HEADLIGHTS [short horror]
Tumblr media
It started last week.
The lockdown, I mean.
Before that, things weren’t great but they weren’t awful. We weren’t the happiest place on earth, but we weren’t jumping off bridges either. We just were. We managed, is what I’m trying to say.
Now years of impoverished alcoholism have reared their head. The lockdown’s done its job. It’s kept us safe from the devil outside our walls, but sometimes it’s the devil inside that does the most harm. Sometimes it’s the thinking. The thinking, thinking, thinking.
That’s what does you in.
My town’s main industry has been on the decline for decades. These days most of us are on food stamps. We can’t afford to live here anymore, but can’t afford to move either. Catch 22.
A few years back the government opened up a compound on the hill, a research facility for military-types and the super geniuses you see on TV. A few weeks later, they announced the town would enter a lockdown. Something about a radiation leak. Something about acid rain.
Since it started there’s been one dead and nine missing. How’d the dead guy go? If you're wondering, it wasn’t radiation. It was self-loathing. They found Benny West near the woods with a smoking handgun beside what was left of his head, and a suicide note so wet with blood that nobody could read the damn thing.
Famous last words? We never knew them. But then, I don’t think any of us really needed to. You could still smell the booze on Benny’s breath, could still see decades of struggle etched into every line of his face.
As for the missing? They’re a tougher puzzle. Nobody’s found them. Nobody’s had any contact with them whatsoever. Not a text. Not a call. Not even a dusty email.
It’s odd, but maybe they’d just had enough, couldn’t take this place anymore and finally decided the lockdown was the worst of it. What’s the phrase? The last straw. Yeah, that’s what the lockdown was for them.
The last straw.
Since it all started, I’ve been going stir crazy. Being cooped inside with nothing to do but drink and watch TV will do that to a man. I think that’s why I did it, you know? Took a midnight stroll. Loneliness is a strange beast and it doesn’t pick and choose it’s time of day, but if I had to place it I’d say it always gets worse at night. There’s something about the dark that suffocates. Makes you feel vulnerable. Singled out.
So I went to her cabin.
My old highschool sweetheart. Vanny Williams– the only girl I’ve ever met that could shoot a target with her eyes closed and still hit a bullseye. The girl I called the love of my life, who left me after nine years because I couldn’t wake up in the morning without a shot of whisky.
That night, I needed her. Maybe I wanted to make amends, or maybe I just wanted somebody familiar, somebody warm who I could feel a sense of connection with. I don’t know. All I really knew is I couldn’t last another night alone in my cabin. Not with the whisky. Not with the .45.
So I set off.
The government was taking the lockdown seriously. One of my neighbors, Roger Huckbrite got a lashing from the sheriff for wandering around drunk after dark. They knocked out three of his teeth and told him next time they’d break his legs.
“No wandering at night,” they told him. “Otherwise those broken legs will be a mercy, Rog.”
I had a thing for my legs. I liked walking, liked kicking a ball and most of all I liked hitting the gas pedal of my truck. I didn’t want broken legs, so I stayed off the main roads and stuck to the logging roads. Hell, I didn’t even drive. Too conspicuous, I figured.
So I set those legs to work and took a walk. To the right of me was the hillside, all brush and boulders with the military facility up top, and to my left was the valley. Charmouth Forest. On the other side of those trees was Vanny Williams, but walking straight through them was a death trap. See, that night it wasn’t just dark, it was snowing, and where there was snow there was ice, and I didn’t want to risk a sprained ankle going down that valley slope. Not without cell service. Not when the weather called for a cold snap tonight.
So I kept to the side of the road with my eyes and ears on, and as I walked something caught my attention. It was above me. All the way up on the top of the hill, nestled near the military facility. Headlights. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that those lights belonged to the sheriff, holed up there in his SUV and looking for cars on the roads breaking curfew.
Too bad for him that I was smarter than that. I didn’t just leave my truck at home, I made sure to wear my black jacket and keep close to the treeline. There wasn’t a chance in hell he was spotting me down here. Even still, his presence made my skin crawl. There’s something uncomfortable about being watched, and even though I knew the sheriff couldn’t see me, it still felt tense to be breaking the law right under his nose.
I decided I ought to disappear. Just until I got myself firmly away from his field of view. So I slipped into the woods, keeping certain not to stray too far from the road– just far enough that I lost sight of the sheriff beyond the canopy of fir trees.
I walked like that for maybe five or ten minutes. Kept it up until I rounded the bend in the road, and then I poked my head out and breathed a sigh of relief. The headlights were nowhere to be seen. The sheriff either took off, or I put enough twists and turns between us that the trees were now obscuring his view. Maybe he just figured nobody would break curfew on a night this cold.
Either way, it was good news for me.
I hiked back up to the road and then froze. Again I felt that familiar, uncomfortable sensation of being watched, like there was somebody stalking me in the dark. I looked back up the hill, wondering if I'd missed the sheriff's somehow but–
Light blinded me.
I stumbled backward, slipping on a patch of ice and falling onto my ass. Ahead, near the curve in the road sat a pair of headlights. The sheriff. But how? The son of a bitch must have been scanning the road with binoculars, maybe some fancy night-vision ones borrowed from the military types.
I groaned, getting up to my feet. He was still a fair distance away, far enough that he probably couldn't make out my face through my toque and hood.
That meant I could still get away.
I shot off into the woods, slipping down the valley slope and sliding over dirt and leaves and fresh fallen snow. I jumped and dipped, doing the best I could to dodge the onslaught of stray branches and renegade roots. I kept at it until my lungs got hot and I needed to breathe. Then I kept at it some more until I reached the valley floor.
Breathing hard, I looked back at the top of the slope. If I thought it was dark up on the road, then down here it was practically pitch black. It was all I could do to see the ground directly in front of me, but despite it all I knew one thing for certain: there weren’t any headlights.
I took a moment to lean up against a tree. Catch my breath. Get my bearings. I had to figure out which direction Vanny’s house was in. Was it to the North? North-East? The cold nipped at my ears, bit at my nose. It was worse down here. Frigid.
The damn sheriff really made a mess of things.
My hands dug in my pocket and pulled out my flashlight. I'd brought it along just in case things got too dark to navigate, and boy was I happy I did. Since I couldn't see the sheriff's headlights through the canopy of trees, I knew there was no way he'd see the glow of my flashlight either.
I flicked it on.
Good. That was better. Shivering, I used the light to navigate as best I could, spotting familiar landmarks that I remembered from playing in the valley as a kid and using those to plot my course. A big boulder here. A broken tree there.
It was all coming back to me. With any luck, I'd make it out of here before frostbite set in, and I'd get to Vanny's with all my fingers and toes in tact. She'd like that. Probably call me a damn fool for going to such trouble for a cup of coffee with her, but then I never said I was a genius.
Something snapped behind me.
A tree branch, maybe? It sounded big. I paused, wheeling around and casting my light as far as it would go. I couldn’t see anything but the shadow of tree trunks and fresh fallen snow. I knew for a fact that there were bears in those woods, but surely they’d be hibernating by this time of year.
“Hello?” I whispered. I didn’t think the sheriff had the dexterity to chase me down here on foot, but it was possible he sent his partner after me. “Deputy Marigold?”
No reply. Come to think of it, I couldn’t hear any sound at all. Not the pitter-patter of squirrels hoarding winter food, or even the flap of wings flying through the trees. The forest was silent. Still.
Another snap. This time, bigger. It rang out like a gunshot and I scrambled, running blindly backwards as my ears filled with the sound of rushing branches, ricocheting off timber as something plummeted toward the earth. A tree.
A fir branch whipped across the back of my jacket, smashing me to the ground and taking the breath out of my lungs. The ground rumbled as the tree crashed next to me.
I wheezed. Gasped for breath. I rose onto my hands on knees, freeing myself from the branch and trembling with adrenaline. I'd nearly just been flattened, and I couldn’t even tell where the tree had fallen from or what caused it. The dark was thick enough that my light didn't stretch far.
No, I told myself. No time to go investigating.
I wiped snow from my face, teeth chattering. I had to keep moving. Just a little further and I’d be out of these woods and in front of a hot fireplace, making coffee with the warmest woman I knew.
Besides, it wasn't that big a deal. Sometimes trees fell. That's just how nature worked-- it wasn't something you could predict.
I carried on for another few minutes when my stomach twisted. There it was again. That feeling. The same one I'd had up on the road, that feeling of being watched. Stalked. I swung my light around, doing my best to illuminate the snow-covered trees and brush, but I could barely see ten feet in front of me.
"Hello?" I tried again.
No reply. If there was a deputy down here, then surely they'd have made a sound when that tree came down, right? Of course they would. He'd have had to ask if I was okay, if I was still alive if only to properly fill out his report back at the station.
That meant it was my imagination. Just a bit of paranoia.
They say a dark forest is the ultimate evolutionary fear. The perfect embodiment of the unknown. Our ancestors didn't roam the woods at night because just about everything that lived there could see or hear them before they knew they were there. Some of those things were bigger than them, too. Hungrier.
But I wasn't some neanderthal, hunter-gatherer. I was smarter than that, and besides I could finally see the other end of the valley. The slope that led to Vanny's cabin. The lights of her windows peeking through the trees.
A low groan filled the night, distorted like a scratching record.
I spun around. My ears strained for the sound of footsteps, the sound of breathing but I couldn't hear a damn thing but my heart slamming in my chest. Was that the sound of an animal? If it was, it wasn't any animal I'd ever heard, and I'd lived next to these woods my whole life.
“Is somebody out there?” I called. An awful feeling took hold in my gut, replacing the creeping sensation of being watched. Now I felt like I was being hunted.
"Fuck this," I muttered. I took off at a sprint, racing toward Vanny's house as fast as my feet could trample the snow. It crunched beneath my boots, my breath coming in great white clouds. If there was some psychopath in the trees then I wasn't about to wait around and make this easy for them.
A screech pierced the forest. Wings thundered as birds fled from the tree-tops in droves, filling my ears with their cries. Another screech followed, this one lower-pitched. Snow crunched beneath feet. Not mine.
Something was walking toward me.
Time to move. I scrambled at the slope, struggling to find purchase against the icy incline. I slipped, falling, falling. My jaw smashed into a rock. The taste of blood filled my mouth, my vision swimming as I tumbled down the side of the valley, crashing against a tree at the bottom.
“Get away from me!” I coughed, spitting out one of my teeth. I felt dizzy as I got back to my feet, disoriented, but I held my ground, staring defiantly into the dark wall of trees and my unseen assailant.
“I’m armed,” I lied “If I were you, I’d turn right around and start walking, otherwise you’re getting my .45 between the eyes.”
Footsteps crunched beyond my vision. Whatever was out there sounded big, big as a bear or a moose. Now it was circling me. Was this what had knocked over that tree? Had it been following me this whole time?
Another screech, this one deafening. My head rang with the sound of it, reverberating around my skull like an exploding nail bomb. I clenched my ears and fell to my knees. Tears stained my cheeks, freezing in the air.
Light blinded me.
I shielded my eyes, stunned and disoriented as two headlights beamed down at me not ten feet away. I scrambled backward, confused. The sheriff? The hell was he doing down here? How did he get his SUV down that incline, let alone through all those trees?
The headlights began to sway, moving closer to me. No, that wasn't right. Headlights weren't supposed to sway, and wheels weren't supposed to sound like footsteps either. The crunch of the snow was like a bell tolling, each step marking me a moment closer to death.
"What are you?" I screamed, emptiness filling me up inside. Suddenly I felt weak. Hopeless. It was as though just being near this thing was killing my will to live. If I had my .45 with me, I'd have pressed it to my skull and pulled the trigger as many times as it took.
The headlights reached out. A long, twisted and gnarled arm that looked like it ought to have belonged to a tree grabbed me by my torso, snapping my ribs like twigs. I threw back my head and screamed.
A voice reached my ears, something deep and cold. Colder than winter.
It sounded familiar. It sounded like it lived at the bottom of every whisky bottle I'd ever drank, like the whispers in my head every time I'd fucked up, every time I'd made a mistake so bad I wished I was dead.
"I," said the voice, "... want to taste your misery."

______________________________________
This is the part where I tell you I managed to get away. That I kicked the creature in its giant, glowing eyes and made a beeline up the slope and never saw it again. I wish I could say that was the truth, I really do.
But the truth is much worse.
The truth is that Vanny Williams saved my life that night. Maybe she heard my screams. Maybe she just had a feeling that something wasn't right, that somebody was in trouble. Honestly, I don't even know if she knew it was me. Vanny was the sort of girl that'd go out of her way to help anybody.
She came out of her cabin and did what she did best: hunted. She rained bullets onto those headlights, distracting them, pissing them off enough that they let me be and ran off.
Ran to her.
Six bullets to its head, and still it climbed the slope of the valley like an anthill. Six bullets to its head, and still it took her screaming into the trees. Now she’s another statistic. One of the missing. The sheriff's calling me crazy for what I saw, telling everybody that I’m a drunk and Vanny just had enough and skipped town like the rest.
I know what I saw, though, and I think the folks at the military facility know too. The feeling I had beneath the glare of those headlights was like nothing I'd felt before, a hopelessness that's difficult to put into words. Simply put, I'd have taken death over another second of it. Even if that death came by my own hand.
Ever since that happened the military's been watching me. They've been driving by my house from sunrise to sunset, and more than once I've spotted somebody going through my trash. I've tried reaching out to news organizations but nobody wants to run my story. Even now, in the dead of night they're out there. Maybe they don't think I'm awake, or maybe they've just given up all pretense of keeping a low profile. I don't know. All I know is I can see them through the crack in my blinds, waiting patiently in my driveway.
Two headlights in the dark.

Day 23 - Ether
-------------------
FCG & Milo (Krook House QueerPlatonic Polycule - Modern Human AU)
“What's that smell? It's sorta… sweet?”
“Ah! My bad! Give me a second and cover your nose and mouth!”
Fresh Cut Grass swiftly did as they were told, pulling down their sweater sleeve to cover everything up. Just a few seconds later the smell dissipated and out of their room slunk one very guilty looking Milo Krook.
“Sorry! I didn't seal the cracks under the door properly when working with the ether. That's what you were smelling, by the way. Which is bad. It's a pretty bad irritant and can make you feel pretty sick. At high enormity amounts it can even kill. Not that I have that much, but still. My bad.”
Ah, typical Milo.
They couldn't help but smile through the bright yellow fabric of their sleeve.
“It's alright, no harm done! I only just started smelling it half a minute ago, so I think I should be fine. I just have a real good sense of smell!”
“Well, you're not wrong there. You could smell a gas leak three blocks down.”
“I caught when our fridge was leaking gas!”
Right before any devices around the house had started blaring their alarms too. Fresh Cut Grass had been especially pleased with themself that day. Rightfully so, they still thought. It was a useful skill to have! Life saving, even!
“What were you using ether for? One of your projects? Or is this work related?”
“A bit of both. It's a pretty good solvent, you see, and I'm working with some heat sensitive materials here, which it plays well with….”
Milo trailed off, scratching at their cheek with a gloved hand.
“Technical boring stuff, really. It's all prep work for some stuff I've got going, you know I struggle with finding parts in good nic. I'm just cleaning some bits up before I can get to the fun parts. It's looking pretty dark out now though…”
“That's also why I was coming your way! It's 10 minutes to 6pm, and Ashton is already ready. I was going to ask if you're almost ready to go!”
“.... Shit.”
With some truly ridiculous speeds for Milo, their bespectacled was back into their room, and one didn't need especially good hearing to make out the sounds of frenzied panic inside.
“Please don't stress yourself by rushing! I'm sure Ash wouldn't want you hurting yourself for them!”
“I'm- crap!” A crash was heard, followed by a VERY heavy sigh. “I'm okay. Just my ego that's bruised. Tell him I’ll be out in five minutes top, ready to go! It was Tai Chi and a movie, right?”
“Mhm! So remember to wear something comfortable!”
Fresh Cut Grass shook their head, the action more one of loving, yet exasperated amusement than anything else. Perhaps they should gift Milo an alarm clock or something. They loved them an awful lot, but gosh was their time blindness when in ‘the zone’ just a tad frustrating!
Oh well, they thought as Fresh Cut Grass watched Milo dash from their room, still halfway through pulling their shoes on. No one was perfect!
And besides, wasn't it the little imperfections that made them human?

You sighed as you rolled to a stop behind the yellow taxi. You craned your neck to try to see around the lines of cars, another deadlock in New York traffic. You couldn’t be surprised as you idled in one spot and leaned your hand on the wheel as you checked the time.
You heard a siren, saw lights flashing ahead, and heard shouts. Again, not unusual for the city.
You rubbed your forehead as the sun beat down through your window and the humidity built as it leaked in through your open window. You tried not to use the AC too much as it made your old Chrysler overheat in the annual New York heatwave. You shifted in your seat and pulled against the belt as you tried once more to peer past the crowded vehicles.
You heard heavy footsteps, several sets echoing from all directions. A figure appeared on the other side of your car and the back door was ripped open. The man ducked as he slammed the door behind him and laid across the seat. He rolled down onto the floor, a sudden invasion that shocked you.
“What the fuck--get out of my car!” you snarled.
“Honey, you’re gonna wanna keep it down,” he said as his large body barely fit in the crevice between the seats.
“What--”
He poked a gun up towards you and waved it, “eyes forward,” he said, “hands on the wheel, and turn the music up.”
“I don’t have any money--”
“I don’t want your money now shut up,” he hissed, “now you keep it up and I’ll blow a hole through your seat… pity you’re on the other side.”
Your adrenaline spiked and the pounding in your temples deafened you. You turned the knob of the radio to drown out the pulsing and the man’s ragged breaths. Several others appeared, several dressed as officers and few in civilian clothing. You grasped the wheel and made yourself stare at the license plate ahead of you.
The search party dispersed as they called out to each other and the cab slowly crawled forward. The man squinted up through the window as the cars around you began to move as well.
“Drive,” he said.
“What do you want?” you asked shakily as you pressed lightly on the gas.
“To do what I tell you,” he barked and wiggled uncomfortably on the floor, “you keep driving until you’re out of the city and then maybe we’ll talk.”
“It’s rush hour, that could take ages,” you huffed.
“So take ages,” he growled, “you don’t stop ‘til I tell you, got it?”
You nodded and cleared your throat, “uh huh,” you looked in your rearview as a gunshot rang, “exit?”
“Whatever gets you out of New York now shut up and drive.”
You did as he said. You made your way at a snail’s pace until traffic began to thin out and you turned away from your usual route.
“Tell me what street you’re on when you turn,” he ordered, “don’t fuck around with me.”
You looked at the sign and read it aloud. You followed a silver Civic to the next and again recited the name on the dented sign. You checked the clock again. Your meeting would have already started, that was probably why your bag wouldn’t stop vibrating.
“Give me your phone,” he said. You reached over blindly and grabbed your purse. You dropped it to him and he quickly unzipped it, “roll the window down,” again, you obeyed as you recalled the sight of the gun.
He pulled apart your phone and you glanced back over your shoulder. He had the back of and the battery in his hand. “Hey--”
“Keep your eyes on the road,” he flung the battery out the window and bent the phone in half. He tossed it too and righted his gun to aim over the console, “go on.”
“You can take the car, please… people will look for me,” you pleaded.
“Not for a while,” he laid back and gripped the gun, “now someone sees you arguing with your windshield and they gonna get curious so shut up and enjoy the… is that music?”
You changed the station with a flick of your finger, you barely registered the smoky tones of Springsteen as you focused on steering and reading out the street names. Your veins burned as our blood pumped wildly from your racing heart and the man’s scent tickled your nostrils; he smelled of blood and sweat. You hoped he didn’t add your own to the stains on his jeans.
💀
It was dark as your car dinged. You swore and looked ahead for a sign. You shook your head and blew out a long breath.
“I need gas,” you said to the phantom in the back seat.
He grunted as he pushed himself up from the floor and sat up, “gotta be a station close.”
“And if there isn’t?”
“Then we get out and push,” he scoffed, “stop worrying about ‘if’ and find us a station.”
You rolled your eyes. The man was annoying, even if he was terrifying. You scratched your nose and sat forward with a yawn. “I’d know if you hadn’t destroyed my phone.”
“See, right up there,” he ignored your gripe, “yellow sign just ahead.”
“Christ,” you huffed and blinked at the black road.
“I’m sure you had some real important business,” he grumbled, “but I’m sure the coffee can make itself.”
“Excuse me? Fuck off, I’m not some--”
“You’re gonna miss your turn,” he warned and you flipped your signal on.
You pulled into the station and he scooped up your purse. You shut the car off and unbuckled your belt. You twisted in your seat to watch him search your purse. He pulled out your wallet and counted the bills inside.
“Right, we fill up then we’re back to it,” he opened the door and stepped out.
He uncapped your tank and pulled a hose from the meter. He slid it into the slot and kept a hand lazily on the handle. You slowly opened your door and got out. You looked at him over the top of the car as he scowled at you, it was the first good look you got at him.
His dark hair was shaved on the side but he had about and inch or two up top, his nose was crooked, and his dark eyes were set beneath a forehead that betrayed a frequent grimace. You looked at the lights of the station then back at him.
“I gotta… go pee,” you said.
“You wait,” he said, “I’ll go with you.”
“What?”
“You think I’m stupid?” He released the level and tapped the nozzle as he pulled it out, “hold your horses, I’m comin’.”
He put the hose back in and stomped over to you. You saw the gun tucked into his belt and he pulled his jacket over it. He snatched the keys from you and grabbed your arm and marched you to the blazing door of the station.
“You have one minute before I come in and drag you out, pants down or not,” he tore open the door and shoved you through.
You curled your lip as he took a few sticks of jerky from a display and approached the counter. As you got to the sign over the restroom, you looked back as he stared at you. He raised a thick brow and tapped his wrist as if he wore a watch; he did not.
You went into the bathroom and locked the heavy door behind you. You looked around the grimy room and shuddered at the stained toilet bowl. You stepped up on the seat and looked out the small window above. It might be big enough if you suck in.
You stepped on the pipe beside the handle and pushed on the pain. It was just as gross as the rest of the room. The pane finally popped out and you hauled yourself over the high ledge. The glass didn’t quite open wide enough so you had to bend as you wiggled through. You had a high chance of landing on your head but you really didn’t want to chance worse with that man.
You kicked as you were lodged halfway through the window and a knock came at the door, “better pull your pants up,” your abductor called through the door.
You struggled to force yourself through as you tried to angle your hips past the frame. The door burst open with a frightening kick and you flailed your legs as you tried to hit the man blindly and keep him away. He caught your ankles and pulled you back. You cried out and grabbed the window frame so that you didn’t crash down into the toilet.
“Hey, let me go,” you tried to kick him again and he batted away your foot.
“You do that again and you won’t have a safe landing,” he tugged again and you nearly lost your grip on the ledge, “now come on.”
“You got my wallet, my keys, everything, so why don’t you just leave me--”
“Don’t make me count,” he sounded like a father.
“Count? Oh, come on, what am I gonna do? Just let me go.”
“Three,” he swung you just a little, “two,” he gripped your legs firmly, “O--”
“Okay!” you shouted, “okay, just-- let me down.”
Cautiously he bent and put your feet on the floor. He stood and you pushed yourself straight. He grabbed your arm and spun you to face him. He bent and rammed his shoulder into your stomach as he scooped you up. You yiped and pounded on his back as he turned and carried you out of the restroom.
As he strutted down the aisle, the clerk stared at you in confusion. The man reached the door and paused, “on her rag, she gets a bit pissy.” He left the store with a chime and carried you across the lot, “you want the trunk or are you gonna be good?”
You pulled on the back of his jacket and gritted your teeth, “would you put me down?”
“I won’t ask again so either you choose or I do,” he said as he neared the car.
“Alright, alright,” you snarled as he popped the trunk, “I’ll be good just don’t-- not in there.”
He harrumphed and walked around to close the trunk. He brought you up to the passenger side and dropped you on your feet. Dizzy, you grabbed onto the car and he ripped the door open, narrowly missing you with it.
“In,” he pointed to the seat.
You glared at him and stepped under his arm. You sat and he closed the door with a snap. He rounded the hood and the car dipped as he sat in the driver’s seat. He fumbled with keys and shoved them in the slot. He turned the ignition and shifted in the seat.
He took a stick of jerky from his pocket and peeled the plastic. He took a bite as he put the car in drive. He pulled out with one hand on the wheel and chewed noisily and he siphoned through the radio station with his greasy finger. You buckled your seatbelt out of habit and crossed your arms.
“Get some shut-eye,” he gristled, “you’ll be drivin’ once the sun comes up.”
“Where the fuck are you taking me?” you groaned.
“Dunno, far,” he answered bluntly, “no talk, just sleep.”
“I’m not a dog,” you muttered.
“Keep actin’ like one and I’ll get you a leash,” he snorted.
“I really don’t get why you don’t just take the car--”
“As useless as I’d agree you are, you’ve seen my face and the longer I keep you from running back and snitching, the better chance I got,” he adjusted the seat as he chewed the last of the salted meat, “but there is another option?”
“There is?” you asked.
“Yeah, I could kill you,” he chuckled.
You swallowed and exhaled as you leaned your head back heavily. You peeked over at him as he focused on the road and as much as you wanted to leap from the moving car, you knew that would be just as fatal. So you huddled down and closed your eyes.
“Would you turn that down?” you nodded at the radio.
“You askin’ me to turn down a classic?” he turned the knob and Robert Plant’s voice whined from the speakers, “a nice little lullaby for you.”
You closed your eyes and turned in the seat so that you faced the door, the belt strained against you awkwardly but you didn’t care. You crossed your legs and tried to drown out the music. Even without the racket, you wouldn’t sleep easy.

You woke after hours of uncomfortable sleep in the car seat. The car was still as you yawned and groaned as your stiff muscles rebelled. You sat up as you heard the sound of water hitting the dirt. The man was just outside with his back to you, pissing on the side of the road.
You looked to the ignition but the keys weren’t there. He finished up and zipped up noisily. He opened the door and bent to look at you. He kept his hand on the door as his eyes met yours.
“Get out, stretch your legs, you gotta piss, there’s a bush,” he jabbed his other thumb behind him.
“Really?”
“Or you can keep holding it,” he shrugged and closed the door. He walked around the front of the car and pushed an arm over his head to stretch his shoulder. You took a breath as your irritation bubbled and reached for the door handle.
You got out and held in a grunt. You walked around the back of the car and glanced around. The bush was small and poor cover. Even so, you really had to go as you spent your only opportunity trying to sneak out of the station. You looked at him and neared the leafy bunch. He blinked at you and turned his back.
“I hear any funny business,” he said over his shoulder, “you can piss your pants instead.”
You shoved your pants down and squatted. You let out a steady stream and almost sighed as the pressure left your pelvis. When you finished, you waited until you were relatively dry and pulled your pants back up.
“All done,” you said as you went back to the car. He shook his head and pointed you to his side.
“You drive, sign says there’s a motel about an hour down the road,” he opened the driver’s door.
You got in and he snapped the door shut before he went to the other side. He settled in the seat and slid the keys into the ignition, turning it until the engine rumbled. He leaned back and pushed his fingers back against his palm.
“Right, let’s go.”
You sniffed and pulled back onto the empty highway. You’d never been down that one before, an old country road with sparse exits. He pushed on his jaw until his neck snapped and you winced. You hated the noise.
“So, what do I call you then?” you asked.
He was silent and you felt him watching you, “like you care.”
“I don’t but looks like I’m stuck with you, so…”
“Mmm,” he pulled out some more jerky, “Frank.”
You nodded and stared at the endless road ahead. He said your name before you could.
“Saw it in your wallet,” he explained.
You drove in silence from there until he flipped the radio on. He chose a country station and you silently cursed his taste. You followed the signs and he pointed you to the old motel as you approached it. You thought of hitting the gas but that would do nothing but piss him off and probably get you hurt. Worse, you’d be stuck in the car with him for who knew how long.
You steered into the lot and he yanked the keys out of the ignition before you could. You mirrored him as he got out but he stomped over to your side. He leaned in as he lowered his voice.
“You can play along,” he pushed his jacket open and showed the butt of his gun, “or there’s still room in the trunk.”
“Fine,” you muttered.
“I mean it, you try anything,” he rested his hand on the gun, “you really wanna get someone else hurt?”
You nodded and chewed your lip, “I get it, okay?”
He pulled his jacket closed again and took your elbow, ushering you up to the front of the motel. You wriggled away as you reached the door and entered ahead of him. He drew you back as he followed you through the door and cleared his throat. The woman at the front desk looked up over her glasses and set aside the novel with a shirtless man on the cover.
“Good afternoon,” she sang as she swiveled in her chair, “how can I help you two today?”
“We need a room,” Frank said as he pulled out a wad of money.
“Deposit’s three-hundred, sir,” the woman replied, “can I get a name?”
“Ben Tacker,” he lied smoothly as he counted out the money.
“Alright, and a piece of ID?” she asked.
“Funny thing,” he peeled a fifty free and held it over the desk to her, “I lost it.”
She stared at him and slowly took the bill. She shoved it in her pocket and counted the rest out. She handed him a paper to sign and he scribbled without caring. She handed him the key and he thanked her in the same gruff voice.
“You two have fun,” she called after him as he swung open the door and waved you out.
He chuckled and shook his head, “sure will,” he said before the door shut again.
He looked at the number on the tag and led you to the door with the same. He unlocked it and waited for you to enter. The lock clicked as he trailed you and brushed past you as he went to the closet. You watched in confusion as he pulled out a stack of extra bedding and shared shredding the tinged top sheet.
He took one of the strips as he neared you. You backed up against the door and he wrenched you away as he pulled the single chair up behind you. He sat you down and held your wrist against the narrow arm of the chair. As he began to wind the strip around your wrist, you twisted and he squeezed so hard your fingers went numb.
“Can’t trust ya but I gotta get some sleep,” he growled as he finished tying your first hand. He went back and took another strip of linen, he repeated the process on your other arm and both your legs.
“And what if I have to pee?” you pulled against the bounds but only added to your discomfort.
“Hold it,” he shrugged and took the remote. He flipped on the television and pushed the control into your hand, “there. I don’t wanna hear another word.”
“You’re not serious? You’re just gonna leave me like this?”
“I coulda left you in the trunk,” he turned and walked around the foot of the bed, he plopped down with a sigh, “you should be thanking me?”
He untied his boots and kicked them off. He pulled off his jacket and tossed it over the far side of the bed. He set the gun on the table beside the lamp and stretched his arms behind his head. As he laid back, he shifted awkwardly and dug in his pocket, he tossed your credit card up onto the table with a flick.
“Now, don’t go pullin’ shit or we won’t get that deposit back,” he groaned as he wiggled to get comfortable, “not my money so I don’t really care either way.”
“You… asshole,” you huffed and he smirked.
“I think an asshole woulda just taken the car,” he said, “and left you with a hole in your head.”
You clamped your lips together and shook your head. You hit a button and searched through the channels. You didn’t really care what you watched, you wouldn’t be able to pay attention anyway. You stopped at an old episode of NewsRadio and let the remote rest on the end of the arm.
The laugh track filled the interminable silence and after some time, low snores rose from the bed. You peeked over at Frank, his arm slung over his face as his chest rose and fell steadily. He might be irritating but you had enough sense to be afraid of him. If you had to guess, he was ex-military and judging by your inopportune meeting, he was also a wanted man.
You fidgeted as much as you could in the chair and turned back to the screen. It was as if the recorded guffaws were at your expense. You slumped as the cotton chafed around your wrists and yawned. Your back was still stiff from your nap in the car and the chair was little better with its thin pleather cushioning and short back.
💀
You didn’t remember falling asleep, not until you woke up in terrible pain. Your head hung over as you were nearly folded over your lap entirely, your bound arms holding you just above. You groaned as you pushed yourself up and it sent a pang up your neck. You heard the rattle of pipes and looked over at the empty bed.
You let out a strained breath and moved your head side to side, just slightly as the pain lingered and throbbed with each pivot. You balled your hands in fists and tried to twist your arms against the linen. You flexed your legs too, wiggling your feet as you tried to loosen the ties.
The chair began to rock as you fought against your restraints. The remote fell to the floor and the television kept blaring. As you were sure you just needed a little more, the chair tipped and you bounced off the side of the bed as it crashed down onto its side. The impact had your head spinning and shower faucet squeaked off.
You kept moving your arms and legs, desperate to free yourself before he could discover you. There was no hiding your intent anymore. The bathroom door opened and your heart swelled. Shit. You hissed as you heard his footsteps and looked up as his shadow loomed over you.
Frank stood in nothing but a towel, his thickly muscles torso still damp as he glared down at you. You cringed and tried not to see more than you wanted.
“I gotta take a leak,” you lied, well, not exactly untrue.
“Uh huh,” he hummed doubtfully and grabbed the chair.
He hauled you back up and planted the chair back in place. He shook his head at you and retreated. He pulled one of the white robes from the hook on the wall and pulled it over the towel. He tied the belt tightly and dropped the other layer before he disappeared back into the bathroom.
When he emerged again, you watched him dully, “I really do have to go,” you said.
He ignored you and checked his gun. He slid open the drawer and set it inside.
“Well,” he came around the bed, “I got some bad news for you, There’s no window in there,” he grabbed the strip around your left wrist and unknotted it, “so, I’ll give you two minutes.”
He untied you and watched as you rubbed your wrists. You stood with a wince as your legs ached but he didn’t back up. You sidled past him and he turned to keep his dark eyes on you as you approached the bathroom. You swung the door shut and nearly collapsed on the other side.
The bathroom smelled of the gardenia scented soap that came with the room and there was still moisture in the air. You relieved yourself quickly and stood to gaze into the mirror. You looked awful, you felt awful. You splashed your face with cold water and leaned heavily on the porcelain.
Whether you listened to that man or not, you were fairly certain the result would be the same. You could see it now, the black barrel of the gun, his finger on the trigger. You shuddered and shook out your hands as if to get rid of your nerves. You stood straight and groaned as you stretched out the knots in your limbs and back.
You went back into the hotel room as you rubbed your neck, the needling pain still buried at the base of your skull.
“Tell you what,” he said as he sat on the bed and aimed the remote at the screen, “I can tie you up again or you can make both our lives easier and just lay down.”
“Is there a third option?” you winced as another jolt went through your spine.
He snickered and pointed to the pillows, “we’re leavin’ early,” he said, “so you can sleep now or sleep in the car.”
You gave no response as you went around the other side of the bed. You eased yourself down against the pillow and let out an unwitting groan. It felt good to lay down. You turned onto your side, your face away from him, and he finally stopped switching stations.
You closed your eyes and hugged yourself as his weight rested at the bottom of the bed. It wasn’t hard to drift off as the pain chased you into unconsciousness and the stress of the last day shrouded your mind. You only hoped he wasn’t waiting for you in your dreams.
💀
The night's stay was taken out of the deposit and you were back on the road to nowhere. The man gave you gruff directions as he closed his eyes in the passenger seat. At night, you switched and you grew complacent as the endless travel wore on your wits. You didn't know why he wouldn't just let you go. He could take the car and the last of your money and just leave you alone. Likely the separation would be preferable to both parties.
Another motel after a week of driving and you were thankful to be standing still. You were asleep on your feet as you dragged your feet behind your grumpy captor and as you leaned on the front desk and bid farewell to even more of your cash, you barely processed the conversation happening around you.
Frank's arm wrapped around your waist and he pulled you close. You flinched and sneered at him. You felt so gross, you didn’t want to be touched, let alone by him. The desk clerk handed him a key and chuckled.
“It’s been a long trip,” Frank said, “think we just need some R and R.”
You blinked at him stupidly as he turned you around and swept you out the door. Outside, you shoved him away and stumbled as he laughed at your pathetic effort.
“What the fuck was that about?” you scowled.
“Well, you looked like you were about to keel over, just tryna keep you on your feet,” he jingled the keys and led you up to the second level.
“Don’t do that again,” you mumbled as you waited for him to unlock the door.
“Sure, honey,” he said mockingly as he slid the key out and kicked the door open, “come on.”
Just like last time, he locked the door and you looked around at the small room, a single queen and another rickety chair.
“Please, don’t,” you said as you crossed the room, “I’ll stay, just don’t tie me up. I need to lay down.”
“You need to wash the road off ya,” he quipped as he peeked into the bathroom, “ladies first.”
You stared at him and tilted your head. He might have kept you alive so far but you could hardly trust him. After all, you weren’t exactly there by choice. You tiptoed forward, warily eyeing him as you got closer. He stepped back and crossed his arms.
“You might not be able to smell ya but I can,” he nodded through the door, “ten minutes.”
You stepped inside and he snapped the door shut behind you. You sat on the toilet and rubbed your eyes. You looked down at your clothes, rumpled and stained with sweat and filth. You took a moment and stood to strip off the layers one at a time.
You cranked on the shower and stepped under the stream. The shower curtain rang as you pulled it around the tub and you basked in the hot water. It felt good and your muscles relaxed as rivulets trailed down your skin. You scrubbed with the vague floral scented soap and scrubbed until you felt a little more like yourself.
Reluctantly, you turned the faucet off and reached for the towel on the bar. You lowered your foot onto the tile and patted yourself as you stared at your blurred silhouette in the steamy mirror. A knock sounded at the door and had you wrapping yourself in the white cotton.
“Ay, they got some machines here,” his voice scratched, “should probably wash those rags up while we’re here.”
You tucked the towel in at the top and gathered up your clothes. You neared the door hesitantly and cracked it open. You peeked out at him as he watched you impatiently.
“Figure you can’t run naked… well, if you try, it won’t be so easy,” he remarked. You shoved your clothes through wordlessly, “there’s some robes out here when you’re done with your sauna, princess.”
You rolled your eyes and shut the door. You heard him chuckle and move around the room as he grumbled under his breath. You waited for the other door to open and close before you emerged.
You took the robe folded over the bottom of the bed and tied the belt tight around your waist. You sat on the bed, your back to the frame and switched on the television. You thought of running but he was right, even if you eluded him, you doubted there were many who wouldn’t do worse to a barely clothed woman, not out there in the middle of nowhere.
He returned shortly and dropped a haul of processed foods on the bed from the vending machines. He wore a robe as well but it was smaller on him and the flimsy white slippers provided with the room. He shuffled through his trove of salt and sugar.
He took the two cups and placed them on the small round table and filled the kettle from the bathroom sink. He plugged it in and flipped the switch. “Hope you like chicken noodle,” he said.
You read the guide on the TV and punched in the channel playing re-runs of Law and Order. It was a grim choice but you just needed to disassociate from the dingy motel. The kettle clicked and his shadow flickered in your peripheral. Frank sat and the mattress dipped beside you. He held out a steaming cup with a plastic spoon sticking out of it.
“Thanks,” you took it and leaned back as you stirred the boiling soup.
“We’ll grab some burgers at the next stop,” he grizzled, “Fuckin’ starvin’.”
You said nothing and stared at the lawyers arguing on screen with the detectives. They were trying to figure out how a woman ended up in a motel with marks around her neck; dead. A chill went through you and you slowly glanced over at the man beside you.
He squinted and returned your gaze. His mouth slanted and he shook his head, “really?” he challenged nonchalantly.
You took a deep breath and turned back to the screen. You sipped at the hot broth and scooped up noodles as you tried not to think about being strangled to death on the bathroom floor.
When you finished, you set the empty cup aside and slid under the covers as the afterglow of the shower weighed down your limbs. You just wanted to sleep. If he did decide to kill you then, you wouldn’t even know the difference.
He grabbed a candy bar from the mess and sat back, jarring the whole bed as he did. You rolled onto your side and pulled a pillow over your head. You squeezed your eyelids shut and tuned out the old tube television and the chewing of the man behind you. Sleep crept up on you in haze, half-aware of the muffled voices and the movement on the other side of the bed.
You pushed the pillow away as it grew warm beneath and sleepily pulled it under your head. You heard the distant noise of the pipes. Groggy, you sank back into a shallow sleep as the constant noise lulled you.
You were disturbed again when you were jostled and the television shut off. You felt him behind you and wiggled closer to the edge. He barely seemed bothered as he stretched out and you felt the heat radiating from his body. You drifted off once more, dreaming about the eternal highway and Frank’s bristly orders.
You snorted awake, this time from a haze so deep it felt as if you’d been drowning. You felt the arm over the middle, heavy and firm, and the hot breath on your neck. Your lashes fluttered, threatening to close again, but your adrenaline forced your eyes open.
He was flush to your back, his hard body against your back as his hand was slid into the opening of your robe. His rough fingertips rested against your soft torso, just beneath your breast.
“Frank,” you rasped and tugged on his wrist, “the fuck are you doing?”
He groaned and shushed you as he nestled closer. You went rigid as you felt a prod against your ass. You grabbed him more firmly but could not move his hand as he squeezed you tighter. His hand glided up against your resistance and he cupped your chest. You gasped and pulled at his long fingers.
“Frank, get your fuckin’ hands off of me--”
He ignored you and rolled his thumb over your nipple. Your breath caught in your throat and tried to push yourself up. He held you down as he snaked his other arm beneath your.
“Honey, just relax,” he said drowsily, “I ain’t hurtin’ ya.”
“Get off!” you slapped the back of his hand.
“Mmmm,” he purred and nuzzled the back of your head, “you smell like flowers.”
“Frank--”
“What else are we gonna do, honey?” he asked and his breath tickled your ear, “hmmm.”
He nibbled at your lobe and a chill went through you. You pressed your hands to his and knew he could feel the frantic beating of your heart. You shivered as his arousal poked against you again. You gulped and gasped as suddenly rolled onto his back and pulled you up onto him.
Your robe fell loose as you laid atop him, your back to his hard torso as his other hand roved lower. You squirmed and grasped at his wrists. He easily ignored you as he kneaded your tit and his other hand slid along your vee. You held your breath and pushed your legs together.
“That’s your problem, you just need to let go,” he hummed and brushed his fingertips down the line of your leg, “come on and open up for me.”
You shook your head against his shoulder and he pinched your thigh. You yelped and he did it again. You hit his hand and he laughed, a deep rumble that flowed through you. He dug his nails into your flesh as he continued to fondle your chest with his other hand.
You whimpered as he threatened to break the skin and let your legs fall open around his. He slid his fingers between your folds and over your clit. You gasped and he swirled his fingertips, sending a bolt of electricity through you. You gripped his thick wrist and gritted your teeth as you tried to resist the fire in your core.
“What d’ya think you’re still around for, huh?” he slithered as he poked around your cunt, pressing his fingers to your entrance.
You murmured a weak protest as your eyes rolled up and you stared at the wall above the bed. You huffed between your teeth as he shoved two fingers inside you. You clenched around them and your nerves rippled with the wave of pleasure.
His palm rubbed against your clit as he rocked his hand slowly and you shook your head, fighting the unwelcome thrumming as it pulsed deep within you.
His fingers slipped easily in and out of you as you slickened and reached back unthinkingly to curl your fingers into his sides. He moved his hand faster, the friction building to a spark. You closed your eyes as your nails pressed against his muscles and your legs bent around his.
You spasmed as you came, your surrender declared with a pathetic squeak. He didn’t stop until you were panting uncontrollably, your head lolling on his shoulder as you bit the tip of your tongue. When he pulled his fingers out, you whined at the sudden emptiness.
He rubbed his wet fingers along your cunt and spread your lips as he snaked his other hand beneath your leg. He tore open the tails of his robe and angled his tip against your opening. He urged you onto him, sliding you down his body until your back arched to accept him. You moaned as he entered you and the overwhelming fullness fueled your helpless voice.
“Hmm, honey,” her purred as his hot breath touched your scalp, “just what you needed, isn’t it?”
You sputtered as he moved his hips beneath you, rocking into you from below as he planted his feet in the mattress. He lifted you carefully and kept an arm around your middle as his other toyed with your sensitive bud. His thick breaths clouded around you as he moved your body in time with his.
He hooked his arm around around your left leg and pulled it higher, doing the same with your right as he fucked you harder. He reached from below to keep his thumb on your clit, your legs folded against your chest. He growled in your ear and bit the lobe again. You clawed at the blanket below him as he used you so easily, your shame smothered by your pleasure.
You orgasmed again and as your walls clenched around him, he groaned and his legs slipped down straight. He turned onto his side and quickly rolled you onto your stomach as he forced your legs down. He pinned you beneath him, weaving his arm through yours as he pulled them back as his twined his fingers behind your head.
He kept you pinned beneath him as his flesh clapped against yours loudly. You moans seeped into the pillow and his animalistic grunts punctuated each thrust. The bed shook beneath your bodies and he pushed his thigh up around yours. He sat up, still bucking his hips as he pulled your arms back and forced you to arch with him.
He gripped your elbows as he hammered into you. Your moans turned to whines as he pounded your walls and you gulped down air desperately. He growled and you felt his body tense as his hold on you broke. He shoved your head down against the pillow, almost suffocating you as he once more sped up.
He snarled and his motion grew spasmodic. He slowed and his hips jolted into you in jagged thrust. He emptied himself into you as his long fingers stretched over your scalp. Finally, he stopped, still straddling you as he heaved a shaky sigh. He sniffed and trembled as he ran his hand down your back.
“Really makes me happy I didn’t put a bullet in ya,” he rasped, “real…” he squeezed your hips and pushed in as deep as he could go, “happy.”

Pairing | bully!Jeno x chubby!Reader
Warning(s) | bullying, harsh words, cussing, sexual assault, name calling, fat shaming, poor shaming, face slapping, angst, hurtful comments, yelling, the Dreamies are not nice people (I know I did Jaemin wrong, I'm sorry)
Synopsis | Jeno was a bully, and you were his primary victim. Nothing should have changed, but Jeno began getting tired of bullying the girl he was in love with simply because she didn't conform to societies beauty standards. So she was chubby? So what?! His friends didn't see it that was.
Genre | ANGST, retro-flashback
Author’s Notes | So I wrote this a while back for an event of NCTA, which was basically writing a retro fic. This fic is very different than the fics I usually write. For one, it is told in Jeno's perspective rather than the readers. For two, this is a "chubby fic." Meaning the reader is seen in the fic as having a larger body weight, which, may I add here, is not a problem, nor should it ever be. If you are being bullied for anything, please don't let it go unreported. Report it as many times as you have to because bullying is not ok, whether it's done at school, at home, or anywhere else. Also, there is a possibility that there will be a part two, I have had some people (before posting it here) request a part two but I'm on the fence about that, but perhaps a part two will show some change and growth on Jeno's part. So we'll see. Tell me your opinions though! I hope you enjoy~

A group of six boys sat around a table talking and laughing until a loud crash resounded through the snack shack that brought their attention to a waitress on the floor, yellow heels scattered behind her, empty tray in her hands and spilled drinks everywhere as well as on a girl by the table the waitress had fallen at.
“Clutz,” one of the boys, Jeno, mumbled, shaking his head.
“Fatass,” Jeno’s best friend, Jaemin responded.
The other four muttered something along the lines of agreement as they watched the waitress cowering on the floor with a bright red face as the girl now covered in cola shrieked about her ruined clothing and hair.
Jaemin got up from his seat angrily.
“What the hell are you doing to my girlfriend!” he yelled, approaching the pair.
“Jaeminnie! She poured soda all over me!” the girl pouted, running into Jaemins arms.
Jeno rolled his eyes.
Jeno shook his head. Out of all of the boys in their biker gang, Jaemin just had to be the most gullible, falling for the Queen Bee of the high school who used him for nothing more than his money and face.
“She ruined my shirt,” Jeno heard the girl whine.
Jaemin embraced her tighter.
“You’ll have to pay for her clothing, fatty!” Jaemin demanded.
The waitress was someone Jeno recognized. (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N). She had been one of his best friends when he was a shy ten year old trying to fit in. They both befriended Jaemin and the rest of their group and somewhere along the way, he’d gotten muscular and tall while she’d gotten chubby. With Jeno’s looks, he’d always been popular with girls, but when he became interested in them as more than friends, he’d dumped the girl in favor of girlfriends.
She was a bullied girl wearing outdated clothing that made adequate grades. A nobody. She didn’t fit into any groups. She drifted through high school being shoved against lockers while her books were thrown across the hallway and what little lunch money she had was stolen. More often than not, Jeno or one of the other guys was the perpetrator.
“I can’t…” (y/n) muttered, looking down at the floor.
Jaemin kicked the carrying tray away from her, making the girl flinch.
Something in Jeno’s heart snapped against his chest, but he’d never allow it to escape. He watched tears gather in the corner of the girl's eyes and Jeno fought the urge to pull her to his chest.
Feelings began to stir their first year in high school when he and (y/n) had been seated side-by-side in homeroom and he’d leaned over to tease her about her recent, awkwardly styled hair when he’d met the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen.
The feelings made his stomach twist in knots and his body tingled. Feelings and sensations that only grew stronger when their skin brushed or when her angelic voice met his ears.
The feelings were what drove him to brash treatment. His hands shoving her shoulders against the lockers as he demanded for her money. Fingers harshly tugging at the ends of her hair. His voice yelling horrible things at her just to hear her speak back.
He couldn’t tell anyone how he was feeling either. Dating the chubby girl would cause him to lose whatever popularity he had obtained along with his pride and his gang. Their leader couldn’t be seen as the weak punk who decided to date the chubby girl from a poor family.
Jaemin sneered down at the blushing girl, taunting her loudly and Jeno watched her feeble attempt at hiding her face.
“Jaemin! Let’s go. Chubby over here isn’t worth our time,” Jeno called loudly, voice filled with authority that had Jaemin immediately moving away from the girl.
“Fine. But she owes us free meals for a week! Those clothes were expensive!” Jaemin whined.
He kissed his girlfriend's cheek and walked to the door to wait on the rest of the gang who were stuffing their last few fries in their mouths or finishing off their milkshakes.
“Let’s roll,” Jaemin called, a grin on his face.
Jeno shook his head at how fast the male changed perspectives. He grabbed his leather jacket off the back of his chair, sliding his arms into it and let it snap against his back.
The last few members finished their plates, leaving them on the table before grabbing their own jackets and following Jaemin out the door. Jeno took the end, stopping by the waitress on the floor.
“Maybe get some heels your fat feet can walk in, huh Dollface?” he sneered.
Her face flew red again and he rolled his eyes.
“And you should stop blushing. You look like a tomato. Vegetables aren’t attractive. Although it’s fitting. Tomatoes are plump.”
He walked out the door without another word, heart hammering painfully in his ears. He wanted to tell her how beautiful she was, but that was a problem. He couldn’t think chubby girls were beautiful. What would his friends think?
The loud purr of an engine met his ears and he sighed happily, most of his regret getting washed away, uprooted by the smell of motor oil and tires.
Jeno’s ride was a cherry red 1960 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with shiny silver wheels that didn’t match the rusted gas tank or muffler that Jeno was now saving to restore among other things. The black leather seat was slightly cracked from wear over the years and the breaks didn’t always work great. His headlight needed a new spark plug and the oil line leaked. Still, with all of these issues, he loved his bike. Each new issue gave him something to work on at night in his father's tiny little garage when all he wanted was grease on his chest and a wrench in his hand.
“Let’s go Jeno! I wanna ride!” Donghyuck moaned from his spot on his own bike, revving the engine with his right hand.
Jeno rolled his eyes at Donghyuck’s whining. Out of all of them, he was the one that loved traveling the most. They’d gone all the way up the coast the day they’d let Donghyuck lead them.
Jeno nodded and threw his leg over his bike, kicking the kick start lever and sighing happily as the bike roared to life beneath him. He pushed off his kickstand and allowed it to roll forward.
“Let’s go!” he called.
He rolled to the front of the group before revving the engine and turning onto the main road leaving the beachside snack shack behind.
~
When Jeno pulled into the driveway of his house, he parked his motorcycle beside his elder brother's black and gold Harley, letting the kickstand rest against the dirt driveway and dismounted..
He made his way into the house where his older brother, Jaehyun, was sitting alone in the living room flipping through channels.
Jeno’s heart hurt. All through the ride, he thought about (y/n) and the pained look in her eyes every time someone teased her. He knew it wasn’t right to bully her, especially for something as shallow as her weight or her clothes, but when the girls Jeno dated began mocking her, Jeno joined in, and pretty soon, she was alone. It hurt that Jeno could have stopped it. He could have kept her as a friend instead of ditching her, and now, here he was, hopelessly in love with the girl he bullied and too afraid to stand up to his friends out of fear that they would dump him.
“I have a problem,” he groaned, flopping down on the couch.
Jaehyun turned the small box television off and turned his attention to Jeno. Jeno rolled his head back on the plush green sofa and sighed.
“There’s this girl I like…” he started.
Jaehyun groaned in disinterest.
“So tell her. Not like you can’t get any girl. I heard you’re one of the kings of your class,” he replied.
Jeno whined. It was true. He could virtually have anyone he wanted, yet the one person he couldn’t have was the one he desired.
“I can’t. My friends wouldn’t approve and she’d never go for me… not after everything I’ve done,” he muttered hopelessly.
“Why do you care so much what your punk friends think? Do what you want, not what they want you to do.”
Jeno sighed. It wasn’t that easy and Jaehyun should know that.
“She’d never go out with me anyway and I can never tell her!” Jeno whined, hoping his brother would understand.
He was far too ashamed to come out and say exactly why she wouldn’t. “There’s girls that don’t like you?” Jaehyun asked, clearly shocked.
Jeno nodded sullenly.
“Just one…”
That seemed to make the links click in Jaehyun’s mind and Jeno wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing.
“You don’t mean you like the poor girl you always bully, do you?”
So Jaehyun knew about that. No wonder his brother had grown distant since Jeno had started high school.
“Um… yes…” he mumbled.
Jaehyun shuffled around on the beige chair he was sitting on before one of his dirty socks was being chucked at Jeno’s head.
“Hey!” Jeno snapped.
“You don’t treat people like that! You and your friends are assholes! That poor girl won’t forgive you for what you’ve done to her!” Jaehyun yelled.
Jeno wanted to yell back, but he knew Jaehyun was right. He was an asshole.
“What do I do to get her to like me… I don’t know how to stop this mess…” he mumbled. Jaehyun groaned and grabbed the large remote, flipping the television back on.
“You make things right. Stop bullying the girl and apologize like you mean it. Even then, it may be too late,” Jaehyun answered before his attention was back into the heavy box television.
Jeno sighed. He knew his brother was right.
~
The next afternoon, Jeno pulled his motorcycle into the parking lot of the snack shack, parking alongside Jisungs rusting brown one he refused to let Jaemin or Jeno strip and repaint.
Jeno dismounted and walked into the shack. His friends were crowded around their usual table, talking loudly.
Jeno walked over to the table and slid into the booth beside Renjun.
“What’d I miss?” he asked.
Jaemin was cackling and fishing ice out of his soda glass.
“(y/n) is on our table today!” he smirked.
Jeno’s heart dropped. That meant they’d be extra cruel to her today and Jeno really couldn’t do anything to tell her or his friends how he felt. The universe must really hate him.
Jaemin got the ice out of his cola glass and held it in his palm, his faze shifting to where (y/n) was shuffling around in her red striped shirt and black pants, wearing those same yellow heels.
“What are you gonna-”
Jeno was cut off as Jaemin smirked and launched the ice cube across the table, getting enough air to fly across the room until it dived down into the low cut v-line of (y/n)’s striped shirt.
“Yes! 10 points!” Jaemin cheered loudly.
(y/n) squeaked at the sudden intrusion of ice, a sound that Jeno found oddly adorable, even if it wasn’t a good kind of squeak.
Her face flamed red and she hurried back to put her notepad down on the chef’s counter before moving back to their table.
“Can I get you guys anything else?” she asked, her voice having gone up an octave from embarrassment.
“I want a chocolate milkshake,” Renjun answered.
(y/n) jotted it down and moved to look at the rest.
“I want a burger that’s charred on one side, but not too charred. Don’t bring me burnt meat or I’ll make your fatass eat it,” Jaemin said.
Jeno sighed at his friend, shaking his head subtly.
“I want a burger with a dollop of ketchup and three pickles. Don’t you dare give me any more or less than three pickles,” Donghyuck ordered.
Jeno rolled his eyes. Donghyuck didn’t even like pickles.
She glanced at Jisung and Chenle, both who were contently sipping their cola’s and completely ignoring her existence, so, after scribbling down everyone else’s orders, she turned her eyes to Jeno.
“Coke with ten pieces of ice and a burger.”
(y/n) nodded, writing all of the information down and shuffled off to the counter again.
“Do we really have to be that mean to her? She looked like she was going to cry,” Renjun muttered.
Jaemin rolled his eyes.
Jeno nodded in agreement to Renjun. Her face was sullen and her eyes glistened with tears that hadn’t fallen. His heart sank at the thought that maybe something had happened at home or that their words had finally gotten to her. In all the time they’d been bullying her, she never once said anything much to them, and they’d never seen her cry.
“Do you think we should lay off her?” he suggested.
Donghyuck and Jaemin snorted at the same time.
“Why would we do that?” Donghyuck asked.
Jeno shook his head. His friends could be such assholes sometimes. They wouldn’t even stop for someone that seems to be almost crying, they just use it to play more games. More buttons to press.
“If you’re so worried, Jeno, go check on her,” Chenle challenged.
“Yeah, go check on her!” Jaemin cackled.
Jeno shook his head and sighed, getting out of the booth. He knew very well what they expected him to do, or at least, what they wanted him to do, but he didn’t know if he could take calling her names anymore. Not when it felt like his soul was screaming at him not to.
He didn’t have much of a choice as he made his way over to her, however. He couldn’t control what his friends wanted and what he was obligated to give.
He moved up behind her and while her back was turned, he brought his hand down hard on her butt as his friends cackled loudly from their table. Jeno’s ears burned in embarrassment and guilt. If his mother knew what he’d just done, she’d be dragging him out of the snack shack by his ear.
He didn’t really know what to expect from (y/n). What he didn’t expect however, was her body whirling around rapidly, her hand raising angrily, and the sharp stinging sensation across his cheek.
“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT! I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO YOU, AND YET ALL YOU ARE YOUR ASSHOLE BUDDIES WANNA DO IS BULLY ME! WELL PISS OFF! I DON’T NEED THIS!” she screamed.
Jeno’s eyes widened. This was new…
“YOU ARE A BUNCH OF PUNKASS BOYS WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO, BUT I SWEAR THE NEXT TIME I HEAR A COMMENT ABOUT MY WEIGHT, CLOTHES, OR HAIR, OR ANYONE TOUCHEs ME, I WILL SHOVE MY FAT FOOT UP YOUR BUTTHOLE!” she screamed angrily.
The cackling from the table had stopped as the boys gaped at their waitress in shock.
“AND YOU IDIOTS CAN GET YOUR OWN DAMN BURGERS!”
The snack shack had gone deathly quiet. Jeno stood as still as a statue, face still stinging, but not quite as painful now. The outburst from this usually quiet and reserved girl shocked him to his very core, but it also made him feel worse. Sure, the ice throwing, name calling, and excessively stupid orders had added fuel to the fire, but it was Jeno’s action that had thrown her over the edge.
“I-I’m… sorry…” he stammered out.
“DON’T SAY SORRY TO ME AFTER THE HELL YOU’VE PUT ME THROUGH!” she screamed.
Jeno’s heart pounded in his chest and his eyes gazed at her fearfully.
“I think it’s time you go home, (y/n), calm down and come back tomorrow,” the owner of the snack shack said, walking out of his office.
(y/n) nodded and let out a sniffle. Jeno didn’t know when she’d started crying. She grabbed the bag the owner handed her before running out of the shack.
“And you, young man. You and your boys get out of my shack. You’re all banned for a week. Come back in here acting like that and you’ll be banned permanently,” he said, eyes fixed angrily on Jeno.
Jeno turned to look back at his gang and sighed, waving a hand for them all to follow.
~
After the incident, Jeno hadn’t felt much like going on a ride with the rest of the gang. They were all perfectly fine, cackling and talking about the outburst, but Jeno couldn’t stomach it. The way she’d screamed. How upset she’d looked. He was done being a bully. Now he just needed to figure out how to go from bully to courting her, if that were even possible.
He parked his bike beside Jaehyun’s again, happy to see his brother was home and not at the rusty body shop he worked at.
He ran into the house, taking the front steps two at a time, and when he was inside, he made his way to the room he shared with Jaehyun.
“I need to borrow your boombox!” he yelled at the male.
Jaehyun, clearly not expecting the sudden intrusion, jumped off the small bed, stuffing the adult rated magazine he’d been “reading” under his mattress. Jeno rolled his eyes. He didn’t have time to find ways to ruin Jaehyun’s relationship with his girlfriend or rat him out to their mother.
“I. need. Your. boom. Box!” he enunciated.
Jaehyun stared at him incredulously.
“Uh… Why?” he asked.
Jeno shook his head angrily and shoved past Jaehyun to siffle through his side of the room searching for the large, heavy, cassette playing boombox his brother had bought a month ago.
“I need it to fix my (y/n) situation!” Jeno explained as he searched.
Jaehyun groaned.
“Movies aren’t real! That won’t work!”
Jeno ignored him. The guy always showed up at the window of the girl he was hoping to impress and the girl always forgave him. It’d work. It had to.
Jeno grabbed the large boombox from beneath Jaehyun’s bed, groaning at the weight. He heard Jaehyun sigh.
“Good luck then.”
Jeno didn’t need it. This would work. It had to work.
~
The ride to (y/n)’s house had proven to be a bit difficult as he struggled to hold the boombox against him. The box was large and heavy, with a small cassette player at the top that already had his chosen tape resting inside it.
The trip over was one of many stops and repositionings in an attempt not to drop the box that could very well make everything alright. He could just imagine her grinning in glee and running down to meet him, forgiving him for everything he’d ever done to hurt her.
By the time he got to her house, dusk was falling. He had maybe ten minutes before darkness engulfed the sky. Ten minutes in which he’d be tasked with making everything better.
He moved around the side of the common two story house and found (y/n)’s window easily. She appeared to be dancing to the music playing from the vinyl record player he could almost see perched by the window. It brought a smile to his lips. She looked so happy and carefree.
He could watch her all night, but he was here for a reason. He had to apologize for everything he’d ever done and confess.
He found a rock likely from her driveway by her window in the grass and picked it up. It was only one so he had to make it count.
He pressed play on the cassette player portion of the boombox and ‘It’s sad to belong’ came flowing out melodically from the speakers.
”Met you on a springtime day,”
He threw the rock hard against her window, flinching as he heard the rock bounce off. He was surprised it hadn’t broken the window.
”You were mindin’ your life and I was mindin’ mine too. The window opened and Jeno’s heart hammered in his chest.
“(y/f/n) (y/l/n)! I am so in love with you it hurts. I am so sorry for everything I’ve ever done to hurt you! All the bullying. All the teasing. I’m so sorry. You’re not fat or ugly! You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen! I just couldn’t show it! But I don’t care what my friends think! I love you! I want to be with you! I want to court you! Please forgive me!” he pleaded, not giving the girl a chance to say anything.
When he finished speaking, the song was nearing an end and his body was shaking. The girl looked almost close to tears again and Jeno grew hopeful that in any second, she’d run downstairs and jump into his arms.
“Yes it’s sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along.”
“You love me huh? Well you have a funny way of showing it,” she sneered.
The window slammed shut and the drapes were immediately dropped, leaving Jeno alone in the darkness of the evening, his hopes dashed across the grass.
He’d waited too long to apologize.

Request for Preyslavee
It was about was about an hour after the game as Jordan returned home for a break. Getting out and into the house, he took off his clothes as he walked around the house. Casually walking around as he scratched your bulge from under his crotch. "Really should've thought that of the circumstances before you made a bet against me runt. You know i never lose a game. Can't turn back now" he made his way to the living room as he crashed down onto the sofa. He soon reached inside his briefs as hed plucked around your form. Making sure to surely drag you along his balls as were pulled out.
His shaft would pulse against you as the sack began to fold over you. Its built up sweat soaking into you as the my stopped your path. It took a few tugs, but eventually the folds rolled off you as the cool warm air met your body. Followed by Jordan's nose as it puffs of air ruffled your hair. "Starting to smell like me huh? Good, makes good preperations for our deal. First thing's first.." He lifted you up slightly as he hovered some deodorant in front of you. "You've got pits to tend to. Do a decent job and I might regrow you to your normal size".
"Simple enough" you though to yourself. You made your way over to it as you attempted to grab the side. "Ah ah, i don't think so. You're not tending to them that way" you feel his fingers wrap around you as before your front made contact with the fresh scented surface. You feel your clothes wrinkle as Jordan rubbed you in place over the deodorant as he made sure your body touched every corner of it before lifting you upwards. A little dazed from all the turning, you vision would soon return just in time see the trimmed hair of the underside of his arm. Even with the fresh scent covering, the odor surround the arm pit would begin to overpower it as your form drew closer.
"I'd hold that breath of your if I were you" you hear from above. Your arms were the first to make contact with the pit as they slicked to the side. Leaving partial room as you face collided into the soft skin. The pit would soon begin to cave around you as the fuzzes surface would sandwich your form. Jordan would rotate his shoulder clockwise as the pit inside was still slightly sweaty. Even with the firm pressure inside, your body would move along with his shoulder as the rush of musk filled your nose. Your tried to hold on against the trimmed haired of the pit, but even they would move in place as they slipped through your grasp. It was about 2 minutes as you endured the firm pressure before you were let out. You gave out a sigh of relief as you took in the fresh air, but it soon was short lived as Jordan lifted the other arm and stuffed you between it. Your muffles escaping from arm as he looked at it with a smile.
A couple more minutes went by, before he finally let up. Your face drenched in musk as the your clothes were now damp. You soon looked uo at Jordan as he gave hit pits a firm sniff. "Well, you can't do pit duty for crap. Perhaps another debt is in order. Ass duty" Jordan pulled down the back of his shorts as his ass rounded themselves past the band. Holding you vertically, he firmly began to slide you between them as the heat from between them fumed as air smelled of hot gas. You could help but extend your to their sides as the your holds slid across the inner walls of his ass. As you slid deeper in between, your nose would began to poke into his ass as it slid to the center of his hole. As it brushed along its center, was only then that Jordan stopped pressing and soon sat his entire weight on you. Your head would sink between the ring as you muffled between them. Ut would vibrate the clenching hole of jardan's, but you would only receive a vibrating chuckle in response.
"I've got an itch back there that's been driving me crazy since i left the game. Your gonna tend to it while i make my protein shake" you heard a sudden popping sound from above as Jordan began making his drink. The weight applying mire ontop of you as the hole sinked deeper along your sides. The scent from inside would get stronger as your nose seeped past the rings, but your nostrils still between them as they clenched around it. The sweat from his ss would begin to soak into your clothes as the heat would get stronger.
The sound of shaking from your muffled ears as Jordan shook his protein shake. The hole reacting with the amount of shaking as it sinked deeper. It was getting a little cramped as it started morphing around your head, but the more your pulled against it the hole pull back with equal force. You soon feel the hole overlap your head as it slipped past the ring. The sweat built leaked from all around the muscular walls as you yelled for him to let you up. You'd only hear of him shaking his protein shake as he continued.
Jordan did feel the slight change in pressure as he focused on your form. Moving a finger passed his shorts, he massaged a finger across his hole as he felt for your face. But he couldn't find it, all he found was your neck as he followed along its lengths. Patting around the hole, he gave a smile as he gave out a satifying clench from his hole. "Heh, always thought you'd make a good plug, guess i was right" he rubbed along your neck as he continued shaking his protein shake. This time putting in a lot more force as your head moved along his sweet spots.
Almost 10 minutes past as you stared inside the endless abyss of his hole before the sound of shaking stopped. You soon feel a tug at you legs before you feel yourself being pulled back out. But even then, the hole wouldn't let up, as it pucker in place. It took a couple of tugs, but the last would make progress as your chin was finally visible. Followed by the rest of your. Head as it was squeezed out with a sudden squelch. You were pulled between his cheeks once more, this time your front rubbing along its length before you were pulled out.
"Not bad, bot bad at all. Guess ass duty proved useful. Now i think its time you've had a break" he smirked as he tossed you into the air. Your vision constantly turning before submerged into a goopy surface. As you reached the surface, the walls were encircled around you as Jordan's lips planted on the edge. The sound of slurping following behind it as your body rushed towards it in a wave. Your gaze would soon go dark as you disappeared behind the lips as the sound of liquid echoed around you.
Jordan, would seal his lips shut as he sloshed his tongue around you. Giving firm circle around your body before chuckling again as it rosed it over you and splashed it ontop of you. He tiled his head back as he opened his mouth back up. Gurgling the liquid inside as you rumbled and flowed into you. With a firm gulp, he you and the liquid would decend into his throat as you traveled down for few seconds.
As you landed in his stomach, the flow of the protein would descend into the cramped chamber as you yelled and pounded at the door. "Hey, you can't do this! What about our deal?! You promised to unshrink when we were done".
"Yeah about that shrimp" he said as he belched "you're just too good not to keep. Your pathetic muffles, you sorry self inside my hole. And now, all nice and compacted in my stomach. You were mine the second you wanted that bet"
"What?!"
"Don't worry, I'll let you out...right after this skrimmage match. Coach wants me back at the court" Jordan would begin to walk out the door as he focused on the sloshing going on.
"Hey! No! Let me out of here you cheat!" You pounded at the bellied wall, but only received a firm pound from the outside as you splashed back into the proteined goop inside.
"Pipe down snack, its game time" he gave out repeated pounds into his belly as he listend to the gurgle going on inside. "That's more like it, oh its gonna be a blast when we return. For now, sit with the rest of the protein.

DaveFarts - Episode 7 “The Noisy Roommate” [Episode List] Tim spends the night at Dave’s house and they have to share the latter’s full-sized bed. As they go to sleep, Dave soon makes sure that it’s gonna be a noisy night.
The episode is inspired by TheFartingWolf’s video/premise of the same name. I had a similar idea sometime ago but I figured I could just combine my story and the video for, I don’t know, a real 4D experience? With that said, I’m ready to delete this story should TheFartingWolf want me to do so.
Also keep in mind that this is not a story about the IRL person who made the video linked above, but rather two fictional characters.
The Noisy Roommate
“Thanks for having me over, bro.” I thanked Dave, while rummaging through my backpack.
This was not the first time I slept at Dave’s house of course, not even the first during our 20s, but this time it truly was a last-second solution. This is not like the shower emergency from sometime ago, though water is involved again somehow.
“No problem dude. I needed someone to help me finish this case of beer anyway.” he said, cracking one open and throwing the can at me, which I managed to catch.
“Always up for it.” and I took a long sip of that cold nectar.
“I’m sorry you almost drowned.” he joked.
“Yeah it was terrible.” I played along.
Truth is that some pipe in my house literally exploded and water flooded the entire apartment. It’s not as bad as it sounds: the leak was already fixed but I still needed a place to stay for the night. I didn’t even have time to call anyone as Dave simply showed up at my place and drove me here.
We sat on the couch to watch some bad movie as we kept chatting about some random stuff and having beer. We were both dressed casually, Dave sporting a pair of grey shorts and a black t-shirt, outfits that doubled as our pajamas, even though Dave was probably gonna sleep shirtless as he usually does.
And again, as usual, I felt some familiar vibrations going through the couch. I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
“Straight to the point, I see.” I commented.
He laughed and slightly leaned, ripping the rest of the 7-seconds rip towards me, without the couch muffling the sound now. I always appreciate how my bud is so casual about my kink and that fart, needless to say, was impressive, despite being “small” for my bro’s incredibly high standards. Also, he basically almost always farted like this even before he knew about my fetish which, again, led me to appreciate more how his attitude towards me didn’t change at all -and he knows very well the “side effects” his blasts give me.
I pitched a tent in my own shorts but I managed to hide it by adjusting my position, crossing my legs. Whether Dave noticed that or not was irrelevant, as he kept ripping a couple of more loud toots.
We resumed watching the TV for like one hour until we both decided it was time to turn into corpses for the rest of the night, so we went upstairs, the beers making us a bit dizzy but nothing serious.
I was familiar with Dave’s house so I headed directly to the guest room, my bud right behind me.
I stepped into the dark room, turned the light on, and I saw it, staring at me from the bed.
Brave Dave was the first one to run away, pulling me outside of the guest room as I hastily shut the door. Team work!
“Okay, Tim. Were you cursed or something?” he asked.
On the bed we both just saw a huge spider, the biggest we’ve ever seen in real life. While we’re not properly arachnophobic, it’s not like *we like* sleeping with spiders hanging around.
We were both manly adult men and so we were both very afraid of the eight-legged monster sneaking out to murder us in our sleep, or simply existing, so the two of us rushed to the kitchen and came back with tons of duct tape to block up every nook and cranny of the guest room door.
“Alright.” I said. “I’ll just use the couch downstairs.”
“Nah bro.” Dave commented. “My bed’s full-sized. You can join me.” and he walked towards his room.
I needed some time to process what he just said. Me and Dave shared a bed many times but that was always before I came out to him. I wonder how-
“Look, I hate to interrupt your inner monologue about self-pity and all” he said, kind of annoyed. “But can we just for once skip your awkward bullshit and head to bed? Thanks.” and then disappeared into his room.
I chuckled a bit as I realized how “formulaic” I was being lately when he more than once proved to me that he had no issues with me, so I followed him.
The bedroom was dimly lit and he was already lying on his side of the bed, shirtless, showing off some mild pecs and an overall nice-looking figure.
“I gotta warn you: I’m a screamer in bed.” I jokingly said, lying down on my side of the bed, just by the window.
“Oh yesss, scream harder, daddy.” he played along, laughing.
We were both lying down, mindlessly scrolling stuff on our smartphones and reading articles. That only lasted a couple of minutes.
“Well, time for your goodnight kiss” Dave announced, quickly wrapping his legs around me and planting his butt in grey shorts in my face.
I was still lying down as the fart erupted, almost making me deaf for how loud it was, so up close and personal. I couldn’t see the ceiling very well as Dave’s hairy legs mostly obstructed the view. The blast didn’t even smell that much, which made me assume it was on command rather than fully natural; not that it didn’t stink at all of course.
The beer-powered fart lasted about 10 seconds. He wiggled his ass on my face a bit and then let me go/breathe. “I thought you were a screamer.” he teased and went back on his side of the bed, which almost looked queen-sized.
I didn’t say anything and I simply turned my back to him, trying to be annoyed and failing miserably, feeling a faint scent in my nostrils every time I breathed.
“Looks like there’s a leak in my house as well.” he said, right before ripping another thunderous blast, this time far from me. I tried to ignore that, but I still pitched a tent anyway. I didn’t even turn around: I’m not going to let the teaser win!
After a couple of minutes, Dave turned the lights off and the room fell into darkness, the only source of light being a digital alarm clock inches from my face. 1:34 AM, not as late as I thought, but my body didn’t care and I fell asleep almost immediately.
2:44 AM I hear a loud noise and I woke up, only opening my eyes, the alarm clock greeting my sight in a room of pure darkness. Took me a couple of moments to realize that, of course, it was Dave farting, this time in his sleep. I turned around, noticing Dave’s grey pants as my eyes adjusted to the dark.
3:01 AM I was almost asleep as another fart snapped me back to reality, this time even louder. Again I instinctively turned around and stared at my bud’s butt as the blast erupted. Those felt very airy and pretty much odourless I think. I thought whether I should wake him up but I didn’t want him to think that I was listening to his sleep-farting, which is literally what I was doing sadly.
At this point I was playing the jump-rope between being asleep and awake, every time fully waking up because of Dave farting like crazy. After many farts, the blast at 3:59 AM felt particularly powerful and “meaty”, which made me look again at my friend’s butt, somehow noticing his pants moving because of the air being blasted out. A powerful rip that lasted around 11 seconds I believe. Was I dreaming? Similar farts then followed.
4:59 AM This one almost scared me as when I thought it was over it instead became louder and louder, as if it was a train passing nearby. It had a great sound and flow, one of the best I ever heard from my bro.
5:32 AM Another peak in farting activity. Falling asleep at this point was impossible. Each moment of silence was just the quiet before the storm and I completely gave up on the idea of resting that night.
6:21 AM This one was so loud and powerful that even Dave woke up for a moment. He simply sighed in relief though, but when even the farter wakes up, you know the fart was incredible.
6:36 AM A similar blast greeted the first lights of the dawn.
Even more powerful rips were heard at 7:16 AM and 7:33 AM. At around 8:01 AM, Dave finally woke up by himself, one of his loudest farts acting as natural alarm clock.
That was a long night and as I heard Dave going downstairs to do his morning routine, I figured it was finally time to catch up some sleep, but ironically enough the silence made it more difficult as I was now so used to his blasts that they felt like white noise, fetish or not.
That teasing bastard won and wasn’t even done.
After merely 30 minutes, I heard him jump on the bed. I was facing the window, pretending to be asleep, but I knew he was standing on the bed, towering over me.
“Rise and shine, roommate!”
He squatted over my head, still sporting those grey shorts, and ripped a huge, loud and proud natural morning fart all over my face. I’m kind of glad I was already awake, ‘cause I would have been scared to death by that gas thunder. Where was all of this gas coming from? How was he not done?
I screamed, annoyed, and pushed him on his side of the bed, my hands touching his still-farting ass, the stench being this time unbearable. I heard him laugh like an idiot as he lied next to me, keeping one of his legs up as he finished ripping that loud, long fart.
“So you are a screamer!” he joked.
“And you fart in your sleep.” I replied.
“As if you’d mind me doing that.”
Whether he was aware or not of what happened during the night, Dave was as usual so comfortable around me that he just didn’t care and it was all just a big gassy prank for him. So I just lied there, awake, chatting with my bud about my house looking like Venice, so tired and so exhausted that I didn’t even bother about the spider staring back at us from the ceiling.

no body, no crime. | marauders

a/n: so i accidentally listen to no body, no crime all afternoon and felt inspired to write this. it was supposed to be shorter but oh well. let me know if i should write a part two - kennedy
***
I need your help. Come quick.
I scrawled the message onto three different spare pieces of parchment and hurried into the kitchen, opening the nearest window. The rush of fresh air could’ve been clarity for me but what was done was done. There was no changing the past, but changing the future was still on my plate.
Waving my arm in the night sky, I signalled my owl, Stefan, calling him over to the window. He hooted excitedly, eager to be put to use in the cold winter season. As he landed on my arm, a dusting of snow ruffled from his feather, onto my blood splattered torso, bouncing onto the kitchen counter. Looking down at my appearance, the severity of the situation settled in. There was a dead body in my living room and I had no idea what to do.
“Stefan, I need you to send these letters to the marauders. Go to James and Lily’s house first; it’s the closest, but whatever you do, don’t let Lily see it. Then, go to Remus’ house. Sirius is staying with him as well. They can both see the letter. Lastly, go to Peter’s house and make sure he comes. Keep pecking him on his hand if he chickens out. Can you do that for me?”
Stefan hooted loudly, which I instantly shushed, taking note of the time of day. I didn’t want to wake any of the neighbours. Once Stefan understood the instructions, I let him fly away. A comfortable silence was left in my house as I paced through the kitchen, not even thinking about what to do next.
“I need a drink.” I hummed softly for myself, swinging open the cupboard and taking out a bottle of red wine. After pouring a glass, I waited, sipping to calm my nerves.
It wasn’t long before I heard the distinguished snap of someone apparating, followed by a small squeal. James had arrived first, right into the crime scene. He called out my name, which I responded to, and he trudged into the kitchen, unable to make a coherent sentence.
What he saw was one of his best friends sitting on the ground, blood staining their shirt, a glass of wine firm in their grips, eyes glassy and dazed over.
“Are you going to explain this or…?” James trailed off, realising that he wasn’t going to get an answer quite yet.
“Wait until the others get here.” I responded monotonously, finishing the glass of wine with a single gulp. Mindlessly, I reached upwards to the kitchen counter, patting around for the bottle, before it was snatched away by none other than James Potter himself.
“Darling, if we’re going to be covering up a murder tonight, I think it would be best for you to be as sober as possible.” He cheeked, a cocky smirk on his face. It was soon wiped away by the sound of someone else crashing into the living room, followed by a high pitch yelp; a similar reaction to James’.
“[Y/N]? Did you kill someone?” It was the distinct voice of Peter Pettigrew who followed the quiet murmurings of James and I into the kitchen. When he walked through the door, he seemed to be nursing his right hand, which looked like it had been pecked over and over by an owl, most likely Stefan.
“Take a guess.” I muttered, unusually grumping as I desperately wanted to refill my glass of wine and drown out the sorrows and voices in my head. Oh no, I didn’t feel guilty for killing the man in the living room. I felt guilty for not even having any sort of conscience.
Peter joined us, sitting down on the other side of me. His eyes lit up as he noticed the bottle of wine in James’ hand, muttering a quick “thank you” before taking a swig of the burning liquid.
“The other two should be here by now.” I deadpanned. James and Peter hummed in agreement but it wasn’t long before the rest of them arrived. A knock at the front door signified that Remus and Sirius had arrived, as Remus always felt it was much more polite to apparate outside of someone’s home, instead of directly inside it.
Begrudgingly, I went to stand up, before toppling over into Peter’s lap. I hadn’t realised that the alcohol had already affected me so much, my fist clenching to my temples as I moaned in frustration. It was common knowledge that I was a lightweight. I should’ve thought of that before I let my gluttony become me.
“How about I get the door?” James suggested, standing up instead. “Besides, what if it’s not the other two? What if it’s the police? Can’t have someone covered in blood answer the door.”
As James walked off to the front door, I stayed curled up in Peter’s lap, his hand slowly stroking my shaking arm in an attempt to sooth me. New flash: it wasn’t working.
Two more screeches emerged from the living room which meant that Remus and Sirius had finally showed up. Still shaking, I finally rose from my seating position, with the help of Peter, and made my way into the living room.
It was the first time I had seen the mess I had made with a clear head, or a head that wasn’t plagued with wrath and hatred. Blood was all up the walls, coating too many surfaces to count. The body was lying face down on the carpet, fresh blood still leaking out of his corpse. A putrid smell filled the room, coming from the gas build up in the man’s body. Gagging at the sight, I held my ground, fighting the need to run away and throw up in my bathroom.
“Okay, Remus and Sirius are here now. Can you please tell us what happened?” James begged, his eyes filled with fear. I couldn’t blame him. Finding out one of his best friends had murdered someone must have been horrifying, but it was no time to ponder about the drastic change in our relationship. I needed to explain.
“Do you remember Este, the hufflepuff in our year? She was in our herbology class year seven. She was also in our potions class up until year six.” I started, looking at my friend’s around me, who were all listening intently. “Well, we’ve been friends since year one I guess. We were friends for many years. Even after we left Hogwarts, I still caught up with her. Every Tuesday night, we’d have dinner together and chat, you know, gossip about what’s going on. Anyway, one night, she was talking about her husband-”
“Husband?” Sirius interjected, completely confused. “Este never dated anyone during the entirety of Hogwarts. We’ve only been out for less than a year. How did she find someone to date and marry in that timeframe?”
“Well, they met the day after graduation, at a ministry party. Este was starting in the Magical Accidents and Catastrophes department and met Jason Bulstrode. They must’ve hit it off because a month later they were married. I went to their wedding in August; it was quite pleasant.”
“Okay, continue with the story.” Remus hurried me along, getting quite fidgety with the body behind him. He was anxiously looking behind him, as if the body was going to start moving.
“Oh right, anyway, one night, she was talking about Jason. She was getting nervous because she thought he was cheating on her. She kept talking about how Jason had been spending money on jewellery that wasn’t hers and how he has been coming home from work later and later, smelling like cheap perfume and merlot. I convinced her to confront him about it. A week later, we were supposed to meet for our weekly dinner but she never showed up. I went down to this bar that Jason always went to to see if he knew anything. He was drunk, going on about how she went missing. I didn’t believe it for one second.”
I paused, taking a deep breath. Peter had started drinking out of the wine bottle once more. Remus was fiddling nervously with his digits, as Sirius tried to calm him down, while listening in to every word I was saying.
“Another week goes by and a woman moves into Este and Jason’s house. You’ll never guess who. It was Lucinda Greengrass. I thought it was strange to see Jason move on so quickly because Este could’ve still shown up, but then it hit me. Este was never going to show up. Jason had murdered her. So, I did the only logical thing I could think of. I confronted him once again at the bar. He seemed a lot more sober though this time. When I brought up the fact that he killed his wife, he lunged at me. I thought I could apparate away to protect myself but he had already grabbed onto me. He was trying to kill me first, so technically it was self defence. I grabbed a framed picture from my mantle and smashed it on the ground. I used one of the broken pieces of glass and used it to protect myself. Then, I wrote a letter to you four and got you to come over. I think we’ve caught up.”
I was out of breath by the time I had finished talking, expecting to be bombarded with hundreds of questions. Except, they all seemed quite silent, their own plans formulating over in their heads. I stayed quiet, letting them think, biting my own nails at what was going on. Remus was the one who spoke up first.
“Did anyone see you leave the bar with Jason?” Remus asked, hurrying out of the kitchen into the living room. He seemed to be looking for something, but what?
“No.” I put simply, watching as Sirius’ face lit up, understanding what Remus was getting at. James and Peter made eye contact and with that, it seemed like everyone was on the same page except me.
“Then his last known location was the bar. He could’ve gone missing at the bar.” James muttered, following Remus. Except, James headed for the laundry, hurriedly looking for cleaning supplies.
“Missing?” I called, frantically trying to follow them, but they all seemed to be in a mind of their own, understanding what had to be done. James emerged from the laundry with a mop and a bucket of bleach. Peter came from the direction of the kitchen holding a massive black garbage back, gloves decorating his hands.
“No one knows you killed him, [Y/N], and we intend on keeping it that way. He’ll stay a missing man.” Peter finished off the thought, carefully trodding over to Jason’s bloody corpse on the ground. “Besides, Este is also classified as missing. It could be played off that they ran off together or something.”
I was rooted to the spot as I watched what was going on around me. Peter had put Jason’s body in a weird contortion to fit in the garbage bag and tied a knot. Quickly, he grabbed another to double line the bag, making sure there were no leakages. Once it was secure, Peter placed the bag outside to air out, making sure the smell wouldn’t linger much longer in the house.
Sirius was quick to clean the linen. He picked up the rug from the ground and hurried it off into the laundry so it could clean itself the muggle way. The next task was trying to remember the cleaning spells from year three and being able to execute them at such a high quality that it can get rid of even the strongest of stains, like blood.
“Can you help me with this, love?” Sirius cooed, motioning for me to help him with the stains on the couches. Muttering the incantation, we watched the stain fade ever so slightly. Cursing under his breath, Sirius tried again, whispering the spell once more. The blood splotch faded once more but only slightly. “At this rate, we’ll be here for hours.”
At this moment, Remus came back into the room, holding up what he was looking for before. My old boat keys. Being a half blood with a muggle father meant that he had taught me a few things about the muggle world. He had also taught me how to drive a boat, helping me get my boating license at only fifteen years old. It was perplexing though; why would Remus care about my boat? It wasn’t going to help us now.
“Where do you dock your boat?” Remus said calmly, spinning the keys around in his fingers effortlessly. By now, he had caught the attention of the rest of the marauders. Sirius poked his head out from behind the couch, James looked up from where he was mopping the floors, and Peter walked back into the living room from checking on the bag in the backyard.
“Uh, all the way back in my hometown, miles away from here. Old Muster Lake.” I stuttered out. With that, Remus opened up more of my drawers, searching for a map. When he had found it, he motioned for me to follow him into the dining room where he splayed the map out on the table.
“Show me.” Remus stated firmly, brushing his fingers over the dirty map. Hesitantly, I pointed my fingers about a hundred miles north of here. Remus bit his lip, thinking about what to do next. His breathing was shallow and I could feel his nervousness from here. All I hoped was that his plan would work out.
“Can you still drive the boat?” Remus said after a while, looking me in the eyes. I nodded slowly and Remus looked content, grabbing the map from the table and motioned for Peter to come to him. “We’re going to the lake to dump the body. You’re coming.”
“What? No.” Peter spluttered, his heart racing quickening. “I get terrible motion sickness. Oi! James!” Peter called James over who was focused on his task at hand, scrubbing the floor with the mop. “I’ll take over your job and you can go to the lake with these two.”
“Alright.” James huffed, passing the mop over to Peter. When they were ready, Remus, James and I walked outside into the night, walking over to the garbage bag where Jason’s body was already rotting. Even in the darkness of the night, I could tell that the bag hadn’t leaked, which was a good sign. With a nod of Remus and James’ head, I knew they were ready, so I held onto the bag while they held onto my arms and I apparated away into the night.
As we arrived at Old Muster Lake, a wave of post apparition nausea washed over me, nearly toppling me over if it hadn’t been for James holding me up. When I got myself sorted, I looked out onto the lake where I hadn’t been for years.
The whole lake looked deserted at this time of year. A faint mist was rising off of the lake, reflecting in the moonlight of the crescent moon. Big trees breathed in the like breeze, swaying softly in the wind. A hooting owl and the rustle of tree branches were the only noises that could be heard between the three of them.
Remus was the first to break the silence, stepping forward, his feet crunching onto the leafy ground. The dead leaves cracked underneath his shoes, giving away his position. He paused, listening out for anyone, sniffing the air slightly, before continuing to walk up to the docks. Thinking it was safe, James and I followed after him until we reached the end of the dock. The planks of the dock were old and unkempt, seeming like they might break underneath our feet. Carefully, we walked across the together, before the dock finished beneath us. I could see my boat a bit away from the dock, but it was too far away. There was no way of reaching the boat, until I had an idea.
“Remus, give me my key.”
“What?”
“I can swim over to the boat and bring it around. Give me my keys.” I repeated, holding my hand out to him. Obliging, he placed the keys on my palm and watched as I looped my digits around the key ring tight so it wouldn’t escape me.
I hadn’t swam in years. As I dived off the dock and into the freezing water, I remembered the rush of it. Resurfacing, I gasped for air, shivering in the winter water. My clothes hung uncomfortably by my side, sticking to my cold figure. My teeth chattered unconsciously, reminding me to get a move on before I froze in the temperature. We didn’t want two dead bodies in the lake now, did we?
Free styling in the lake, I stroked my arms by my side, swimming towards my boat in the ocean. It was about a seventy meter swim which was an okay length, but the warmth of the water made it feel like an eternity. When I finally reached the boat, I climbed up the ladder at the back and clambered into the boat. A chilly gush of wind hit my skin, sending goosebumps up my spine. I was too cold but I persisted, fumbling with the key in my hand and struggling to put it in the key hole. When it finally went in, I turned the engine on, letting a roar come out of the exhaust. Luckily, there was still half a tank of fuel in the tank from the summers ago when my family had come to the lake. Back then, it brought such happy memories. Now, not at all.
I brought the boat around to the dock, letting James and Remus pile in, pulling the heavy bag over the side of the ship. When we were ready, I sped off into the middle of the lake, where it was deepest, the perfect spot to dump a body.
“The next open season will be summer. By the time it comes, the body should’ve decomposed a lot more.” I spluttered out, my cold body shivering, making the words come out of my mouth in an unsteady stream.
“Here. Take this. You look freezing.” Remus said quietly, placing his jacket over my shoulders, which I gratefully accepted. Immediately, I started feeling much warmer, continuing on with our mission.
Once we reached the middle of the lake, there weren’t a lot of words said between the three of us. Instantly, James started untying the knot on the garbage bag, opening it up to the world. It reeked worse than before but there was nothing we could do about it now. With all three of our strengths combined, we managed to hold onto the bag and tip the corpse into the lake with a splash. Wordlessly, we headed back to the dock, as I dropped the two boys back off.
Again, I turned the engine off, tying the boat back up at the buoy. Holding onto the keys, I dived back into the chilling lake, though the cold didn’t affect as much as last time. Swimming back to the dock, I relished in everything we had done, remembering the body that was now decomposing in the lake. I felt dirty as I swam through the contaminated water.
Reaching the dock, I pulled myself out via the ladder and laid down on the planks, catching my breath. That’s when everything caught up to me. Tears were ebbing in the corners of my eyes, spilling onto my reddening cheeks. My lip quivered as quiet sobs spilled past my lips. Closing my eyes, I let the darkness consume me for a few moments, until I felt two strong arms hoisting me back up into a standing position. Stroking my arms, they both tried to soothe me from my breakdown. Minutes ticked by as I let my tears run down my cheeks. I was openly sobbing now. All I needed was a sleep.
“You wanna go now?” James muttered to which I nodded. Holding onto the deflated bag, James apparated us away, back into my unrecognisable house.
Peter and Sirius had done a fantastic job. There wasn’t a speck of blood anywhere in the living room; everything looked spotless. The rug that was drenched with blood had gone through the washing machine and was now back in its usual spot. The couches looked brand new, meaning that Sirius must have figured out how to do the spell properly. An aroma of fresh flowers flooded the room, overpowering the smell of rotting flesh. It was perfect.
“How did it go?” Sirius asked, appearing from the kitchen with Peter.
“It’s been taken care of.” I mustered up the courage to say. “Now, if anyone asks, and I doubt they will, but just in case, we had a dinner party tonight.”
The four of them nodded in agreement, heading for the doorway to leave, but I stopped them.
“And you stayed the night. Everyone had had a little too much to drink. That means no one would have slipped off to kill anyone, okay?”
With that, they all followed me up the staircase into the hallway of spare rooms for them to sleep in. I thought I was alone as I stayed out in the hallway, turning the lights out. I cried again.
I cried for a while.
Until I felt a reassuring hand on my back, calming me down. “Hey, hey, hey, don’t worry, love. No body, no crime, right?”

The world had been destroyed. Zombies. Yes, you heard me right. Zombies took over humanities. They said it was a conspiracy, others said it was planned, someone said it’s a bio weapon but you? You said this was fate and this was meant to be. In the middle of the chaos, your last proof as being a human started to disappear. And in times where you wished for safety, you did finally come to find the man who’s been embracing you in your dreams. Your online sugar daddy.
You’ve lost count of the days. To be honest day and night don’t feel different as you have to stay alert all the time. There’s no time to rest, no time to slack, and no time to worry about what you left behind. It all started as a gas leak in a big biohazardous factory. The company keeps it secret, slowly affecting the workers there who are trying to fix the leak. It’s not a green smoke like what you would see in a Disney villain movie, it’s a nicely colored pink gas that smells sweet but is deadly enough to churn your organs and make you turn into what the society calls “zombie”
The outbreak spreads faster than the plague, with the infected “biting” the human and changin them into zombies. The conspiracy theories maker believe this was planned as how all zombie films look exactly like this. The scientists believed this were an unprepared bioweapon aimed to be released a century from the latest pandemic in 2020. You? You believe this is just fate and that there’s no meaning to hustle about what’s right. You just have three things in your head. Run, Adapt, Survive.
You’re glad you still have your phone, charger, knife, and a radio to contact any bases that have survivors in them. You’ve survived the days by running, hiding, and stealing big cars to help you run over the town. This morning, you got a signal from your radio saying that there’s some group of survivors on a certain latitude and longitude. You quickly take notes of it, and tell them over that you’re going to join them. As you pick your stuffs and put your compass on, you hear your radio static voice.
“How can we ensure you’re human?” one of them with a deep voice asks over the radio and you roll your eyes “Would a zombie be smart enough to find radio signals and communicate?”
You hear a loud laugh on the other end and you note that there’s more than one person there.
“How many of you are there?” you ask suddenly afraid if it’s a too big group and you have to make hard decisions with bigger parties.
There’s a shuffle and a voice comes in “There’s only 6 of us. I am the leader, Kris and you?”
You start your engine, “I’m (y/n). I’ll arrive before the sun sets hopefully.”
“Good luck and stay safe. We hope to see you in one complete piece. Over.”
--
“Who is it Kris?” The young man with a sweet dimple asks the leader after hearing the short conversation on the radio.
“Oh, from the voice I’m pretty sure she’s a survivor like us.” Kris peeks over the blinds of their hideout and notices how empty the road is.
“Can you reach Suho? I wonder if they survive too.” the same guy asks again.
Kris pats his shoulder “They’ll be okay Lay, don’t worry. I’m sure Suho can take care of the guys. Now, what about we try to find food for tonight?”
Lay sighs “I don’t know. With Luhan being weak today from using too much of his powers, I have to be here to help him heal faster.”
Kris sighs, with the 12 of them divided it was harder to fight the zombies. They are gifted with supernatural powers, but at the moment 6 of them are in another place and its their goal to reunite.
Kris left his radio and went to shower. They call themselves the EXO-M, with 6 members of their own powers.
---
You stop over an abandoned supermarket, after making sure there’s no one around, you quickly hoard all the canned foods and waters. Picked up fires and some warm blanket for you to sleep tonight.
Your journey to their basecamp was not smooth, with you having to walk over some hoard of zombies. With your eyes shut close you hit the gas and just move forward without thinking.
“Hey, hey can you hear me?” your radio suddenly turns on and your ears perk up when you hear the sound.
“Yes?”
There was a sudden pause.
Lay gulps and shakes his head when he hears your voice.
“Sorry, but can you bring us some food supplies?”
You sigh “I already did. You’re lucky but did you know how crazy it would be if I have to go back?”
He groans “You’re a handful aren’t you?”
You were too focused on the road, not filtering your word “I AM. You can say I am a sugar baby at all time, so yeah I am a handful.” you yell that as you strive through some muddy place and you notice there’s a small strong bunker in the middle of the field.
Lay stays silent as he controls his beating heart. Why does something rings a bell in his memory.
He grits his teeth and shake his head “Just come here quick. We have to help our brothers.”
You groan “I am in front of a bunker pretty sure this is where you guys are. How come you can find a place without any infected people?” you ask as you see a man opens the door for you to come in.
“Chen, Tao, Xiumin and Kris go take her foods and keep it safe.”
You yell as the dimpled man grabs your hand into the bunker. You shake it off “Hey, that’s my food supplies!”
“First off my name is Lay.”
“Okay Lay,” you cut him off “Stop robbing my supplies.”
Lay’s eyes turn dark “Hey, you’re the guest here. Don’t you think it’s also dangerous for us to just accept you here?! If it’s not because of Tao’s clumsy hand pressing the radio to give you a signal, Kris won’t bring anyone in.”
You feel offended, “If you don’t want me here you can say that directly. You’re not my master or husband or whatever, i can go if you want that so bad, but let me take all my stuffs with me.”
As Lay was about to spit back words to you, a strong grip separates both of you and you gasp surpsied.
“(y/n) right? Nice to see you come in one piece. I am Kris, sorry if Lay said anything that hurts you. He’s been alert for the last two days trying to heal our exhausted brother. I apologize on his behalf.” Kris, bows at you in a respectable angle and your anger fumes down. He sure is the leader and you’re glad his words didn’t sting.
“Thank you Kris, I like your welcome better. I came here with supplies, I want to share it with all of you but Lay here just robbed my car.” you sneer at the tall man and he just rolls his eyes.
“Lay, would you mind taking (y/n) to the bathroom? She can use some shower and you can check if she needs any medical healing.”
“We’ll take care of dinner. Don’t worry, you’ve had a long day. Good job in arriving here.” Kris sends you off and walks away. You sure like how this Kris manners are
You want to protest for being left with Lay but Lay’s firm grip dragging you into the bathroom left you with no option than to follow him.
--
“I’m sorry, your voice just reminds me of someone and I was distracted.” he suddenly speak up from the shower stall next to you.
You turn your neck to see him, the shower walls are not that tall for Lay. You can see his head from the side, but it covers your height nicely.
You gulp and continue washing your hair, facing the other way as you always did when you wash your hair. Your back facing the shower so that your eyes are free from the water.
“It’s okay, i am sorry I was just stressed and tired too. I swear I am not a handful.” you blush when you remember the first introduction between both of you.
Lay has a special memory working in his head and he chuckles “You’ll say I am wild but you reminded me of my sugar baby.”
You blushed, feeling a tingle on your naked body “Oh, in what way?”
He turns the shower off and looks at you “I never see my sugar baby, We both don’t know how each other look. We’re just talking and chatting and having fun remaining anonymous.”
Now it’s your turn to gulp and turn the shower off, you grab the towel Lay prepared earlier and wrap yourself in it “Now that’s interesting. Mind to tell me why you suddenly remember her?”
Lay chuckles and looks to the ceiling “We did voice calls sometimes, and when you said “I am a handful” you really sound like her.”
You bashfully stare at your feet. There's a bothersome fact in your head that also says Lay sounds like someone you know.
“Alright, I guess we need to go join the others?” you reappear in front of him with your fresh set of clothes you just took from the supermarket.
Lay nods “Before that, a quick check. We can’t have you bleeding or injured around here.” He twists and turns your body checking and pressing here and there to see if you have any wound or broken bones.
“You’re quiet strong for you to be alone for days. Just wounds but no big injuries! I can heal your internal injuries so the infected at least can’t smell you that strongly.” Lay explains and you just nod.
“How will you do that?” you squeak and he smiles “You’ll discover tonight.” he winks and your heart stops a beat when memories of a voice comes back to your head.
He couldn't be…
Dinner was better than what you have had for the past days. Somehow the EXO-M have their own food supplies here but they are also running out of foods.
"Before we eat, let's thank you our new sister here (y/n)," the man with doe eyes smile at you nicely and make all the rest of the men stare at you.
You shake your head "No problem, I should he the one to thank you for accepting me inside. That's a big trust you have."
The men chuckles and Kris hushes them down "We sure knows because only special people like us can survive this long." He begins to take the foods on the table and the rest of them also joins.
You were sitting next to Xiumin and he helps you to get your foods on your plate.
"We eat from the same pan, so don't worry. We don't plan to kill you or hurt you." He grins "I am the one cooking so please enjoy it."
You chuckle, if this was Lay's cooking maybe you will be careful remembering how your first impression wasn't good. Though something still bothers your mind when you see him take a glance or two at you.
You learn about their abilities, a supernatural power that helps them survive until today. Just like you, the 6 men here have their powers and they have a separated brothers who also own powers. Their goal is to reunite and survive together but as far as you understand their story, they still cannot reach EXO-K and no news know what happened to them.
Kris was able to fly, making him the one to do errands like finding foods and shelters. Xiumin is their frost guardian. Luhan is gifted with telekinesis that's why when there was an attack, he had to work hard blasting the zombies away. You learned that Chen has a beautiful and powerful voice and he is gifted with making thunder. Tao can mess with time but he hasn't master time travel yet and finally lay. Lay has a healing power.
"So the 6 of you are unstoppable." You conclude as you drop your chopstick when you're done with food.
They nod "We're quite powerful now but you see we're getting weaker. And we need to meet the rest of the brothers to become more powerful."
"So what's your power?" Tao, the youngest, blurts out the question and you laugh
"I don't have a power. what are you talking about?"
Tao whines about how you don't need to hide it from them but you really don't know what they're talking about
"I am just a regular human." You snap and that brings an awkward silence to the room. You see kris looking cross at Tao and you can't stand the stares so you excuse yourself to hide in the only place you've been. The bathroom.
You turn the sink on and wash your hands, trying to cool your head down but you cannot focus when you see the small tattoo on your wrist. A tattoo of your family surname. You run your fingers over it. Feeling your tears collect again when you remember how they all died on the first week of the apocalypse. You lost everyone and everything you love. You're forced to run and you're so young to survive because your father reminded you that whatever happen go run for your life and leave your loved ones behind.
You wash your face, trying to hide the tears that fall on your cheeks.
when you hear another footstep coming into the room, you turn the water off. You saw him coming and you expected he'll greet you with a "Stop wasting the water silly" but all you heard was a sweet deep voice you've always heard on your lonely nights. On nights where you feel so lonely and dark thoughts loom around.
"May I little one?" A voice you remember.
You turn your head to face him and shake your head "Are you really who I am thinking?"
Your heart screams "Yes daddy," but that doesn't leave your mouth.
He stops and stares at his feet "Are you someone I am thinking of?"
Both of you don't answer the questions. Instead, Lay sits down on one of the benches there and you lean on the washing table.
"You really remind me of my online sugar baby. I hope she's doing fine. I hope she survived. I cared a lot about her."
You let Lay continue talking.
"She said she likes to shower backway, her face away from the shower head. You did that earlier and I was surprised. But hey coincidence could happen right."
You blush laughing a little "You sound like you really care for her."
He nods "She's my favorite."
You play with your hair "Tell me more. I guess listening to stories like this is better than just getting asked about how my journey here looks like."
Yes you really don't need a reminder on how scary getting chased after a mob of zombies is.
"I don't think I'll ever hear from her again." He suddenly leans back and closes his eyes
"Oh how I wish i ever see her."
You fish your pocket and grab your phone out
"Do you want to borrow my phone and maybe look up her account?" You pass him your phone and he looks interested
"We didn't get the chance to take our phones when we had to evacuate. Silly us right." He brushes his hair back and you caught a glimpse of his abs.
"Will this ring a bell to you?" You clear your throat and calm your heartbeat.
"Sugar sweets here ready for you daddy" you close your eyes ready to feel embarrassed if things didn't go as planned. You can feel your ego crumbling but instead of a laugh or a wtf, you got a reply "Daddy's here sweetie, tell me what you want"
Both of you avoid each other's eyes for a minute. Ears flushing red and stomach filled with butterflies. Both of you suddenly laugh and chuckle
"So, you're my sugar daddy?" You finally ask after realizing how weird this should be but its not that weird.
"And you are my sugar baby!" He smiles "I am glad you are safe and here with me."
You walk to his side and sit next to him "i am sweetcheeks14"
He pinches your cheek "And i am the man behind sinfulwhispers"
The two of you laugh and you exhale a breath to relax
"So. What is it your super power?" You chuckle suddenly feeling stupid for asking that
Lay looks at you seriously "You think we were kidding? I really have a healing power."
Before you can scoff and reply with another power to joke around, he already pulls you to face him and as he concentrates you see his hand sticking out just few centimeters away from the stomach you actually hurt yesterday. Despite your attempt to laugh, you actually feel your stomach ache gone and a warm feeling runs in your body.
"There should be good as new. You're welcome." He clicks his tongue and you still freeze there unable to say anything.
"I- i don't know what to say." You touch your stomach again making sure it is really gone the pain.
He just sits down calmly beside you. Giving you time and space to think what the heck just happened.
“I know it’s confusing, but try to think about this.” he brushes your hair away to see your face. His warm big hand creeps up to reach your chin and holds it there “You’re a wonderful sweetheart and you’ve survived this long by yourself.” he searches your eyes to see if you’re scared of him or not, and when he sees your eyes twinkle, Lay erases the gap between you two.
“You have a super power sweetheart, you just have to embrace it.” he presses his lips on to yours and slowly bites yours.
You give in to his touch, finally tasting the kiss from your sugar daddy and finally just finally you’re not tensed from having to sleep in full alert, not stressed over where to take shelter.
Lay hugs you deep and that’s the time when you realize having someone by your side on hard times like this is the best.
Your tear falls from your eyes and when Lay wants to pull away and wipe it for you, you keep pressing his head to your lips and with one gentle move you flick your tears away only for both of you to jump back in surprise.
“What was that?” he asks suddenly holding your hand that just flick the small tears away and definitely leaves a hole on the toilet door.
You stare at your hands in horror, no way you have a super power.
Lay and you freeze in time, did you have that much power? Is that why you keep on slaying and killin the dead?
“Baby, I have a good feeling.” he picks you up before you can say anything and drags you out into a special room where you see a lot of training equipments.
“Would you mind?” he is already holding a boxing tape and you raise your palm to let him wrap your hands with the tape before he gives you an apple to your hand.
“Okay, now let’s see. We both will throw the apple and see whose will stick to the wall there.” he points to a side and you ask if it’s going to be okay.
Lay chuckles “It’s bulletproof, so let’s see.”
Both of you stand from the same line and throw the apples to the wall, sure enough yours leave a crack mark on the wall but not Lay’s
Suddenly the room echoes with claps and you turn your head to realize that the others are already here.
“We saw you running here with Lay, so we watched the camera.” Kris explained
You blushed, what if both of you were going to fuck, will they still be watching?
“Now, the final check to see if you’re still human is this.” Luhan points to a chair and you look at them confused.
“We’ll take your blood and do a quick lab test, our antibodies will be different if you’re immune to the “zombies” here.” Luhan explained as he already poked a needle into your vein and take a tube to test your blood.
“Go sleep and don’t think or worry about anything. We promise we won’t do anything to you. Take your well needed rest.” Xiumin explains and soon after the brothers discuss, Lay decided to take you into his room.
No one has to know what happens in that four walled space. You’re finally with your virtual sugar daddy and there’s a guarantee that the room is sound proof so both of you didn’t hold anything back.
“I’m glad you found me.” Lay whispers after both of you are done chasing your highs and cuddled nicely under the bed covers.
You yawn “I didn’t expect to finally be in your arms, but I will trade anything in this world to be here. I feel safe. Thank you Lay.”
Lay kisses the top of your head “Love you sweetheart, let’s see the result tomorrow and if you’re totally immune and like us, you’ll stay with us.”
You wonder what if you are not immune, will they throw you out? But before you can ask Lay already hugs you closer and hums a lullaby to your ear.
You settled on not trying to know what will happen if you’re not like them, and choose to sleep trying to think that everything is okay.
--
After all, you’re glad you find them and that they don’t disown you. Because having one more of the undead in their 12 immortal group is a good thing.

"Lock it, lock it!" Scott yelled at Stiles as both of them continued to use their strength to keep the doors shut.
"Do I look like I have a key?" The hazel-eyed boy replied with the same hastiness.
Scott glanced back at me. My fingers were inside my mouth, biting the skin around my nails. "Grab something!" He instructed me.
"What?!"
"Anything!"
"No!" Stiles shouted. "Stay there and don't move!" He pleaded with his eyes. I needed an explanation of what was going on. I was going to explode. What was that thing outside?
Stiles got up from the floor, glancing out of the little window that was on the door. He seemed to see something outside that could help us.
Scott seemed to know his friend pretty well. "Stiles, no, don't." He didn't listen, opening the door. I went to clutch his shirt to bring him back or at least go with him, but Scott grasped my arm, pushing me beside him. "We can't let him go out! Are you going to let him go outside alone?!" My eyes tried to search for something in his eyes.
We both looked out of the window, breathing hard. I glanced at Stiles's jeep when I saw something coming out from behind. "Scott, Scott, that thing is back!"
"Run! Stiles! Stiles!" We started pounding on the door, the other boy looked back at us. He was disoriented, but then he saw the beast coming towards him.
We hastily opened the doors, letting him come inside and be safe. "Oh my god. Are you okay? Did it hurt you?" I grabbed his chin, moving my eyes all over his face to make sure that there wasn't any type of scratch on his face. He swallowed nervously and smiled softly, whispering that he was okay.
We started studying the outside. "Where would it go?" I asked, my voice cracking a little.
Stiles took my hand in his and started walking backward, Scott doing the same. And then, we started running towards one of the classrooms, going inside and hoping to be secure. They both pushed me out of the way, grabbing a desk. "Stop, stop. The door's not gonna keep it out." I said, pointing at the door. Whatever that beast was, it wasn't going to be kept away by a fucking desk.
"It's your boss." He faced Scott. "Deaton, the alpha? Your boss."
"No!"
"Yes, murdering psycho werewolf." My mind was a disaster after hearing Stiles's words. "Oh come on. He disappears, and that thing shows up ten seconds later to toss Derek 20 feet through the air? That's not convenient timing?"
"It's not him." Scott bickered back. My heart was beating so fast, and my ears were hurting so bad that I couldn't hold up with their conversation. Derek is dead? Who exactly was Derek? Why were all of them talking about wolves, and what the fuck was that thing that wanted to kill us?
"Okay." I interrupted. "I'm out." I grinned, walking to the door. “I’m out of here.”
Stiles ran to me, grabbing my arms. "Are you crazy?" His eyes examined my face. "Do you want to go out with that thing there? Do you have a death wish or something?"
"No." I put my finger against his chest. "It seems like YOU GUYS have a death wish. I've been one day in Beacon fucking Hills!" Both of them looked at me, Scott begging me to lower my voice.
"I got into an accident as soon as I came here. I have to live with a family that doesn't even want me, which is completely normal because I'm not part of it. I got detention because we were trying to help Scott control his anger issues. And now, I'm out at night inside school!" I said all that without pausing to breathe, Stiles rubbed his fingers against my forearms. "There's a psycho murderer out there that likes to dress up as a beast or something. So, if this is a fucking joke or your way of 'welcoming' me to Beacon Hills. I will fucking kill both of you." I was panting hard. Scott didn't seem to know what to do while Stiles nodded his head, speaking delicately to me.
"Okay, this is crazy, and you don't understand anything but sadly, now you are part of this." He gulped. "We have involved you. Well, mostly I did because I didn't want you to feel lonely." He glanced at Scott and then back at me. "It wasn't my intention to get you into this at all."
"We can't explain it to you right now, okay?" Scott decided to address. This was the first time that he was talking softly to me, without glaring. "But I promise we will explain everything to you when we get out of here."
After contemplating it for a couple of seconds, I decided to speak again. "Just one thing." I bit my lip and both of them waited for my next words. "That thing...That thing out there. Is it real?" They nodded. "We aren't going to get out of here."
"We will." Scott tried to look like he was sure of himself. But I could taste the distress. "I..I will protect you." He smiled softly.
"We will," Stiles murmured. His hands were going down my arms, and I was already missing his grip because it made me feel protected.
We wandered to the windows of the classroom in search of Stiles's jeep, and when we saw it, Scott was the first one to notice that it was dented. When Stiles started getting nervous about it, Scott pulled both of us to the floor, the battery of his jeep had been thrown inside, breaking the window and making it difficult for us to go back to it and get our asses out of there.
We decided to go back to the corridor in search of a classroom with fewer windows. The locker room.
"Call your dad." Scott stopped both of us from walking farther into the room.
"And tell him what?"
"I don't know, anything. Gas leak, a fire, whatever. If that thing sees the parking lot filled with cop cars, it'll take off."
"What if it doesn't?" I asked, and Stiles continued, adding to what I had said. "What if it goes completely Terminator and kills every cop in sight, including my dad?"
"They have guns."
"Yeah, and Derek had to be shot with wolfsbane - laced bullet to even slow him down, you remember that?"
I sighed. "So what do we do?" My voice sounded harsher than what I intended it to sound like. "Wait," I said. "Didn't that Derek guy bring his car? Maybe we could use it, get the fuck out of here."
"This is why we had to bring her!" He put his arms up. "That's a GREAT idea. We get his car and leave."
"And him." Scott rolled his eyes at both of us.
"Fine. Whatever." We both whispered and chuckled.
We walked back towards the door when Scott grabbed Stiles's wrist. He heard something, and I did too. "I think we need to hide," I muttered. "There's something out there."
Stiles looked at me perplexed and intrigued, and then he looked back at Scott. My half-sibling nodded at his friend, his eyes examined me. "Yeah, there's something. Hide."
Stiles put the flashlight inside his pants, and then he started looking around. He grabbed my hand, making especially loud noises, and getting both of us inside a locker. We heard another big noise, which meant that Scott had hidden inside a locker too.
My back was against Stiles's chest, his warm breath was hitting the back of my neck. His right arm was slightly against the door of the locker, and his other arm was around my waist, keeping me as far as possible from the door. Which meant that I was as close as possible to him.
The door opened, making me gasp. Stiles's arm left my waist, his hand softly covering my mouth. I heard him pant so I covered his mouth with my hand.
"Son of a bitch!" We heard someone's voice and decided to come out of the locker.
"Quiet!" Stiles touched the janitor from the back.
"Quiet my ass, what the hell are you trying to do, kill me? Get out."
"Will you just listen for half a second, okay?" Stiles tried to reason. But I mean, how would you react if you were the janitor and found some kids inside the locker room at night?
"Not okay. Get the hell out of here right now." He grabbed both of the boys while I walked next to them. He was pushing us towards the door, trying to kick us out.
"God, just one second to explain," Stiles begged while the janitor jolted us into the corridor.
"Just shut up and go." Before he could close the door, he was grabbed by something. The three of us jumped, we heard the beast, and then we saw the janitor's body against the door, blood smearing everywhere.
Scott tried to open the door and help him. Stiles and I looked at each other, grabbing him to make him run with us. It was too late.
That thing had blocked the doors so we wouldn't be able to get out, and now it was following us. Stiles was able to confine that thing and the three of us smiled at each other like stupid. We were relieved. We were safe. But not for much longer because it escaped by the roof, which meant us, running again for our lives.
Scott's phone started ringing and he seemed to be desperate and angry. "Go to the lobby. Now!" He hung up, looking at us. "Allison is here."
"What?" I asked. "Your girlfriend? Here as in inside the school?!" Scott nodded, running towards the lobby, Stiles and I following. "Why did you come? What are you doing here?" We met a girl in the lobby, and I concluded that it was Allison Argent, which meant she was Scott's girlfriend. She was beautiful, perfect hair cascading over her shoulders. She seemed delicate but also deadly.
"Because you asked me to." Her eyes stopped on me, frowning. I offered her a little smile.
"I asked you to?"
Allison's eyes snapped back at Scott, showing him her phone. Scott swallowed, staring cautiously at her. "Why do I get the feeling you didn't send this message?"
"Because I didn't."
"Did you drive here?" Stiles intervened in their conversation. He was anxious, all of us were.
"Jackson did."
That was the guy from the store. The guy that smelled like he was dying.
"Jackson's here too?"
"And Lydia, what's going on? Who sent this text?" Her phone rang, and she couldn't wait to answer the call. "Where are you?"
From behind Allison, Jackson and Lydia appeared. "Finally. Can we go now?" As soon as Lydia asked that, we started hearing noises above us.
"Run!" Scott yelled while intertwining his fingers with Allison's. We all started running until I noticed Stiles was paralyzed looking at the beast that had fallen from the roof.
"Stiles!" I ran to him, grabbed his hand, and made his move. All of us ran inside a dark classroom, I was still grasping Stiles' hand, while the others were blocking the door with chairs and desk in hopes of that beast not being able to come inside and kill us all.
"Guys." Stiles tried to make them listen to him, but they were too busy blocking the door. He called them again, and he was ignored one more time. "Can we just wait a second? You guys, listen to me. Can we wait a second? Guys? Stiles talking."
Stiles ran his hand through his buzz cut, he seemed stressed. "Guys what the fuck! Can you stop moving and listen to Stiles for a motherfucking second?" I sounded louder than I expected too. Everyone stopped in their tracks, turning around and looking at us.
"Okay, nice work. Really beautiful job, everyone. Now, what should we do about the 20-foot wall of windows?" He gestured to the left side of the room and I cursed in a low tone. We were fucked. We were going to die.
"C-can somebody please explain to me what's going on, b-because I'm freaking out here. And I would like to know why. Scott?" Allison was terrified, but so were we. She looked at Scott and it seemed like they were talking with their eyes.
"You are not the only one." I interrupted. Scott peered at me, his gaze strong, but it didn't have any type of hate towards me. "But I don't think it's the best time now to give explanations to each other." "Maybe you don't want or need an explanation." Allison pointed to her chest. "But I do need one, now."
"Oh yeah." I went closer to her. "Why don't we eat some snacks while we go through stories of how a fucking big beast is trying to kill us." Stiles came closer to me and grabbed my elbow, trying to put some space between my step-brother's girlfriend and me. "Oh, maybe the beast will like to join us? Maybe it will sit down with us and tell us how he became a beast!"
Stiles snickered, but the glare he received from Scott made him go back to his serious face. "Somebody killed the janitor."
"What?"
"Yeah, the janitor's dead." The hazel-eyed boy walked towards Lydia the others.
"What's he talking about? Is this a joke?" Allison looked at Scott, but he was far from us. When she saw that he wasn't going to answer her, she looked at me and I nodded.
"What, who killed him?"
Lydia, Jackson, and Allison started to get crazy, talking at the same time and asking who was the killer, who was that beast. Scott didn't have a better idea than to say that Derek Hale was the killer, which made Stiles look at me and sight. Seems like I was the intelligent one in the family.
"And the guy in the video store - it's been Derek the whole time. He's in here with us. And if we don't get out now - He's going to kill us too." No, everything was a lie and even though Derek Hale seemed to be a hot asshole, he didn't deserve to be incriminated for something he didn't do. And, that thing, whatever it was in the video store, that was NOT a human being.
Jackson looked at me, his jaw tightening and I knew that he was thinking the same. We didn't talk about what we saw at the video store, but we both knew that wasn't a human. "Call the cops." He demanded.
"No."
"Wh-what do you mean 'No?'"
"I mean no. You wanna hear it in Spanish? ‘No’." It was my time to snicker. "Look, Derek killed three people, okay? We don't know what he's armed with."
"Your dad is armed with an entire sheriff's department. Call him."
"I'm calling." She was already phoning.
"No, Lydia, would you just hold on a sec-" Stiles tried to grab Lydia to stop her, he didn't want to put his dad in danger. Jackson was going to push Stiles so he wouldn't touch her. It felt like I saw his movements slowly like everything was in slow motion. My hands moved on themselves and I grabbed Jackson's arm, twisting it.
"Hey." Scott came closer and he tried to loosen my grip on Jackson's arm, but I couldn't let him go. "Y/N." He whispered. "Let him go, please." I did what he told me and turned around to look out of the window while Lydia anxiously explained that the police hung up on her. But I was too busy looking at my reflection in one of the windows, my eyes were flashing. A deep ice blue, that was not my eye color.
Tumblr media
"Molotov cocktail." Lydia interrupted the silence that was overcome by fear and uneasiness. We all looked at her, and all of them seemed surprised to hear her pronounce something complicated. I was sure she was more than what she let others see. "What? I read it somewhere."
"We don't have a key for that either." Stiles sighed, pointing to the closet where all the things were being kept.
Jackson glanced at me and then shook his head, hitting the glass of the closet with his elbow, successfully breaking it. "Seems like we don't need a key," I muttered.
"Jackson, hand me the sulfuric acid."
Lydia started making some kind of 'poison', and I gaped at her, my mouth hanging as I couldn't even understand the terms she was using. Science was never one of my qualities.
"No. No, this is insane, you can't do this. You cannot go out there." Allison studied Scott. It was a crazy idea, to be honest, and I still didn't understand what was going on. But I felt reassured knowing that Stiles believed in him, which made me trust him too.
"We can't just sit here waiting for Stiles's dad to check his messages." Their whispers were the only thing that sounded in the dark, cold room.
"You could die. Don't you get that? He's killed three people."
"And we're next. Somebody has to do something."
"Scott, just stop. Do you remember - do you remember when you told me you knew whether or lying? That I had a tell. Well, so do you. You're a horrible liar. And you've been lying all night. Just - just please - please don't go. Please don't leave us. Please." I swallowed as I observed how Allison's hand trembled, hoping for the person he loved to stay with her and not put his own life in danger. But the few days I have been here, I noticed that Scott was never one to quit. At least not without fighting.
I chose to go closer to Allison, grabbing her shaky hands. "Hey," I whispered. "I'm as lost as you." I let out a little smile. "Scott seems to know what he is doing, okay? I know you are worried, but I promise you we won't get out of here without him."
"Funny." She chuckled while wiping away some tears. "Our first conversation is about your brother."
"He is not my brother." I clenched my jaw.
Jackson pulled me away from Allison, grasping her hands that were still shaking. "It's okay. It's okay, it's gonna be okay."
I peered at Lydia. She seemed to be hurt by Jackson's action. He was acting strange towards her, and he had spent the entire night reassuring Allison while his girlfriend was right there. "Jackson, you handed me the sulfuric acid, right? It has to be sulfuric acid. It won't ignite if it's not."
"I gave you exactly what you asked for tonight."
Lydia muttered something under her breath while looking at the ground. Her eyes seemed lost. I felt someone pat my back, looking to my side I wasn't surprised to see Stiles there, offering me a little grin. "Uhm, it's not like I care," I whispered. "But he will be safe, right?"
His hazel eyes shone. "Yeah, your brother will be safe." I punched him lightly on the chest. "Ouch, you have a technique when punching, woman."
I was going to answer back, but I was interrupted by a horrible pain on the back of my neck. My eyes got blurry, and I could see Jackson kneeling on the floor, he was screaming so loud. It was hurting my ears, they felt so sensitive. I ended up kneeling on the floor too, trying to control my breathing. Stiles asked me what was wrong, but words wouldn't come out. It hurts. Stiles, it hurts so much.
Allison and Lydia helped Jackson while Stiles just rubbed my back softly. "Can you hear me, Y/N?" I nodded, I couldn't articulate and my face was getting damp. I was sweating so much, and I couldn't breathe.
"Like, seriously, I'm okay." Jackson got away from both girls. I was still trying to make the pain go away. Stiles had helped me stand, and now my entire body was resting against his. My chin leaned on his shoulder, my eyes were yelling at me to let them close. I was exhausted.
"That didn't sound okay at all."
"What's on the back of your neck?" Stiles tried to touch his neck, but Jackson hit his hand away. He didn't have a scar before. Why did he have one now?
"I said I'm fine."
"It's been there for days. He won't tell me what happened." Lydia pouted, but I could see the pain in her eyes. I felt a hand on my neck. Stiles was moving my hair aside, and I hissed when he touched the back of my neck, although it felt so good against my cold skin. His hands were warm.
"Has it been there since the video store thing?" He whispered so the others wouldn't hear. I nodded my head.
"It...that thing was not h-human." I eventually articulated. Stiles nodded. "No, that thing wasn't human." He said something else about me, but it was interrupted by police sirens which made us all sigh in relief, except me.
"What about the janitor?" Scott asked the sheriff. We were finally out of that school, and I felt much better. However, Stiles seemed nervous, glimpsing at me all the time, checking that I was there and that I hadn't gone anywhere.
"We're still looking."
"Did you check under the bleachers? Under them?"
"Yeah, Scott, we looked. We pulled them out just like you asked, there's nothing."
"I'm not making this up."
"I know, I believe you, I do." We stopped walking. He was looking at the three of us.
"No, you don't. You have this look like you feel bad for me. Like you wanna believe me, but I know you don't."
"Listen - We're gonna search this whole school. We're gonna find him. Okay? I promise." The sheriff was called by his workmates. "Stay. Both of you." Stiles threw his hands in the air as if he was completely innocent. He pointed at me. "Young lady, come with me for a moment. Stiles said that the wound in your neck re-opened." I looked at Stiles and Scott as they both nodded.
I followed Stiles' dad. "My wound didn't reopen," I answered puzzled but still followed him.
He glanced at me, smiling. "I know." He looked at them for a second, and then he glanced back at me. "Like women, men also need to talk about their feelings. I think they both need to talk, you know. Best friend to best friend." I nodded, beaming. This man was nice. "So how are your first days in Beacon Hills?"
I rolled my eyes, grunting. "Crazy."
He laughed loudly. "If you continue being friends with Stiles and Scott, it is going to get even crazier."
Later, Stiles came closer to me. I was laughing at some stories Sheriff Stilisnki was sharing with me. Stories about baby Stiles and baby Scott. "Are you okay?" I asked when I noticed that he seemed to be a little down. He just nodded. I searched for Scott with my eyes and found him far from us, talking to Allison. It didn't seem to go well.
I noticed eyes on me and looked back at Stiles, but he was engaged in a conversation with his dad. I continued looking around until my eyes met Jackson's ones.
“You can hear me, right?" He smirked.
Did his voice just sound inside my head?
"Yes. You are hearing me."
What was going on?

Y/N L/N AND THE HALFBLOODS
Percy Jackson X Reader
-Y/N L/N met Percy Jackson and everything was now ruined.
CHAPTER 15: Spiders Aren't Water Proof
Tumblr media
The next afternoon, June 14, seven days before the solstice, our train rolled into Denver. We hadn't eaten since the night before in the dining car, somewhere in Kansas. We hadn't taken a shower since Half-Blood Hill, and I was sure that was obvious. "Let's try to contact Chiron," Annabeth said. "I want to tell him about your talk with the river spirit." "We can't use phones, right?" "I'm not talking about phones." We wandered through downtown for about half an hour, though I wasn't sure what Annabeth was looking for. The air was dry and hot, which felt weird after the humidity of St. Louis. Everywhere we turned, the Rocky Mountains seemed to be staring at me, like a tidal wave about to crash into the city. Finally we found an empty do-it-yourself car wash. We veered toward the stall farthest from the street, keeping our eyes open for patrol cars. We were four adolescents hanging out at a car wash without a car; any cop worth his doughnuts would figure we were up to no good. "What exactly are we doing?" Percy asked, as Grover took out the spray gun. "It's seventy-five cents," he grumbled. "I've only got two quarters left. Annabeth?" "Don't look at me," she said. "The dining car wiped me out." I fished out my last bit of change and passed Grover a quarter, which left me two nickels and one drachma from Medusa's place. "Excellent," Grover said. "We could do it with a spray bottle, of course, but the connection isn't as good, and my arm gets tired of pumping." "What are you talking about?" He fed in the quarters and set the knob to FINE MIST. "I-M'ing." "Instant messaging?" "Iris-messaging," Annabeth corrected. "The rainbow goddess Iris carries messages for the gods. If you know how to ask, and she's not too busy, she'll do the same for half-bloods." "You summon the goddess with a spray gun?" Grover pointed the nozzle in the air and water hissed out in a thick white mist. "Unless you know an easier way to make a rainbow."
Sure enough, late afternoon light filtered through the vapor and broke into colors. Annabeth held her palm out to me. "Drachma, please." I handed it over. She raised the coin over her head. "O goddess, accept our offering." She threw the drachma into the rainbow. It disappeared in a golden shimmer. "Half-Blood Hill," Annabeth requested. For a moment, nothing happened. Then I was looking through the mist at strawberry fields, and the Long Island Sound in the distance. We seemed to be on the porch of the Big House. Standing with his back to us at the railing was a sandy-haired guy in shorts and an orange tank top. He was holding a bronze sword and seemed to be staring intently at something down in the meadow. "Luke!" I called. He turned, eyes wide. I could swear he was standing three feet in front of me through a screen of mist, except I could only see the part of him that appeared in the rainbow. "Y/N!" His scarred face broke into a grin. "Is that Annabeth and Percy, too? Thank the gods! Are you guys okay?" "We're... uh... fine," Annabeth stammered. She was madly straightening her dirty T-shirt, trying to comb the loose hair out of her face. "We thought—Chiron—I mean—" "He's down at the cabins." Luke's smile faded. "We're having some issues with the campers. Listen, is everything cool with you? Is Grover all right?" "I'm right here," Grover called. He held the nozzle out to one side and stepped into Luke's line of vision. "What kind of issues?" Just then a big Lincoln Continental pulled into the car wash with its stereo turned to maximum hip-hop. As the car slid into the next stall, the bass from the subwoofers vibrated so much, it shook the pavement. "Chiron had to—what's that noise?" Luke yelled. "I'll take care of it.'" Annabeth yelled back, looking very relieved to have an excuse to get out of sight. "Grover, come on! "What?" Grover said. "But—" "Give Percy the nozzle and come on!" she ordered. Grover muttered something about girls being harder to understand than the Oracle at Delphi, then he handed me the spray gun and followed Annabeth. Percy readjusted the hose so we could keep the rainbow going and still see Luke. "Chiron had to break up a fight," Luke shouted to me over the music. "Things are pretty tense here, guys. Word leaked out about the Zeus—Poseidon standoff. We're still not sure how—probably the same scumbag who summoned the hellhound. Now the campers are starting to take sides. It's shaping up like the Trojan War all over again. Aphrodite, Ares, and Apollo are backing Poseidon, more or less. Athena is backing Zeus." In the next stall, I heard Annabeth and some guy arguing with each other, then the music's volume decreased drastically. "So what's your status?" Luke asked us. "Chiron will be sorry he missed you." We told him pretty much everything, including Percy's dreams. It felt so good to see him, to feel like I was back at camp even for a few minutes, that I didn't realize how long I had talked until the beeper went off on the spray machine, and I realized I only had one more minute before the water shut off. "I wish I could be there," Luke told me. "We can't help much from here, I'm afraid, but listen... it had to be Hades who took the master bolt. He was there at Olympus at the winter solstice. I was chaperoning a field trip and we saw him." "But Chiron said the gods can't take each other's magic items directly." "That's true," Luke said, looking troubled. "Still... Hades has the helm of darkness. How could anybody else sneak into the throne room and steal the master bolt? You'd have to be invisible." We were both silent, until Luke seemed to realize what he'd said. "Oh, hey," he protested. "I didn't mean Annabeth. She and I have known each other forever. She would never... I mean, she's like a little sister to me." I wondered if Annabeth would like that description. In the stall next to us, the music stopped completely. A man screamed in terror, car doors slammed, and the Lincoln peeled out of the car wash. "You'd better go see what that was," Luke said. "Listen, has the knife come in handy?" "Very..." I smiled. "The knife is really perfect." "And Percy, are you wearing the flying shoes? I'll feel better if I know they've done you some good." "Oh... uh, yeah!" Percy tried not to sound like a guilty liar. "Yeah, they've come in handy." "Really?" He grinned. "They fit and everything?" The water shut off. The mist started to evaporate. "Well, take care of yourself out there in Denver," Luke called, his voice getting fainter. "And tell Grover it'll be better this time! Nobody will get turned into a pine tree if he just—" But the mist was gone, and Luke's image faded to nothing. We were alone in a wet, empty car wash stall. Annabeth and Grover came around the corner, laughing, but stopped when they saw our face. Annabeth's smile faded. "What happened, Percy? What did Luke say?" "Not much," Percy lied. "Come on, let's find some dinner." A few minutes later, we were sitting at a booth in a gleaming chrome diner. All around us, families were eating burgers and drinking malts and sodas. Finally the waitress came over. She raised her eyebrow skeptically. "Well?" I said, "We, um, want to order dinner." "You kids have money to pay for it?" Grover's lower lip quivered. I was afraid he would start bleating, or worse, start eating the linoleum. Annabeth looked ready to pass out from hunger. I was trying to think up a sob story for the waitress when a rumble shook the whole building; a motorcycle the size of a baby elephant had pulled up to the curb. All conversation in the diner stopped. The motorcycle's headlight glared red. Its gas tank had flames painted on it, and a shotgun holster riveted to either side, complete with shotguns. The seat was leather—but leather that looked like... well, Caucasian human skin. The guy on the bike would've made pro wrestlers run for Mama. He was dressed in a red muscle shirt and black jeans and a black leather duster, with a hunting knife strapped to his thigh. He wore red wraparound shades, and he had the cruelest, most brutal face I'd ever seen— handsome, I guess, but wicked—with an oily black crew cut and cheeks that were scarred from many, many fights. The weird thing was, I felt like I'd seen his face somewhere before. As he walked into the diner, a hot, dry wind blew through the place. All the people rose, as if they were hypnotized, but the biker waved his hand dismissively and they all sat down again. Everybody went back to their conversations. The waitress blinked, as if somebody had just pressed the rewind button on her brain. She asked us again, "You kids have money to pay for it?" The biker said, "It's on me." He slid into our booth, which was way too small for him, and crowded Annabeth against the window. He looked up at the waitress, who was gaping at him, and said, "Are you still here?" He pointed at her, and she stiffened. She turned as if she'd been spun around, then marched back toward the kitchen. The biker looked at me. I couldn't see his eyes behind the red shades. Who did this guy think he was? He gave me a wicked grin. "So you're the unclaimed kid, huh? No wonder they're arguing over who your parent is." I squinted at him, "The hell does my parents have to do with this?" "Well, which ever stuck up your parent is, the big guys upstairs are angry for interfering with your life." He said and placed his dirty boots on the table. "Your parent raised you with your mortal idiots, that's why no one can smell you." I could tell Annabeth wanted to say something but she probably was processing what this guy said. "Don't call my parents idiot. And I only have two parents, it's M/N and D/N L/N." I glared. I was confused as to why an Olympian would raise me and it'd hide my scent. Shouldn't it make worse? "Sure thing." He then turned to Percy who was beside me. "And old seaweed's kid." "What's it to you?" Percy spat. Annabeth's eyes flashed him a warning. "Percy, this is—" The biker raised his hand. "S'okay," he said. "I don't mind a little attitude. Long as you remember who's the boss. You know who I am, little cousin?" Then it struck me why this guy looked familiar. He had the same vicious sneer as some of the kids at Camp Half-Blood, the ones from cabin five. "You're Clarisse's dad," Percy said. "Ares, god of war." Ares grinned and took off his shades. Where his eyes should've been, there was only fire, empty sockets glowing with miniature nuclear explosions. "That's right, punk. I heard you broke Clarisse's spear." "She was asking for it." "Probably. That's cool. I don't fight my kids' fights, you know? What I'm here for—I heard you were in town. I got a little proposition for you." The waitress came back with heaping trays of food—cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings, and chocolate shakes. Ares handed her a few gold drachmas. She looked nervously at the coins. "But, these aren't..." Ares pulled out his huge knife and started cleaning his fingernails. "Problem, sweetheart?" The waitress swallowed, then left with the gold. "You can't do that," I told Ares. "You can't just threaten people with a knife." Ares laughed. "Are you kidding? I love this country. Best place since Sparta. Don't you carry a weapon, punk? You should. Dangerous world out there. Which brings me to my proposition." He turned to Percy, "I need you to do me a favor." "What favor could I do for a god?" "Something a god doesn't have time to do himself. It's nothing much. I left my shield at an abandoned water park here in town. I was going on a little... date with my girlfriend. We were interrupted. I left my shield behind. I want you to fetch it for me." "Why don't you go back and get it yourself?" The fire in his eye sockets glowed a little hotter. "Why don't I turn you into a prairie dog and run you over with my Harley? Because I don't feel like it. A god is giving you an opportunity to prove yourself, Percy Jackson. Will you prove yourself a coward?" He leaned forward. "Or maybe you only fight when there's a river to dive into, so your daddy can protect you." I wanted to punch this guy, but I knew he was waiting for that. He'd love it if I attacked. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. But by the gods I want to smack him. Maybe some other time. "We're not interested," I said. "We've already got a quest." Ares's fiery eyes made me see things I didn't want to see—blood and smoke and corpses on the battlefield. "I know all about your quest, punk. When that item was first stolen, Zeus sent his best out looking for it: Apollo, Athena, Artemis, and me, naturally. If I couldn't sniff out a weapon that powerful..." He licked his lips, as if the very thought of the master bolt made him hungry. "Well... if I couldn't find it, you got no hope. Nevertheless, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. Your dad and I go way back. After all, I'm the one who told him my suspicions about old Corpse Breath." "You told him Hades stole the bolt?" "Sure. Framing somebody to start a war. Oldest trick in the book. I recognized it immediately. In a way, you got me to thank for your little quest." "Thanks," Percy grumbled. "Hey, I'm a generous guy. Just do my little job, and I'll help you on your way. I'll arrange a ride west for you and your friends." "We're doing fine on our own." "Yeah, right. No money. No wheels. No clue what you're up against. Help me out, and maybe I'll tell you something you need to know. Something about your mom and Y/N's parents." "Our parents?" He grinned. "That got your attention. The water park is a mile west on Delancy. You can't miss it. Look for the Tunnel of Love ride." "What interrupted your date?" I asked. "Something scare you off?" Ares bared his teeth, but I'd seen his threatening look before on Clarisse. There was something false about it, almost like he was nervous. "You're lucky you met me, punk, and not one of the other Olympians. They're not as forgiving of rudeness as I am. I'll meet you back here when you're done. Don't disappoint me." After that I must have fainted, or fallen into a trance, because when I opened my eyes again, Ares was gone. I might've thought the conversation had been a dream, but Annabeth and Grover's expressions told me otherwise. "Not good," Grover said. "Ares sought you out, Percy. This is not good." I stared out the window. The motorcycle had disappeared. Did Ares really know something about our parents, or was he just playing with me? Now that he was gone, all the anger had drained out of me. I realized Ares must love to mess with people's emotions. That was his power—cranking up the passions so badly, they clouded your ability to think. He does not lie. He knows about your parents. "It's probably some kind of trick, Y/N," Percy said. "Forget Ares. Let's just go." "We can't," Annabeth said. "Look, I hate Ares as much as anybody, but you don't ignore the gods unless you want serious bad fortune. He wasn't kidding about turning you into a rodent." "Why does he need us?" "Maybe it's a problem that requires brains," Annabeth said. "Ares has strength. That's all he has. Even strength has to bow to wisdom sometimes." "But this water park... he acted almost scared. What would make a war god run away like that?" Annabeth and Grover glanced nervously at each other. Annabeth said, "I'm afraid we'll have to find out." The sun was sinking behind the mountains by the time we found the water park. Judging from the sign, it once had been called WATERLAND, but now some of the letters were smashed out, so it read WAT R A D. The main gate was padlocked and topped with barbed wire. Inside, huge dry waterslides and tubes and pipes curled everywhere, leading to empty pools. Old tickets and advertisements fluttered around the asphalt. With night coming on, the place looked sad and creepy. "If Ares brings his girlfriend here for a date," I said, staring up at the barbed wire, "I'd hate to see what she looks like." "Y/N," Annabeth warned. "Be more respectful." "Why? I thought you hated Ares." "He's still a god. And his girlfriend is very temperamental." "You don't want to insult her looks," Grover added. "Who is she? Echidna?" "No, Aphrodite," Grover said, a little dreamily. "Goddess of love." "I thought she was married to somebody," Percy said. "Hephaestus." "What's your point?" he asked. I suddenly felt the need to change the subject. "So how do we get in?" "Maia!" Grover's shoes sprouted wings. He flew over the fence, did an unintended somersault in midair, then stumbled to a landing on the opposite side. He dusted off his jeans, as if he'd planned the whole thing. "You guys coming?" Annabeth, Percy and I had to climb the old-fashioned way, holding down the barbed wire for each other as we crawled over the top. The shadows grew long as we walked through the park, checking out the attractions. There was Ankle Biter Island, Head Over Wedgie, and Dude, Where's My Swimsuit? No monsters came to get us. Nothing made the slightest noise. We found a souvenir shop that had been left open. Merchandise still lined the shelves: snow globes, pencils, postcards, and racks of— "Clothes," Annabeth said. "Fresh clothes." "Oh my gods yes." "Yeah," Percy said. "But you can't just—" "Watch us." She snatched an entire row of stuff of the racks and offered me a hand which I graciously took, together we disappeared into the changing room. "I need a shower." I groaned, while I changed. "We all do." She pointed out. A few minutes later we came out in Waterland flower-print shorts, a big red Waterland T-shirt, and commemorative Waterland surf shoes. A Waterland backpack was slung over our shoulders, obviously stuffed with more goodies. "What the heck." Grover shrugged. Soon, all three of us were decked out like walking advertisements for the defunct theme park. We continued searching for the Tunnel of Love. I got the feeling that the whole park was holding its breath. "So Ares and Aphrodite," Percy said, to keep my mind off the growing dark, "they have a thing going?" "That's old gossip, Percy," Annabeth told us. "Three-thousand-year-old gossip." "What about Aphrodite's husband?" "Well, you know," she said. "Hephaestus. The blacksmith. He was crippled when he was a baby, thrown off Mount Olympus by Zeus. So he isn't exactly handsome. Clever with his hands, and all, but Aphrodite isn't into brains and talent, you know?" "She likes bikers." "Whatever." "Hephaestus knows?" "Oh sure," Annabeth said. "He caught them together once. I mean, literally caught them, in a golden net, and invited all the gods to come and laugh at them. Hephaestus is always trying to embarrass them. That's why they meet in out-of-the-way places, like..." She stopped, looking straight ahead. "Like that." In front of us was an empty pool that would've been awesome for skateboarding. It was at least fifty yards across and shaped like a bowl. Around the rim, a dozen bronze statues of Cupid stood guard with wings spread and bows ready to fire. On the opposite side from us, a tunnel opened up, probably where the water flowed into when the pool was full. The sign above it read, THRILL RIDE O' LOVE: THIS IS NOT YOUR PARENTS' TUNNEL OF LOVE! Grover crept toward the edge. "Guys, look." Marooned at the bottom of the pool was a pink-and-white two-seater boat with a canopy over the top and little hearts painted all over it. In the left seat, glinting in the fading light, was Ares's shield, a polished circle of bronze. "This is too easy," I said. "So we just walk down there and get it?" Annabeth ran her fingers along the base of the nearest Cupid statue. "There's a Greek letter carved here," she said. "Eta. I wonder..." "Grover," Percy said, "you smell any monsters?" He sniffed the wind. "Nothing." "Nothing—like, in-the-Arch-and-you-didn't-smell-Echidna nothing, or really nothing?" Grover looked hurt. "I told you, that was underground." "Hey Percy, that wasn't nice." I glared. "Okay, I'm sorry." Percy took a deep breath. "I'm going down there." Pulling out my knife, "There isn't any monsters." "I'll go with Percy." Grover didn't sound too enthusiastic, but I got the feeling he was trying to make up for what had happened in St. Louis. "No," Percy told him. "I want you to stay up top with the flying shoes. You're the Red Baron, a flying ace, remember? I'll be counting on you for backup, in case something goes wrong." Grover puffed up his chest a little. "Sure. But what could go wrong?" "I don't know. Just a feeling. Y/N, will go with me—" "Yeah, I can go with." "Didn't take you as a romantic Seaweed Brain." Annabeth smirked. "What?" Percy's face was burning now, too. It made me laugh at how adorable he was. He turned to me and blushed even more. "Fine," he told us. "I'll do it myself." "Percy, I didn't say i don't want to come with!" I giggled. He started down the side of the pool, I followed, I hear him muttering about how this wasn't how its supposed go. Then I realized how we would've been surrounded by water. "Arthur Curry, if I drown I will beg Hades to have you." He paused and turned to take my hand and we continued walking. We reached the boat. The shield was propped on one seat, and next to it was a lady's silk scarf. I tried to imagine Ares and Aphrodite here, a couple of gods meeting in a junked-out amusement-park ride. Why? Then I noticed something I hadn't seen from up top: mirrors all the way around the rim of the pool, facing this spot. We could see ourselves no matter which direction we looked. That must be it. While Ares and Aphrodite were smooching with each other they could look at their favorite people: themselves. Percy picked up the scarf. It shimmered pink, and the perfume was indescribable—rose, or mountain laurel. He smiled, a little dreamy, and was about to rub the scarf against his cheek I frowned ripped it out of his hand and stuffed it in me pocket. "No." "What?" "Just get the shield, Arthur Curry, and let's get out of here." The moment he touched the shield, I knew we were in trouble. My hand broke through something that had been connecting it to the dashboard. A cobweb, I thought, but then I looked at a strand of it on my palm and saw it was some kind of metal filament, so fine it was almost invisible. A trip wire. "Wait," I said. "Too late." "There's another Greek letter on the side of the boat, another Eta. This is a trap." Noise erupted all around us, of a million gears grinding, as if the whole pool were turning into one giant machine. Grover yelled, "Guys!" Up on the rim, the Cupid statues were drawing their bows into firing position. Before I could suggest taking cover, they shot, but not at us. They fired at each other, across the rim of the pool. Silky cables trailed from the arrows, arcing over the pool and anchoring where they landed to form a huge golden asterisk. Then smaller metallic threads started weaving together magically between the main strands, making a net. "We have to get out," Percy said. "Woah I didn't know!" I said. Percy grabbed the shield and holding my hand we ran, but going up the slope of the pool was not as easy as going down. "I'm going to drown again aren't I? "Come on!" Grover shouted. He was trying to hold open a section of the net for us, but wherever he touched it, the golden threads started to wrap around his hands. The Cupids' heads popped open. Out came video cameras. Spotlights rose up all around the pool, blinding us with illumination, and a loudspeaker voice boomed: "Live to Olympus in one minute ... Fifty-nine seconds, fifty-eight ..." "Hephaestus!" Annabeth screamed. "I'm so stupid.' Eta is H.' He made this trap to catch his wife with Ares. Now we're going to be broadcast live to Olympus and look like absolute fools!" We'd almost made it to the rim when the row of mirrors opened like hatches and thousands of tiny metallic... things poured out. It was an army of wind-up creepy-crawlies: bronze-gear bodies, spindly legs, little pincer mouths, all scuttling toward us in a wave of clacking, whirring metal. "Spiders!" I said. I kicked these pests. Percy pulled me up and dragged my back toward the boat. "I am not staying here! I am so going to drown again!" The things were coming out from all around the rim now, millions of them, flooding toward the center of the pool, completely surrounding us. I told myself they probably weren't programmed to kill, just corral us and bite us and make us look stupid. Then again, this was a trap meant for gods. And we weren't gods. Percy and I climbed into the boat. Percy started kicking away the spiders as they swarmed aboard. I was swatting away some that I could. "Thirty, twenty-nine," called the loudspeaker. The spiders started spitting out strands of metal thread, trying to tie us down. The strands were easy enough to break at first, but there were so many of them, and the spiders just kept coming. I kicked one away from Percy's leg and its pincers took a chunk out of my new surf shoe. Annabeth was frozen from where she stood trying to keep away from us as much as possible. Grover hovered above the pool in his flying sneakers, trying to pull the net loose, but it wouldn't budge. Think, I told myself. Think. The Tunnel of Love entrance was under the net. We could use it as an exit, except that it was blocked by a million robot spiders. "Fifteen, fourteen," the loudspeaker called. Then I saw them: huge water pipes behind the mirrors, where the spiders had come from. And up above the net, next to one of the Cupids, a glass-windowed booth that must be the controller's station. "Annabeth!" Percy yelled. "Get into that booth! Find the 'on' switch!" Snapping out of her trance she turned. "But—" "Do it!" Annabeth was in the controller's booth now, staring at the buttons. "Five, four—" Annabeth sighed and started pushing every button, then looked up at us hopelessly, raising her hands. She was letting us know that she'd pushed every button, but still nothing was happening. "Y/N, I won't let you drown, just hold on!" I didn't think twice on nodding. Percy closed his eyes. "Two, one, zero!" Water exploded out of the pipes. It roared into the pool, sweeping away the spiders. He pulled me into the seat next to us and fastened me seat belt just as the tidal wave slammed into our boat, over the top, whisking the spiders away and dousing us completely, but not capsizing us. The boat turned, lifted in the flood, and spun in circles around the whirlpool. He held my hand tight afraid I'll drown the moment he lets go. The water was full of short-circuiting spiders, some of them smashing against the pool's concrete wall with such force they burst. Spotlights glared down at us. The Cupid-cams were rolling, live to Olympus. Percy and I held tight, both of us screaming as the boat shot curls and hugged corners and took forty-five-degree plunges past pictures of Romeo and Juliet and a bunch of other Valentine's Day stuff. Then we were out of the tunnel, the night air whistling through our hair as the boat barreled straight toward the exit. If the ride had been in working order, we would've sailed off a ramp between the golden Gates of Love and splashed down safely in the exit pool. But there was a problem. The Gates of Love were chained. Two boats that had been washed out of the tunnel before us were now piled against the barricade—one submerged, the other cracked in half. Jump. We have to jump. "Unfasten your seat belt," I yelled to Percy. Who already had his belt unfastened. "Jumping?" "We're going to have to jump for it." My idea was simple and insane. As the boat struck, we would use its force like a springboard to jump the gate. I'd heard of people surviving car crashes that way, getting thrown thirty or forty feet away from an accident. With luck, we would land in the pool. Hopefully not drown. Percy nodded. He gripped my hand as the gates got closer. "On my mark," I said. On mine. Jump when 'I' say so Perseus Jackson. He looked at me reluctantly. "How?" "What?" You'll know when I say so. "Fine." He shouted. "Jump when I jump!" "How would I know?!" "You'll say it!" "What?!" "Just tell me when to jump!!" "Now!" I yelled. I was about to jump when Percy pulled me closer. "Not yet! You didn't say it yet." Jump Hero. Percy jumped. I followed him. Crack! He was right. If we'd jumped when I thought we should've, we would've crashed into the gates. He got us maximum lift. Our boat smashed into the pileup and we were thrown into the air, straight over the gates, the pool was getting closer. I was going to drown again. Something grabbed me from behind. I yelled, "Ouch!" Grover! In midair, he had grabbed Percy by the shirt, and me by the arm, and was trying to pull us out of a crash landing, but we had all the momentum. "You're too heavy!" Grover said. "We're going down!" We spiraled toward the ground, Grover doing his best to slow the fall. We smashed into a photo-board, Grover's head going straight into the hole where tourists would put their faces, pretending to be Noo-Noo the Friendly Whale. Percy and I tumbled to the ground, banged up but alive. Ares's shield was still on Percy's arm. "Are you okay?" Percy panted. "Yeah... I didn't drown." Once we caught our breath, Percy and I went over to help Annabeth who was getting Grover out of the photo-board and thanked him for saving our lives. I looked back at the Thrill Ride of Love. The water was subsiding. Our boat had been smashed to pieces against the gates. A hundred yards away, at the entrance pool, the Cupids were still filming. The statues had swiveled so that their cameras were trained straight on us, the spotlights in our faces. I walked closer, "You guys suck." I blew blasphemy at the camera. Percy pulled me away. "Show's over!" Percy yelled. "Thank you! Good night!" The Cupids turned back to their original positions. The lights shut off. The park went quiet and dark again, except for the gentle trickle of water into the Thrill Ride of Love's exit pool. I wondered if Olympus had gone to a commercial break, or if our ratings had been any good. I hated being teased. I hated being tricked. And I had plenty of experience handling bullies who liked to do that stuff to me. Percy hefted the shield on his arm and turned to us friends. "We need to have a little talk with Ares."

M!MC POV
15 Weeks later.
"You can do this Ellie"
Tears are streaming down her face "I can't! It hurts..AHHHHHH!"
"Ellie, look at me, you can do this just breathe. You got this beautiful"
She takes deep breaths on the gas and air, "Now Ellie, I just need to check if we are there yet so after this contraction I'll see how we are doing" April the midwife tells her.
(Her water broke at half 7 this morning just as I got up for work. The contractions started lunch time. It's 2 days until Charlie's due date. I wish I could take the pain away)
I move out the way for April "Has that one gone?" she nods.
"Right, let's have a look" the midwife checks Ellie over "Well, good news you've hit 10 centimeters"
"Another one is com.....Ahhhh!"
I take her hand "Right, now Ellie. I need you to put all your energy into pushing. With your next contraction can you give me a small gentle push. Put your chin to your chest as you push"
She pants while she waits for the next contraction, it isn't long before it's here. Instead of screaming Ellie puts all her effort into pushing "Ellie, that is brilliant! Remember to breathe, small, gentle pushes"
Her grip on my hand tightens, she gasps "That one has gone. How much longer until he's here"
"I think with a few more pushes we'll have the head"
I kiss her knuckles "You're doing amazing beautiful"
"What? Even though I'm nearly breaking your hand?" she smiles.
"Break it! Squeeze as hard as you can if that's what you need"
"Here com..."
"That's it! That's it Ellie, small pushes. I can see the head"April tells her.
A few more pushes later "That's the head out Ellie" She started panting "Next contraction and he'll be here!"
"Oh god here it..." she starts pushing again.
"Here he is" April looks up at the clock "8:05 PM"
"Ellie, You did it, he's here!!" I well up.
"Would you like skin to skin contact?" Ellie nods tears streaming down her face as April places him against her chest under her hospital grown.
"Adam, he's here. He's really here!"
I kiss her forehead "He is!! I'm so proud of you beautiful"
"Would Daddy like to cut the cord?"
"Yeah, I'll give it ago" lifting the grown she turns Charlie (He's so tiny! He's sucking his fingers. He's gorgeous)
"Right, just cut here" the scissors cut through the cord.
Ellie's smiling at me, my heart has never felt so full.
A little while later, after Ellie delivers the afterbirth, vitamin K, stitches, April places Charlie on the weighing scales "Lets see how much you weigh you little beaut.....7lbs 7oz. Now let's give you daddy, so he can dress you, then is mummy breast feeding?"
"I think I'm going to do a bit of both?"
"Great while daddy is getting him dressed why don't you grab a shower or bath and I'll grab you a hot drink and some toast"
Later we are taken up to the neonatal unit where, I get up onto the bed with her, I pull her to me, kiss the top of her head "Ellie, Thank you" I whisper.
She looks up at me, she looks absolutely shattered "Thank you? For what?" she whispers back.
"For giving me a baby. Making me a dad"
She lets out small laugh "I think you'll find you gave me him first. So, thank you!"
I laugh, "True, but you grew him and did the hardest part"
"And I couldn't have done it without you! Adam, we're parents!!"
We both drift off.
1:38 AM
I hear Charlie stirring I pick him up out of the cot bed, I look over to Ellie who is still asleep.
"Hey little man, we need to be quiet. Mummy needs her rest" not wanting to wake her, I give Charlie a bottle, burp him and change his nappy.
Luckily April helped me do it downstairs "Right, we need to remember, we wipe what we see. That's what she told us, isn't it?" after I've changed him, place him on my chest he soon asleep again, I place him in his cot again.
~*~*~*~
4:23 AM
"Such a good boy! Well done!" I hear Ellie whisper. I wake to see her breastfeeding Charlie, she spots me "Hey, go back to sleep. We have this don't we!"
"I didn't hear him stir"
She smiles "I got up to use the toilet when I came back, he was just starting to wake. His nappy isn't full. It's weird!"
I laugh, sit up to kiss her cheek "Weird!" I pull out my phone.

F!MC POV
"Are you ready beautiful?"
I look up at him "This is it! We get to go home"
"As a family of 3" he places a soft kiss on my lips.
I go to pick up my bag "Don't even think about it Ellie," I hear Adam over my shoulder, I roll my eyes.
"OK, hulk but you can't carry Charlie in his car seat and this bag"
He takes it off me "I can! Now let's get you two home"
We walk down to the car Adam clips Charlie's seat onto the Isofix, I get into the passengers seat.
20 Minutes later we pull up to the house once inside Adam ushers me upstairs to have a bath. I hear Charlie and my breast start to leak "Adam! I'll be down in a second" I quickly brush my hair and head down.
In the living room Adam is on the sofa with Charlie, he passes him over, but Charlie doesn't want to latch on. "Here I got one of the formula ready made bottles out for him" Adam hands me a bottle.
I look at the coffee table and spot them, there are flowers and chocolates on the table. "Who's that from?"
I look at him confused "have a look," he smirks.
He picks up the card out of the flowers. The front of the card reads BEAUTIFUL!
"They are from you!" I melt.
"I got Lisa to make them up for me and Nan to bring them round early this morning"
"They are beautiful! Thank you"
He leans in, his lips brush against mine "No! Thank you!" Adam kisses the top of Charlies head "I love his smell"
"New baby smell"
"I had a text from Mum and your mum they wanted to come round today, but I've told them maybe it best to leave it until tomorrow"
"Give us a chance to settle in first" I smile.
"Yeah, that and I wanted my little family to myself a little while longer" he grins.
~*~*~*~
The next day

Elaine made a platter of sandwiches and snacky bits, "He has your nose Ellie" Nina is cuddling Charlie.
"I hope his eyes change to Adams" Adam squeezes my hand.
"They can change up to a year old" mum says.
"How did he sleep last night?" Tom asks.
"He only woke once!"
I hear a low chuckle coming from Adam, I turn, and he's smiling "Twice actually"
"He did? Why didn't you wake me?"
He smiles, "You looked so peace sleeping. Plus that's what I'm here for"
"Adam & Ellie, your dad and I got something for Charlie. Al go and grab it" Al gets up and walks to the hallway before bringing in a big box.
"I know you have a cot and a moses basket but Sophie's daughter had one for her little boy and swears by it"
"What is it?" Adam asks.
"Next to you crib"
"Oh, wow thank you both" I smile.
~*~*~*~
4 Weeks later I've finished Charlies night feed and put him back down.
I slip back into bed Adams arms come around me, pulling me tight against him "Did someone have a naughty dream?" I whisper as I feel his hard member against the curves of my arse.
"Maybe...its torture not doing anything about it"
I laugh "Just because we can't do that doesn't mean I can't do anything!"
I feel his body tease up "What?" he whispers against my neck.
I turn to face him "There are other ways I can help you scratch a certain itch" I start kissing his neck and push him onto his back.
I trail down his chest until I reach his inner thigh "Ellie, you don't have to"
I smile against him "I want to," I pull down his boxer springing him free, he gasps as I wet the tip.
"Fuck!"
"Shhh! You'll wake Charlie!"
~*~*~*~
The next morning "Ellie, your mum is here!" Adam calls up from downstairs.
"OK, I'll be down in a bit" I make my way downstairs, Adam is at the bottom.
"She in the living room cuddling up to Charlie. Are you excited?"
"Aww, bless her! Super excited!" I smile.
"I find it funny you own a bridal shop but you're going to another to get your wedding dress!"

Today’s theme- “Too far”
I was skimming through some comments and such and came across @the-garbage-is-my-fandom ‘s comment of “more horror art” on my “Bathtime” piece. And I was inspired. I’m especially excited for @melodyofthevoid to tear into me like I do her when she abuses my son.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen” Dib chanted to himself choking on what little air his lungs could grasp. He had never known fear like this and his body just had no idea how to handle it.
Dib mind raced, playing the previous weeks in his head, trying to figure out what went wrong. His master plan, a small gas bomb capable of temporarily paralyzing or knocking his enemy out, was finally complete. Many a sleepless night and wasted weekend on containment structure, chemical analysis and test runs. This was it. Finally, he could capture the alien menace and expose him. Finally, he would no longer be the crazy kid. Finally, the world would see the danger they were in all along. Finally.... he would be the hero.
But this wasn’t supposed to happen.
Tumblr media
[[More]]
Dib snuck in through the front door after Zim’s idiot sidekick carelessly left it open, making haste to the neighborhood taco truck’s sirens blaring in the distance. He cautiously entered, realizing the Invader was no where in sight and gently placed the bomb in the center of the floor of the “living room”. Carefully he made his way up to the wires completely covering the ceiling for shelter. Soon enough, Gir threw the door open, Damn near ripping it off its hinges, absolutely covered in grease and meat. It seemed the taco run was a success.
He wandered over to the “box” in the middle of the floor and started screaming for his master. “MASTAAAAA!!!! A PRESENT!!!!!!” He shrieked and screeched. How did Zim deal with this all the time?
Within a moment or two, an undisguised Zim angrily emerged from the toilet in the kitchen (which was a sight Dib never really got used to. How does a WHOLE BODY fit down the small opening of a TOILET?!)
“Gir! What nonsense are you going on about!?”
“I gots a present! I’m the birthday boy!”
Zim quickly snatched the “gift” from the metallic hands, studying it’s shotty craftsmanship briefly and returning his full attention to the wide eyed robot standing before him. “What have I told you about bringing junk into this house? First that street lamp-” “But I wanted a nightlight to keep the monkey away.” Gir quietly and somberly interrupted.
Zim sighed. Was this conversation going to go anywhere? No. No, it wasn’t. He might as well talk to the jar of mayo still sitting open on the kitchen table from 3 days ago.
He bent down, clutching the box to his abdomen and give the robot a small pat on the head. “Zim told you he took care of the monkey. It can’t hurt you anymore. But please, Gir, refrain from bringing more stuff home.” He said calmly with a defeated tone in his voice. Gir’s face lit up with a wide grin spanning from “ear to ear” (had he had them anyway). “OKAAAAAY!” He screeched and wrapped his arms around his master. Dib could swear he heard something pop and squish under the groans and painful sounds Zim was emitting.
Then there was a click.
It seemed like the blink of an eye it all happened. An explosion unlike anything Dib ever thought possible by his hands unfolding around him. Windows shattered as glass slashed through the air in every which way direction. Chunks of flooring and wall violently slammed into anything unfortunate enough to come into their path. The fogged air was tainted with this disgustingly potent smell blanketing the entire room. The resulting shock wave flung Dib from his hiding spot, colliding with the cold tiles beneath him.
He blacked out for just a moment, his body on fire and his ears ringing loudly, drowning out all other sound. His eyes slowly opened and he worked up the strength to push himself to his feet. He noticed the blood on his hands as he lifted himself. He wasn’t surprised he got cut. He just couldn’t determain how bad. He was so disoriented.
He tried his best to scan the room, eyes adjusting themselves from the bright blast that had just assaulted them. A shine in the corner grabbed his attention in the sea of rubble and destruction. The robot, Gir, was crushed into the wall by large slabs of concrete and tiles. His once blue glowing eyes dim and cracked. He remained motionless.
Tumblr media
“Oh, no.” Dib thought, realizing the severity of his actions. “Zim!” He cried out of instinct. There was no response. There was no movement in the cloud of smoke as it slowly decepated. The clearing air revealed Zim’s limp frame sprawled out within the neon-green splattered crater the explosion created by the front door. A gigantic hole displayed the vacant interior of his chest and abdominal cavity. Every bit of his internal organs were laid on the ground. His ruby eyes open and dull with his face resting almost peaceful. Dib’s stomach dropped.
THIS WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN.
Panic was setting in. He wanted to get close to the alien but it’s like his legs forbid such an action. So he goggled. “WHAT DO I DO?!” He blurted out to no one. He backed into the kitchen, never taking his eyes off the crater of debris and guts. His breathing jagged, his pulse racing and his throat overflowing, begging to release its contents on the oddly colored tiling. He felt sick.
“INITIATING SURVIVAL MODE”
He jumped. A sudden noise in this deafening silence. It was a voice he instantly recognized. Zim’s Computer. But it wasn’t echoing from the darkness of the house... it was coming from Zim.
The once limp body slowly started to adjust itself, trying to sit itself up. The more it moved, the more it’s contents leaked out of the organic frame. Dib just silently stared in awe....in relief.... in disgust as his fallen rival stood up. Swaying slightly as it tried to regain its balance. Their eyes locked. A shutter violently shook Dib. Zim was a lot of things. A pain in the ass. An idiot. Selfish. A narcissist. Incompetent. But this wasn’t Zim. This.... was TERRIFYING.
The creature’s thousand yard stare prickled Dib’s skin with the feeling of a million bugs crawling on his person. The paranormal investigator watched-even from several feet away- the speedy throbbing of the veins protruding around It’s eyes. The alien opened his mouth to speak and all that came out through the river of brightly colored blood was the sound of static. It was painful. SO PAINFUL to hear. Dib wanted to shield his ears from the sound but his body stood there still.
The creature’s attention tore away from Dib for a moment, eyeing the damaged robot. His PAK opened up, aggressively flinging his long, thin, robotic legs outwards. The legs came down one by one, echoing a small “clink” on the floor as the razor sharp ends touched the tile. His body lifted and made his way to the faithful metallic companion. Without saying a word, Dib watched as Zim’s body pried the heavy debris pinning the small robot. Gir’s body was released and the gloved hands gently caught him before he could fall on the floor.
THIS WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN
“Zim.... I swear.... I didn’t mean to...-“
He was caught off when the red eyes turned to his direction again. Even without pupils or Iris’, Dib could feel the daggers being thrown at him. The mouth opened to speak. “Gir.... why?”
Dib backed up one more step, further into the kitchen. Zim’s voice.... it was wrong. Metallic. Cold. Disoriented. Unlike anything he had ever heard before. Words caught in Dib’s throat but he mustered all his strength to release them. “It was an accident. It-it was just supposed to knock you out.” Dib continued to ramble. “I don’t know what happened!”
“Miserable”
Dib tensed up “W-what is?”
“Your existence brings misery. To your planet. To your family. To anyone unfortunate enough to come into contact with you.”
Those words cut Dib’s soul deep. It’s like Zim could read his worst fears. Something he kept hidden- that black stain in his heart-all this time. Exposed. Just like that.
Before he could say anything, the alien continued “ You have always been an annoyance, you sickening human. We cannot escape you. Your voice. Your presence. Your smell. Forever a thorn in our side. The reason my tallest find me nothing more than entertainment. Why Zim can never succeed in his goals. Now this....the only good Zim had...” he said staring at Gir’s face.
“What is he talking about? What did I do with his leaders?” Dib pondered, eyes frantically shifting between Zim’s body and the door behind him.
His neck snapped in Dib’s direction. “But that’s not the worst part. Zim always heard it. For years. It was always following me.” The legs carried him one step closer to the kitchen. Dib silently took a step backwards. “There. Annoying me. Attacking his senses. A constant reminder of the misery you cause. Zim will rid himself of this....this sound...”
Dib needed to flee. But how? This creature was in front of the door!
Zim’s lips curled up. His smirk growing, stretching wider and wider, tearing the ends of his mouth apart. Blood leaking down the sides of his face as the smile grew to sizes ever more disturbing. It was like he was trying to separate the top and bottom of head. There was a silence. With a grin unseen by human eyes before, The creature chucked.
“OnCe I sILeNcE tHaT hEaRt Of YoUrS, wiLl ZiM FiNaLLy bE FrEe?
Tumblr media
As the creature leapt towards the investigator, his body (FINALLY) responded by quickly dodging out of the way, slamming into the sink. The thin, metallic legs crashed into the dining room table decimating it instantly. Without so much as a thought, Dib crawled into the trash can and landed into the claustrophobic elevator to the lab. He panted and shook. It was a terrible idea to go down to the labs. A territory not his. He was out of his element and he wasn’t sure how he would escape. But it beat staying up there and getting ripped to shreds. The pink glow of the elevator made him even more on edge.
The doors opened, startling Dib who was frantically lost in thought. He ran from the elevator, peeking behind tables, tubes and anything else while keeping his senses sharp and alert. Zim was somewhere. Maybe he could just take the elevator back up and leave? But what if he was still in the kitchen?
There was a high-pitched screech pouring from the shaft he had just exited. The elevator lights flickered, sparks raining down and the glow of Zim’s upside down eyes peeked through its opening. His legs slowly pulled him out, adjusting he and Gir (whom was still being cradled) upright. “Diiiiiiiiib.... I kNoW YoU aRe In HeRe....” it gargled.
Dib patiently waited, holding back his sobs and screams, for the towering monster to pass. He needed to keep running. Find the elevator to the toilet! It was the only way! He hid. And ran. Hid. And ran. It was the most horrifying game of cat and mouse conceivable. The longer it went on, the worse it seemed to get for him. He couldn’t find the exit. And he couldn’t find Zim. Not that he WANTED to find him, but at least pass him to know he was still in this metallic labyrinth. That the kitchen was clear.
Tumblr media
Finally, he stumbled upon what he assumed was the elevator on the other side of a large room. He was so close-! Within a single second, his joy faded to nothingness by the familiar sound of scraping. He watched the shadow on the floor as it shakily passed by the table Dib had temporarily chosen as shelter. It stopped and stood still like a statue momentarily: Then went about it’s way. “Finally-! To that door!”
He sprinted to the exit, knocking a few items from a table and catching the beast’s attention. Running with all the strength his body had to offer, he was finally within reach of the button left of the doorframe. His fist slammed into it and the sounds of the creature hurried closer, bellowing his name in a mortifying shriek.
The double doors opened. Dib threw his body into the room only to hit into something and get pelted with tools and cans tumbling from above. Realization slapped him in the face. This isn’t an elevator....
This is a closet.
With heavy dread, Dib turned his face to see that he and the creature were mere inches away from each other. There was no where to go. Never taking his eye’s off Zim’s, he felt two sharp knives glide over his ribcage, gently banging on each bone as they made their way to their target. It’s face had a permanent smile, gradually becoming more and more uncontrollable the harder and faster the thrashing in Dib’s chest became. As the blades slowly began digging in and red blood mixed with green, 5 words continuously haunted his thoughts.

Summary: After a sudden explosion leaves Tim seriously injured, he’s forced to rely on his brothers to get him out of the jam.
The first thing Tim became aware of was the sound of someone screaming. No, not screaming, he realized. It only felt that way because the voice was so close. This person was panting, saying the same thing over and over, anxious and hurried. Tim struggled to make sense of the words, but his thoughts came and went like confetti on a breeze, quick and fleeting and impossible to hang on to.
The next things he became aware of were hands and arms around him, holding him, and a rhythmic jostling sensation. Someone must’ve been carrying him. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been carried anywhere. For some reason the thought almost made him laugh. He was seventeen, after all. Practically a man.
“He’s smiling,” a young voice snapped. The first words Tim had been able to hear clearly. “Why is he smiling?”
“Calm down.” The second voice was older, more steady, but the words seemed to come through clenched teeth.
Finally the world around him faded into view. Tim was staring blearily up at Dick’s jaw as they hurried… somewhere. He couldn’t remember. Dick was sweating and covered in scrapes and bruises. A nasty gash at his hairline was bleeding heavily, forcing him to run with one eye closed.
“You’re… bleeding…” Tim croaked.
Dick looked down at him, shocked. A moment later, Damian popped into view. Half of Damian’s mask was missing; one arm was folded protectively into his chest. They both looked terrible. Tim tried to put the pieces together, to remember how they’d gotten like this, but the confetti in his mind swirled impossibly fast, offering only fragments. An abandoned office building. A hostage. Tim running towards something…
“Just relax,” Dick said firmly, apparently reading the growing frustration and anxiety on Tim’s face. “You’re gonna be okay.”
You’re gonna be okay. That’s what Tim had been hearing earlier – the phrase he’d kept hearing over and over again. But it wasn’t himself that he was worried about.
“Wait,” Damian said suddenly, stopping with his finger to his ear. “What do you mean we can’t…” He paused. Tim realized he was talking to Oracle. “Well then we’ll just move it!” Damian shouted. Then another pause as he listened before,
“Fine!”
When Damian didn’t immediately offer an explanation, Dick asked “What is it?”
“We can’t go out this way,” he said, indicating the stairwell they were standing at. Tim noticed that Damian was determinedly looking away from them. His exposed eye glistened with frustrated tears as his hand curled into a fist at his side. For all his posturing and combat experience, he was still just a child. Tim decided to try remember that more often.
“Why not?” Dick pressed.
“It’s blocked.”
“Okay.” Dick took a steadying breath. “Then we’ll just have to find another way. What did Oracle say?”
Damian ground his teeth. “Nothing useful,” he spat.
“Damian–”
“She said to wait, Grayson! Is that what you wanted hear? She told us to ‘stand by.’” Damian never used their real names in the field. He caught himself a moment later, recanting. “I mean Nightwing,” he murmured.
“Did you tell her about…?”
Damian just nodded. Dick cursed under his breath.
“What’s… the big deal,” Tim asked. His voice sounded odd. It was weak and thin. He tried to clear his throat. “You guys got dates or something?”
Dick and Damian just stared at him, horrified and anxious. It took Tim a little longer than it should have to realize that they weren’t upset because they had to wait. They were worried about him.
“I’m fine,” he added hoarsely. “Really. You don’t have to keep carrying me.”
Tim started to climb out of Dick’s grasp, but Dick held tighter. “Tim, don’t–” he began and in that moment, Tim saw it. The reason Damian and Dick had been so stressed. The reason neither of them could stand the idea of waiting even a second longer to get out. The reason Tim had found himself wavering on the edge of consciousness since the moment he’d woken up. The reason, he assumed, he’d passed out in the first place.
“Tim…” Dick said slowly, carefully. Like an officer trying to talk someone down. “It’s okay. You’re gonna be okay.”
Damian just stared, wide eyed.
And Tim realized they were both waiting for him to react, probably to freak out. But really as he stared down at himself, he just felt utterly confused. What he was looking at didn’t make any sense. The confetti of his thoughts kicked up again, sending images flashing through his mind.
A hostage.
A gas leak.
Tim running towards the kidnapper.
A gun he hadn’t noticed before.
A single shot.
An explosion.
An explosion, he thought. It was starting to make sense now. He looked at their surroundings as if for the first time. The entire floor looked like a warzone. Rubble everywhere, the ceiling missing, exposing the entirety of the floor above them.
“I fell…” Tim whispered. He remembered the explosion, the floor giving out beneath him. So suddenly he didn’t have time to think, to try to slow his decent.
Dick just nodded.
Tim returned his gaze to the wood fragment protruding from his abdomen, realizing for the first time how cold and feverish he felt, how the smell of blood mingled with the dust and smoke on the air to create a sickening perfume. How no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t slow his breathing. “I fell,” he whispered again between gasps.
“He’s going into shock,” Damian said.
“I know.”
Their voices began to swirl together and morph, like a song being played backwards in slow motion. The world rolled nauseatingly around him and, without warning, Tim threw his head to the side and vomited an alarming mixture of blood and saliva. And finally, Tim felt it.
The pain.
He had experienced a lot of injuries in his short life, ranging in severity. Broken bones, gun shots, even nearly lost a finger once in an unfortunate skiing incident. But the thing about pain is that after a while, memories of pain never quite do it justice. Sure you can remember that something hurt, but you’re never quite going to remember exactly how bad it really was.
So now, if you’d asked Tim if he’d ever felt anything like this before, he would’ve said no. Whether or not that was entirely true would be uncertain, but as fire bloomed out from the center of his stomach and raced through his veins, as his body convulsed and writhed involuntarily, as his head snapped back and a scream raked itself free from his throat, he couldn’t quite bring himself to care.
Dick cursed again. “He’s bleeding too much.”
“I thought you stitched him up!”
“I did the best I could with what we have,” Dick explained as Tim’s screams gave way to gritted cries. He tried to muffle the sounds in Dick’s chest.
“I know, buddy.” Dick’s voice was tight. Tim felt himself being lowered gently to the floor. He could barely see through his tears, but he saw Dick lean into view, holding something that looked like a pen. “Tim. I need you to take a deep breath, all right? This is gonna get a little rough, but we’re gonna have to cauterize it to stop the bleeding.”
Damian shoved something into Tim’s mouth, saying, “Bite down on this.” Then he disappeared from view again, and Tim felt his wrists being bound and tied to something above his head so that he couldn’t move his arms.
As his uniform was cut away to expose the wound, Tim tried to protest.
I’m all right! he tried to scream. I’m all right! Please don’t!
But his cries were muffled by the makeshift bite guard. Dick just looked at him apologetically then aimed the pen at his wound. A small beam of light appeared from the tip and the next thing Tim felt was white hot pain, centered on a single point in his abdomen, as if the entire sun hand shrunk down to size of a pinprick and lodged itself in his body.
Tim screamed against the object in his mouth, crying and thrashing, but his arms remained immobile, tied to whatever was above him. Meanwhile Damian struggled to keep his legs pinned with only one good arm.
“Damian,” Dick muttered, his eye focused on his work. The other was still occluded with blood.
“I’m trying!” Damian shot back. As time passed, the smell of burning flesh filled the space.
Tim’s flesh.
The thought sent another wave of nausea rolling through him.
“There,” Dick said at last, sitting back with a sigh. “That should keep your guts in at least until we can get you home. You did good, Tim.”
Tim tried to nod, tried to respond at all, but suddenly his head felt incredibly heavy. It bobbled as he tried to hold it up, tried to keep his eyes open and focused as everything in him seemed to be telling him to let go.
“Tim?” Dick asked, getting closer. “Tim, you gotta keep your eyes open.”
I am, Tim said. Or at least, that’s what he meant to say before everything went dark.
****
Tim dreamt of plane rides and gauze. He felt hands all around him, smelled the sharp tang of antibiotics and disinfectants. Every once in a while he’d hear a familiar voice or two, asking him to do something, to swallow some pill or bitter medicine. He always obliged, or at least he thought he did. He couldn’t be sure. Everything was a blur of moments and faces.
Occasionally he’d dream of fire and blood. Of pain so intense he thought he might die. In those dreams, hands always came to hold him down, he’d feel a prick in his arm, then sink again into blissful emptiness.
****
When Tim finally awoke, he found himself in his room at Wayne Manor. Morning light filtered through the curtains, a breeze blew through, filling the room with the smell of flowers and freshly mowed grass from the grounds. Tim tried to get his bearings, to parse through his dreams and memories. It wasn’t until he tossed aside the covers and saw the bandages across his abdomen that he realized that much of what he remembered had been real.
He stared at his bandages for quite some time, unable to shake the image of the shard of wood sprouting from his body like a ghastly bone. Finally, he eased his legs over the edge of the bed and sat up gingerly. The movement sent jolts of pain through him, forcing him to gasp and wince as he managed to get himself upright. He was sitting on the edge of the bed catching his breath when Damian appeared, his arm in a sling.
“Trying to escape again?” Damian asked.
“A…again?” Tim breathed. Had he tried to get up before? He couldn’t remember that at all.
“Yes, again. Granted, you never made it very far the other times.” Damian entered and leaned against the wall.
“Huh.” Tim could vaguely remember the feeling of the carpet on his face. Had he collapsed before? Judging by the expression on Damian’s face, equal parts amused and concerned, Tim didn’t think that was too far off. “How’s your arm?”
Damian rolled his eyes and scoffed, apparently exasperated by the question. Tim could imagine what he was thinking: Who the hell cares about my arm? He crossed to a corner of the room where there was a walker. “Father wanted me to make sure you didn’t go anywhere for a while without this.” He placed it front and center.
Tim blanched. The idea of using a walker to get around made him physically ill.
Reading his expression, Damian scoffed and sent it clattering across the room. “I told him it was absurd. Why would you need that thing if I’m here?” He said it spitefully, refusing to look directly at Tim all the while.
Tim grinned in spite of himself. “My thoughts exactly.”
The faintest color came into Damian’s cheeks as he joined Tim at the edge of the bed and slipped under one of his arms. With a pained grunt, Tim pushed himself onto his feet, leaning heavily on Damian’s small frame. They eased out into the hall where they found Dick, a few stitches peeking out below his hair.
“Look who’s back amongst the living,” Dick laughed, ducking under Tim’s other arm without hesitation.
Now leaning mostly on his brothers, walking wasn’t so hard. But he couldn’t help but feel somewhat guilty. “You know you guys don’t have to–”
“I swear to God, Drake,” Damian said, silencing him instantly. Tim smirked. Fair enough.
“So uh,” he said, still grinning. “Which one of you is gonna help me use the bathroom?”

Your tires slowed as you pulled in, the headlights shining into the window alerting him to your arrival.
Walking out he crossed his arms on your open window and rested his head on top of them.
“Full Service tonight Y/N?” he gave you a dimpled smile.
Turning the ignition off, you climbed out of your large black Range Rover and walked around the vehicle to stand next to him.
“I don’t know why a tiny girl needs such a big car,” he chuckled while wrapping his arms around you.
“Only the best for my family Joon, if it’s not a status symbol it’s not for us.” You’d repeated your father’s motto so many times it rolled out of your mouth too easily.
He dropped his arms and began to walk away from you, opting instead to take up a defensive position by the pump.
“So what happened today? What pissed you off so much that you came here looking to slum it with me?”
He was unusually upset at your words, his face turned into a frown and his eyes looked sad.
“Hey, Joon… what’s going on? I thought we were both cool with this?”
You questioned him but you weren’t sure you wanted an answer.
“I’m just trying to correlate how my dick is good enough for you but I’m not.”
And there it was. For the past 8 months you’d been showing up here whenever you needed him.  What was he to you? A friend with benefits, an ego boost, an escape?
“Joon please, you know my situation. I can’t just leave my fiance and disappoint my family. I thought you were okay with helping me let off steam.”
You walked over to him and laid your hand on his shoulder, “You’re the only real thing I have in my life.”
Sighing, he looped his finger into the waist of your jeans and pulled you close to him, “It’s starting to hurt Y/N.”
You leaned your head onto his chest and inhaled, the smell of gasoline hung onto his clothes creating a scent memory that made you crave him.
"What should I do Joon? You know how I feel about you but my family would disown me. I’d lose everything."
You looked up at him hoping he could just understand.
He knew he had nothing to promise you other than his love and his poetry, so he offered the one tangible thing he could.
"I’d take care of you in all the ways he can’t."
You began to say his name when he cut your words off with his lips. Gripping your hips he pulled you closer.
“I know he can’t fuck you like I can, you wouldn’t be here if he could.”
He gripped your hair and ran his tongue up your neck sending shivers down your spine. Grabbing his hand you pulled him into the building, the bell ringing above the door frantically as you made your way into the store.
Pushing him back against the counter, you fumbled with his belt desperately trying to get it undone.
“Right here?” he asked “Aren’t you afraid someone will see?”
Rubbing his hardened cock you stopped to look him in the eye and teased, “You’re not getting shy on me now are you Joon?”
He stopped you, cupping your face. “Y/N, I’m not the one with something to lose. I’ll take you right here in front of the window if it’s what you want.”
You dropped to your knees and kissed his bulge through his jeans stopping to bite delicately at the tip. A soft “fuck” escaped his mouth, “please baby girl.”
You loved when he begged, nothing got you wetter faster than knowing how much he wanted you.
Lifting his shirt you moaned at the sight of his pubic trail, your nose against his abdomen licking your way down its path. Popping the button of his denims you looked up at him while slowly working the zipper down. His blue boxers sat low on his hips and you pushed them down just enough to expose his rock hard cock.
Reaching in you cupped your hand around his balls and rubbed them while he twitched impatiently waiting for your mouth. He looked beautiful with his eyes closed, his smile upturned, and his muscular chest moving with his heavy deep breaths.
His cock always smelled like soap, and it turned you on thinking about how he must give himself a few gratuitous pumps in the shower, maybe thinking about you.
Your head was spinning, you needed him, wanted to give him something more. Wrapping your arms around him grabbing his ass, you thrust him towards you. Circling his beautiful firm pink tip with your tongue you teased the bead of precum leaking from his slit.
“God you taste good,” you let out before plunging him deep into your throat.
The animalistic grunt he let out encouraged you to continue. Wrapping your fingers tightly around his base you held him firm while you pushed and pulled your mouth over his length working him into a moaning mess.
Suddenly he stopped you, pulling you up into him he swung you around to the back of the counter and pushed you down out of sight.
“Shhh,” he whispered.
You could hear a series of voices approaching. The bell chimed and you were no longer alone.
“Hey Joon, what time are you off tonight? Should we wait around?”
It was a male voice speaking but hearing others in the background you guessed it was his wild band of housemates.
“No, it’s okay, I think I might be late closing tonight,” he answered, trying to get them to leave.
You decided to keep going, see how he’d handle a little head under the counter. Your hand pumped his now softening erection while your mouth gave his exposed balls little kitten licks. The frustration on his face as he tried not to surrender to the pleasure you were giving him was humorous.
A deep voice broke through the others, “Is that the famous Y/N’s Range Rover out there?”
You froze, had he told them about you?
He stammered trying to come up with an answer. “Yeah, it needs some work so she left it here.”
There was laughter amongst the boys and too many things being said, you strained to hear while keeping pace.
“You love her”
“You are so whipped Namjoon”
“Are we ever going to meet her? I for one don’t believe she’s real”
“I told you guys he wasn’t going to break up with her like he said”
“Yeah, I thought you said you were calling it off.”
You halted your movements in reaction to this information, his dick definitely needed to not be in your mouth anymore.
He glanced down at you on your knees hiding behind the gas station counter. Even with the unflattering fluorescents highlighting the tears glazing over your eyes, you were still the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.
He felt like an asshole, his head hurt at the thought that this may be the last time he’d see you. He needed to explain.
“Listen guys, the boss has been reviewing our shift tapes and I don’t want to get in trouble for having you hanging around, I’ll just meet up with you later back home.”
You didn’t see it, but his eyes looked down towards the counter hoping they’d get the hint.
“Oh! Shit, sorry Joon, ahh.. yeah we’ll get going.” The bell chimed and you were alone again.
He reached his hand out to help you up and pulled you into his arms.
“I’m so fucking sorry Y/N.”
You couldn’t be mad, how could you blame him? You had a fiance, you were using him for sex, you knew he deserved so much more.
“I guess we had to end it eventually,” you said as a tear fell down your cheek. “Is it because you don’t love me?”
He shook his head at you, “Without you, there’s no me, you’re the best of me.”
You threaded your fingers with his and grasped his hand tightly, “I love you Joon.”
Kissing you softly he whispered, “I love you too.“
In a desperate last attempt, you tangled your fingers into his hair and pulled him closer to you. Your lips became one as your tongues searched for their counterpart. Lifting you up he placed you down on the customer service counter and moved to stand in between your legs.
As close as he was, it wasn’t enough.
"Joon I need you inside me.”
It sounded desperate but you didn’t care, the thought of never being with him again was devastating.
He gently caressed your cheek and wiped away a tear that lingered there with his thumb.
“It doesn’t have to be over, but you have to choose, I can’t share you anymore.”
His hand slid under your skirt and his fingers moved delicately over your panties.
“Don’t talk right now, just let me prove how much I love you.”
Shifting the fabric to the side, he ran his fingers through your wetness until he was coated enough to slide one into you.
With one finger inside and his thumb drawing circles on your clit he used his other hand to unbutton your blouse.  Pulling down the cup of your bra he exposed your erect nipple and leaned in to circle it with his tongue. He was well aware that combining the two moves affected you in the best way.
He knew your body, your needs, he could make you cum in seconds if he wanted to, but he didn’t want to, not tonight.
Getting on his knees he grabbed your panties and pulled them down, tossing them aside. Pushing your thighs apart you could feel his warm breath getting closer to where you wanted him the most.
His tongue moved slowly over your clit, circling and sucking as he slid his fingers back in. Taking his time, he languidly enjoyed every drop of excitement he coaxed out of you.
With your legs shaking, he eased himself away.
“I need you to slow down baby, I want you to cum with me, okay?”
You could only nod in agreement, your head was floating in the clouds incapable of coherent thoughts or words.
His mouth met yours softly, and you moaned into the kiss. He pulled away and smiled knowing that tasting yourself on his lips turned you on more than it should.
His stiff cock was still out and he couldn’t take waiting anymore. Moving in to meet your entrance, the counter height lined you up perfectly. He slowly pushed into you and simultaneous sighs escaped you both.
This was right, he belonged here, how could this be the end? You became a tangle of arms, legs and mouths, not wanting to miss any part of each other.
Reaching the end, climax imminent, he held onto you tightly while he gave his final thrusts and came inside you.
Neither of you moved. Afraid to break away, the tears rolled down your cheeks. His hand was in your hair and he whispered, “I want to be a part of your page, I want to Interfere in your story, as your lover.”
He fell out of you and pulled away turning his back. He was zipping himself up and the permanence of it all hit like a ton of bricks.
“Joon, please…” you pleaded.
“I just can’t anymore,” he choked out through his tears.
“No, listen to me… please…Joon, take me home.”
You placed your hand on his shoulder and he turned back to look at you.
His eyes were red and his lips were quivering.
“My home?”
You nodded.
“It’s not what you’re used to Y/N, it’s dirty and I live with 6 guys… ”
You rested your forehead against his. “Joon, as long as I’m with you it doesn’t matter. With you, anywhere will be home.”

“JJ,” I mumbled, gripping harder on the armrests.
“Why are we at Barry’s?” Pope asked.
“Be right back guys” JJ said, climbing out of the van.
“JJ no!” I yelled, running after him.
JJ rummaged and threw stuff around in Barry’s house. It was so disgusting and smelled like no one had cleaned it in a very, very long time.
“JJ what are you doing?” I asked, standing by the door while he was in the kitchen.
“I know this motherfucker has a stash hidden” he said.
“A stash of what babe?” I questioned, throwing my arms out. I ran after him as he went to the back of the house. We stopped in what I’m assuming is Barry’s room.
“Found it” JJ said, dumping a shit load of cash on the bed. He grabbed a bag, stuffing all of the cash into it quickly.
“So, we’re robbing people now JJ?” I asked rhetorically, following behind him back to the front door.
“I’m sick and tired of people messing with us, we’re getting even” he spat out, slamming the door open.
“Yeah JJ and ya know, if you keep doing shit like this you know who you’re going to end up like? Your fucking dad!” I shouted, immediately regretting my words.
He slammed me up against the van, grabbing the front of my shirt. I didn’t back down from his stare. I was too angry and stubborn to see what I had said was so wrong. I could see the hurt behind the fury in his eyes.
“JJ!” John B yelled, coming to my side. I held up my hand, telling him I had the situation handled.
“You really sprouting that shit on me baby?” JJ asked.
“This is beyond psychotic JJ! Barry knows dangerous people, and he’s going to come after us.” I spat through my teeth. He gripped at my shirt tighter, staring more intensely in my eyes. “Put it back” I whispered.
“No” he said, getting in the van.
I stood still where I was, not knowing what to do to make him see he was being crazy. Everyone else stared at us, I looked at my brother, the sting of tears creeping up on me without my permission. I choked out a sob I didn’t want to come out. I knew I had to say it or this was going to be bad.
“JJ” I said, turning to look at him.
“I’m not putting it back!” he yelled.
“Put it fucking back or we’re done!” I screamed, the tears starting to leak down my face.
Everyone gasped behind me, JJ’s eyes widening. I stood my ground, the adrenaline still pumping in my system caused my whole body to start shaking.
“Please JJ, put it back. I can’t lose you, please” I whispered, the tears coming down harder.
“Fuck this” JJ scoffed, he got out of the van and started walking away from us.
My heart shattering, I was losing the love of my life. But, I knew even in a fucked up way, this was all from a place of love. He was reacting because we were threatened, and a gun was pointed at all of our heads. I started after him, but my brother stopped me with an arm going around me.
“JJ!” I sobbed, leaning on my brother. He turned me around, my head going into his neck as I cried.
“Let’s go bubba” John B said, pushing me to the van. John B drove while I took the passenger seat. I got out my cigarettes, chain smoking them the whole way home trying to ease the pain in my heart.
Later that evening:
I blew up JJ’s phone the minute we got home from Barry’s, worry pooled deep in my stomach. I knew he was going to take that money to his dad, and who knows what the hell they’d do with it. I cried in my brother’s and Sarah’s arms for hours, regretting everything I said to JJ.
“I just wanted him to see how unreasonable he was being, I didn’t think he’d actually take it seriously” I sobbed, Sarah ran her hands through my hair.
“He knows that Bubba, he was acting out of anger. You know he loves you.” John B said.
“What if his dad does something to him?! Oh god, I’d never forgive myself Birdie!” I screamed out, jumping up off the couch. I ran to the door, grabbing the keys.
“Bubba!” John B yelled, him and Sarah following after me.
“Where are you going?” Sarah asked.
“I’m going to get JJ” I stated.
They both piled into the van, I pounded my foot on the gas. We were half way there when two motorbikes pulled up.
“Pull the fuck over!” one of them said.
I slammed the gas harder, the guy pulling in front of the van, and I had to slam on the breaks to keep from hitting them. The man took his helmet off, and none other than Rafe fucking Cameron was the one driving.
“Let me handle this” Sarah said.
I ignored her, slamming the door shut. I walked up to Rafe and shoved him as hard as I could.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!” I screeched.
“Nice to see you too little Pogue” he smirked.
“What the hell Rafe?” Sarah said.
“Ahhh my beloved little sister” he said.
“Cut the shit Rafe, what do you want” I asked through my teeth.
“I want a lot of things from you little Pogue, but now’s not the time for that. What I’m really here for is to ask why you all thought it was a good idea to steal from a drugdealer.” Rafe said. Sarah and I looked at each other, my fist balled up.
“We didn’t take anything” I said.
“You don’t have to pretend with me, but you should know...Barry is a bad man. He has connections everywhere, and he’s going to come after you all” he said.
“Well thank you for almost dying just to tell us something we already know dumbass” I said, crossing my arms over my chest.
“You misunderstand me little Pogue. He knows Maybank has the money, so he’s going to take YOU as his prize.” Rafe said.
“I’d like to see him try” I said. “I can handle myself quite well with the amount of times I’ve beat your ass huh Rafe?” I asked, smirking at my last statement.
“If you don’t want your friends to die Sarah, you best be getting that money” Rafe said to Sarah.
All of the sudden, we see a van pull up. Men rushing out, heading for me and Sarah.
“Shit” I said.
“Hey! I said not my sister!” Rafe yelled.
Sarah and I bolted back to the van, men getting a hold of us almost instantly.
“JB!” I screamed for my brother. I saw him run to the back of the van, he pulled the gun I took from Barry out and rang out a shot.
“I suggest you let both my sister and my girlfriend go, or I’m going to blow each of your fucking brains out.” my brother said, deadly calm.
That bought me enough time to elbow the guy that had a hold of me, turning around and punching him in the face. Another trying to grab me, but I kicked my leg out and hit him right where it counts. After Sarah and I got free, we got in the van and I got us out of there. I couldn’t go to JJ’s now because it would lead Barry’s men right to him.
“We have to move the gold tonight, with or without JJ” I said, speeding back to the chateau.
I suddenly got a text from JJ, telling me to meet him at the house. My eyes widened at the message, I sped faster to get to him. We got home and it was completely dark out now. I instructed my brother to get the stuff ready so we could move the gold. Suddenly, a shit ton of fairy lights came on all around the chateau.
“The hell?” I said, looking around. I spotted a huge ass hot tub in the middle of my yard, my mouth fell open.
“A jet is going right up my butt babygirl” JJ slurred. He was drunk off his ass, sunglasses sitting low on his nose.
“JJ, what the hell is all this?! How much did this cost?! How did it get here?!” I started asking a million questions to which he shook his head at me.
“Baby, it doesn’t matter. Come on get in with me!” he said, waving his hand at me.
“JJ, this is insane...seriously how much was all of this?” I asked.
“Well, let’s see. I had express delivery, had to buy the gas, and the lights. So....all of it” he said nonchalantly. My eyes were so wide I’m sure they would have popped out of my head.
“WHAT?!” I screeched. “JJ!” I yelled at him.
“Sweets, it’s fine. I bought this for us! Our friends,no fuck that this is our family.” he said.
“JJ...this is not ok! You could have at least used that to pay your restitution! Or literally anything remotely helpful!” I shouted.
“Ok well I didn’t!” he said, standing up.
His whole stomach was covered in huge bruises, I stared at them. My poor JJ, just wanting acceptance and love. No matter how hard I tried, he would always still look for it from his dad, and when he did, it resulted in another bruise.
“Baby” I croaked, my hand going over my mouth.
“Now stop all the emotional shit! Get in! I mean it’s sweet right?” he said, finally starting to break down.
I ran to him, getting in the tub and throwing myself into his arms. He broke down completely, body racking sobs escaping from his chest. I held on to him, singing our song softly in his ear. He cried hard, holding me so tight it was almost I struggle to breathe. When he calmed a little he spoke softly to me.
“Will you sing another song for me baby?” he asked. I started singing another song. The sobs coming again from him, shaking me with him.
“Come on baby, let’s go inside” I said softly to him.
We got out, heading inside. I got him in the shower and cleaned him off. I applied some cream to his cuts and made him take some medicine for the pain. We sat on my bed beside each other.
“I almost killed him” JJ muttered, a silent tear rolling down his face.
“Honey” I mumbles, running my hands through his wet hair.
“I just want to do the right thing for once sweets” he said, putting his head in his hands.
“I know you do sweetheart, it’s ok” I said, pulling him to me. His head landing on my chest. I combed my hands in his hair, getting rid of the knots that already started to form.
“No it’s not! I’m such a fuck up! I’m so sorry baby, I hurt you. I lost it and I hurt you.” he cried into my chest, his arms going around my waist.
“It’s ok baby, we were both mad and I said things I didn’t mean” I said.
“You’re right. I fuck everything up just like my dad. I’m becoming just like him” he muttered.
“JJ Maybank, do you really think I would let that happen?” I asked.
“You’re going to get tired of me eventually. You can’t fix me.” he said.
“JJ, I love you. And I know you love me. I know in my heart, that you are a good fucking person. And I’ll be damned if you or anyone tries to tell me any different.” I said, now my turn to start crying. “I want you, all of you. The good and the bad.” I said, quoting him.
“I just blew 25k on a fucking hot tub! I could have done something to help us and I bought a hot tub!” he yelled, pushing away from me. He turned and planted his feet on the ground, his elbows on his knees, and his head going in his hands.
“Well maybe we can sell it.” I said.
“It doesn’t change anything! Barry is going to come after us and it’s my fault! I should have listened to you! I was just so mad, and scared. Mad that fucker had a gun pointed at my girl and my friends. Scared because now people know the gold is real and that we have it. FUCK!” he screamed, punching the pillow.
“We’ll figure it out! We always do..we knew this shit was going to be dangerous, My dad died for this gold.” I said, rubbing his back.
“We need to find somewhere to get this gold cashed, and get out of the country” JJ mumbled.
