something that i think a lot of people forget these days and that i think a lot of stupid discourse could be easily resolved by remembering is that gay marriage literally has not even been legal in the us for even 10 years yet

#like theres so much great progress thats happened over these years but #there are people who dont only know the word Faggot as a cool punk reclaimed identity #there are people who still get literal ptsd flashbacks to being violently beaten while having slurs like that thrown at them #and i know policing how people identify and describe themselves is absolutely NOT cool like trust me i mainly identify my gender as a fag 2 #but we gotta stop pretending like Slurs arent Slurs due to their very recent violent history #just like . idk keep that in mind #and telling other lgbt people who havent overcome their trauma yet that theyre regressive and homophobic because of it is … regressive and h #omophobic #But i guess the blame for that ones on me for assuming this site has any sense of Nuance #‘and why is this post so americacentric’ because im american and im talking about my experiences amonf other american queers and lgbt ppl
