gritted  teeth  were  not  enough  to  transmit  the  inner  battle  she  was  fighting  in  her  head  .  eyes  of  lavender  glistened  like  clear  glass  ,  torn  in  between  going  against  the  priestess’  wish  &  complying  with  her  demand  .  as  a  taijiya  ,  the  choice  was  a  simple  one  –save  those  that  could  be  saved  ,  or  let  everyone  die  .  it  was  her  duty  to  never  allow  the  latter  to  happen  ,  no  matter  the  risks  ;  a  duty  she  preached  like  a  mantra  ,  for  indecision  often  leads  to  death  .  &  yet  ,  why  did  her  legs  feel  heavier  when  she  tried  to  turn  away  &  go  to  the  opposite  direction  (  where  she  should  go  )  ? 

has  the  presence  of  that  person  into  her  life  affected  her  this  much  ?  to  the  point  where  she  would  second  guess  actions  she  wouldn’t  have  thought  about  twice  before  ?   ..   because  that’s  what  she  would’ve  done  –the  silver  haired  girl  whose  naivety  setsuna  reprimanded  constantly  .  she  would  have  refused  &  do  whatever  she  can  to  leave  with  everyone  safe  &  sound  .  (  but  she  was  not  towa  .  )  ..  setsuna  tightened  her  hold  on  her  naginata  ,  forcing  herself  to  get  out  of  her  head  &  act  before  her  stillness  could  impact  the  situation  for  the  worse  .

❛    understood  .   ❜   her  nod  was  firm  &  decisive  ;  a  contrast  to  her  previous  second  guessing  .  would  the  priestess  berate  her  if  she  knew  ?  would  the  chief  ?  she  wondered  as  she  guided  the  group  of  humans  placed  under  her  care  out  of  harm’s  away  .   nonetheless  ,  she  pledged  to  herself  to  come  back  once  she  could  get  the  small  group  of  humans  to  safety  .

a  slight  curiosity  reflected  in  her  pair  of  violet  orbs..  her  youth  a  disadvantage  to  philosophy  –––which  unbeknown  to  her  ,  didn’t  try  to  hide  as  she  turned  her  head  to  the  direction  of  the  voice .  it  had  startled  her  &  brought  her  back  to  the  soil  after  she  allowed  herself  to  be  awed  by  the  beauty  of  the  trees  she  was  looking  at..  but  for  some  reason  ,  the  other  didn’t  give  her  an  aura  of  warning .  her  scent  was  of  a  human  &  her  clothes  screamed  her  profession  ;  still  ,  she  was  never  one  to  lower  her  guard  to  strangers .  (  &  yet –––  )

as  if  dismissing  her  presence  ,  the  half  demon  turned  back  to  the  trees  ;  chin  tilted  &  eyes  admirers  once  again  of  the  flowers  adorning  the  branches  the  trees .  perhaps  to  hide  her  lack  of  ability  to  read  between  the  lines  of  the  other’s  sentence  ,  or  maybe  because  she  wanted  to  see  the  difference  between  each  flower . ––––––nevertheless  ,  the  conclusion  was  all  the  same .

her  own  combing  of  her  mokomoko  ceased  as  she  glanced  over  the  pauldron  on  her  shoulder  ;  violet  eyes  seeking  to  judge  &  analyze  his  words  to  her .  it  was  clear  that  an  action  of  hers  managed  to  change  a  prejudice  from  perhaps  words  or  actions  alone .  still  ,  it  didn’t  clarify  much  ,  &  questions  filled  her  head ;

–––how  did  he  think  she’d  be ?  was  that  a  good  or  a  bad  thing ?  the  half  demon  was  aware  that  because  of  her  nature  she  was  prone  to  impressions  ;  not  like  she  would  care  (  or  that’s  what  she  would  tell  herself  )  but  even  though  she  wanted  to  shrug  her  shoulders  ,  or  scold  him  for  being  misguided  ,  a  spark  of  nervousness  lit  up  very  faintly..  but  not  enough  as  to  not  notice  its  symptoms .  one  that  if  she  were  not  fast  enough  to  shake  her  head  &  put  it  to  task  on  something  else  ,  cheeks  would  betray  her  with  a  cherry  color .  

setsuna  kept  her  lips  sealed  for  a  while .  taking  her  eyes  off  him  to  put  her  focus  back  on  the  fur  around  her  shoulder .  maybe  he  was  not  the  only  one  who  had  been  misguided  by  first  impressions..    ❛   it’s  not  my  fault  that  you  are  simple  minded .   ❜

geezus..  what  can  i  say  about  @senpujin ?  i  haven’t  spoken  to  her  much  but  i’ve  seen  others  comment  once  in  a  while  that  she  writes  “ beautifully ”..  that’s  what  a  few  people  have  said  so  that’s  ok..  i  think  she  does .  i’ve  also  seen  that  her  edits  are  pretty  cool .  she  mostly  does  colorings  lately  ,  but  yeah  ,  that’s  cool .  i  think  she  should  do  more  writing  than  edits  though .  but  still  ,  i  guess  she’s  doing  great  &  her  patience  is  contagious  because  the  blog  still  has  followers  despite  the  lack  of  writing  ;  so  senpujin..  four  words  for  you ::

the  statement  caught  her  off  guard..  surprise  was  inevitable  to  feel  &  difficult  to  hide  when  the  words  &  tone  shook  her  off  her  feet  ;  rosy  cheeks  ,  eye brows  raised  &  lips  slightly  parted..  a  father  figure  ,  they  said ..  &  the  teenager  couldn’t  help  but  wonder   –––––have  i  really ?

a  crush..  two  seconds .  three  seconds  were  enough  to  process  the   question  ,  &  when  she  remembered  what  the  word  meant  ,  her  heart  picked  up  its  pace..  a  modern  expression  towa  explained  to  her  not  too  long  ago .  still  ,  as  cheeks  were  adorned  by  a  light  crimson  color  ,  she  didn’t  know  if  she  would  go  as  far  as  to  call  it  a  “  crush  ” .  but  a  person  did  cross  her  mind  (  so  that  must  mean  something  ,  doesn’t  it?  )  in  any  case  ,    growing  admiration  is  what  she  would  rather  call  it .

setsuna  remained  silent  for  a  brief  moment .  even  if  she  wanted  to  avoid  it  ,  she  had  vowed  to  answer  with  the  truth  ;  fearing  her  word  would  stop  meaning  something  if  she  were  to  answer  false .  still  ,  given  the  question  that  was  asked  ,  she  chose  to  leave  it  open  to  interpretation .  eyes  blinked  &  she  turned  her  head  away .
