance." They both knew what she meant, and she didn't feel the need to say it outloud. "It doesn't make you wonder who's making some piss poor attempt to pull strings?"

To many, he’s a ghost, a phantom… whilst others believe he doesn’t exist and is actually a front for a maze of companies and consortiums. Truth is, he does exist and he’s a KISS fan! KISS are hired by Cho to play a private party and from there, Cho’s obsession takes center stage and it’s the fight of the band’s life!    I don’t know what it is about these arcs but I cannot wait to see KISS on stands!  They are too far and too few inbetween for me but hey once it gets here I’m excited like a kid in a candy store.  Ian does such a magnificent job with the introduction to the story here too and he knows how to get things started and keep the pace at this race car driver clip that you don’t even notice how fast you're getting through the issue.  Of this course this means that we want more immediately and with that cliffhanger ending oh heck yeah man that’s proper stuff right there.    I am loving the way that this is being told.  The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well how the reader learns information is presented exceptionally well.  The character development that we see through the dialogue, the character interaction as well as how they act and react to the situations and circumstances which they encounter is magnificently rendered.  The pacing here is superb and as it takes us through the pages introducing the characters, their world and this story we’re captivated by what could be happening.  There is a freshness to this that I’ve not seen before and I have to say it’s incredibly intriguing to say the least.    I appreciate the way that we see this being structured and how the layers within the story emerge and grow.  With the mysterious happenings and the opening and not to mention finally seeing the aforementioned recluse these layers add so much depth, dimension and complexity to the story.  The way we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward is impeccably achieved.  There is so much tension happening within these pages and it's absolutely delicious.    The interiors here are really something.  The linework we see is amazing and the way that the varying weights and techniques are being utilised to create this much detail in the work we see is amazing.  I’m also loving the way that the linework creates dimension and depth when it comes to creating the body’s anatomy.  When backgrounds are utilised they are great at enhancing and expanding the moment though I’d like to see more of them.  Still how we see the depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the story beautifully.  The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a stupendous eye for storytelling.  The colour work is beautifully rendered.  How we see the various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work is rendered exceedingly well. ​    This is an amazing book and how we see everything take shape so quickly has this amazingly natural feel to it that impresses the heck out of me.  Nothing feels rushed or left out, it has everything we need to know about the situation and as the story continues we’ll see more and more of the motivations and plans but at the moment it is all perfectly placed.  This is what I love about comics and storytelling in general.  With such masterful writing and characterisation and some amazing interior artwork it is incredibly easy to caught up in this story so quickly.

Creative Game Award 2018 – Submissions are open until 31 July

Since 2007 the initiative Creative Gaming organizes the PLAY – Creative Gaming Festival annually. PLAY is the world’s first and unique festival that combines media art, discourse and education with the culture of digital games. Now we are entering the hot phase: Submissions for the Creative Gaming Award 2018 are open, which is honoring Europe’s most creative games again. All the information you need can be found here.

The PLAY – Creative Gaming Festival takes place from 01-04 November 2018 in Hamburg. On the penultimate day of the event, the 03 November 2018, the Creative Gaming Award comes back! Submit your creative games, prototypes and playful media from 15 June until 31 July. Click here for more information and the submission form. The prize is awarded in two categories:

Most Creative Game

This category focuses on experienced developers, who have already published a few games in their past. The award is endowed with 1500€. Further, the nominated developers will be invited to participate at the festival, and their games will be exhibited at PLAY.

Most Innovative Newcomer

There is also a chance for young developers and newcomers. This prize is endowed with 500€, also the winning team will receive a one-year-sponsorship by experienced developers, who will support them throughout the year. In this category prototypes as well as alpha and beta versions can be submitted.

“The Creative Gaming Award is aimed at indie developers,”explains Valentina Birke, curator of the exhibition and coordinator of the Creative Gaming Award. “The focus will be on particularly innovative game ideas that give gamers the opportunity to interact with the game in a creative way. This can be demonstrated by special gameplay, transmediality, new ways of interaction, essential graphic innovations, new interfaces, unknown atmospheres, visual breakthroughs or new themes that the game deals with. We are looking forward to new, innovative and creative submissions!”

The call for submissions ends on 31 July 2018. An international jury of experts will once again select the winners this year. Winners of the last years include Keyboard Sports by developer Triband, FRU by Through Games and Among the Sleep by Krillbite Studios, all winners of the Most Creative Game award. Winners of the second category include games such as FAR: Lone Sails by Mr Whale’s Game Service and Mixtvisions, Tell Me What You See by Pesky Bees, and a project by Austrian students called Lucid.

The Creative Gaming Award 2018 will take place on 03 November 2018.

Isadora often found the roll of eyes a distasteful way to express one's reaction, but the urge to do exactly the same when Val's attention shifted was too strong to resist. Sometimes she wondered if maybe they were too alike in many ways. With eyes flicking towards the painting that had Val's attention, she answered. "I don't find any of it odd, dear. I think it was long planned to happen exactly that way, which means poor old Giovanni Moretti must have had it coming for him for a long time. Don't you?" She tilted her hair and looked back at the other woman.

Val's eyes rolled, and she looked at Isadora with an unamused expression. "I don't believe it's a threat, but I do see it as something we need to at least discuss." She took another sip of her glass and moved to look at another piece of art. "You don't find it odd that someone managed to call seemingly everyone with the same sort of message? And the timing? It is weird, Isadora."

Isadora wasn't the type to ever pass down on the opportunity of visiting the art gallery, even if it wasn't her territory and it was rarely an invitation to talk business. It was always an excuse to observe some art, though. Having been in and out, she knew her ways around the hallways and into the back rooms where she knew was Valentina's office. She took her time, however, strolling through the empty rooms and taking in all the beauty around her without all the hustle of visitors who knew nothing about art. "I did." Isadora nodded. She'd let the call be transferred to her voicemail, however, instead of picking it up right away. Studying Val's face for a moment, she let out a sigh. "Don't tell me you actually believe this empty threat."

Meeting at the art gallery wasn't Val's first choice, but she had to admit it did make it easier to continue working on a few things for The Society while she waited for Isadora to show up. She strolled through the empty room and stopped to take in a few of the pieces. There were one or two she could be inclined to take for herself, but her own needs weren't what she was thinking about at the moment. She lifted the chilled glass of wine to her lips before turning when she heard the door. "Is it safe to assume you got a call too?"
