weight shifted from one foot to the other, having been caught in the spot she'd claimed as her own. from here, she had a good view into the living room of who she'd decided was her next victim, while keeping herself deep inside the shadow. this was the tedious bit –– learning the routine, so she knew when best she'd be able to strike. but she'd been interrupted.

"i'm just looking for an address." a bad explanation as to why she was practically peering into this home on a dark night. but to some people, it might be enough. she'd found that people could be satisfied with the simplest of lies, at times. she had a feeling though that this time it might not be the case. "i think i might be in the wrong place, though." another brush off, figuring that perhaps she might be able to just leave, and come back another time. "i'm new to town, guess i took a wrong turn."

"hmm?" it took florence a moment to realise that the words had been spoken in her direction –– she wasn't used to people just talking to her. she didn't stick around in any one place long enough for her to build any real relationships, of any kind, and she'd only been in this stop for a couple of days. she was just drifting, taking some time trying to figure out her next move.

"i'm sorry, i was in a world of my own." she brushed it off with a laugh. she might be content with being a stranger to most people, but her southern roots would be damned if she ever was a rude stranger to anyone. smile tugged at her lips, a mask she'd become ever used to wearing, especially to those she didn't know. "did you ask me something? or am i in your way?"
