Nari was born on February 13, 1998 in Seoul, South Korea to Park Sangchul, a baker, and Choi Jiyeon, a journalist. She was the result of a one night stand, and shortly after her birth, Jiyeon signed all of her custody rights to Sangchul. She grew up fairly normal as the only child of Sangchul and later, her step-mother, Shin Haein. Her father owns a bakery, Knead a Scone, in Seoul while Haein works as a 911 dispatcher.

She was always interested in dance; specifically ballet, from the moment she watched Barbie of the Swan Lake. She attended Universal Ballet in Korea from seven to ten and got accepted into the school of her dreams; the Paris Opera Ballet. At fifteen, she was diagnosed with a herniated disc injury and subsequently had to quit ballet. Only a year later in 2014, she auditioned for YG Entertainment and was accepted.

She made her official debut as an idol in BLACKPINK in 2016 as their center, lead dancer, lead vocalist and maknae. Nari is renowned for her ‘doll-like’ features, strong stage presence, and dance skills.

I'm Nari, a girl who just likes to edit photos of my bias Hyunjin for lockscreens, home screen, and profiles pictured. It make them fun and special to me when I use them.

I do a lot of other things, then just edit photos. I write peoms and songs. I also love dancing and volleyball. I'm a gamer and play many different games. I also love traveling!

I'm a hard-working girl who's trying to start my own life as an adult. I want to follow my dream as someone who loves to travel. Has her own home, with ferrets, guinea pig, and a dog. I'm in a cute little studio apartment. It is filled with my favorite painters art.

My favorite painters are Hwang Hyunjin, Van Gogh, and myself. Yes, I paint as well.

I also would love to travel the world. My dream is to go to Paris, Seoul, Milan, Greece, etc. To see what it's like there and to paint what I see and more.
