ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤ❛ㅤI think it would BENEFIT our research if we researched these ' Paradox Pokémon ' further. We should figure out why they've all taken on theseㅤ—ㅤmetallic forms and what sorts of consequences that holds for us as a civilization if they are indeed Pokémon of the future like Professor Turo says. ㅤ❜

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤDid that sound ' smart ' enough ? She HOPED so. The social aspects and pleasing people were the worst parts. But she still continues.

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤ❛ㅤAll of these Paradox Pokémon are rather HOSTILE though. I feel that our safest bet would either be Iron Bundle as it's the smallestㅤ—ㅤor Iron Thorns as it seems to prefer to avoid confrontation. ㅤ❜

Writing this down for my own reference butㅤ—ㅤ

Celeste was obviously not a very good Pokemon trainer in her original timeline. She did attempt the gym challenge but gave up before even reaching Katy due to being discouraged at her lack of skill. She went on to become Professor Turo's assistant instead and that's how the real story begins.

In the original timeline, she only has a Sprigatito, a Pawmi, and a Marill. She probably could have taken on Katy but she lost her confidence after losing one too many battles.

If she couldn't even make it to her first gym battle, who knew what sort of damage these strange, unknown beings made of solid metal could do to her Pokemon ?

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤWell, at least she knew how to researchㅤ—ㅤfrom a distance. So long as the two of them weren't spotted; MAYBE things would be okay ?

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤGeez, she thought becoming a researcher would be the EASY route. Never once did she think it would be so DANGEROUS.

"In that case, I'll ensure that you are protected while we're down there. As long as we take care to not provoke them, they shouldn't be much of an issue." He'd just need to make sure umbreon didn't suddenly get the urge to challenge one to a battle...

"If things happen to go south, I can have beheeyem teleport us to safety." He took a moment to adjust his glasses, meeting Celeste's gaze with a smile. "You're in good hands, dear."

˗ˏˋㅤʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ‿︵ㅤ˗ˏˋㅤ𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 under the assumption that the adults who CLEARLY had more battling experience than her would do the fighting. The response he gets was a brief, but noticeable expression of shock before she quickly attempts to go back to her more stone - faced student look.

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤ❛ㅤWithㅤ—ㅤwith ALL due respect, Professor Spinelㅤ—ㅤI'm not very confident with taking on these Pokémon. I don't have a full team and none of them are at their final forms yet. ㅤ❜

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤShe went down this path to AVOID the Gym challenge. Was it the ' treasure ' Director Clavell had spoke of ? She already knew in her mind that it wasn'tㅤ—ㅤbut science was the only thing she felt SOMEWHAT comfortable with doing. Combining that science with battle howeverㅤ—ㅤthat was another story.

ʚㅤ★ㅤɞㅤ˗ˏˋㅤ❛ㅤI agree with you that observing them from a distance is the safest approach. I just hope none of them become AGGRESSIVE. ㅤ❜

Naturally, she seemed to suspect nothing. Spinel seemed like nothing more than the typical researcher or teacher's assistant at the academy to all the students. Certainly made things easier for him.

He could only nod, unable to help but admire her willingness for research. She reminded Spinel a bit of when he was younger. That, and the possibility of getting to examine these paradox pokemon intrigued him greatly.

"That does seem like a fair assumption, though it would be wise to remember that even the smallest pokemon can harness immense power. Even a tiny joltik and sap all the power from a building. And if the other paradox pokemon are any indication, I doubt that this Iron Bundle should be underestimated."

He jotted down a few more notes, before looking over a few blurry photos of the various paradox forms.

"Observing them from a distance would likely seem like the safer option, at least for the moment. Wouldn't want to encourage any hostility. Though if combat does happen to occur..."

He looked over at Celeste with a raised eyebrow.

"I would hope your team is strong enough to protect you, yes?"

His own umbreon would likely be able to hold its own for a bit, but if this girl was so willing to throw herself into danger without proper preparation, then she was nothing short of foolish.
