who: Mark Sloan ( @bcttcrthanrcvcnge )
where: Naporia General Hospital
Jackson suddenly woke up from his sudden nap, in the Attending's lounge, due to the sound of the door closing shut. He quickly sat up straighter, seeing Mark stood staring at him. It had been a while since his mentor had shown up on the island, giving everyone a shock. Jackson still felt like he was getting used to the older male being alive again. "I wasn't napping," Jackson protested before Mark could even say anything, now standing up. "I was just resting my eyes."

"You did, when you taught me everything you knew and then went and left me," while Mark's death had been hard on Jackson, he was thankful that they were able to joke about it now. In a way it was almost healing for the surgeon. "Yeah, yeah, don't start getting sappy at me. It just felt right to honour two people who meant so much to all of us on the board." Jackson took the tablet off Mark as he quickly scanned through the charts. "Did you even get us an intern? Or were you expecting me to play that role for you?"
"I'll believe that when I see it," Mark retorted, chuckling, "Who decided that?" he asked, raising an eyebrow while speaking in a teasing tone to show he was only kidding. "I hear you are the thank for the hospital being named after me, at least one good thing came out of it," he continued to tease in his usual way, "Fine. Show me what you got," he said, stopping outside the patient's room and handing him the chart.

As an attending now, Jackson had done many different surgeries all on his own, yet somehow being back with Mark made him feel like a resident again. Every surgery he scrubbed in on felt like a privilege once again. As Mark's teasing, Jackson just pulled a face, "you might find, I'm better than what you last remember." It had only been a few years, but the surgeon had massively improved. "Don't forget that after you died I basically ran the hospital, how about you let me take the lead on this case and I can show you."
"Facial reconstruction," Mark said, "A tumour was taken out and it changed the structure so we're rebuilding it for him today," he explained. It was not that different from one of the first cases he had worked in Seattle but this time, the tumour removal had been successful, "I want to see if you're still any good having been without my mentorship," he joked.

Jackson simply went quiet, it had been crazy how easily the two had fallen back into the dynamic they had before. Jackson saw Mark as a friend, but he was still the boss. "Yes, okay," Jackson quickly sprung into action, grabbing his white coat as he followed Mark out of the attending's lounge. "So, what is it this time?" Jackson questioned with excitement, hoping it was something he hadn't seen before.
"Uh huh, sure, Avery," Mark replied doubtfully as he gestured for him to get up. He was glad to see that Jackson had done something with his life after he had passed and made a name for himself outside of his own family. However, that didn't mean he was going to stop acting like his mentor, "Come on, get up. We have a case."
