I WENT TO THE SONIC SYMPHONY YESTERDAYYYYYYY
I don’t know what tk really say, but… GODDAMN THAT MUSIC WAS FUCCIN FIRE!!
AND. AND OH MY GOD THE LEAD SINGER FOR CRUSH 40??? hang on what’s his name?
JOHNNY!! FUCKING JOHNATHON OH MY GOD HE WAS FANTASTIC UP THERE ON THAT STAGE AND HES SO SWEET AND HES SUCH A NICE GUY HE CAUGHT ME SO OFF-GUARD WITH HOW NICE HE WAS!!!
AND OH MY GOSH I COULD EVEN TELL THE PERFORMERS WERE HAVING FUN!! Like… This time they weren’t doing it just for money or anything, like they actually had fun playing Sonic the Hedgehog music! They were all so alive and everyone did such a fantastic job up there on stage! Like they’ve been waiting their whole lives for this day! Wow I envy them all so much!
What I really really enjoyed though was the second half of the concert when we all started jumping up and down and singing all the songs like a giant community! We all knew basically every song by heart and hearing everyone sing along with Johnny and Dave was such a surreal experience. I’ve never felt such a sense of belonging before… I have never once felt so… At home.
There were a few songs I didn’t know, all of which were from Frontiers and Superstars, but every other song I knew like the back of my hand and it felt AMAZING!! I would never trade that feeling for anything ever!
I also got to meet/interact with a a few cosplayers which was amazing!! My mom and grandma were with me and my lil bro so we got to prove that cosplayers and STH fans were well-respected and sane human beings. All of them were really nice and we got to talk about TMOSTH and made a few jokes at each other. We all connected so well even though we’ll never see each other again… All their costumes were so accurate and looked amazing too!!
I also basically destroyed my vocal cords while singing and when we got to Live and Learn at the end I couldn’t even breathe. It was such a magical and tremendous experience, and I’d never trade that feeling for anything ever! Just… Being there and experiencing it…! That was probably the most fun I’ve had in years! I was jumping up and down and singing my heart out and laughing so hard I thought my chest was gonna burst and talking with people I’ve never met like we’ve know each other for a long time… Again, it was such a magical experience for me. I’m so so incredibly thankful to my mom for letting us go.
So, if I had to explain the Sonic Symphony with just one word… I’d say…
Community.
#My schools have been trying to nail into our brains that “We’re a community and we all love and respect each other!”#“Equity and friendship! Woohoo!!”#But I swear to you. Nothing. And I really do mean nothing. Can compare to how I felt that night.#That is what community really feels like. At least for me.#blog/ask stuff
