38. Have you ever purposefully written something you know your readers would find uncomfortable/would not enjoy? If yes, why?

my yan!gojo dead dove fic !! i knew the subject matter wasn’t for everyone and it definitely had the possibility of making people uncomfy, but i had a desire branch out and write darker content and i knew that i wanted it to involve satoru. im so drawn to dddne content and ive always wanted to give it a try.

i was so so nervous about how people would react to it that i gave up on it twice and debated on even releasing it, in general. after letting it stew for like three weeks i knew i had to see it through (that and my dear friend and loml @remlionheart quite literally forced me to finish it—she stayed up until 3am helping me proofread and edit 🥺).

i was also scared about how people would feel about me writing satoru in such a dark way. but in the end, it ended up being my most popular fic, and i couldn’t be more grateful for all the love, support and feedback i got on it.

after i finished it, i realized that it’s easier for me to write creepy characters and darker themes rather than “regular” fics. for some reason they just flow better for me. building suspense and adding little easter eggs and obscure callbacks to other details in the story— i really enjoyed the whole writing process.

i’m happy that i saw it thru because it challenged my writing style and allowed me to branch out ☺️
