✦ as an alchemist, you’d expect ALBEDO to always be in a white lab coat stained with all manner of chemicals, but he’s the opposite – he’s always dressed to the nines in formalwear, with his trademark coat layered on top of it to keep him from freezing in dragonspine. he only ever removes it when he’s visiting you in mondstadt. in the quiet of your peaceful apartment, albedo will be busy preparing dinner, and you feel like a starving victorian man when you see him roll his sleeves up, exposing the rare sight of his pale wrists. his fingers are long and slender too, but there’s something about the way the white fabric of his dress shirts clings to his forearms, emphasising his lean muscle and making you wonder if you’re drooling. you’re pretty sure he’s caught you staring way too many times, but he always just gives you a soft smile – he can’t understand why you’d admire him like this when you’re the one he’s always believed to be a masterpiece.

✦ dating DAINSLEIF is a quiet affair. he’s not one for over-the-top gestures or grand proclamations of his love, but he never fails to make it known that he absolutely adores you with his whole heart. between the two of you, you’re the one who always talks more, always chattering away endlessly about your latest fancy. but no matter what you’re prattling on about, dainsleif will always tilt his head and gaze at you as if you’re giving a speech on the most interesting topic in the world. he’ll even have a small smile gracing his lips, his usually stern expression now softening into one far more gentle. he’ll even nod and ask all the right questions, proving that he was paying attention the entire time. and if you ever feel guilty for talking so much, he’ll instantly reassure you that your voice is music to his ears, and if he could he’d listen to it forever. 

✦ some days, it’s like GOROU can’t even believe he’s dating you. he’s just so adorable, getting incredibly flustered whenever you even breathe in his direction. his face turns bright red and he starts stumbling over his words, barely able to string together words into coherent sentences. or if by some miracle he manages to keep his composure, his tail is a dead giveaway – it’ll be wagging at the speed of light whenever you praise him. you could be doing the most mundane tasks like laundry or washing dishes, and he’d still look at you with heart eyes as if you hung the very stars in the sky. 

✦ without a doubt, ITTO has no clue how attractive he is. once you move in together, he’ll just always walk around shirtless, even though you squeal in surprise whenever you see him. i mean c’mon, who could blame you? the oni is ripped thanks to all the hours he spends at the gym, and when you see his muscles flexing, showing off the gleaming red tattoos illustrated across his back and torso, you have to excuse yourself because you swear you’re seriously about to start barking. to make things worse, he always pairs it with those stupid baggy grey sweatpants that make you actually want to pounce on him – it’s always a struggle to keep your eyes on his face. you’re beginning to think he knows the effect though, because you always end up in the bedroom together when he wears them. 

✦ KAZUHA is the type of boyfriend who adores casual skinship. wherever you are, he’ll always find some way to touch you – whether it’s an arm wrapped around your waist, his head leaning on your shoulder, his fingers intertwined with yours… the list is endless. but his absolute favourite has to be when you wear shorts. one of his hands somehow always ends up on your thigh, his thumb rubbing circles into your skin. it isn’t necessarily heated, it’s just comforting for him to know you’re there beside him. but you’re aware of his intentions whenever he starts doing it under the table in public, merely tilting his head to give you a playful smirk and a wink that’s imperceptible to anyone else.

✦ everybody knows that SCARAMOUCHE is a brat. that doesn’t change when he somehow becomes your boyfriend. he likes pushing your buttons, always wondering when you’re going to tip over the edge. even just simple requests will prompt him to reply ‘“oh yeah?” “make me.” “mhmm.”’ and it drives you up the wall. not just because it’s annoying, but also because it’s strangely attractive to see the way he raises his eyebrow and leans back in his seat, a smug smirk playing about his lips. but fear not, the easiest way to get him to behave is just by grabbing his collar and pulling him into a kiss. he’ll be so surprised that he’ll instantly go do whatever you told him to just so that you don’t see his blushing face.

✦ it’s 100% a green flag when men are willing to explain things to you instead of assuming you wouldn’t be able to grasp the concept, and TIGHNARI is a shining example of this. as the chief of the forest rangers, he’s extremely well-versed on everything related to sumeru’s jungles, and this extends to skills outside of foraging, as he’s also talented at cooking and preparing medicines. if you’re curious or eager to learn, he’ll always explain it to you in a way that makes it easy for you to understand, and even if you don’t, he’s very patient, and will answer every single one of your questions no matter how dumb you may think they are until you get it. seeing the proud smile on his face once you successfully achieve whatever he taught you is more than enough incentive for you to rush to learn even more from your beloved boyfriend.

✦ ZHONGLI is the type of lover that comes once in a millenia (which is probably how long he’s been alive too). he’s the whole package; sweet, caring, smart, not to mention handsome! (the only problem is that he’s constantly broke…) you’re lucky to have him as your boyfriend, and the first time you realised this was when the two of you were walking through a busy crowd in liyue’s bustling harbour while trying to run some errands. upon sensing your discomfort at how the strangers were unintentionally jostling you and bumping into the two of you, ZHONGLI wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him to put more space between you and everyone else walking past. once the crowd thins out, he’ll guide you with his hand on the small of your back, the warmth a gentle reminder that he’ll always be there for you.

How to reach your higher self according to Esoteric Astrology 💻💗

First of all, why the Sun? Contrary to what modern astrology may present, in Esoteric Astrology the sun is meant to be tamed, not necessarily boosted. The sun represents the personality, the 3D self conditioned by opinions, narratives, and constructs created by other people.

Aries sun 🍵- Since Aries in esoteric astrology is seen as the rule setter, the creator of conditions, and also breaking that, in order to reach your highest potential you have to transcend the past versions of yourself. Transcending the versions of you that were created out of fear and survival is the utmost important. Aries also represents duality by the horns, the depiction of Aries is a bull or ram. This duality of Aries is spirit and physical matter. Aries can easily find themselves frustrated with the spiritual world and physical world, navigating and struggling to balance the two can cause a separation from the higher self. For example, following what others think vs. the intuition. Doing something different than what the norm thinks. Aries is also a sign of death, even if it’s exalted in traditional astrology. It’s important for Aries to allow themselves to experience ego deaths. The reason being is this: Aries is also described as experiencing a purification process through fire, their personalty (ego) burning to the ashes to see the way ahead of them. The purification signifies the end of narratives, false perceptions, and constraints created by society.

Leo ☕️- The representation and experience of us in a non physical form. To get closer to your higher self, let go of the physical world and the burdens attached to your energy. Experience yourself as greater than your physical form, and capable of more than just physicality. The sun plays three roles. Corona (what we see of the sun physically in the world) the heart of the sun (develops heart and soul) and lastly the Core which sustains our higher development. When Leos look away from inner work is when they can struggle to get closer to their higher selves. It’s important they continue shadow work to actually shine, as no light can exist without shadow. Leos have a vast life experience as well, and their heart and soul are meant to transcend in this lifetime. They are much more than their fears and anxieties, and past. Shadow work is Leos key to their higher self. As deeply as Leos can get attached to their ego, they can go very deep into connecting with consciousness. Leos have to maintain their individuality aside the masses. Its important to their connection with their higher selves, maintaining boundaries, self worth & value. Leos are represented by the Lion-essentially an Empress. Lastly, Leo reached The Child state. The free, individualistic, and pure soul. Pure regardless of others, regardless of their past, regardless of their fears. They remain true to themselves everytime.

Sagittarius ⌛️- What is important to Sagittarius is connecting with their intuition. A lot of us know the bow and arrow is famous for representing this sign, but sometimes there is a Doe at the side of the warrior. That Doe represents the seed of intuition, the subconscious, and the receiver. To get closer to your higher self get comfortable with receiving messages from your intuition, trusting your inner compass, and the path even if there are unknowns. Sagittarius can block out intuition to remain focused on the physical realm, and this leads to a blockage within themselves. So it’s important in this lifetime they allow themselves to feel safe enough to listen to themselves. Sagittarius benefits from having clear goals on what they want to focus on spiritually to grow, for example, meditation to help access their inner child once a week. Once they have their eyes set on what they need to heal, Sagittarius opens the doorway for greater awareness. Its also important they keep seeing opportunities for healing within the dark. Circumstances or situations may not be what they expected, but there is a lesson gained, a milestone gained, awareness gained, or self love gained. There is always abundance no matter what. A chance to grow again.

Libra 🌹- Balance. Inner harmony and ease. Shadow work to reach the light, and experiencing the light. Balance with spirituality and practicality. Seeing the facts and embracing intuition. Libra is represented by a flower, when the flower is shut it can’t receive, light and proper nutrients. When the flower opens and eases, Libra can receive intuitive downloads and embrace the spotlight. Contemplation is also another way to connect with your higher self. Avoidance of sitting down with yourself can cause separation with the higher self. The mind shouldn’t be neglected here entirely, rather, working with the mind in balance can help the journey. Overthinking suggests intuition needs to be present. Release the need to dominate, win, compete, and have a sense of control. To get to your higher self is to realize there is no competition required to meet yourself. Your mind can take you back to the familiar old ways, but the intuition will hold you and guide you. There is a need to follow a slow evolution and to slowly reach a point of equilibrium. Libras growth is not meant to be a fast paced, fiery journey. Rather a slow and steady process.

Aquarius 🌺- As seen, Aquarius is the water bearer usually balancing water and a cup. This represents constant duality and the transmutation of the subconscious. To get closer to your higher self, transmute and alchemize your wounds, fears into self love and acceptance. Work with the ego and soul to create mutual tolerance to benefit from healing. Allowing yourself to find your community is important to connect to your higher self. Recognize what you want to see around you, internally and externally, and what isn’t creating that currently. Remove what isn’t changing for the better. Jupiter is the esoteric ruler of Aquarius, so expanding awareness of oneself is important to Aquarius’s journey. Selfless and unconditional acceptance is important to creating and sustaining a connection with one’s higher self. Jupiter in Aquarius even in traditional astrology can represent this. It can also signify spiritual development and intuitive downloads, so letting oneself experience this can help the native feel guided and inspired. In esoteric astrology, the moon is also seen as the hierarchical ruler of Aquarius. The subconscious, the wounding, and the things that keep us safe. When those sides of us control us and want our attention, and we are incapable of meeting it, it can be detrimental. Look to the subconscious parts to see what is still controlling you or taking the drivers seat in your life.

Gemini 🌟- It is important to actually allow your higher self to speak to you and make itself known. Listening to its divine knowledge over constructive narratives that have kept others safe is important. It’s important to surround yourself with those who are in touch with their spirituality and live in their truth. Allowing yourself to speak your truth and divinely be guided in that is going to help your connection to your higher self. In greek mythology, Paracelsus says, “making commitment with determined resolution is difficult.” For Air signs what will help is consistency in truth, practicing truth and staying disciplined can help a lot. This helps the acceleration of getting closer to one’s soul, and therefore creating a connection with their higher self. Releasing resistance towards internal truth will help the native move forward in their life and connection with the higher self. Once we are open to the truth and practice what we preach, we fully let go of our own judgement and resistance. Letting go of fears related to your higher self is also important. Your higher self will not abandon nor create abandonment. Whatever falls apart is a natural consequence of inner healing.

Taurus 🌴- Attachment to desires can cause a separation with the higher self. It’s easy to think physical factors can fix whats going on internally, but the higher self encourages that we need only our soul. Taureans need to build stability and strength within themselves. They may look externally for relationships, friendships, community which is absolutely a necessity. But when they rely on it is where Taurus limits themselves. Their best relationships is with themselves. Take the time to pursue yourself and focus on a healthy relationship internally, especially with your higher self. In esoteric astrology, when Taurus does the inner work and transmutes their ego, they activate Vulcan as a planet. Vulcan helps illuminate shadows, brings healing and clarity. In fact, Taureans have immense will power and strength and they tap into that when they work on themselves. To get closer to your higher self, remember only you can set yourself free and limit yourself.

Capricorn 🌹- This sign is symbolized by a half goat/fish. This sign is not completely earthy, its watery intuition helps bring balance to its strict, structured and disciplined nature. Building trust and inner respect for your intuition will help you foster a better connection to your higher self. Part of the connection with your higher self isn’t fully meant to be logically understood. It’s an intuitive feeling your body produces that brings a level of balance. In esoteric astrology, the sign of Capricorn represents the full balance of heart and head, although the two may disagree, part of reaching your higher self is to balance these qualities. Accept the unknowns your mind may create, and your higher self will still guide you regardless of those unknowns. Build inner structure within yourself. It’s important to release the confines of your own mind and dive into the spiritual unknown, and practice an open mind. There is no structure when it comes to intuition, and no limit. It has no physicality, but it does communicate through your body and senses.

Virgo 💗- Release the idea of self perfection and mastery. In order to get closer to your higher self, it’s important to accept that this is not necessarily a destination but a journey, and there are no means to an end. You cannot master something that is still unfolding continuously. Release the grip of the physical, although it presents facts in front of you, its not all there is. To get closer to your higher self, its important to recognize that both shadow and light play a role in your healing. Virgo in esoteric astrology is all about blending duality, oneness, and creation. Creating light from understanding the shadow. Virgo in esoteric astrology is associated with motherly love and care, it’s important to heal mother wounds and allow yourself to receive guidance from the spirit realms, even if we don’t understand it fully. Know it is there for you and still accepts you. Work on the wounds relating to the mother, and nurture your inner child. The time needed to heal your relationship with yourself, and to create a relationship with your higher self will take the time it needs. Allow it to bloom. Make room for your soul to be born. Virgo is also represented as knowledge being put into synthesis or action, spreading and sharing. Share to yourself this vast spiritual healing and you’ll reap the benefits. Let healing be your mission, liberation your reward.

Scorpio 🌟- The relationship you have to your higher self is almost always near, throughout your trails and tribulations in life. Accepting the reorientation of your soul (lessons, truths, healing wounds and releasing the ego) can help you foster a better relationship with your higher self. In esoteric astrology scorpio is the sign of initiation, the souls opening, the beginning and ending. Work on opening to your higher self, and allowing your higher self to reveal to you all that has been hidden through pain and suffering. Go back to your higher self for guidance on how to give yourself a better experience by being a better you.

Pisces ✨- Rejuvenation and rest is the way to meet your higher self. Find a way to tune out all the noise (ego, distraction, constructs made by others) and listen to yourself. Get to know yourself behind the filter and projections placed by others. Hold yourself in the most rawest and vulnerable states. As depicted by the two fish, one is life, the other is death. Subconscious and conscious. Forever the two dance together, so its important to realize having your higher self is the balance to your life. Cancer 💫- Your higher self holds a ton of old age knowledge, so it’s important to be open minded to this information. Tradition may be important to you, it isn’t for no reason. you’re awoken by the feeling of a cold breeze caressing your skin, and as you grasp for his familiar figure, you realise albedo’s not beside you anymore. but before you can freak out, his soft voice calls to you from behind you, “good morning, dove. don’t move, i’m almost finished.” “finished with what?” you query, deciding to obey him and stay still. he doesn’t answer at first, but you can hear a faint scratching sound which almost sounds like charcoal against parchment. “and… done.” you shift in the bed, turning around to face him. albedo looks almost ethereal in the early morning light, especially when he smiles at you like you hung the stars in the sky. “i do hope you don’t find this peculiar, but i wanted to draw you while you were asleep. you looked so peaceful, and i wanted to immortalise this moment.” he hands you the paper, strands of wheat-coloured hair spilling over his shoulders, let loose from his usual half ponytail. you’re the only one who gets to see him like this, messy and imperfect instead of the flawless scientist he portrays to the rest of mondstadt. you gaze at the drawing, absorbing every detail as you try not to faint from what a sweet gesture this is, “albedo, this is amazing! you made me look so pretty.” he tilts his head quizzically, raising an eyebrow, “what do you mean? i just drew you exactly how i see you – you’re always beautiful to me.”

✦ CYNO. [ judicator of secrets ]

cyno's skin looks almost golden in the sunlight filtering through the translucent curtains. you're lying on your side, gazing at him and just admiring his features when his red eyes flutter open and he murmurs, “i might have to charge you for looking so much.” his voice is rougher than normal, deepened by sleep and it makes heat rush to your cheeks. “morning, babe-ah!” you can barely get out your greeting before he's pulling you back into his embrace, strong arms wrapping around you as he nuzzles into your neck. “cyno!” you laugh, turning around to face him, “stop it, i'm hungry! i wanna go get breakfast-” “hi hungry, i'm cyno,” your boyfriend looks at you with the most deadpan expression, and you're momentarily stunned. then you groan and throw a pillow at his head, “you're so lame!” “i'm not so lame, i just told you i'm cyno- okay, okay, i'll stop!” you collapse into a fit of giggles right as you're about to pummel his chest, “lamest ever.” “mmm,” cyno mumbles, eyes already fluttering shut again as he feels your plush warmth against him, “i'll make you breakfast, i swear, but can we just stay like this for a little longer?”

✦ KAEDEHARA KAZUHA. [ scarlet leaves pursue wild waves ]

the first thing you see when you wake up are kazuha's crimson irises laser-focused on you. the way his eyes scan your features, it’s almost like he’s tracing every detail to commit to memory, as if every morning that he wakes up next to you could be his last. “kazu? what's-” you're interrupted by a yawn, and your boyfriend's gaze softens as he looks at you. as you brush his red-streaked hair out of his face, he leans into your touch, almost cat-like in the motion, “what is it, 'zuha?” “i was just thinking... you make me glad to be a poet,” a gentle smile graces his features. “what? why?” despite the fact that kazuha is always letting praise fall from his lips like jewels, you didn't even remotely expect his answer. “because it means i'm lucky enough to be able to properly convey how you make me feel, and how gorgeous you are,” kazuha presses a sweet kiss on your forehead, then his brow furrows slightly, “but i don't think there's enough words in the world for me to speak about what you mean to me.”

✦ SCARAMOUCHE. [ kunikuzushi ]

when scaramouche wakes up, his first thought is; why does my entire body hurt? eyes still half-lidded and drowsy, he looks down and he's met with the sight of your back pressed against his torso, his arm thrown carelessly over your waist. he scrambles backwards, eyes widening with shock, and his sudden frantic movement wakes you up too. “what are you doing in my bed?!” “what the hell, scara?” you mumble, rubbing away the sleep from your eyes, “it’s too early for you to be this loud.” scaramouche’s heart is beating a million times a minute, and it’s only exacerbated by how cute you look when you’re this sleepy, not that he’d admit it to you for the world. but as you yawn and sit up, he thinks that he’s going to go into cardiac arrest. “you didn’t answer my question!” you give him a weird look, “we slept together. again. duh.” the blanket wrapped around your figure slides off a little as you reply, revealing your bare shoulder and giving him the faintest glimpse of your chest, and scaramouche’s face turns so red you genuinely think he might explode. “c-cover yourself up!” he scolds, clambering closer to drape the fabric over you again as his mind works through the haze of sleep, letting the memories of last night flood back.

realising how flustered he is, you take this as the perfect opportunity to tease him, “it’s nothing you haven’t seen before.” “shut up.” he replies curtly, but he hesitates as his fingers skim over the bite mark on your collarbone. his eyes darken slightly as he recalls last night, the messy kisses that were more tongue than anything else, his teeth nipping at your neck and finally sinking into your skin, all to mark you as his. you’ve both never officially decided what the two of you are, but you both know that he’s yours and you’re his, and scaramouche doesn’t like sharing. a playful smirk curves your lips, “remember giving this to me?” “don’t test me,” he mumbles, eyes roving over your exposed skin. his gaze dips to the still slipping blanket, hands ceasing their rapid motion to try and rescue your modesty, “i might give you more.” your arms loop around his neck, pulling him back down to the bed as you smile teasingly, “so do it.” “you’re a bad influence,” scaramouche groans, hands already moving to grip your hips, and you laugh, “that’s why you love me~”

✦ SHIKANOIN HEIZOU. [ analytical harmony ]

“good morning~” heizou's lilting voice is the first thing you hear when you wake up, and his trademark smile is already on his idiotically kissable lips as the two of you lie next to each other in his bed. “you do this with all the criminals you catch?” you drawl, trying to ignore how your heart skips a beat as you see the way his green eyes twinkle in the light. “just the ones i think look best in a different type of handcuffs,” he replies smoothly without missing a beat, smirk deepening as he notices he's left you speechless. “plus,” his hand trails across your cheek, thumb stroking your skin for a split second before his smile turns devilish, “it'd be pretty hard for me to get them to the police station if i left them all unable to walk.” “ugh, heizou!” you swat his shoulder, and bury your face in the pillow as he bursts into laughter. “but seriously,” heizou taps your shoulder gently, almost hesitantly, and you peek up from the pillow to look at him. a soft pink blush dusts his cheeks, and his eyes flicker away from yours in a manner that seems almost shy, “you're the only person i'd do this with, criminal or not.”

waking up next to you is like a little slice of heaven for xiao. he can barely believe that he, the corrupted conqueror of demons, is able to share a bed with a mortal who borders on angelic. you shift in xiao's embrace, tucking your head under his chin almost instinctively as your eyes open slowly, “good morning, xiao. did you sleep well?” he still gets embarrassed by your proximity, so his voice is a little curt as he responds with a pink blush darkening his cheeks, “adepti do not require sleep.” “ah…” you roll your eyes, but pounce on the opportunity to fluster him, “guess that's why you always want to go all night, hm?” “i-!” xiao's face turns an almost delightful shade of crimson and he looks away, “no respect for the adepti.” “not true!” you gasp with mock offense. cuddling up against him, you stick your tongue out, “i respect alllll the adepti. but my boyfriend? maybe not so much.” “you'll be the death of me,” xiao sighs, pulling you impossibly closer. “then i hope you'll die a happy man,” you giggle, threading your fingers through his jade hair. xiao's eyes slide shut from the feeling of you playing with his hair, and he murmurs a response that leaves you speechless, “after a life with you? certainly.”

"hey, shhh!" kaveh whisper-shouts at you as you open the fridge with a rather violent tug. you snicker at his serious expression, only to quickly clap a hand over your mouth when he widens his eyes dramatically at you. "sorry, jeez," you roll your eyes teasingly, "just wanted to get my ice-cream!" you wave the small popsicle at him with a grin, and his gaze softens.

"i know, i know. sorry if i'm being annoying about being quiet, i'm just worried about-" here kaveh pauses for an exaggerated groan, "-him getting upset." tossing the wrapper into the trash, you hop onto the counter and start licking the popsicle, "you shouldn't be so mean to haitham, kaveh. you know he's doing you a favour by letting you stay." "but babe," your boyfriend whines, stepping closer and placing his hands on either side of you; effectively caging you in, which you're pretty sure is what he wants, "he's so materialistic and overly logical about everything! it really gets on my nerves."

kaveh pouts up at you, jutting out his lower lip – you're pretty sure he wants you to comfort him. so, stifling your laughter, you pet his hair, stroking his head like you would to a cat, "awww, poor you." "yes, poor me," he lets his eyes slide shut in bliss as he leans up into your touch, "here's the part where you make me feel better." "dumbass," you shove him playfully, "you can taste my popsicle if you want." "really?" a mischievous smirk curves his lips, and you regret saying that already.

because the next thing you know, kaveh has his lips pressed against yours, tongue darting inside your mouth for just long enough to leave your head spinning. then as if nothing happened, he pulls away with an innocent smile, "strawberry is my favourite flavour too!" you frown at him, though it's difficult to remain upset when when the feeling of his mouth on yours is still driving you crazy. so you settle for rolling your eyes skyward before looping your arms around his neck, "idiot." "hey, i'll have you know that i graduated from the akademiya with honours." "mhmm," you bump your forehead against his, and he smiles, "can i kiss you again?" "all night long, pretty boy."

and that's how you end up with kaveh nipping at your jawline and smearing messy kisses down your neck in al-haitham's kitchen at two in the morning. "babe-" you try to scold him even as your fingers tangle in his blonde hair, "what happened to being quiet?" he looks up and meets your gaze with a cheeky wink, "changed my mind, just want to make you loud now~"

"ahem." a cough sounds from behind you, and you both spin around sharply only to be met with the grumpy face of a clearly sleep-deprived haitham. "oh no," you gasp at being caught in such a compromising position – this is embarrassing. kaveh doesn't even bother hiding his irritation at being interrupted, but before he can open his mouth to snap at his roommate, al-haitham simply points to something in front of you, "you're blocking the coffee machine." "ah! i'm sorry," you both sidle away as best as you can before rushing to kaveh's room and collapsing in a pile on the bed.

you can't help it, you burst into laughter the minute the door shuts, "that was so awkward! but also weirdly funny." "did you see the way he was clutching his mug? he looked like he was one paper away from burning down the akademiya," kaveh snickers, and that sets you off into another peal of giggles. when the two of you have calmed down, you poke him in the chest, "we are never making out anywhere except your bedroom again." "point taken," kaveh raises his hands in surrender, but a second later he's got that familiar smirk on his face, "so can we pick up where we left off?"

you're draped over his body in your shared bed, scraps of twilight spilling in through the window and bathing your torso in violet hues. as he tenses, you can feel his heartbeat pick up from how you're lying on his chest, but his voice is steady when he answers, "bold of you to assume adepti even have desires." "i'm nothing if not bold," you chuckle, finger idly tracing the outline of the green marks splattered across his arm, "you should know that by now."

you can hear the smile in xiao's voice when he replies, "indeed i do, dove." he shifts slightly, wrapping his arm around your frame and tucking his chin over your head. one might believe that this kind of skinship would be unthinkable for the conqueror of demons, and it is a fact that rang true at one point. but both time and love worked their magic on the adepti's heart until he learned to trust you, and he swears that may have been the best decision of his existence. "why do you ask?" he murmurs, voice muffled by your hair.

"just curious," you shrug, tilting your head up to meet his gaze, "wondering what's going on up in that pretty head of yours, loverboy." his eyes seem to gleam under the light of the stars, and you're struck by how stunning he is - his honey irises look at you with so much quiet affection that you think you could drown in them. his nose scrunches at the pet name, and a light blush dusts his cheeks, "i told you to stop calling me that." "maybe you'd prefer pookie? or sweetheart? baby?" your voice takes on a teasing lilt, smirk widening as xiao grows more and more flustered with every nickname.

he clicks his tongue, though there's no real irritation in the sound, "it's late. you should go to sleep." "aww, but we're having so much fun!" "goodnight, dove," his tone is gruff and abrupt, but you know it's just because he's embarrassed. now you're the one who's getting flustered, because you're so happy that you're close enough with xiao to be able to tell apart these subtle differences in his exterior. you nuzzle impossibly closer to him, "for your information, my wish was for us to be together forever!" a yawn slips out of your mouth before you can elaborate, and the repetitive motion of your lover stroking your head is already sending you off to dreamland. "goodnight, xiao," you manage to mumble, and then you're asleep.

once certain you aren't going to suddenly wake up and tease him, xiao permits a gentle smile to curve his lips. pressing a featherlight kiss to the crown of your head, he whispers, "my deepest desire is for you to be happy. i wish for nothing more." and with the galaxy as the sole witness to his confession, the yaksha permits the drowsiness weighing heavy behind his eyes to finally overtake him.

summary; when you, a waitress at the local coffee shop, are paired up with the new recruit scaramouche, you’re pretty sure both of you are going to get fired within a week. he’s just quit being a social media influencer and after being forced to work here to make ends meet, he’s ready to let everyone there know how much he hates it. the worst part? you can’t shake the feeling that you know him from somewhere. but as he slowly warms up to you, scaramouche realises that having a fresh start isn’t that bad after all, and perhaps the two of you meeting like this was pure serendipity.

summary: when you lose your job out of the blue, you’re pretty sure this is the end of the road for you. at least until you reconnect with your childhood best friend aether and he offers you your ideal job and a place to stay. the only condition is that his office will be behind the store you’ll be running, and under no circumstances are you permitted to enter. that’s how you begin your new life as a florist, though you’re not sure how to focus on working when aether seems to have too many pretty boys working both for and against him. your fresh start gets a whole lot more interesting when you discover just how many secrets these men are hiding, but somehow you think you’ll still be able find the elysian ending of your dreams.

“Aether, it’s fine! Don’t worry, I can carry these in myself,” you heft the cardboard box you’re holding so you can see Aether’s face. “I don’t doubt that, but there is an awful lot of stuff…” He looks back at his car, which is piled to the brim with messily taped boxes. “Hey! You don’t get to say that when your room in college literally looked like it could be on an episode of Hoarders,” you roll your eyes at his lifted eyebrow, and he raises his hands in surrender, “Nooo, don’t bring up my dark past! I just meant that it would be faster if I helped.” “Whatever,” you stick out your tongue playfully at him and he laughs.

“Hm? And who might this lovely person be?”

A voice behind you sounds, and somehow you can already hear the smile in their tone before you spin around sharply to face them. It’s a tall man with a shock of ginger hair, sea-blue eyes scanning you intently and a smirk playing about his lips. “Childe, what are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you all to clear out earlier?” Aether doesn’t sound too happy about this turn of events. “Oh! You must be the new florist!” Childe blatantly ignores Aether’s exasperated tone and rushes forward to shake your hand heartily before winking, “He didn’t mention that you’d be this pretty.” You laugh, “Thanks. He didn’t mention he had such handsome friends either.” “Oh, he’s more like our boss-”

“Childe.” Aether’s tone is stern this time, “Can you please not overwhelm Y/N? They’ve just got here.” “Sorry,” Childe backs off with his hands raised in surrender, but then he shoots you a sly smile, “Can’t wait to get to know you better.” Massaging his temples, Aether sighs, “I take you being here to mean that so is everyone else.” “Correct!” Childe finger-guns before effortlessly lifting the box out of your arms despite your protests, “And they’re also excited to meet you, so let’s head right in!” As soon as Childe leaves, Aether groans, “Sorry about that, Y/N. I didn’t mean to introduce you to everyone today.” “Don’t worry about it,” you nudge him, “I appreciate the warm welcome. So, was that one of your colleagues?” “You could say that… though they’re more like subordinates,” he chuckles, and you gasp dramatically, “I can’t believe you’ve become a boss! Do I have to call you sir now?” Aether’s cheeks turn red and his eyes widen, “No!” “Alright, sir,” you tease. He looks away, unable to meet your playful gaze as he huffs, “Let’s just go inside.”

Upon entering the building, you’re met with a stunning sight. Almost every surface in the room is covered with flowers of every kind imaginable; sunflowers, dahlias, roses, tulips… the list is endless. It’s a rainbow kaleidoscope of colours wherever you look, and it takes you a few moments to really absorb the fact that this place is yours. “Ta-da! Welcome to your flower shop, Y/N!” Childe stands in the middle of it proudly, grinning at you until somebody whacks him in the back of the head. “Ow!” he rubs the bump with an offended look, “Xiao, what was that for?” 

A shorter man with teal streaks in his dark hair steps out from behind Childe, “Accident.” “Yeah, right-” “I think it’s because you’re being irritatingly loud,” another man steps forward, this one with cropped indigo hair that matches his eyes, “You deserved that.” “Hey! I thought you were working on your anger issues,” Childe scowls, to which the other man says, “This is me working on my anger issues.” “Great first impression, guys,” Aether cuts in abruptly, shooting the three of them glares, “Anyway, meet Xiao and Scaramouche, Y/N.” Xiao offers you a curt nod, while Scaramouche looks you up and down judgmentally without even bothering to hide it. “See something you like?” you query with a wink, and his face turns as red as a tomato as he splutters, “What?! As if!” Aether groans and swiftly changes the topic, “Ignore him. So, what do you think of the place?”

“It’s amazing! Thank you so much, Aether!” you spin in a circle again to take it all in, and find that you can barely wrap your head around how you’re going to be in charge of all this – your childhood dream is finally coming true. “No need to thank me,” he smiles, “Most of it was already here, we just spruced it up a bit and brought in fresh flowers.” You cup a large drooping lily, and the grin on your face speaks for itself as to how happy you are.

Before you can thank them all even more, a couple of other men deep in an avid discussion about plants turn the corner. One has green hair cut into a neat bob, and the other is blonde with his hair braided to the back yet still reaching his shoulders. Seeing as they haven’t noticed you, Aether clears his throat, “Tighnari. Albedo. This is Y/N, they’ll be staying here from now on.” Both men look up at the same time with surprise, and Albedo tilts his head, “It’s nice to meet you.” “Indeed. I look forward to seeing how you’ll handle the place,” Tighnari shakes your hand firmly, “If you ever need any tips for how to look after the flowers, feel free to ask.” “Thanks! I’d really appreciate that,” you reply warmly, clasping his hand with both of yours and gazing into his forest green eyes with a smile.

Aether claps his hands, jolting you out of your reverie, “There’s still a lot of stuff from Y/N’s old apartment in the car, could you all help move them upstairs? Y/N, you should go outside and look around. After all, this’ll be your new home.” After he reassures you that they can handle transferring the boxes on their own (although Scaramouche stalks off with a grumpy “We don’t get paid enough for this.”), you decide to explore the area behind the building. There’s a hidden garden there, and it’s almost straight from a novel with how pretty it looks. A white swing set stands tall in one corner, while a bird feeder and a fountain decorate the rest of the area. Bushes of blossoming buds and trees swaying gently in the breeze grow in every inch of empty space, with a neat cobblestone path winding through it. 

Yet there’s something that seems out of place: A tall man with blue hair tied neatly into a ponytail perched on the edge of the swing. 

“Hello?” you try to acknowledge him, but it comes out as more of a question than a greeting. The melancholy written on his face as he stared into the depths of the small pond disappears in a second as he stands up with a smile, making you wonder if the pensive expression you saw was nothing more than a trick of the light, “Hello there. Who might you be?” “I should be asking you that,” you maintain eye contact, taking a careful step backward. “Me? I’m one of Aether’s employees, he’s got a pretty large company over here. The name’s Kaeya.” You relax at the mention of Aether, “Oh, I thought you were a creep from the way you were hiding out back here.” His chuckle rings out in the afternoon air, “What a wild assumption. Aether told us to stay far away until you got properly settled in here.” “Looks like nobody listened.” “Hmm… let’s just say that none of us are upright rule-followers.”

He leans in as if telling you a secret, “And you wanna know something else?” Your curiosity is piqued too, so you move closer excitedly, “What is it?” “I’m actually a pretty good tour guide!” Kaeya grins, “And I know all the best spots around here. What say we ditch them and go for a ride?” Guilt pricks at your conscience for leaving the other boys to deal with the boxes, but you soothe it by telling yourself they said they would be fine. So you beam, “Sure, let’s go!” “It’d be my honour to show such an adorable person around,” he winks, beckoning you to follow him to the car, “Now, your majesty, your carriage awaits.”

In hindsight, that was a pretty bad decision to make, especially on a day which had started off with awful news – there’s no guarantee that it would have ended with the sudden influx of good luck. So the moral of the story should be: don’t follow random strangers into their car even if they claim to know your friends, because it could end up with you locked in an interrogation room at the local police station for crimes you didn’t even know about. 

And if that sounds oddly specific, it’s because you lived through it.

If anyone asked you what you do for a living, you doubt that even in your wildest dreams would you have imagined replying that you ran a flower shop as a cover for a gang. It's so outrageous that sometimes you think you owe your past self an apology for going off the rails. But it doesn’t make sense to start telling your story from there – it’s better to start all the way at the beginning: a chance encounter in a coffee shop.

“Y/N? Is that you?”

You’re wallowing in the depths of despair, doing your best not to cry into your cup of iced coffee, when you hear a familiar voice call your name. Jerking around instantly, you scan the room filled with chatting teens, businessmen on important calls and smiling couples until your gaze lands on a man with a long blonde braid sitting at a table a few feet from you. 

Your eyes widen, “Aether?!” His face lights up when you recognise him, and he moves to your table, “It is you! Mind if I sit here?” “No, not at all. Just… wow, I can’t believe you’re here. It’s been forever!” “It really has. I’ve missed you,” Aether’s features soften into an easy smile, “I think the last time I saw you was at our college reunion party. How long has it been since then?” Attempting to ignore how his smile still manages to make heat rise to your cheeks, you chuckle, “At least three years, but you were always the one with the better memory. How have you been?” 

You don’t know if you’re imagining the shadow that seems to cloud his expression, but it dissipates in a second as he replies, “I’m doing well, actually. Moving here was a great decision, I’ve got a new company and everything.” "Really? That's incredible, Aether!" you beam, "At this rate you'll be taking over Teyvat." "I wouldn't go that far," he rubs the back of his neck bashfully, "What about you?"

Now you're fumbling for an answer. How do you tell your college roommate who you haven't seen in years that you've just been fired from your job and your landlord refuses to renew your lease? "Not too good on my end, if I'm being honest," you start cautiously before plastering on a bright smile, "But I'm hoping things will turn up soon!" Genuine concern floods Aether's face and he frowns, "Y/N, what happened? I don't mean to press, but you always did have a tendency to downplay your problems." "It's nothing, really," you try to laugh it off, but you can't meet his eyes. In fact, you can't even take yourself seriously for trying to delude yourself into believing that you being homeless with no source of income is not that serious. 

Aether places his hand on yours, which shocks you enough that your eyes dart up to his and he says softly, "You can tell me, you know. I'm the last person who has any right to judge anyone." "It's not that, I just don't want to dump everything on you," your voice seems to be stuck in your throat, and it comes out a lot less convincing than you hoped for. "Hey," he flicks your forehead gently as a playful smile curves his lips, "I don't think anything can compare to listening to you rant about all your different college crushes for hours." That coaxes a laugh out of you, and you sigh, "Fine." 

When you finish telling him the sad story of your life (AKA just the awful news of today), Aether is quiet. Fantastic. Now he thinks you're a jobless loser, and he's going to pity you and this is going to destroy the dynamics of your friendship and- "Would it sound crazy if I said I had the perfect solution for you?" Your train of thought comes crashing to a stop, "What?" "There's this building I have on the outskirts of town. It's our… base of operations, so to speak. But we only use the back storeroom, and the entire front area feels wasted. It used to be a flower shop, and we haven't had time to renovate it into anything we could use. Also, it would be really helpful to have someone I trust keeping an eye on the place," Aether explains. 

No way. This has got to be impossible. Could a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like this really just fall into your lap? Aether smiles, "I remember you once said your dream was to be a florist. And there's an apartment on the second floor, so you don't need to worry about looking for a place to stay." He must be kidding, right? He's definitely joking, and he's going to drop the punchline any minute now. But a few seconds pass in silence and he doesn't say anything – he just looks at you. Tilting his head, he asks, "So, what do you think? Of course, there's no pressure to accept. This must sound pretty wild."

It seems too good to be true, but a part of you doesn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. You've known Aether for years, he's someone you'd trust with your life. He couldn't have undergone a complete personality change in just a couple of years with no contact, right? Everything will be fine and all your issues will be resolved if you agree to this – who wouldn't want that? Inhaling a deep breath, you look at him with a determined expression, “Alright. If you’re serious about this, I’d love to!” An excited grin spreads across his face, “Awesome! When will you be moving in? I can text the rest of my team to prepare anything you need for the store, just say the word.” 

The reality of what’s happening seems to crash in on you as he looks at you expectantly, you’re moving into somewhere you’ve never even seen and becoming the owner of a flower shop after years of working a 9-5 desk job. But strangely enough, it isn’t overwhelming at all; it feels like you’re taking the first step towards a new beginning, and instead of nervousness, elation is what’s bubbling up in your heart right now. So it’s with an eager smile that you reply, “Would today be okay?” Aether’s expression mirrors yours, “Definitely!” 

And that’s how a coincidental meeting in a coffee shop changed everything for you, placing you on the path that would eventually lead to an elysian dream of a life.

kokomi: hi, y/n! it's your lunch break now, right?

y/n: yep! i'm surprised you remember.

kokomi: hey! i just visited you the other day, my memory isn't that bad!!

y/n: yeah, yeah, whatever you say. anyways, what did you want to tell me? it sounded important.

kokomi: well… you know how we met childe and signora the other day, right?

y/n: yeah, i could barely believe they knew scara. i mean, this is the same guy who complains about the stray cats making a mess outside the cafe but still leaves leftovers for them. i wouldn't have expected him to have such famous friends.

kokomi: me too. and i actually wanted to talk to you about that.

y/n: why, what is it?

kokomi: i was curious about how scaramouche knew them, so i asked gorou to do a little digging.

y/n: what? kokomi, why would you do that?

kokomi: this guy shows up out of nowhere and ayaka hires him, and it turns out he has friends in such high places? it's suspicious!

y/n: what the fuck, kokomi? what's gotten into you? this is my colleague we're talking about. he's literally just some random guy ayaka hired, why do his friends matter? it's not like they're bad people!

kokomi: they might not be, but he is.

y/n: and what's that supposed to mean?

kokomi: check the link i just sent you.

y/n: fuck off, kokomi. i'm not dealing with this today. what's wrong with you?

kokomi: y/n, please just click it. i really think you need to see this.

you click on the link kokomi sent you - it's a youtube video titled 'the rise & fall of scaramouche'. you watch it in silence with kokomi still on the phone.

kokomi: you see? he was a drama youtuber and he got clout off of ruining other people's lives - he even got fired from genshin impact! when genshin threatened a lawsuit, he agreed to settle privately by deleting all his accounts. genshin must have paid to scrub all the traces of him they could from the internet too. i knew there was something fishy about him!

y/n: honestly, fuck you, kokomi.

kokomi: what?! why me?!

y/n: because who cares what his past was like? yeah, maybe he used to be a shitty person, and yeah he's still a pain in my ass, but he's changing. scara hasn't done anything bad since he started working here, i don't know why you're so against him.

kokomi: i just don't want you to get hurt, y/n. we all know you're still looking for that mystery guy from when you were younger, and this is the first time you've liked someone without mentioning that. i'm worried he's taking advantage of you.

y/n: get a grip, kokomi. i'm a grown adult, and you're not my mother. i can make my own choices and deal with the consequences.

kokomi: well forgive me for being worried about my FRIEND.

y/n: just… leave me alone. goodbye, kokomi.

i'm curious, what do u guys think abt what kokomi did? are you on her side or y/n's side? i've personally experienced a lot of friends getting defensive whenever you point out anything wrong with their rs/bf so i guess this is partially inspired by that LOL
