it really sucks so bad always being treated like you're an entitled hysterical crazy bitch evil cunt for pointing out that in a particular interpersonal conflict you are being screwed over because of living in a Society - the classes in power HATE when you "break character" in their delusion of being a good person and remind them that they in fact not only have a systemic advantage to leverage over you and the power to fuck you over, but that they believe this is the natural order of things and the relationship is one of equals (by which i mean, that when they want to get their way, they believe it is not an abuse of power, or an entitlement to power, when they force your hand to acquiesce to their whims or to soothe their hurt feelings.) especially if they are oppressed in some other sphere (ie. black and brown landlords, gay men, white trans people, etc). the biggest sin you can commit in their eyes is to make them see themselves as the oppressor. they will close ranks immediately, even if your conflict isn't with them specifically, but with one of Their Own. class solidarity exists between the classes in power, yes, even if they are one of"the good ones." i know we throw this word around a lot these days but it is legitimately insidious, ever-present, inescapable gaslighting and i am sick of carrying the weight of the burden of proof. every single time i say i hate landlords or men or white people anywhere that isn't my very curated corner in this stupid website people come out of the woodwork to ask if i have considered that maybe I Am The Problem, and to stop Pulling The X Card because according to them It Is Not Relevant in This Specific Conflict. and how interesting, that this happens no matter what the conflict is
