Before I start talking, please don't try to catch an Ultra Beast. They're very dangerous . Anyways ! (⁠´⁠；⁠ω⁠；⁠｀⁠)

Ultra Beasts (sometimes abbreviated as "UB") are extradimensional Pokémons who went through Ultra Space and ended up in Alola after going through Ultra Wormholes.

They'll be drawn to people that went through Ultra Wormholes due to Z-Power staying on them and making the UB believe they're about to find a way back home.

They also absorbs Z-Power! It gives them the ability to use Beast Boost, which is move that— well, boost their powers.

Normal PokeBalls aren't very useful on them (except the MasterBall) so, to circumvent this, Aether Foundation created BeastBalls.

I only shared little informations but I hope you've fund this interesting ! Also, they're very dangerous! Don't try anything stupid!

just kidding ! well actually , i don't know . he could be dead , or just a deadbeat . he totally disappeared before my birth and no one ever talks about him so i just assume he's dead , it's less harming than the idea that he went away and now has a new family or something . all i know is that he's the one who gave lee' his charizard ( well , charmander during that time ) and that i'm the one who look the most like him . positive point is that i can make up shit and say stuff like " he went cave diving and never came back " or " he got murdered " everytime someone asks me about it .

" is so hypocritical , you're trying to make us believe you care about pokemons while still pushing the idea you want them dead ? plus you need a strong bond and great trust with the pokemon for both techniques , neither mega evolution of dynamax will work if the pokemon doesn't know it's perfectly safe .

UB's are just as dangerous as normal pokemon IMO

Sure they're on par with the stronger ones, but a lot of their threat comes from nobody having any fuckn clue what they're looking at.

If you yell THE MOON HAUNTS YOU at a Guzzlord (read: use moonblast on) loud enough it'll keel over just as quickly as a Hydreigon.

The only thing you need to watch out for is Beast Boost, which is the same level of "Oh Shit" as battling a dragapult.

so if you're hell bent on beating up UBs, Make sure you can reliably clobber every single pseudo legend/powerhouse in a 1v1.

but yeah ! what you 've been saying first is pretty much why they 're considered so dangerous , it 's because we don 't know lots 'bout them .

alright , prepare for a bit of yapping —

the inter-regional pokemon laboratory and academy of kalos ( long ass name , i know . we tend to just call it " interregional lab " , the bravest souls calls it " IRPLAK " but it kinda sounds lame to me idk . but it's real name in kalosian is " laboratoire et académie inter-régional de kalos . " , don't ask how i memorized it . ) is a collective laboratory made like, 29 years ago if i'm not mistaken , and while it's also located in lumiose city , it is not the same lab as professor sycamore's ! those are two separate establishment but so many people tend to mix them up . it was created with the goal of making collaborative research between regions easier , because , back when it was created , there wasn't the technology requested yet to share informations without it taking ages , which could some times affect experiments ( ex : reactions of pokemons compared to their regional forms depending on specific situation ) negatively . it started out as a kanto-kalosian project with other regions slowly joining it with the years .

regions with the capacity of doing so — sends atleast one senior assistant ( personally chosed by the regional professor ) to share recent studies and discoveries from their regions which they think could contribute to wellbeing and scientific improvement of other regions during reunions ( see it a bit as a type of " counsel " ) . and of course , the main studies made here are about the difference between pokemons depending on the region — and I KNOW it can seem like a boring topic and that they couldn't be studying that for 29 years straight , but believe me that there's so many different point of view that can be taken for those studies ! so many different factors to use ! so many different experiments to do ! so many different techniques of analysis to use ! truly , i don't think that we can truly not have anything to research about in here .

there is of course an involvement of political alliance but i'm not here to talk about ( + it's boooriiiing ) .

with the span of only 5 years , regional professors started sending alongside their senior assistant — their junior assistants , to ease the process of the learning journey and to embrace the different teaching styles of other professors while also learning about the wildlife and pokemology of other regions . the status of " academy " has officially been given to the laboratory after the installation of a teaching circuit and classes for juniors assistants ( another kinda political strategy to toss future regional professors together so they end up forming bonds at a young age ) .

as for the organization of the lab — the establishment is separated in multiple parts (that i know of , atleast ) ; the laboratories ( no shit ) , the classrooms ( well depending on the numbers of assistants and the subject that is being learned — it's either regular classrooms or lecture halls ) , the training grounds ( officially for pokemon battles and physical experiments — mainly used an an exuse to have fresh air ) , the stockage room ( never went there but bianca told me she saw a brain there once — to what it belonged ? she had no idea . ) , the reunion rooms and different professors' office ( never been there either , can't tell ya about it ) and finally , the dorms ( they're separated in 4 parts ; girls , boys , adult women and adult men — there's less adults in the dorms than assistants though . ) we also have a shared kitchen and cafeteria duh . but the place is very big so there's definitely rooms i don't know about .

there are of course other interregional labs in other regions ( prettiest one is the one in alola btw ) but they tend to be smaller and directly connected to the one in kalos , students can sometimes be sent to those ones for short periods of time to discover new environments .
