Tried my best for this lol recently my creativity just went down so I don't have many good prompts to give.

Oh lmao I might steal this title for one of two fics I have already started.

One of which being an omegaverse au where yqy presents as an omega right before they ascend and now there is a scramble to marry him off. The night he presented he went to QJP seeking SJ to claim him and SJ, despite wanting very badly to, had a paranoid fit and did the responsible thing and dumped him on Qian Cao Peak for them to deal with. I haven't decided if SJ is an alpha or an omega pretending to be an alpha, either way, it was an aggressively horny night of regret for him.

Then at the following peak lord meeting yqy is noticeably absent, the sect leader brings up his presentation and how, traditionally, in the event of the QDP head disciple being an omega the first pick of potential spouses will come from the ascending peak lords before opening it up to other sects. The sect leader is very matter of fact about it, the other peak lords are a little exhausted having to deal with yet another thing before ascension, and their head disciples are actually pretty horrified. YQY is in heat and here they are talking about marrying him off!! Without him!!

The sect leader's eyes narrow, an uncharacteristic smile playing at his lips. "Qi-shizhi's concern for her martial brother is commendable, however, in light of recent incompatibility with his first choice, Yue Qingyuan has turned over the decision to Qiong Ding's head office."

and this is where you think, oh muse, so predictable! now it's time for SJ to angst and wallow as the tragic romantic lead of this fic! WRONG! This fic is about Qi Qingqi and her determination to 1) root out whomst the FUCK rejected yqy for being an omega 2) find a suitable match for him amongst their martial siblings and if that fails 3) MARRY HIM HERSELF in iconic wlw mlm solidarity.

I think, to shift the world accordingly, her peak has the highest concentration of omegas but still opts to have a very op alpha peak lord "for their protection." I think most of the hall masters would be betas for respectability reasons there too.

Sj is, of course, still wallowing in the background but in such a sketchy way that QQQ is thinking "god anyone would be better suited than him"

Do you like the backstory for rick? Idk I kinda preferred it when Rick's past was a complete mystery and i dont really care about diane at all. I didn't expect the writers to actually write a canon for him either but I guess they realised how much the audience wanted one for him

I liked the mystery element of his backstory! I know it's always exciting to have things in canon, but like... it being open to interpretation was something I always appreciated.

And... ugh, hoo boy. I'm torn. I mean, I love that Rick is completely different from what dudebros and like- "high iq" redditors present him as. He's a man who loved his wife and daughter, loved them so much he would rather give up travelling the multiverse, becoming a genius scientist, just to stay with them. He was vulnerable, soft, and caring. He wasn't nihilistic and reckless and selfish and some "alpha male who wouldn't let anything tie him down". He was ridiculously romantic, optimistic, sweet and loving, and maybe even kind.

And I don't give a shit.

I don't! I don't care. This might sound incredibly cruel and unfair, but I don't care that Rick lost his family.

Ok- let me explain.

I'm... disappointed. I'm disappointed that losing Beth and Diane is all it was that made Rick into the complete and utter monster he is today (or the start of the series anyway). I don't mean to undermine his loss and grief- at all! It's just... for him to go on a (seemingly decades long) killing spree, slaughtering any version of himself he seemed to come across... christ. Maybe in his eyes, they were all as bad as that One. Which is understandable. I'm very lucky to have not experienced that kind of loss. I haven't had to Grieve the way Rick did. Maybe I just don't get it, because I've never felt it. That's fair.

It just felt... god, I don't want to say excessive. I know, people process grief in different ways, and for some it manifests in unhealthy ways, some lash out at the world, fixate on trying to find an explanation, to find justice, etc. And I like how Rick was an absolute inconsolable wreck at first. Something like that, it needs time to process and overcome before you can start moving again.

I just- I don't know. Something rubbed me the wrong way about it all.

It's like- it's not that I wanted Rick to have spent all that time partying or something. It's just- argh, i don't know! Maybe someone else can put it into better words lol.

I hate that he immediately jumped into not giving a single shit about other people (save birdperson and squanchy!). Like- when he blew up those aliens who gave him whatever it was he needed. Ah- ok, they probably weren't exactly innocent or anything, but still. I think it was just I felt if we ever saw Rick's backstory, I'd want it to be a slow decline into who he is, show him gradually losing so much of his morality and becoming so jaded. Idk i guess i just wanted it to be like, a series of significant (and lesser but still important) events that lead to him going down that path rather than- this ONE thing that just apparently completely ruined him? And yeah ik ik it was a BIG thing, but like- i guess i was expecting.... more? Maybe something like idk Rick trying to save all the other Beths and Dianes and failing, idk, just... something more.

I actually would have preferred it if Diane lived. I dont know, I just- man I really hate the dead wife/daughter turns ordinary man into callous asshole trope. I agree, it's hard to really care all that much for Diane, and for a while I couldn't understand why. I thought, idk, is it internalised misogyny? Do I just not like Diane because I want to ship Rick with someone else?

I think I get it now. Diane, for all her significance in Rick's backstory, just... isn't a character. She's just- the motivation Rick needed to kick off the story. You could replace her with literally anybody else Rick could have loved and it wouldn't feel any different. She just doesn't feel special. She's no more unique than any other Dead Wife. We get nothing, literally nothing of her. I kept thinking, why? Why does this just not hit that hard? Rick's had emotional moments with Beth, with Birdperson, even with Summer and Jerry. And then I got it- it doesn't feel earned. It felt like how you feel when you see side characters or extras in the background of an action movie die. Maybe some faint sadness, but mainly nothing. We as an audience get nothing from Diane, we don't know her, don't get to see how she matters to Rick, don't get to see her relationship with Rick, we don't get any chance to connect with her character. So when she dies and Rick gets his montage of seeking revenge, it doesn't feel earned. It feels more like I'm being told about how this guy suffered than really seeing it (which i believe, may have been the writers intention actually...). It's kind of like a feeling of "damn that sucks bro... and?". There's no real heavy emotional response that I could really get from it...

I actually would have preferred if Rick and Diane broke up, divorced. I feel like that would offer so much more for them BOTH as chatacters. Instead of their relationship being happy and sunshine and rainbows until a Big Bad came in and took that away, I'd prefer it if Rick's downfall was just... his fault. (Actually His fault.) If his marriage fell apart because he couldn't make it work. If he estranged his daughter because he couldn't properly handle fatherhood, despite loving her. If he was flawed, terribly flawed, because of his own misjudgement and shortcomings. I guess my biggest problem, is that this is presented as someone having the perfect life, which is then taken away as a result of someone Else. It's too easy to then say, oh, it's not his fault he's like that! He had his heart broken, his life ruined! He lost himself in a revenge spree, poor thing... I'd have rathered if it was just a little bit more... realistic? If Rick had been the root cause of his own problems. If he'd experienced tragedy, but also been the cause of much more. I just wish there'd been more of a balance? It just felt so rushed. And not because of the montage- it just like Rick became completely apathetic way too fast. I just hate hate HATE the "he was a good guy with the perfect little life until tragedy struck and he was never the same". Rick never made the effort to improve his life, to do better, to be better. He's actively a cruel, callous, unkind person (complex, yes, but these are traits no one can deny he harbours). He's done far worse than was done to him, and that will never be justifiable to me... it just all feels so very cliche and out of place, and out of everything, this was the one thing I had hoped they wouldn't do.

I think the writers are aware of this, strangely enough. I mean, Rick even calls it his "crybaby backstory". I think they didn't want to leave it open any longer, and just got it out of the way. I don't think they really want to elaborate on it anymore. From what I predict, they want to focus on the here and now of Rick (and Morty, haha), and the development of who Rick is NOW, instead of who he WAS. I think they kind of just went, here's your gut-punch, your tragic backstory, now leave it alone. Diane is dead, Rick had a hard past, the series is about moving on and change. Now can we PLEASE get back to the sci-fi shenanigans?

(There was something I LOVED about the backstory though, and that was the soundtrack! Like the music for the Battle of Bloodridge, it fucking SLAPPPEDDDD. I can't imagine making synthwave emotional, but it actually kind of worked! The swell of the music actually did a lot more for getting a reaction out of me than the content lmaooo. It kind of reminded me of Kurzegast's "optimistic nihilism" for some reason... I actually liked the Bloodridge track so much, it got me a little into synthwave, which i never listened to before! The music producers this season have just KILLED IT!)

ah, the good old 'what the fuck dude???' from light and the 'oooh he got a big brain' from L. it's hard to get out of canon in this one.

L. But it's more like thoughts, rather than feelings. It's just these random thoughts that pop out in his head like 'i don't mind kissing this guy, if he asks' but not like 'i want to kiss him' yknow what i mean? idk this is just something i experience a lot lmao. it develops to feelings once light falls for him and L can see that. So in terms of ideas, it's L, but in terms of feelings, it's Light.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

Oh our favorite light denial yagami. Of course he's cursing himself for having feelings like this but once L calls it out he's over. 

If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?

Light would laugh it off, and be like "i don't like him that way you know". L would shrugs be like "well yes that's possible, i don't think i mind".

Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

hmm, they both initiated the relationship? ykwim? They both notices they had feelings for each other and just...go from there. they never have like a relationship talk, they just go with the flow until at some point they starts to get comfortable to refer the other as partners. They basically can read each other's mind, after all.

Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

Yes, sort of. A tennis game! And a coffee sesh after, just like canon. They plan this to be just "let's just relax, this case has been really exhausting, take a one day break, L" but when Light got home, sayu asked "how's the date going?!" He immediately said "it's not a date, you watch too many dramas it's rotting your brain" And sachiko gave him a smile while shaking her head at this statement and when he's back to his room he immediately calls L and was like "hey does that count as a date?" and L answers with "depends, do you want it to be?" with a smirk that light can hear.

What was their first kiss like?

it was late at night, light was helping L with the case when everybody went home. they were sharing their view about this certain criminal when light notices L staring at his lips, first he ignored it but it happens again and again to a point where their face just got real close and then...kiss, somehow. idk lmao.

Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

First person who can understand each other and are equals, the only ones who can tear the other's wall down, and just practically soulmates in any form that even their sun & moon signs mirroring each other's? YES.

i hc L as just a little bit taller than light, but it's not like you can see it through the hunch anyway. ofc we all know the 6 years and 4 months age gap

Sayu likes L, Sachiko is kinda surprise Light doesn't date a typical pretty person, but it only makes her heart fonder. L doesn't mind them, he thinks they're nice, light grew up in a good place. Soichiro? Well, he might me a bit reluctant but he loosen up slowly, his son is happier than he ever was, after all.

Who takes the lead in social situations?

Light, obviously. Because he's a charmer and if L takes control, the person they speak to would run immediately the first 2 minutes.

Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?

it is a universal knowledge that L does this. like, come on, count the fics, you can't, there's just so many. he loves to break that perfect wall and make light feel 🥴😳. it's entertaining. But he knows when to stop. too much of that will be embarrassing in light's part, and he respects his boy's dignity.

Light!! The thing is it was said over the phone. He gets more and more comfortable talking with L through calls, since every now and then L travel frok countries to countries. One time he just like "yeah, safe flight. love you, bye" he expected L to say goodnight to him as a response as usual but L was silent and he realised what he just said and realised that he fucking mean it. L seems to still be able to read his mind even thousands miles away so he replies with "i love you too, goodnight". they never missed seeing each other more than that night.

What are their primary love languages?

we had a discussion for this! but as we see in canon, they're both very acts of service with a little hint of physical touch here and there. quality time is also important. words and gift aren't really needed for them.

Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?

L. Only to annoy light. It's terrible that he almost cringed to himself, but it does bring a good laugh for light.

How often do they cuddle/engage in PDA?

PDA is a not their preference, they just love being in private more. They might hold hands sometimes, butmost times they won't. Altho they always stand or sit reaaaaally glued to each other even though there are so many space. 

Who initiates kisses?

both. they want it, they got it. but light gives light kisses (ha) more, not necessarily on the lips, usually when L was really busy working, keeping his feet on the ground.

Who’s the big and little spoon?

They don't spoon a lot, they prefer not touching at all or cufdling face to face, but when they do, Light is the little spoon because being a big spoon makes his sleeping position kinda uncomfy, he feels awkward with his legs, it's just not. thankfully L thinks cuddling light this way is very calming.

What are their favorite things to do together?

Tennis and solving cases, duh. Or sometimes they play video games fighting each other. Anything competitive and/or challenging that make their brain grow 10 times bigger. But sometimes, a comfortingly peaceful and quiet dinner with hushed words thrown here and there about random things feels like the best thing ever.

Physical. They can read each other's mind, they knew it by gesture, touches, and glances.

IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE. venus by sleeping at last fits them so well, that song is in the background of multiple cozy couch smooches sessions or even when they're slow dancing (please listen to this tho song it's so good). also i think they would like persephone by the tragic thrills too, L would be like "this song reminds me of you" and Light answers with "i'm persephone?" "Yeah" "i'm a fucking badass then" "yes you are". oh and first day of my life? lover of mine? pink in the night? sweet creature? the lakes? oh god i have too much answers

What kind of nicknames do they call each other?

they don't do nicknames, really. although, L sometimes called light with some snarky tony stark styled nicknames when he feels particularly playful but annoyed at the same time.

They both do. Big brained assholes they are.

It's not really a proposal, they didn't  even remember who said it first. But one sleepy night after a hard case, someone said "hey you wanna get married" and the other was like "sure, why not" "really?" "yeah, i think i'm ready, you?" "me too" "great" and then they go to sleep. at breakfast the next morning L called watari from across the room and said "wammy i need you to prepare [enter marriage stuff here], and light, you must call your family after this". poor old watari chokes on his tea.

What’s the wedding like? Who attends?

The wedding is in a secluded little place near the wammy's house, L used to go there a lot as a kid. With just light's parents, sayu, and watari. Well, not until Light caught Mello, Matt, Near, and Linda peeping from the bushes

A chunky cat the wammy's kids feed daily but never try to keep them in, because no animals are allowed inside the orphanage. L saw it and was like "light let's bring this bitch home" she is, indeed a little bitch, but light and L loves her dearly. her fur has light brown and black colors, like both of their hairs, so she becomes their daughter, L gave him a weird ass name but i can't think about it rn.

Who kills the bugs in the house?

Light because he's the one who's actually bothers to. They ofc annoyed L but he cpuldnt care less to actually get rid of them.

Who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?

L. He rarely sleeps and once he did, he wakes up very fucking late and will pull light back to the bed if he's woken up by the empty space beside him.

Who’s the better cook?

Light. L is a spoiled brat. But Light can't bale for shit, that's Watari's job. Light grow up learning and helping his mom making meals for the family. He's not the best, but it's good enough to make L craves them in between his sweets.

None of them. But they would slow dance on rare, sentimental occasions. And it's like so fucking romantic bcs all the lights are off except for a candle or a table lamp or a cabinet lamp whatever that has yellow-y dim light. "Another one?" Danneel asks.

"No, you know I can't drink so much. I'm not used to it."

"Come on. Gen and I dragged you out to have fun. Drink another glass. I know you miss Jensen. Just drink another glass." Danneel insists.

"Fine. One more. But then I need to go home."

"Whoa…that guy over there is eying you up and down," Gen says.

"Huh? And? It's not that I'm interested in someone else. I love Jensen. That guy can look as much as he wants to."

"Another one?" Danneel asks again. She barely drank anything but she keeps on filling your glass.

"Fine, one more." You slur.

After emptying the drink in one go you walk on wobbling legs toward the restrooms. Back in the bar, you look for Gen. Waving at you she smiles.

And you smile back. Walking without looking causes you crush into the chest of a tall guy. Looking up you see a handsome face and dirty blonde hair.

"Jay?" You ask before kissing him fiercely.

"Y/N?" Gen says shocked.

"Look! Jay is here!" You giggle.

"Sweetie that ain't Jensen. Come. I'll take you to my house. You shouldn't be alone tonight," Gen says worriedly. Danny really filled you up.

What neither you nor Gen see is the bright grin plastered onto Danneel's face. She got what she wanted.

Groaning you turn around in the foreign bed. Holding your head you watch the room spinning. Fuck…Where are you?

"Hey? Feeling better?" Jared asks with Gen hot on his trail.

"Shit. Danneel really filled me up. Where is she?"

"Before I could tell her that I'll take you with me she was gone," Gen says.

"Oh. I hope she came home safe. Shit, I need to go home, Gen. Thanks for taking care of me."

"Jared, can you leave us alone?"

"Sure, Baby." Giving Gen a kiss on her cheek Jared leaves the room.

"Do you remember the kiss?" Gen asks.

"Yeah. God. I really thought it was Jensen. Should I tell him?"

"I don't know…"

"I will tell him. We never hide things from each other…"

"Jay? Hey!" You squeal excitedly. But when you want to hug him he shoves you away.

"Where have you been? Were you with that guy?"

"Oh…I'm sorry. Jensen, I swear I thought it was you when I kissed him. I wanted to tell you…How do you know?"

"Danneel told me everything! Did you fuck that guy you, whore? I thought you love me but I was wrong. I'm busy filming and you fuck a random guy!" Jensen yells.

"I didn't…I just kissed him, that's all. Danneel filled me up. You know I don't drink so much. I kissed the guy but only as I thought it's you. Please. I would never do such a thing."

"Danneel told me everything. I don't believe you. She said you flirted with that guy the whole night!"

"No, I didn't. Gen said that a guy is eying me up and down but I didn't even see him. I swear I would never cheat on you." You sob now.

"I can't believe you. I won't believe you. You weren't home. You're still wearing the same dress. You fucked him…I hate you." Jensen yells tossing a vase against the wall.

"I didn't have sex with someone else. You know you were my first and only man, Jensen. Please…I love you."

"No…you don't," Jensen says bitterly.

"I wasn't with someone else. Gen took me home…her home. I was too drunk thanks to Danneel. Gen wanted to tell her but she was gone. I woke up in Jared's guest room."

"Don't involve my best friends. They won't lie for you!"

"Call them! Ask Gen she will tell you so. Call Garcia! He droves us to Gen's house. I was never alone! I slept at Jared's place." You say while tears are streaming down your face.

"I don't believe you."

"Fine, then I'll leave. If you believe her more than me, Jared and Gen then you are … forget it."

Crying you run upstairs to pack a few things. Calling a cab you storm out of the house. Tossing your wedding ring into Jensen's direction you leave your home.

"He believes her more than me Gen."

"Shall I call him or rather Jared? He was here when we arrived. I can tell Garcia to call him too."

"No, he won't believe any of us. Jensen believes her. Maybe he wants to believe her. Can I stay here until tomorrow? I will call my mom to stay at my parent's house for a while."

"Sure. Stay here." Gen says hugging you tightly.

Jared, on the other hand, is busy yelling into his phone. Telling Jensen that Gen and you arrived at his house together. That he can…if he insists check the recorded tape of his security camera. That you are in his guest room desperately crying.

"Can I talk to her?" Jensen stammers.

"Why? To yell at her again? Danneel filled her up, Jay. Y/N was in the restrooms. Then she bumped into that guy waving at me. She really thought it was you, Jensen. When I told her she's wrong her face was pale and she cried the whole way to my house. Y/N felt guilty."

"Oh…Danny said she went out of the bar with that guy."

"And you believed her? She was always jealous that you married Y/N. Go fix this or I'll kick your sorry ass. I hope it isn't too late. You trusted her more than your own wife. Shame on you Ackles!"

"Y/N? Baby? I'm sorry. I shouldn't believe her instead of you. I know you're faithful Baby. Please come home."

"You believed her, not me. I kissed the guy, but it was a drunken mistake. I thought…he looked like you and I missed you. I didn't want to kiss another man. I would never have sex with someone else."

Sniffing you look up at Jensen. Regret and pain color his features. Your wedding ring lies in his large hand. Taking it you put the ring back on your finger.

Kneeling in front of you Jensen wipes away the tears. Kissing your lips softly he sighs.

"I will never go out with her again," you whisper.

"Tomorrow I will talk to her. That was cruel some. Trying to destroy our marriage."

"Not you will talk to her…we will. Together."

"Together…as always. I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too, Jay."
