S3: Tyranical Three

(Fits the EPs, don’t it. Oh, and keef’s “leadership style”)

S4: Forgetful Four

(The only good episode was the one starring Pidge, honestly. And keef is the worst. Give me back s1 Keith. And TheVoltronShow! episode? NO. Allura worked HARD to be seen as a Commander only to get told she was either “helpless” or “just a substitute.” Just...what? And Pidge? She was bullied for being “too smart”. Coran essentially told her “nobody cares about your talents”. That was all before Possessed!Coran. Hunk got turned into the butt of the joke—literally. When he struggles to have his teammates actually appreciate that he brings more to the table than just edible communal food but IS in fact a brilliant mechanical engineer who just happens to apply that same skillset to food as well to bring people together. Jiro/Shiro? Um...this isn’t a knock at fanworks. But canonically, y’all DO realize that both Shiroganes are essentially coded as r@p3 survivors as much as you CAN code in a “children’s show” without explicitely saying the word or tilting the camera away? And he got told to “shut up and look pretty and let us leer and grope you without your consent”. Thank God for StudioMir recognizing that with how Jiro reacted (their thirsty side stuff aside). And the Shiroganes are people who inspire people WITH their words, even if they sound like cheesy anime/comicbook speeches. It’s their conviction that draws people to them. Wanna know why Jiro said “and MAYBE we can get through this” in the finale? Look no further than residual and internalized TVS damage (I also HC that it caused him to stress eat again and regain the weight he looked like he dropped during the s4e1 exposition shots). And not even Lance got away from all that, as revealed in Vol3. Lance started doubting his position as a Paladin again. (Heh. Jiro actually had to give BOTH Lance and Hunk pep talks in the comics just to get them to believe in their own value again.)

S5: Ferocious Five

(The powderkeg officially EXPLODED. Especially with ALL the hate for Jiro becaus he snapped That One Time and instantly regretted it, was clearly doing his best to Save Sam/End Zarkon/Find a Compromise that wouldn’t result in killing their PoW/Fight Haggar’s Control (THANK you Mir and JK). And he was so freaking terrified that he finally reached out to someone, and that someone was Lance. Which, Lance has always been the one who’d notice when any Shirogane was having a Bad Day with their PTSD/health and the first to accept both of them As They Were (Keith didn’t interact with Takashi’s arm. LANCE did, in the isolation unit, then again with the handshake that was intentionally framed to make Shiro seem uncertain and vulnerable. It had nothing to do with Lance being a fanboy at that moment, or any moment, really. Heroworship got set aside to try and give his friend/leader what they needed. But...WELL. Then s6+ happened.)

S6: Sinister Six

(HAh...yeah yeah it’s “already used”. Don’t care. The EPs kept borrowing Azula and Zuko and others to describe crap; and Jiro was the canary in the coal mine. With ALL the plotlines it seemed like we were FINALLY gonna get answered just...gone.)

S7: Seven Salt

(Not mine. But ‘nuff said. We ALL know why it “earned” that tag AGES ago.)
