I've been waiting so fucking long for this one

It was Loki's childhood dream to own a library or work on one, but Odin would not allow

So, when Loki came to earth and learned how understaffed public libraries are, they immediately applied.

He quickly worked past the God of Mischief among the staff, until he was known only for the ridiculous amount of knowledge and love on any book in any language and from any era in any part of the nine realms

Whenever someone was coming and asking for a very specific book, Loki was there and ready to offer help

They always worked on making the library more cozy and comfortable for as many people as possible, and offered to work extra times only so it'll stay open for longer

He even made sure there's food and drinks and beds and that the bathroom has a functioning shower with soaps and clean towels in case a homeless person walks in and wants to eat or clean themselves or sleep somewhere safe or someone seeks refuge for their safety

They're always up for a conversation with the people there, when desired. And talking about books is always fascinating when with someone with that level of knowledge. Yet, they always listen to the other person, especially when the conversation is about opinions and not facts

He's always protective with the kids that seek refuge there, making sure they eat and drink something and are safe. When desired, they offer to teach some self defense movements, or promise to stay in the library all night and keep it open while the kid sleeps somewhere. And whenever they go there after getting hurt, he offers to clean up or heal the wound or just a soft blanket and cup of cocoa.

Personally, Loki prefers traditional books, because of the comfort they've connected them with. But, they will always help someone find the book on ebook or audiobook without a single comment. Sometimes, they'll even use a spell on a book and translate it for people who are not fluent in English. And if anyone dares to snob auduobooks or ebooks in front of Loki, they're getting bitch slapped, no questions asked.

Whenever a parent comes and demands that the kid reads a gerne they clearly don't like, Loki, with a fake smile on his lips, says "if you like this book so much, maybe you should read it instead of force others", before kicking the parent out and letting the kid choose. "If they throw a tantrum, you can keep the book here and come and read whenever you can, it's between us"
