The Inside the Story of Axelrod’s Decision To Purchase his Lavish Country Home

For multi-billionaire Bobby Axelrod, a luxurious country house serves as a much-needed breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Axelrod, also known in the media and by his colleagues as Axe, bought his multi million dollar rural escape on a whim, against his advisor’s recommendation.

“Why not?” he explains. “I have worked to the bone since I was a kid in Yonkers to thrive in this country. And now I want to use a small portion of the money I proudly earned to escape when I want to.”

Early mornings swimming in the Olympic-sized indoor pool and nights looking up at the stars weren’t something Axelrod could give up.

“Getting out of the city couldn’t even be in my purview when I was growing up. Being able to offer the fresh air to my family every once in a while--that’s the best a man like me could ask for.”

The vastness of his eight-figure home wasn’t the only reason he picked the stunning pad. Axe admired the quiet that comes from the extended space--though there were still renovations needed, with help from Stacey Bridgers Design, no matter how small, for his new home to be up to his standards.

“I need everything to be solid,” he said. “When I know every miniscule detail is in order--when I can feel it--that’s when I know I’m at home. And I can enjoy it.”
