the donovan fortune was one sought after around the world, which was why norah rarely attended the wild parties some of her more affluent friends hosted; a way to keep up her pristine facade to the world. last night had been the first party she'd attended in a few years and she'd had the best night, landing in bed with a person who oozed confidence and power, not much unlike her father. but unlike her father, this person had paid her their full attention, showering her with compliments and showed her that her body wasn't broken. that she'd been unlucky with partners in the past who hadn't known what they were doing, but with them, there had been no issue reaching her peak, even doing so multiple times during the night. so imagine norah's surprise at walking into her father's business meeting with some paperwork and the person at the end of the table was the one from the night before. her eyes widened for a fraction of a second, before she regained her composure and sucked in a breath. "is there anything else, sir?" she asked her father, having learned early on to treat him with the respect other employees should as well, intentionally keeping her gaze of the other person in the room. after his dismissal she scurried out of the room with a shake of her head, but she barely made it halfway down the hall, until she was being pulled into a nearby coat closet. the familiar feel of the arm that snaked around her waist from behind, caused norah to lean her head backwards against their shoulder. "we can't do this," she whispered on a sigh, "you're supposed to be in a meeting."
