I just feel like if someone asked Seth or Jonah if they'd kill for them ... they'd come away very disappointed.

Jonah would be super uncomfortable and Seth would only do it if it meant keeping he and his brother safe.

Outside of that --- there are very few people in their HEU verses they have a drive to want to protect that fiercely.

Vampire Verse Headcanon: Jonah + Feeding

While this headcanon is under a cut for length - triggering content is included they are in the categories of: Body horror, self - mutilation, gore & blood in general --- Read at your own risk !!!

Talents at Play: Predominately his mind-reading ability & speed. Typically, he uses the now strengthened in born gift of telepathy and manipulation of reality to play ‘mind games’ with his prey. Jonah uses this to herd them into a secluded area ... usually the woods. He also, obviously uses his 5 heightened natural senses & his new-found strength. ( Jonah has the highest pain tolerance between the twins, though he and Seth both have stone durable flesh. )

Jonah’s Hunting Method: Jonah uses his soft-spoken nature to his advantage --- though he doesn’t really like to hunt often anyway. He doesn’t usually bother with a pretense, and technically warns off the target if they are too drawn in by him. ‘You don’t want to know me.‘, ‘Steer clear of me.‘ etc. Because of the nature of what he is, people end up drawn to him anyway --- though he usually only engages actively with people who are a threat to the community of Deadwood, Louisiana. ** This is not to say innocent people don’t die too --- he just doesn’t actively wish to seek innocent blood out while hunting & he doesn’t make them suffer excessively. **

Appearance Before Attacking His Prey: Jonah, when his mental sights are locked on a threat, goes into a forced relaxed & approachable state. It’s usually enough for the problematic person to come forward --- if they don’t, he’ll feign a situation to put them in close proximity to one another. Usually conversation and engagement follows after this. His soft-spoken & sensitive personality are on full display in a mock show of congeniality & naiveté. His speech shifts from cold & annoyed to being composed of stutters while he fumbles with his words like he’s nervous. He’s all boyish grins and nervous glances. This results in the threatening individual erroneously marking Jonah as the target. He’s usually successful at convincing the target to come for a walk with him. He will then lead them into his own private section of the woods.

Appearance During The Attack: Jonah’s calm is almost scary on it’s own --- the quick nervous glances & the stuttering stops completely once they are far enough from other people. Instead his voice goes back to being cold & hard while he recounts whatever not-so-nice thoughts his prey has been thinking with such precise diction and accuracy they can’t help but be afraid. Jonah likes listening to the way their heartbeat quickens while he’s talking. At this point, they usually try to turn back the way they’ve come, but --- Jonah used the time he’d be distracting them to get them away from any identifying trail or markers to help them out. ( Sometimes he’ll let them wander aimlessly and only intervene again if he’s afraid they’ll get too close to the trails. ) In this time, Jonah is using his reality warping power to assault the target mentally with whatever they fear the most or visions of their past crimes. 

If they beg for a little mercy, Jonah will relent and phase 2 begins.

When he finally releases his prey from their mental anguish they already notice his primary fangs & secondary bleeders ( the 1st set of premolars). Sometimes, they try to get away from him sometimes they try a head on attack. 

At this point, Jonah allows himself to be more ‘ feral ‘ his fangs have elongated, his nails are more claw-like, and he springs into action ripping and tearing at his target until he gets a good hold on them. He likes to mangle them, but not to the point they immediately die. He’d rather them feel each ounce of pain he can inflict on them. 

Things the victim definitely missed because it all happened while they were being mentally terrorized: The elongation of his ‘ secondary ‘ fangs. These help vampires bite more deeply into their prey. His already freezing body temperature hits ‘ sub-zero ‘ levels and his tight grip becomes so cold it sears his victim’s flesh. -> Extended periods of contact with his skin at this temperature can and will result in frostbite. Jonah’s grip is also much more forceful and dangerous in comparison to his brother’s hunting style grasp. He will actively break his prey’s bones. His eyes appear to roll up - leaving only the whites exposed. This is almost the same thing as Seth’s 3rd membrane eyelid --- only Jonah’s membrane is thicker &  will protect his eyeballs from the blood spatter and possible viscera that may hit him in the face while he’s feeding. ( He doesn’t shed his. ) 

Over-Eating vs Comfortably Full: If Jonah over eats, he’ll end up vomiting up the blood his system doesn’t require & will appear very intoxicated before vomiting. He will be a variant of ‘ hung - over ‘ after the fact. If he’s sufficiently after feeding he takes on a more human appearance in skin tone, his cheeks getting rosy and a spark of life igniting somewhere behind his eyes. His mood will worsen as he gets hungry again. The fact he doesn’t drain enough people when he does bother to properly feed could be why he’s constantly in a foul & brooding mood at home. 

How Often Does Jonah Need To Feed: Jonah should feed every other week or so, though he usually pushes it to around the 3 - 5 weeks mark. His diet usually consists of animals or Jasmine’s left overs from when she hunts ... though he doesn’t like her means of doing so. He doesn’t usually allow himself to drain more than 1 - 2 people per hunting session. ( He doesn’t want to give his pre-historic gators Kitty & Festus a tummy ache with his left overs !!! )  He should be draining nearly as many as Seth to be satiated. 

Extra Notes: Jonah’s vampire lineage ( inherited from his creator ), is that of a ‘ Syphoner ‘. Essentially, he’s gifted & excels at torturing his prey and absorbing their raw emotions as a source of energy to fuel his own talents. His fangs are sharp & his sense of protecting the places and people that are his is sharper. 

Jonah doesn’t have ‘ tertiary fangs ‘ -> canines that elongate.

There’s no real way for an average human to kill or maim Jonah in a detrimental way. However, he likes to toy with his more volatile & dangerous prey. He plays mind games, sometimes intruding on their thoughts, sometimes with quick bursts of attack before he’s gone away again to quick to see. ( His amused laugh always lingers a second more after he’s departed the arena he’s set for himself. )

Usually reserved and mild, his more savage & sadistic feral vampire nature surfaces while feeding on people who deserve to suffer. 

Jonah can dislocate & unhinge his jaw if necessary to get a good enough angle to bite his prey. He is also known to dislocate, break, tear/cut off and maim parts of himself in an attempt to reach his prey more easily if they are trying to hide from him in tight places. His power of regeneration and healing is more pronounced than his siblings, thus making it easy for him to be this drastic.

He visits his gators every couple days with food scraps and to play with them by wrestling & playing fetch with cow bones. He also checks them over to be sure they’re both healthy every so often. 

Jonah & Seth have a strong connection + as such speak telepathically if they’re within a 10 mile radius of one another. ( Jasmine can ‘ hack ��� their brains as well considering her own mind reading talent and typically can locate the boys no matter what. ) Though Seth prefers to dine alone, he’ll occasionally cajole his twin to join him while hunting  --- It’s very rare though. Jonah on the other hand has not ever had Seth along to hunt with him when he’s completely feral. He does often ask for his brother to stop and pick him up in the car after he’s fed his prey to the gators in the swamps.

I don’t think he’d want to --- because he hates that he had to give up humanity in the process. He wouldn’t damn someone else to suffer too. 

His personal feelings aside though:

Jonah is unaware that he’s been granted the skill, ( per genetic vampire mutation ) to even be able to turn someone else into a vampire. ( He got this skill from Jasmine & will be revealed as the unknown 6th vampire in the TSO’s coven than has the ability to do so. )   

So, technically while he physically could ... he can’t go outside of the coven’s leader without proper permissions to turn someone else. This paperwork legal process can take around 30 - 50 years to complete for proper permissions to be granted. ( The TSO is a highly gifted coven that is known to create vampires with multiple talents and therefore they are regulated and chosen very carefully. It would take a miracle and act of God to get in. )

                                                              Jonah & Vampirism

Content Warning: Body Horror & Self Mutilation

Jonah is the most affected by the concept of his vampirism because it follows such a cookie-cutter perfect model: 

He’s upset to learn that his finger has regenerated & that he can heal in ways a mortal could never dream of. 

( It’s not so much about the regenerating thing as it is - but, because that missing finger was supposed to be a painful reminder of how stupid he was when he let his guard down and what could happen if he wasn’t more discerning with his affection. He was cutting the root of the ‘problem & pain’ off at the source & now there it is every two weeks. ) 

For this reason, he routinely cuts it off after it’s done recovering. Grim, but a small ‘ fuck you ‘ to the universe.

The other thing that really annoys him is that he is no longer has to deal with his diabetes, which fucks with his routine and his idea of himself. ( Also, he’s a creature of habit & it causes a little anxiety & stress. ) 

It doesn’t help that he is outright told by Jasmine that she was ‘ fixing him & making him better than he was before ‘. All of this in the context that she didn’t view him as ‘ perfect a candidate for this sort of thing ‘ as he had considered his siblings. 

He makes it very clear he has never considered himself broken or imperfect to begin with & her implications that vampirism was somehow curing him of his ‘ defects ‘ was both insulting and hurtful. Both points, she sweeps under the rug telling him to ‘ grow up and deal with it ’. 

( Doubly hurtful considering she’s stunted his ability to ‘ grow-up ‘ at all & it’s not lost on him. Instead, it adds to his anger. )

For this reason, Jonah often comes across as withdrawn, mean & hostile in the Vampire AU. He resents Jasmine, his siblings for flawlessly accepting fate & vampirism itself.

Jonah sometimes forgets to eat and take care of himself. If he's gone a while without eating, Seth tries to make foods from Jonah's favorite animes and then puts the show/movie on for him to watch while he's eating so it keeps his appetite up.

Jonah totally thinks Cherry's personality matches Megumi Tadokoro's from Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma and Rosie's matches Hisako Arato, but with Sadatsuka Nao's aesthetic.

Jonah’s has only ever dated ( 1 ) guy ever & while they’re still cool with each other, it kinda hurt Jonah for a few months after. 

The rest of the family suspected nothing, because it was just a guy that he worked with at GameStop™. Jonah quickly got tired of being used for weed money though & finally just outright asked Cole if he actually liked him or was just using him to pick up the tab on his debts.  

Cole admitted that while he liked Jonah just fine, he was really just interested in messing around and keeping things super casual. They ended things pretty amicably though & it just turned into a bittersweet moment in his life.

       Jonah taught himself to play the acoustic guitar using books & youtube to guide him.

Lots of times, he sits on the balcony attached to he and Seth’s room to practice without annoying his sibling(s). He likes playing at night & when it’s raining usually.

If he’s sitting cross-legged on the balcony floor, he’ll usually pull his S.O. into his lap while he’s practicing. Sure, it’s a lot harder to play - but he manages for the most part. Sometimes he’ll take a break from singing ( while still somehow playing ) to nuzzle them or give them a full on smooch. 

He’ll also let them ‘ play ‘ - ( i.e. he’s still finding the chords and holding them while his S.O. plucks or strums. ) - even if they can’t keep up with the tempo of the song. He still tells them they’ve done a great job after the fact & they should play it again sometime.

                     Let’s Talk About Relationships ( Headcanon Meme ) || Accepting !!! 

🤗  - Are they physically affectionate? 

It takes Jonah awhile to feel safe in a relationship, but when he finally does start to be vulnerable around the person he likes / loves - he really can’t help but be physically affectionate. Once he feels sure of things he constantly wants to hold hands, or cuddle, or give kisses, or have them super close in general.

🎶  - Do they have a type?

In theory, it would be someone he can protect and not feel emasculated by. ( Really though ??? As long as someone is good to him, willing to wait for him to bring aspects of his past and personality up organically & they are loyal to him ... he doesn’t have a set type. 

😡  - What are their deal breakers?

Disloyalty, in every sense of the word. 

It cuts through him to his very core & will make him a ‘ Certified Ice King ‘ after he drops the relationship.

                                                 Headcanon: Jonah & The Betrayal™

Overview: Jonah was devastated after learning that Seth had purposefully deceived Eve ( Kristin ), by posing as him to test whether or not she would be able to tell them apart. She could not tell the difference: the result being she ended up sleeping with Seth instead. While, this directly culminates in the final fight between the twins: it is clear that Jonah does not completely hold Eve accountable for what happened. 

In this headcanon, I’ll break down several aspects of Jonah’s breakdown & the aftermath in post canon ... as it pertains to both his brother and ( former ) girlfriend ( ? ). 

Pertaining to: Seth Trimble -> Jonah was completely crushed to learn that his brother would be so cruel & to him of all people. At first, Jonah worked himself into a rage, which resulted in the ( one - sided ) fist fight with Seth at school. ( Predominately however, on the walk home he felt overwhelmingly numb. ) While Seth probably had no way of knowing how much he’d damaged his brother’s already fragile mental state - - - he certainly knew it would be a fatal blow to he and Jonah’s relationship.

** Post Canon: Jonah and Seth are separated after Detective Lampkin files an anonymous report to child protective services with instructions that both must be kept apart, by way of a fake psych evaluation. Jonah, after recovering in the hospital is sent several states away. Neither boy has contact with the other until well after they’ve grown to adulthood. In this time, Jonah has attempted to work out all the trauma he’d suffered until the point of the CPS extraction. ** 

Short - term effects: Jonah flies into a rage & attacks Seth in the courtyard at their school’s campus. Jonah also rebels against Seth’s commands after he arrives back home too - this angers Seth and sets the final fight into motion. 

Long - term effects: ** Post Canon - Jonah has a hard time bonding with ‘ the boys ‘ || other men in general for many reasons. This impacts how many friends he has as a support system when his mental illness flares. It also means that he doesn’t usually have the capacity to bond with people who possess an aggressive & dominant personality. If he does begin to make friends with someone like that, he quickly shuts them out of his life in an attempt to push them away & not recreate the situation from his youth. 

Jonah has a hard time with authority & knowing when to tone down the attitude when dealing with authority figures. 

Jonah also avoids || or diverts || conflict at all costs ... even if it’s at his own expense. He’s incredibly non-confrontational - if there’s a chance things get volatile or loud regardless, he tends to try to make himself smaller & evacuate the area if possible. If it becomes violent enough, he can lose his temper & control of the section of his brain that can distort reality, resulting in both confusion & fear from whoever the conflict is with. THIS IS NOT USUALLY DONE ON PURPOSE OR WITHOUT SOME TYPE OF WARNING. It takes way too much out of him to warp reality on his own & it doesn’t last too long, it’s more like experiencing a computer glitch in real life. Depending on the severity of the conflict, he may hastily leave the situation with no apology to breakdown alone somewhere. 

Jonah stays relatively numb to the world and those in it. It’s safer and easier to simply pass through this life with no baggage or connections to tie you down. 

Jonah no longer trusts anyone as easily as he did as a teenager & he typically keeps his defenses up. ( He has a hard time drawing boundaries just after being placed into his new home & it takes many years for him to learn it’s okay to have them, period. ) 

Jonah’s previous identity was that of ‘ The Twin Brother ‘ and it was all encompassing: after getting away from the situation - he loses his sense of identity and sometimes has issues with figuring himself out. 

Jonah suffers from PTSD, Anxiety & Chronic depression as an adult. 

Can the relationship with Seth be rebuilt ?: Yes, but there would always be a little residual resentment & ( if not anger ) frustration. There would also be a lot of boundaries and ‘ off - limits ‘ topics that they’d have to deal with eventually. 

Did he forgive this person ?: ... in part, when they believed they’d die, but yeah - - - that’s his shit-headed brother after all. Seth doesn’t know the extent of Jonah’s forgiveness though & it’s more on the shallow side. 

Pertaining to: Eve ( Kristin ) -> Jonah was blind-sided when Eve relayed what had happened the previous evening. After putting the pieces together, he realizes Seth gave him a slight overdose of insulin leading to a hypoglycemic crash, snuck out and impersonated him. He is particularly hurt by the fact Eve failed to recognize the sick trick after pointing out how the twins were different. He seems to hold Eve less accountable given the circumstances, though he is still very much angry it even happened. 

Short term effects: Jonah cuts the finger off that Eve placed the ring on ( sending it & the ring to her in a personalized box ), he also gives himself an impromptu patchy haircut, his eyes are red & puffy from crying so much. ( He is having a full on Britney™ level melt down & is reckless and destructive in one catastrophic fell swoop. )

Long term effects:

Permanently disfigured because the finger he cut off could not be attached again.

Jonah is typically uncomfortable & awkward in female company ... especially if they remind him of Eve in some way. 

Jonah’s self - esteem & takes a massive hit & he never fully recovers, often wondering what is wrong with him exactly. He has a hard time accepting compliments // flirtation for this reason & will clam up, or completely dismiss either. He becomes visibly uncomfortable in these situations and will quickly get away from them to ease his anxiety. 

Jonah doesn’t care for intimacy on any level - platonic, romantic, or otherwise. It makes him physically ill & can potentially trigger flashbacks to the day of the fight & what transpired before hand with Eve. While it can be cultivated and coaxed out of him over a long period of time & with someone he finds he can bond with, it still horrifies him to be vulnerable. 

Jonah’s self worth is almost non-existent, and while it may not be extremely evident because he dislikes forming relationships - he often settles for less than he deserves in many areas of his life. 

Jonah is incredibly paranoid, though he tends to keep most of his paranoia in his head, rarely vocalizing it. As a matter of fact, Jonah has a problem vocalizing many of his genuine feelings & he suffers them alone. 

Can the relationship be rebuilt ?: Not romantically, but he could form a close friendship with her again with relative ease, surprisingly. Remember, he didn’t hold her as accountable as his brother & that’s the deciding factor. 

Did he forgive this person ?: Yes, actually. That’s why he attempted to keep Seth from hurting her during the fight & why he actively tried to fight his brother off before they fall through the ceiling.

While Jonah is supposed to come across as the more likable of the Trimble twins, it’s important to keep in mind that until he had decided to pursue Eve romantically, he was completely fine with the premise & execution of the project - ( and, subsequently its participants ).

That should be pretty obvious considering he & Seth target Katie again to keep her from talking to Detective Lampkin any further.

As a matter of fact, I imagine that while he went along with murdering Kirby … he’d already decided that was the last part of Seth’s project he was participating in.

( I mean, I only assume he was done because of his body language while Seth was filming Kirby’s death. After getting interrogated by the detective, he finally tells his brother that he’s done. )

Until that point though, he’s just as awful as Seth & I don’t want anyone to forget that.
