💘💫🦋🎀🤲🪄
@gloomybow1
💘 - is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write?
*looks at all of them* i mean-
i'm always learning new things so i guess all of them? i'd love to work on old drafts or revisit them some time, especially ones i could never get through due to my own writing style ( trust me, i was such a goofy ass writer back then so writing pain was like...so hard. now? angst is easy XD ).
but if i were to pick names? it would be this old levi x reader i had posted on my wattpad three years ago ( then deleted ). while i am still not into attack on titan, i really liked the concept.
then there was a demon zhongli concept i was working on and whoo, okay yeah that needed a lot of brushing off too so never posted it ( help ).
in short...a lot...XD
💫 - what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?
anything. keyboard smashing, plain old compliments, fangirling/boying, whatever it is, i will eat up.
BUT i am biased towards the tears of my reader ehehehehe.
🦋 - what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?
the grammar and sentence structure. it's always that, alongside the word count. i always try to push myself to write a little more ( and memory, my zhongli wip is a step towards that ). but yea, it's grammar, since english is not my first language.
🎀 - give yourself a compliment about your own writing.
i like how it makes people cry.
i am a sadist.
yes.
🤲 - what do YOU get out of writing?
honestly? a lot of things. satisfaction? check, and finishing a draft always made me feel really good about myself, so there's that too. that and it is a bit of a stress reliever and i genuinely love putting my ideas on paper.
...but...procrastination...

what if i said multiples of 5 for the writing asks 👀
What if you did say that? Most of them are below the cut cause I don't know when to shut up 💕
and here are the writing asks for anyone else who wants to send some
5. What's a tag you never want to use for your works even when it applies?
Angst, like just the straight up angst tag for some reason I'm worried is going to deter people from reading so I end up softening it with something else instead. So it's always fluff and angst or angst with a happy ending.
10. Top three favourite fic tropes.
Enemies to lovers, Soulmates, Fake Dating - this was the hardest one to answer. It's like getting asked what your favorite book is and you don't remember how to read or what books look like.
15. What's your favourite plotless fic you have written?
This describes half of my catalog, plot I do not know her it is only vibes.
I'm gonna go with the bells, the joy (together in darkness) my Stobin hivemind fic which is plotless in the sense that it's more of an exploration of new Stobin unity and what a hivemind with humans would even look like. And any time I get to write Steve and Robin I have a good time
20. Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?
Many at the same time, it does not work for me but it is what I do all the same. My writing tracker (where everything goes once more than 10 words have been written on a project) has 33 entries currently from the last year or so that are unfinished and in varying stages of progress. But if I start something and don't finish it immediately esp one shots they tend to get abandoned on the pile.
At least until they're lucky enough to grab my attention on a procrastination re-read and I finish them in one sitting (looking at you have your cake)
25. Is writing the whole thing beforehand better or worse than writing it as you go?
For me personally, I have unfortunately realized I have to have the whole thing or almost the whole thing completely written beforehand. I think I may be used to be able to publish as I wrote (like back in high school when I was writing The Mentalist stuff on ff.net under a pseud none of you will ever find). But with my chronic pick it up and abandon it once i'm bored disease I'm just to bad about actually finishing stuff. (RIP mi media naranja some day I will at least post the other chapters I have written that I've felt too bad about posting since it's been so long. but also i still want to finish you)
30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.
I hate saying it didn't happen, because if it's a Wip in my folder there's always a chance I'll finish it one of these days. And I'm so one track minded that I rarely make massive changes to fics once I start them that drastically alter the plot from what they could have been.
That said it's been so long since I've written anything for Vandal that I feel pretty safe describing this Wip that will possibly never see the light of day.
It was one of those fics where the title comes to you first, y'know. So it was going to be called intricate rituals and it was a soulmate and magic au, convoluted already I know, where soulmates amplify your natural abilities through proximity and touch. Gabi has found hers in Jenna and Sam is a little upset about it. So he performs an ~intricate ritual~ that's supposed to bring his soulmate to him. This is of course where Peter comes in and they bond interpersonally but never touch because of character anxieties and social taboos so they don't realize they're soulmates for ages. There was probably also going to be a miscommunication element where they've touched but not touched like a hand through a shirt not counting it has to be skin on skin contact.
35. Thoughts on writing challenges/contests.
I enjoy them! I always end up trying (and usually failing) nanowrimo every year. I've participated in both a big bang and reverse bang now, and am currently white knuckling my way through this year's steddie bang. I like a challenge to get more creative and a deadline and accountability to actually finish something with some plot.
40. Write a 9-word fic.
Eyes met for a first time, Steve's first time.
#was going for a time loop thing in my 9 words does that read#or do I sound like I dont know what sentences are#it's no baby shoes that's for sure#bec.txt

hi winter!
i was wondering as i was working on my current wip, how long do you let your fics sit/ how long do you edit before you post them?
do you prefer just writing them and posting or taking your time?
anyways i hoe you have a good day/afternoon/night!💜
Heyyyy, sorry that I'm so late to answer this!!
I need a long time to actually post something. The first draft is usually written fast because I have all these ideas I NEED to put down in words. But that means there are lots and lots of typos and mistakes. I'm not good at typing fast. So I have to edit everything to make it readable enough for Grammarly to check it lol.
After the first Grammarly check, I re-read what I wrote to look for mistakes the program didn't find, and while doing that, I also edit the plot. Meaning I try to make the writing sound good to me and make it make sense. I change words or edit whole sentences. I often re-write things or add some more details or delete some parts. After that, it goes through Grammarly once again. And then I re-read it again and again and again aaaahhh.
I hate editing so much tbh. I read my own story so often that it becomes boring. That's why I often procrastinate the editing, especially when the story or chapters are longer than 2k. It can be very overwhelming to me.
So yes, I prefer to take my time. I must feel 100% sure about the story before posting it. Last year I made the mistake of posting a story before I reached that point, and so I had to go back to edit it after posting lmaooo it was nerve-wracking and super stressful, so I will never do that again!
If it's a drabble or short headcanons, I can finish the whole thing in a day. But longer stories take a lot of time.
I hope you have fun working on your wips!! Have an amazing day!! <3<3<3

for the ask meme!!
Warning: there are a lot of questions I'm asking xD (I hope you don't mind) I literally wrote down all of the questions that have been asked then made a list of all the ones I want to know that weren't asked yet SO! here we go:
3. what’s a wip that you’ve procrastinated on the longest? why?
4. what’s a wip that’s fairly easy for you to get back into writing? why?
9. what are you struggling with the most in finishing your current wip(s)?
10. how many wips do you actually have right now?
11. are there some wips that you just don’t think you’ll ever finish?
12. what’s a wip that you’re determined to finish?
18. do you have people encouraging you to write?
19. do you have a point person when you’re trying to bounce off ideas/voice your issues with your wip?
22. when do you know you’re really in a writing frenzy?
24. do you have a writer you look up to in terms of writing routines/style?
25. is there a wip you’ve re-written?
hello old friend!!
wip ask game
3. what’s a wip that you’ve procrastinated on the longest? why?
i've procrastinated on writing a Regulus Black Lives AU for the longest, i think, because it's filled with lots of opportunities. sometimes it's overwhelming but I'm finally getting over it. started writing it, actually!!
4. what’s a wip that’s fairly easy for you to get back into writing? why?
recently started a WIP with Fred and George finding about the marauders by themselves and that's a fairly easy story for me to write and get back into because it's mostly dialogue (even though I'm pants at dialogue - i think it's the carefree vibes mixed with angst + low expectation from myself that makes it so easy) and humor.
9. what are you struggling with the most in finishing your current wip(s)?
i'm struggling with finishing them! moving forward! getting to the middle! stop editing the beginning!!
10. how many wips do you actually have right now?
uhhhh this is a VERY personal question—jk, ofc it isn't, but the amount of WIPs i actually have is......astounding, to say the least. 23.
(what counts as a WIP for me is a minimal amount of 500 words written and a vague outline for the future in the story. most of these have more than 2k words though.)
11. are there some wips that you just don’t think you’ll ever finish?
yes!! there are some i abandoned specifically, but most wips I'm not sure i'll ever be able to finish because i have this habit of jumping from one idea to another,, can never focus on just one WIP.
12. what’s a wip that you’re determined to finish?
i'm determined to finish at least 5-6 of my wips. this year. but one wip I'm extremely extremely determined to finish is the ghost Regulus Black AU and the rscandyhearts fic. (oops that's two!)
18. do you have people encouraging you to write?
yeah!! my lovely friends <3
19. do you have a point person when you’re trying to bounce off ideas/voice your issues with your wip?
sometimes! i have this discord friend who's always been really considerate in listening me talk about my wips and there's @limetimo who's only ever heard of my ideas that never got actually written down, squeed about it + other friends too :)
22. when do you know you’re really in a writing frenzy?
answered it here !
24. do you have a writer you look up to in terms of writing routines/style?
yes, many!! all my mutuals are EXCELLENT EXCELLENT writers, be it description, dialogue, characterisation, or world building; [seriously if you're reading this know that every “Number, Day of the Week Sentence Challenge” that you do (or don't!) i LOVE getting to read your snippets, and the FICS!! look up to all of you <3] and besides that, i have a couple book writers and poetry writers that come into mind!
25. is there a wip you’ve re-written?
yep! I've done rewrites but also almost every wip goes through a rewrite before posting. not a complete rewrite but a thorough edit, that's almost like a rewrite. if that makes sense.....
thank you for asking!!

uhm for the ask thingy I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS ?? if you don't mind of course. also gonna be real, I don't remember any of the numbers but alas!
6, 7, 13, 17 and 21! :)
AAAH hello! I don't mind at all, thank u for asking so many questions! :D talking about fics and writing is always fun :3
6. Do you outline your fics? If so, how?
This just kind of depends on the fic! I never used to, I used to just get a vague idea in my head and start writing, and things would come together in their own way. Now I tend to outline in some way, even if it is minimal - usually though, I write out a bullet point skeleton of the fic from start to finish, with extra detail for scenes I know I want to include or images that are very clear in my head.
From there I just start putting meat on the bones. I write in order as much as possible, though sometimes I'll leave small transition sections that I'm struggling with and come back to them later. I also write dialogue first in scenes that have a lot of it, because I don't want to lose the flow of the conversation trying to write all the narrative in between (I hate dialogue so much so when it feels like it's going well, I have to get it all down quickly lol).
7) How do you edit your fics? What do you look for in your edits?
I'm guilty of being the laziest editor known to man honestly. While I'm writing, I'll usually highlight bits that I'm not overly happy with (sentences I think could be worded better or scenes that could use more details, actions or dialogue that feel ooc etc) so that I know what I need to come back to once I'm finished. And I usually try and give my fics a read through to look for any typos (and inevitably miss half of them anyway), but otherwise I don't really edit very much.
The only exception is SOWK, but I really accidentally gave myself the best circumstances for editing that one hshshs. Because I initially wrote it for a different pairing and different fandom I was forced to at least go through and change all the character names, descriptions, and pronouns, and I also had to change a lot of dialogue and actions to keep everything in character. I had also written it over such a long period of time that I didn't cringe reading most of it back, which is what normally holds me back from editing.
13) Are you a fast or slow writer?
I guess that depends on how you look at it lol. I would say I am a fast writer but also a very guilty procrastinator. When I eventually sit down and focus, and get into a flow, I can write a lot in a short space of time!
17) Do you have any wips that you can tell us about? What are you most excited for in you wip?
I have a seemingly endless number of wips for various fandoms, but picking one to talk about is hard! For levihan, I'm working on a lighthearted lockdown fic (for @littlelasagne!) and for I had an old eren & mikasa fic I've always wanted to go back to. For Haikyuu, I have a few half-completed things I'd like to see through to the end (Kghn howls moving castle AU, bkak friends with benefits AU), and I'm playing around with SOWK to see if I can re-write it with original characters. I have another original WIP too but I've not made any steps towards writing it, just creating the characters and building their world. I'm most excited to be able to finish any of them and share with with everyone :D
21) Writers choice - pick any of these questions that you want to answer.
For this I chose 11: What perspective do you write from most and/or least and why? (1st, 3rd limited, 3rd omniscient, deep pov, etc)
I almost exclusively write in 3rd person limited! I have experimented with others (my eren&mikasa wip is in 1st person, and I have an old...weird...Armin fic in 2nd person) but I always come back to this, it's really my favourite. I don't know that I have a very good reason for preferring it over 1st person the than personal preference - both let me dive more deeply into how the character is feeling in a way 3rd omniscient doesn't, without the clunkiness that I feel sometimes comes with 1st person fics.

Dan the Personal Assistant Epilogue
1038 words
on ao3
~Part 13~
“Wake up, boy.”
Dan groaned, sprawling his body to Phil’s side of the bed.
“Do you want a spanking?” Phil chided, buttoning up his own shirt.
Dan made a sound that was like a whine, but it was muffled into the pillow.
“What was that?” Phil lightly smacked his butt through the blanket.
“No Sir,” Dan grumbled, finally sitting up.
“Hey, at least you don’t actually have to go anywhere,” Phil kissed his forehead, “I wish I could stay home and work here with you.”
“I wish you could stay here with me too,” Dan pouted, looking downright precious as he rubbed his eyes.
Dan dragged himself out of bed to walk Phil to the door. They kissed goodbye and Phil left for work. He opened the blinds and let the morning light warm the home - their home. He was still amused by the spiderman on the cord, and didn’t think he’d ever lose the humour for it.
After their New York trip, Phil had asked him to move in with him. It was harder than he’d thought to part with his simple and empty tiny apartment. He’d still had the mindset that he didn’t deserve what he’d consider high-class living in Phil’s penthouse. He’d never get used to it, he’s a simple guy, he’d thought. But he’d be mad to want to stay in an empty bed alone at night when he could be wrapped in Phil’s warmth instead. About a year later, and he’s settled in great. Phil always told him that he used to keep decorating this place yet it never felt complete, until Dan moved in. Now, Dan added on to their growing knick-knack collection, making this - their - place as whole as it could be.
He got dressed and had a quick breakfast before going to the office room. He’d been so afraid of what the future held once he was ‘laid off’ as Phil’s assistant. But Phil made sure he had nothing to worry about. Phil guided him to find his interests. He’d thought he’d never have passion in anything. He’d viewed himself as a failure ever since he dropped out of university anyway.
Phil was so kind that he broke down and told Phil that Phil didn’t deserve to have a boyfriend this dependent on him. But Phil wanted to take care of him, and Dan had no choice but to learn to embrace being taken care of.
Dan didn’t have the qualifications to work in the field he liked, so Phil signed him up for a part-time degree. It was easier for Dan to handle after a bad university experience. He liked that half of the course was online and the pace was slower so that he had time to do other things.
Things like getting a job.
Phil had insisted he could help Dan with the tuition fees.
“You’re my boyfriend, not my ATM,” Dan had retorted.
He had quite a sum from his stint as Phil’s assistant to pay off the fees, but he still wanted to be useful and help with his share of the house bills. So he worked whenever Phil was at work too and he didn’t have classes; it was better than staying home alone anyway.
His online class lasted for 3 hours, and though he loved his new course compared to his previous attempt at a degree, school was still school and he wanted nothing but a nap sometimes.
But he stayed at his desk and worked on his assignment instead. He’d asked Phil to help him - make sure he woke up for his lessons, didn’t procrastinate his assignments, studied for his tests. He did not want to fail his second attempt at school. Phil took the role very seriously. Sometimes Dan found it cute how Phil, an accounting graduate, tried to help him with psychology notes. Other times, it was less cute when Phil threatened to spank him or lock his dick for weeks if he didn’t study. But Dan had asked him for such help, and he was glad that he had Phil for some kind of kinky discipline.
Sometimes, he’d procrastinate on purpose just to get that spanking, but he would never tell Phil.
This time though, he made sure he finished his assignment before he had to leave for work.
-------------------
“Nice to see you’re finally early for once,” Frank said, rather surprised as he took his seat across the table from Phil in the coffee shop.
Phil was already buried in his laptop, preparing the documents he wanted to share with Frank. He huffed at Frank’s comment, but didn’t rebut it. His cup was already half empty, indicating to Frank that he’d left the office and was sitting here for a while before lunchtime already. Surprisingly, it wasn’t caramel macchiato like what Frank would’ve expected Phil to drink.
Frank glanced at the counter, and nothing was surprising anymore.
“Ahh, you got the seasonal special drink from the special barista, did you,” Frank smirked.
Phil rolled his eyes, but he smiled anyway. “He can make you one too.”
Before Frank even ordered, his special coffee came his way.
“On the house,” Dan smiled at Frank, the same way he’s given Frank’s drink every time they came here for lunch or work while his shift was on.
Frank had insisted to pay lots of times, but to Dan, no amount of free coffee could ever repay how Frank had helped him and Phil back in New York.
“It’s the least I can do,” Dan would always answer as he refused payment.
“I was only being a snoopy busybody,” Frank had moped the first time, as he put his card back into his wallet. These days, he’d cheekily offer to pay just to see Dan get annoyed about how it’s the hundredth time I’m telling you, Frank, you don’t have to!
“Thanks, love,” Phil replied before Frank could this time, “see you at home later tonight.”
Dan all but beamed at him. Who would’ve known he’d end up here, happier than he could ever remember with everything he’d ever need and a love he’d never dreamed of getting, all because he accidentally sent a wrong - not to mention incredibly embarrassing - job application video?
----------------------------
The end :,)
When I wrote the summary as “But what happens when he accidentally sends a wrong video?” I never thought it’d end up this way either lmao.
This fic was born solely because of a prompt sent in which made me want to write office smut and nothing more. But somewhere along the way, between irl dan & phil coming out, me graduating uni and starting a proper job and losing free time to write, and the occasional discussion on the morality of writing phansmut in a post-coming out universe, I just kinda lost the motivation to write this.
But I hate abandoning fics, I know the feeling as a reader of one too many abandoned WIPs. I tried continuing but I started hating this fic, I never (still don’t tbh) understood how this ended up one of my popular ones. I can’t read back on this work because I can pinpoint the exact moment I lost inspiration/motivation and had no idea where the hell I was going with the fic lol, and wished I wrote those parts differently.
Then it took a whole pandemic for me to finally have free time off work so I decided to give this story another try. This resulted in the story having such a prominent shift from the beginning parts (to me anyway, a lot of you have reassured me that the story still flows well, thank you for that because I can’t bear to re-read and see things from my perspective lol). And I started having a bit more fun with it again, learning to write a bit more plotty things instead of pure smut.
I hope I did this fic some justice. It may not have been what I had in mind when I started it, but I can say I’m quite glad with how it turned out in the end :) For what’s originally meant to be only a smut work, it sure got me reflecting a lot lmao. I guess it’s because so much has changed in the past 2 years - like, imagine telling Me who was writing Chapter 1 that Dan would come out in a few months and confuse my whole conscience on writing phansmut lmao???
And thank you so much for still reading despite the long breaks and everything in between. All your interactions with the fic, every like, reblog and ask, were the main thing motivating me to even continue! It really does make me happy to see that there are so many of you who enjoy this (totally not worthy imo lol).
I don’t know what 2021 has in store in terms of fic writing, but I hope you stick around if I ever do come up with new works :) And if you have an idea you’d like to share with me, please do!! This fic wouldn’t have been born if not for a prompt after all :)
Thank you and I hope the remainder of 2020 will treat you kinder than the rest of the year had been <3 (wow this is a long end note lmao)

For the writer's ask game, All Odd numbers 😁 no need to answer all if too many. Just wanna hear ur ideas on somee 😁imiss your fanficssss
omg idk if i love you or hating for asking so many questions in one goXD Aww i’m still writing, just veeery slowly... and i’ve had a few very rough weeks (mostly bc of work) so i haven’t had much energy or motivation at all - trying to get back into it so i can write the whole weekend!
1. Do you listen to music when you write?
Sometimes. It depends! Sometimes it helps get into the mood or avoid distraction, but sometimes the music makes me think of other plot ideas which is highly distracting *sweats* Lately, i’ve listened a lot to imagine dragons while writing!
3. Computer or pen and paper?
computer. i have some notebooks with old stuff written down, barely readable. why did i write plotlines in pink?? can’t read it at all lol
5. How much writing do you get done on an average day?
haha.. on average it’s like, nothing. but if i actually have time to write that day, it can be anything from 200 words to 4,000. usually i don’t get to more than 4K in one day for some reason (unless i switch fics to write on lol). maybe 1,000 words is a fairly accurate average!
7. Standalone or series?
usually standalones. i’ve only written one sequel in my life and it’s not even finished (Missing pieces)
9. Current WIP
The sun within me, Lessons in love, For You My Sun, Sugar Star are the ones waiting for new chapters. i’ve got a couple unpublished/unfinished WIPs in my folder... we’ll see if i manage to finish them at some point but i don’t really dare to describe them in case someone would actually want to read them
11. Books and/or authors who influenced you the most
hmm tough question. i grew up reading authors like David Eddings, Eoin Colfer, Tamora Pierce, i went down and checked my bookcase and those three are actually the ones still on display haha. of course i read books like harry potter and narnia etc. too. lots of fantasy basically - and lots and lots of horse books, but i don’t think you can tell in my writing lol. Ender’s game by Orson Scott Card is a favorite, as well as the hobbit and The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss. when i studied Finnish in university i had to branch out and read books i would never choose myself, and that really influenced me to broaden my perspective so to say. last book i read was probably Wayward son by Rainbow Rowell (i’m a sucker for sad gay vampires apparently). i also read a ton of murder mysteries like agatha christie when i was younger.
plus, all the manga i read - dragon ball and naruto and love hina and yaoi and god knows what
13. Describe your writing process from idea to polished
oh dear. i usually get an idea that goes sth like “wouldn’t it be hilarious if...” and then it spirals out of control. like, my first long fanfic, Results of a shitty day, was literally me saying “you know what? i want to write a long drama fic like all those other cool authors do” and there was no plan besides at all at first.
i tend to just write a first chapter and then have a general idea of what i want to explore - a certain character growing a certain way, or a certain trope, or just the one scene that won’t go away. For The sun within me, it was literally “hey what if i wrote naruto and sasuke in the road to ninja universe” and for Lessons in love it was “man i really want a fic where Yurio is Viktor’s son and they’re fanboys of Yuuri’s skating”, and me rambling to a friend in the car about it until i was forced to sit down and write it. i definitely make up the plot as i go. every time i decide the plot in advance i end up changing it anyway (yes, this happens even for oneshots sometimes). i love planning though - so much that i constantly re-plan the stories and plan the chapter while writing it too.
15. How do you deal with writer’s block?
badly. i’m a procrastinator. usually i switch between stories, if that doesn’t work, i try to write sth new, usually that doesn’t work and i end up reading fics until i’m convinced i can never write as well as other people can. and then i just have to take a break until my brain goes ping! and i can write again.
17. What writing habits or rituals do you have?
i think the only habit i have is getting easily distracted. *cough*
19. How do you keep yourself motivated?
i’m constantly writing in my head - daydreaming if you want to call it that. typing is very difficult, but i’m usually motivated by the fact that there’s nothing better than to sit down after a long day and just enjoy a really good fic about your OTP, and since people enjoy my writing i can’t just quit and rob them of this. i can’t just enjoy fandom without paying back when i actually have the possibility to do so. it usually works!! also, when i type, the story takes shape in a way it doesn’t in my head, which is actually really cool so i read my own stuff now and then just to remind me of this.
21. Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?
Sasuke
23. Favourite author
hmm i don’t have just one. or do they mean fanfic author? well i wouldn’t be able to choose either way!
25. Favourite part of writing
when i manage to type a scene the way i pictured it in my head. and when i just write without a plan and things start to make sense!
27. Favourite line/scene
actually, every single scene in The sun within me is my favorite lol
29. Favourite villain
does Sasuke count? no? i’ll say Baz in the Carry On series
31. Least favourite part of writing
the first sentence of a fic or chapter. getting started is the hardest!!
33. Have you ever killed a main character?
i wrote a drabble with naruto and sasuke in the afterlife once. i don’t think i’ve actually killed anyone???
35. What scene/story are you least looking forward to writing?
the next chapter for Lessons in love is giving me a lot of trouble currently :(
37. First sentence or your current WIP
This is the first sentence of chapter 16, Lessons in love: Their last full day in Hasetsu passes in a blur.
And this is the first sentence if a yoi smut fic i’ll post when i finally finish ch 16 for LiL: The metro is always crowded at this time, and Yuuri hates it.
Don’t tell anyone i’m working on yet another smut fic for yoi.
Aaaand this is the first sentence of a sasnar fic i’m writing on when i’m too tired to actually write anything seriously: Sasuke was surprised to find that he was not the only one to be summoned to the Hokage’s office.
I know it was an earlier question, but i actually have something like 17 WIPs in my WIP folder that are not posted in any part yet, of which most will probably never see the light of day.
39. Weirdest character concept you’ve ever had
hmm i don’t know
41. Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?
i have much advice. but i don’t think any of it is very original. the most important thing - there’s no such thing as failure when you’re writing fanfic. write what you want and when you want, the only way to get better is to keep writing! i just re-read an old story to see if it was worth editing and copying over onto ao3, and realized i had used the word “pinkette” to describe sakura. we all start somewhere... and if you ever look back on old fics, focus on how much you enjoyed writing the fic, not if it’s good or not!!
43. What do you do if/when characters don’t follow the outline?
if they don’t, it’s generally because they’re right and i’m not. forcing them back into the outline only makes for awkward writing. i always go along with it to see where it goes - sometimes it ends up somewhere much better than planned, sometimes you realize you’ve made mistakes way back in the fic and now you’re stuck with the choice of changing the plot or going back to rewrite.
45. How much world building do you do?
i actually hate world building. and describing things like scenery and places and clothes. i’ve had to really force myself to work on it. but i also make sure that i only give the absolute necessary information and then slip in the rest in bits and pieces where it fits. but since i mostly write in already set worlds, it’s usually not that necessary.
47. Best way to procrastinate
look at fics and put them in my marked for later and then procrastinate reading them by working on WIPs that are not my published WIPs and then procrastinate those WIPs by finding new fics to read and then maybe re-read my own fics. oh, and scrolling through social media
(i don’t actually have a lot of time to procrastinate bc it’s usually work-take care of horse-shower and dinner-sleep)
49. Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?
Phichit. so much fun!!!
Wow, that was a lot of questions and a lot of fun!! Sorry for the super long post you have to scroll by lol
Thank you for asking!!!

1, 3, 9, 15 for the WIP meme! Either long way round or the HP au...or both! ;) or any other WIP you'd rather answer for.
Well, since you gave me the option, and there’s nothing I want to do more than procrastinate on cleaning my apartment... both it is!
1. What made you write your WIP?
The Harry Potter AU all started as a headcanon post Marcia made (link). I think me jumping into her inbox to yell excitably about her headcanons might have actually been the first time we talked? But anyway, a day or two later and we decided to write a fic together. She brings all the legitimate Harry Potter knowledge (and most of the ideas), I bring the... enthusiasm?
As for The Long Way Round, I first started brainstorming the story back in... April of 2018? May, maybe? I was finishing up This History of Ours, and knew I wanted a break before jumping into another long-form fic, but I’m a serial planner so I had to have something bubbling away in the back of my brain. After covering their past with my first fic, I wanted to do something more forward-looking - and ideally, something to remove my worry that their relationship would simply tail off after retirement. Hence the three year time gap, and the fix-it fic!
(Then I spent the whole of my summer after graduation sitting in the climbing frame in my parents’ garden, drafting the story. It was a pretty great summer).
3. How has the WIP changed between starting it and where it is now?
The HP AU has barely changed at all. We outlined the entire fic at the beginning, so we have a good idea of the story beats we’re working towards. I think the only major change we made was to add in Tessa and Scott’s version of magic. I wrote the scene on a whim, showed it to Marcia, and she was like “YES PLEASE LET’S DO IT”.
The Long Way Round was always changing, particularly the first half of the story (up to chapter 11/12 or so). It took me a long time to decide exactly what happened in those three years - and then when I changed things, it meant going back and re-drafting scenes to fit the new timeline. I’m pretty certain now that what I’ve got is what I’m sticking with!
9. Who is your favourite character to write?
For the HP AU, definitely Scott. He’s such a goofball, and adding magic into the mix makes it even more fun. But in The Long Way Round, it has to be Tessa. I think she’s an fascinating person. So much of her is kept internalised, or only displayed through micro-expressions and shifts in body language. Being able to explore that inner monologue through her POV is my absolute favourite.
15. Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
From the HP AU:
He pushes again, further, and there’s no air left in his lungs - the world is spinning around him, and he’s trying to spot like he does on the ice but there’s nothing to latch on to, no hand under his.
From LWR:
“I’m pregnant and carrying your child.”
“That’s nice.”

Writing Process tag game
Tagged by @gothyringwald! Thank you ^_^
1. What are your favourite genres and/or styles to write in?
I recently discovered I actually LOVE magical realism. I really like world building like that. But most of all I like writing about people and relationships, so within that, anything really
2. What was the last writing project you finished and felt successful with?
I get a total buzz from finishing anything, often because I’m super excited about starting on the next thing! I think Wicked Boys, though - it’s just the first draft that’s finished, but I’m really pleased with how it turned out. The Forest Hotel, as well, I finished that quite a while ago but I still feel really positive about it, which is unheard of for me lol! My friend has finished the front cover art, so hopefully I’ll be able to publish it soon! But the most surprising success was Nature of Trust, because it’s STILL gathering hits and kudos like crazy, it didn’t slow down after I finished uploading, and I can’t even quite figure out why?! I feel like I hit on some magic formula there and I’m fascinated lol!
3. If you have a WiP how do you feel it’s going? What stage are you in?
Oh dear, hold on people. So I’ve got 2 original novels that are about 1/3 the way through. One of them I recently got enthusiastic about again, but I nearly cried when I re-read the first few chapters. They were shit. I’ve convinced myself to move past that - that’s a problem for second draft Lyndsay - and just write the damn thing.
I’ve got a couple of first drafts that need transcribing so I can upload them - Wicked Boys, which is my current baby, Golden Prince, and Living the Dream (shit, I need to be writing that like now, so I can upload tomorrow...)
I’ve got a Drarry novel which might ACTUALLY turn into an epic re-write of the entire HP series, oops. I’m only on book 1 as well, so... it’s getting there?
There’s a short story I promised my daughter, too, I should really prioritise that...
Oh, yeah, I forgot about Zero Degrees! I have a few extra chapters to add, and a bunch of edits, but I’m hoping to publish that next year
I have too many WIPs!
4. What are your favourite places to write?
I write my first drafts in notebooks (literally because I like buying pretty notebooks...) so I actually end up writing in some lovely places, like a hill where I walk my dog! My dedicated writing place is in a golf club cafe I go to after my karate lesson (random, know), they make the best BLT baguettes, and the old dudes there tease me and ask me when I’m going to write a book about them
5. Do you prefer to write with long hand or type? Or some other method?
If it’s something long I usually write in a notebook, because I kinda like having physical evidence of the VOLUME of shit I write! Also I really like pretty notebooks. Also also, it forces me to finish a first draft - I can’t edit as easily as I can on a laptop. And then when I type it up it forces me to second draft it, I spot things that don’t flow better than if I was just reading through
6. Do you remember your first character? If so can we meet them?
Yes! I used to write stories and pass them around my school, and the first one I wrote was about a girl who lived as a stowaway in a container ship like some pre-teen phantom of the opera on the fucking ocean! I actually don’t know if I ever finished the story, but she was trippy. First story I know for sure that I finished was about a bus crash where one girl nearly dies and her body is taken over by an angel so she can heal. It’s mostly from the POV of the boy who had a crush on her and who goes slightly crazy noticing the similarities and differences between this girl’s character before and after. I mean that was trippy AF too, I’m not even sure what was going on there... I was clearly a little edgelord already...
7. Where do you get your inspiration?
I really don’t know, half the time. Daydreaming. Something will set me off and I’ll take tangent after tangent until BAM, I’m re-writing the story of how my great-grandfather walked half way across Kenya with a donkey and a wooden leg, only now he’s gay and he and his Masai friend rescue a kid from an abusive household.
8. Do you outline a story before writing it, or does it all live in your head until the first draft gets put down?
So much outline. The reason being, I have so many random ideas that if I started all of them I’d go crazy. So instead I have a book full of tangled mind-maps (my header photo is an example), and once they’re outlined there, they can hibernate for years before I get started, but they don’t go away. If I just let them live in my head I’d lose them! I also have a book dedicated to doing character notes, like backstories and random bits of info that will probably never make it into the story but which give me a good idea of who the person is before I try to write them - otherwise they tend to be a bit two dimensional. @salamanderink gave me that idea by asking me loads of questions about some of my Zero Degrees characters!
9. Where do you go/ What do you do when you’re feeling stuck?
I just leave it alone, write something else or absolutely nothing. I don’t try to push it any more. I think I used to, because I was scared of losing momentum, but now I’ve got this backlog of ideas, I know that if I ever run out of inspiration at least I’ve got starting points for loads of new ones! I don’t know if that’ll change in the future, but it seems to be OK for right now. I sometimes change and do a bit of drawing for a while instead, that usually loosens me up
10. What got you started writing/doing Art? (Because I always love origin stories)
I’ve kept a diary since I was 6 or so, on and off, but consistently since I was 11. That just sort of turned into me writing stories, somehow. I remember writing in my diary ‘nothing interesting ever happens so I’m going to write down my daydreams until I get a boyfriend or something’. Then IDK, some of the kids a couple of years below me in high school found some of my stories, and asked if they could share them around, and I started sewing them up to hand out - I’ve still got all of them! Some of them were fucking dark...
We had a talk by an author one day, and he asked if anyone wanted to be a professional writer. I put my hand up (and got teased by the assholes in my class afterwards, because apparently the boys in my class were actual baby boomers and didn’t think writing was a real job - like mate, you’re 15, what do you care?!) but this dude looked at me with a super intense expression and said ‘never stop writing’. So I didn’t. And I self-pub my original stuff, and get my regular dose of validation on AO3, and writing is my most effective coping mechanism. Tadaa!
Tagging @slytherinvalues, @turned-her-brain, @salamanderink, @elizabethhollowswriting and @soz or whoever else wants to do this and needs to procrastinate as much as I do ;)

wip discussion!
Thank you so much for the tag on this, @maybetheyrefireproof !! There’s nothing more satisfying than procrastinating from writing by talking about writing instead of writing. I still hesitate to tag people in these in case it’s writing pressure for you but please invoke me as your tagger if you wanna do it! I wanna read it!
List all the things you’re currently working on in as much or little detail as you’d like, then tag some friends to see what they’re working on. This can be writing, art, vids, gifsets, whatever.
Things I’m Actively Writing:
WOLF FICS. Fluff and wolfish magic, woods and cookies and intimacy. These are the third and fourth (final) pieces in my absurd wolf au (The Woods Are Lovely, Dark and Deep). I have not found the muse for these, it’s been really frustrating. I’m worried about how intense I’ve made the emotions, and whether I can resolve them? These were supposed to be indulgent!!!! Now they’re a pain in my butt! I’m torn between keeping it quite gentle or diving into the harsher plot I imagined. The tag on my blog for this is #these super fluffy wolf boys
POLY FIC. Character humor and lgbt identity, social anxiety and brunch and friendship and wanting too many things at once. This WIP is probably going to be in the 30-40k range. It’s a Harry/Zayn/Louis story told in rotating POV through all three characters. I wanted to write something that was super character- and relationship-focused, without any magic or stardom. I also decided to explore my feelings around coming out late and feeling lost in the LGBT community especially in the context of feeling like....a complicated person who was often wanted but not often understood, who wants a lot of things, and the guilt associated with that. It’s aggressively set in San Francisco so it’s also me trying to reflect on the last couple of years of my life working in SF, and what a struggle that’s been in loneliness. The tag for this on my blog is #the fic of bad feelings and #just really getting into the zouis vibe and #poly fic
X-MEN CROSSOVER AU. Plot! X-Men, action, science, pining, humor, sacrifice, love and angst and brokenness. This is the Big Fic that I’ve been planning since I finished Symphony Hall. It’s probably gonna be around 80k, I’m still outlining it now and I mean I am TIGHTLY outlining this, I want it to be planned down to each scene, which is a discipline that’s hard but good for me. This is the piece I’m actually trying to treat as a learning piece for me right now, mostly about what it is that I really love when I write long things. I think it’s the piece of writing where I’m most succeeding at not pulling my punches--my hope is that it’ll be jam-packed with humor and tenderness, right next to difficult things and dealing with trauma, and of course because it’s me, a big sprinkle of science stuff and body stuff.
This is my new baby, my second born and best beloved, I am in deep growing pains with this storyline and enjoying using it to make my technique better. I just looked over at my notes, which are scribbled on grid paper, and they include things like “we underestimate anger, we control who is allowed to experience it” and “what did you even like about Days of Future Past” and “how do we create safety and family when they think they can take our family away?” I’m so, I’m SO in love with this one??? I really don’t know who else will care but. X-Men made a huge difference to my ability to imagine myself as a protagonist when I was a young teenager in the closet and growing up in an awful place, without any money and without any friends. I’m re-reading the God Loves, Man Kills story arc and it’s kinda devastating in the best way. I don’t know if I will succeed with this one, but it’s letting me think a lot about resilience. The tag on my blog is #save you from the world fic
Things I’d Really Like to Write/have half-drafted but am not actively writing:
Addams Family/Vampire/John Bellairs/Humorous Dadaistic Halloween Romp AU. I really, really enjoy the zany supernatural satire vibe in this stuff, and the jokes you can play with classic halloween props and settings. You can see a bunch of drabble already here on tumblr for this. The tag on my blog is #Addams Family AU and #Vampire AU
Lost in Space AU!!! The backstory is that I watched all of Netflix’s new Lost in Space show and I loved it a lot (science mom ftw!!) and I really want to write a found-family-struggling-in-alien-space au, full of engineering problems and weird alien botany and having to get along with strangers and make-outs while floating in your spaceship. I LOVE constrained survival situations and I LOVE space. Desperately want to write this. The tag on my blog is #Lost in Space AU
Peril and Promise on Public Transportation is a PWP/one-shot sorta thing that I have half-done and then got surprise supernatural inspiration at the end. I basically had an idea for a start and an end and a hookup in the middle--that being said, I started Alien Roadtrip! as a pwp and it turned into...more, so, we’ll see.
Closer to the Stars. This is a robotics-focused Black Panther AU that probably won’t be 1D at all and I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to it, but I had a lot of thoughts about the drive to create and working with technology in a troubled world.

(8th august)
today’s writing:
—I was reading through jjk’s lil character thing and came across ijichi and it was like a flip had been switched. I was like: oh my god, him and nana would make such a good ship. I ended up writing smth for ijichi & Satoru first, and then wrote for nana & ijichi. I LOVE HIM LOTS. HE DESERVES ALL THINGS. HES SO CUTE, AND PRECIOUS, OKAY.
—I was thinking about how Ijichi looks how he has like he has a lot of siblings and then started writing about the exact opposite thing, lol. Cute little fic with the first years.
— [chants] vessel!Nobara, vessel!Nobara. Every since that I saw this art it’s been on my mind constantly. And finally, I actually started on this AU! It might roleswap, as well. Idk. Just that I’m hella excited for this.
—oh my god, I have finally actually started writing for that reigen & nanami fic that I have been thinking forever of, where they were co-workers!!!! so excited!! lets go!!!
—because of that, I accidentally gave myself mp100 feels, oh no. here’s to working on those wips. ....uh. I didn’t actually end up working on anything, though lol except making some mental notes. So. I guess I kinda did?
—I also. meant to do some nanago, but sadly didn’t get to but! I did! BUT THEN I DID, THANKS TO SSS THING. HELL YEAH.
—Made some progress! Made a lot of progress! I am so very happy. Okay so with that itafushikugi meg first kiss wip, I had. Finally realised what went wrong! Like how to fix it! It was the beginning and I started to re-write again for the third draft and it’s going very well. I got include stuff I wanted to but didn’t think I could but I did! It flows much better, and has that domestic-feel I wanted to go for. Also, took out some unnecessary stuff that made too wordy. and it went HECKING WELL. tbh I didn’t think that I was going to work on this, but well. I was like. thinking about six sundays and snippets and read through this, and well. Y’know the rest. i swear its also getting more ridiculous the more that i rewrite it and i really wanted to finish it, felt like i could do it but i got distracted by other stuff and didn’t get but damn i did a lot!!!
—Speaking of six sentence sunday, I felt like it was good time to bring back the editions thing. I used it! I wanted to work on that Gojou/Jougo which I had been hella procrastinating. There were a lot times where I could have worked on it, but didn’t. Anyways, I ended up doing the new guy wip, which was GOOD like continued it and love love what i wrote v much, leaving the editing and rewriting the beginning part to later. Also started the nanago thing as I said up there. <3333

all the writer asks? and can you use your current story for the blank ones?
1. Favorite place to write.
My most productive nights writing were spent in hotel rooms with cheap black coffee and terrible lighting. It sets a very motivating vibe.
2. Favorite part of writing.
Creating and developing characters. Character arcs?? are ?? my favorite??
3. Least favorite part of writing.
writing ™
4. Do you have writing habits or rituals?
Yeah, procrastinating for months. :’)
5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most.
Patrick Ness and Stephen Chbosky are pretty big idols of mine
6. Favorite character you ever created.
Cadence, she’s my hero
7. Favorite author.
Rainbow Rowell or Patrick Ness
8. Favorite trope to write.
Coming of Age Angst ™ and realistic development for the main character
9. Least favorite trope to write.
Love triangles or over-dramatic and non-realistic romantic interests.
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
I’d love to work with Chbosky and write a spin-off of Perks of Being a Wallflower, or like a potential sequel? That would make my actual dreams come true.
11. Describe your writing process from scratch to finish.
In the beginning, I print off a million character questionnaires and fill out every detail about my main characters. It’s funny, because my characters always come first, and the story soon follows. After I know my characters inside and out, I think in their mindset for days and write down notes about things I for sure want to include in my story whether it be a plot twist or just a small piece of dialogue. Once I find the character’s voice, I feel ready to start writing the story.
12. How do you deal with self-doubts?
I’m still not great with this, because I have a LOT of self-doubt, but I know that writing is what I want to pursue. I just remember that I have talent and I shouldn’t worry about the first draft because the first draft is almost always awful.
13. How do you deal with writers block?
I read. A lot. Reading helps spark ideas and un-stick my story.
14. What’s the most research you ever put into a book?
OH MY GOD. I would look at maps and historic timelines. I filled nearly 4-5 pages of a journal just with a timeline of events and it was lit.
15. Where does your inspiration come from?
Literally anything. That bench on the corner? INSPIRED. Pulling out of a driveway? INSPIRED. That sandwich looks tasty. INSPIRED. No, but in all seriousness I just observe my surroundings at all times and in an average day I can pull an idea out of something.
16. Where do you take your motivation from?
I just think of my future and what impact/ message I’d like to leave behind to anybody who reads my writing.
17. On avarage, how much writing do you get done in a day?
None. Writing isn’t something I can do everyday. Some days I’m more inspired and motivated than others. If I try writing when I don’t have the energy, it turns out forced and choppy. I let the motivation come to me.
18. What’s your revision or rewriting process like?
I typically like to wait a week or two before re-reading and editing, that way I can have space from my writing. I do it gradually through out the story so I can draw potential ideas from what I have so far.
19. First line of a WIP you’re working on.
Version 1: “The shop had been empty for a little over an hour, and Charlotte was beginning to grow restless.”
Version 2: “Charlotte had a look of determination set in the furrow of her eyebrows and curiosity in the gleam of her eyes.”
20. Post a snippet of a WIP you’re working on.
“Whenever Jordyn spoke, it was reminiscent of watching an old southern film. Her slight, hidden drawl was nothing less than soothing. Charlotte sometimes liked to picture her with obnoxiously tight ringlet curls and big, poofy southern belle dresses with frilly ribbons and lace. The thought brought a subtle snort from Charlotte.”
21. Post the last sentence you wrote in one of your WIP’s.
Version 1: “He just followed his feet, and they lead him to her.”
Version 2: “His only response was a smirk before he opened the door to the back alley.”
22. How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied and a project is ultimately done for you?
At least a million
23. Single or multi POV, and why?
Single, I feel like it leaves for more mystery. That way the reader can interpret different POV’s for themselves.
24. Poetry or prose, and why?
Prose, rhyming isn’t my forte
25. Linear or non-linear, and why?
Depends on the story I’m trying to tell. Sometimes one way has more impact than another.
26. Standalone or series, and why?
Standalones are beautiful for some stories, but others simply must be more than just one book long. Some stories exceed one book.
27. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
I share drafts with people I trust to edit or give me feedback.
28. And who do you share them with?
My friends that love stories.
29. Who do you write for?
Mainly for myself, but also for anybody that needs to hear the message my story can offer them.
30. Favorite line you’ve ever written.
“So, as a sign of letting go, I introduced my lips to his cheek and the sound of my skin meeting his was a melody playing a sweet goodbye.”
“Kissing him was like kissing air or water, it was so sweet and slow that it was a natural instinct to flow with it. However, kissing her was like fire because it was warm, inviting, and compelling, but had all the potential to burn him. Their love was like melting into each other, neither would make it out alive.”
31. Hardest character to write.
Side characters or the main character’s family. Because those characters are always important and meaningful, but I don’t want to write them only as a means of helping the main character. I hate flat characters and everybody deserves to have a story, you know?
32. Easiest character to write.
The sidekick ™
The one who always knows just what to say and how to say it.
33. Do you listen to music when you’re writing?
Only for specific scenes that music could really inspire me for. Like if I’m writing a sad scene and I’m not really in that head space, I listen to depressing ass music so I can understand the scene better.
34. Handwritten notes or typed notes?
Both. Here, have some of my notes.
Just some random dialogue drabbles:
“So, can I find you here often?” “Jamie…I work here.” “Oh, yeah, right. Of course.”
“There’s nothing beautiful nor poetic about being an asshole, Jenny. Calm down.”
“Listen, you’ll always be a jalapeno bagel and strawberry cream cheese to me, but I sort of feel like I should know your name by now.”
“Emma, have you ever been in love?” “I might have been. Then again, girls are easy to love, I’m pretty sure Jamie is a different story. If you want my advice Charlotte, date a girl.”
35. Tell some backstory details about one of your characters in your story ________.
The main character is named Charlotte Caroline Tillman. She’s named after the city and state(ish) that her parents met in. She has an older brother named Chance and a calico cat named Sally Mae. Charlotte goes to an Arts Magnet High School and she has a troubled history with her father, and a lot of the story is about her accepting things she cannot change. Her best friend, Emma, is v gay and v hot.
36. A spoiler for story _________.
Charlotte ends up leaving town and everyone she loves. All that’s left behind is a note and a phone number. She leaves her life behind. No closure and no goodbyes. She’s kind of a dick.
37. Most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you.
“That’s where you’re wrong. Everybody has a story, and every one is worth being told.”
38. Have you shared your outline of your story ________ with someone? If so, what did they think of it?
Lol no, my outline isn’t even finished homeboy
39. Do you base your characters of real people or not? If so, tell us about one.
I usually base my side characters off of people I know or have met, even if only for a brief moment. For example, today at work I saw somebody and instantly knew that I needed her in my story. She is now the inspiration for my character Jenny.
40. Original Fiction or Fanfiction, and why?
Both are equally fun and important. Fanfiction is an amazing starting point for beginners, and it helps them write. However, original fiction is so raw and new that it could inspire future writers.
41. How many stories do you work on at one time?
Typically just one, but I always have other stories in the back of my head. I like to focus on one at a time though, that way I can keep characters and plot points straight.
42. How do you figure out your characters looks, personality, etc.
Well, like I’ve said, my characters come first. So based on whatever kind of story I want to tell, my character has to portray that. So I pick and choose different tropes and arc ideas that could impact the story even further.
43. Are you an avid reader?
I heckin’ try to be. Sadly, I don’t always get into stories easily.
44. Best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.
I had an English teacher write a note on one of my writing pieces telling me that she knew I had talent and every teacher has one student where they think “That one…that one’s gonna be the one who makes it” I was that student for her. Oh, and my composition professor had my class read some of our writing pieces, and he told the next semester’s class about my writing. The next time I had him in class, he handed me a form for a writing contest.
45. Worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.
I honestly probably blocked it out. Idk, probably that I use too many commas? Or that one of my chapters was written in a passive voice.
46. What would your story _______ look like as a tv show or movie?
OH MAN! It would be great and I feel like a lot of the stories I write would be 100 times better on the big screen.
47. Do you start with characters or plot when working on a new story?
Characters.
48. Favorite genre to write in.
Contemporary or science fiction
49. What do you find the hardest to write in a story, the beginning, the middle or the end?
The middle
50. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had.
A coven of teenage witches that were randomly selected to be given magic. Some of them became corrupt with power, and the others found good use for them.
51. Describe the aesthetic of your story _______ in 5 sentences or words.
Self love, friendship, denial, heavy, heartbreaking
52. How did writing change you?
It opened my mind to endless ideas and helped me grow. I often didn’t know what I was feeling until I wrote about it.
53. What does writing mean to you?
It means creating a million versions of yourself and turning it into a lesson or inspiration for other.
54. Any writing advice you want to share?
Don’t stop. There are so many things you have to tell the world, so tell them.

Greedy much, Yuè? ;) I’m only going to answer the ones I haven’t done yet, though.
2. Favorite part of writing.
I love writing first meetings. First kisses, too. And I love creating misunderstandings and then sniggering at Klaine for getting it all wrong.
3. Least favorite part of writing.
Writing smut terrifies me. Also, sometimes there are filler chapters you need to get the protagonists where they need to be for the meatier, more eventful parts, and then I get bored, because I want to start writing the exciting parts already.
5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most.
Oh, too many to count. Thea Beckman, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, Roald Dahl, Annie M.G. Schmidt, Henri Van Daele, Agatha Christie, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Tonke Dragt, Mary Hoffman, Stephenie Meyer, Shannon Hale, Meg Cabot, Shanna Swendson, Marcia Evanick, Loretta Chase, Jennifer Chiaverini, Anthony Horowitz, Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, Dianne Wynne Jones, Jan Terlouw, Cynthia Voigt, John Irving and so many others I’m forgetting to mention right now. Seriously, every book I’ve ever read has influenced me.
6. Favorite character you ever created.
Grace, because she’s based on a dear friend of mine who recently passed away. Through Grace, she gets to live on at least a little.
7. Favorite author.
See Question 5. Don’t make me choose please. I couldn’t.
8. Favorite trope to write.
Soulmates. I love writing soulmate fics.
9. Least favorite trope to write.
There are certain tropes I wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole. Hardcore stuff like incest and non-con. Also, I don’t think I could write fics where Kurt or Blaine or one of their children gets cancer or dies.
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
Oooh, @hkvoyage! We’re planning on writing a fake dating Klaine AU one of these days :-) That’s going to be fun!
11. Describe your writing process from scratch to finish.
There’s not much of a process, really. I get the idea for a story. It won’t leave me alone, to the point where I even start dreaming about it. I tell the plot bunny that I have several other stories in the works already and need to finish those first. That doesn’t help at all, so after some time, I give in and start writing, planning to make this just a short one-shot. I finish the one-shot and sigh happily. Sometimes, that’s it, and I can bask in my accomplishment for a few days until another idea hits me. Most times, though, the one-shot starts insisting it wants to be a multi-chapter. Very annoying. Won’t leave me alone until I start working on the multi-chapter. And when the multi-chapter is done, rinse and repeat. Sigh. It never stops.
14. What’s the most research you ever put into a book?
That was probably for Worth the Wait, and I hope it shows.
15. Where does your inspiration come from?
Real life. Tumblr. Things I see. Things I read. Things I happen to think of, giggling that it would be priceless as a Klaine fic.
16. Where do you take your motivation from?
My readers telling me they like a story I’ve written (and why). My first multi-chapter story Weave Your Magic would never have been more than a one-shot if not for the kind and encouraging words of my readers. Feedback is SO important to keep me motivated and happy to write.
Also Bangs, because they give me a time limit to work towards. My beta @hkvoyage will tell you that I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants and procrastinating kind of writer. I really need a deadline plus a beta who reminds me that the deadline is approaching to kick me into gear.
17. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?
Not much. On really productive days maybe 1,200 words or so? I’m a slow writer, and a procrastinator, and I have many other demands on my time.
18. What’s your revision or rewriting process like?
I’m a nitpicker. Everyone I’ve ever betaed for can attest to that. As such, I’m very hard on myself and my own writing too. Before I send a chapter to my beta, you can rest assured that I’ve been through it with a fine comb about ten times already. Yep, yet another reason why I don’t produce many words a day.
19. First line of a WIP you’re working on.
“Oh, he’sso beautiful,” Mercedes crooned, stroking the downy head and blinking backtears.
(From a Kurtcedes and Unique fic I’m working on for @tacogrande)
21. Post the last sentence you wrote in one of your WIP’s.
Kurt’seyes met Blaine’s, and Blaine sent him a smile, which gave Kurt such a burst ofhappy energy that he couldn’t help but grin and then twirl Lieselotte aroundenthusiastically.
(From the Time-Travelling Kurt fic I’m writing for @thisdoesnotsuck)
22. How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied and a project is ultimately done for you?
It’s never done. Every time I re-read one of my stories, I spot things I could have said better. Or worse yet, typos/grammar mistakes. As I said before: nitpicker.
24. Poetry or prose, and why?
Prose. I love poetry, but I can’t write it.
25. Linear or non-linear, and why?
Non-linear, I guess? I tend to start in medias res and work with flashbacks or stories within the story to provide the background.
26. Standalone or series, and why?
I don’t think I’ve ever written a sequel to a story. But I could. One day. If I ever get round to it. So, for now, standalone, I guess.
27. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
See above. Before I share a draft with anyone, I’ve already been over it tons of times.
28. And who do you share them with?
My beta. Sometimes, I post the first chapter here on Tumblr, to see if I get a reaction. Usually, I don’t get much of a reaction, though.
29. Who do you write for?
Myself, first and foremost. I write stories I would like to read. And if anyone else likes them, that’s a wonderful bonus.
30. Favorite line you’ve ever written.
Wow, that’s difficult.
Blaine’ssinging washed over Kurt and enveloped him like a hug. Warm and buttery soft, going from a dark caramel lower register to a liquid honey higher register,Blaine’s voice held Kurt as spellbound as any of the fans present.
(From Stop Flirting!)
31. Hardest character to write.
Hmm… Brittany, I would say. It’s harder getting into her mindset than for instance Santana or Kurt.
32. Easiest character to write.
Kurt. Blaine too, but Kurt is the easiest.
33. Do you listen to music when you’re writing?
No. I do hum or sing sometimes while writing, though.
34. Handwritten notes or typed notes?
I type everything.
35. Tell some backstory details about one of your characters in your story ________.
What story do you want to know this about, Yuè? Same request for clarification for the numbers 36, 38, 46 and 51. I can’t answer those questions without knowing what story you have in mind for them (and don’t say ALL or I won’t ask the question).
37. Most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you.Life is like a camera… Focus on what is important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot.
40. Original Fiction or Fanfiction, and why?
Lately, I’ve been reading almost exclusively fanfiction, so…
41. How many stories do you work on at one time?
As many as I have going on. Right now I have five WIPs, I think.
42. How do you figure out your characters looks, personality, etc.
I don’t. I write fanfic, so that’s figured out for me already. The OCs are based on people I know.
43. Are you an avid reader?
Yes, I am!
44. Best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.
That I needed to stop repeating stuff if I insisted on writing from both POVs.
45. Worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.
I used to have this reader, who called themselves CC, who kept commenting on Weave Your Magic to tell me there wasn’t enough Klaine in the story.
47. Do you start with characters or plot when working on a new story?
Plot, I guess, since the characters are not mine, I only borrow them.
48. Favorite genre to write in.
Fluff.
49. What do you find the hardest to write in a story, the beginning, the middle or the end?
The middle, definitely.
50. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had.
Blaine as a Dog shapeshifter/professor.
52. How did writing change you?
It made me notice little things a lot more, and see a story in everything.
53. What does writing mean to you?
It’s an outlet and a passion and a hobby. I love it.
54. Any writing advice you want to share?
Write what you want to read yourself.
