Heeseung holds your hand tightly, not wanting to let go of your hand.

“C’mon! We should totally visit the new ice cream shop” he pleaded, how could you say no to this man? In fact you can’t, with some exceptions of course.

“Fine, we can’t be out too late anyways” you said staring right at him before he pecks your lips, he drags you towards the entrance of the ice cream shop. Upon arrival you’re met with the sight of many flavors, shocked at the many choices laid right in front of you.

Heeseung leads you to a table, he pulls out the chair, taking a seat he says, “I’ll order for the both of us.” You nodded your head as you watched him walk away. Admiring him from afar, the story of how you met wasn’t like any other.

It started as any normal day, classes went well, just your usual routine. A part of that routine was heading to the library, usually studying the material you learned that day. Or for any upcoming test. Opening the door, and entering the library. You take a seat right next to this stranger, surprisingly the tables were stacked with students occupying them. You don’t know how it happened, you got up to look for a textbook like normal. It did take you a little while to find the right one. Before eventually returning back to your seat.

When returning, your laptop was closed for some reason. Odd? You didn’t close yours. The seat next to you was empty. You shrug it off, opening the laptop you’re met with an unfamiliar name. “Lee Heeseung”

“Who is Lee Heeseung?” You thought to yourself. You move the mouse on the touchpad before realizing, wait, you have his laptop? How did this happen? Did he happen to leave with yours? You hear a slight snicker seeing a group of friends laughing. Did they do this? You weren’t one to assume. You just close the laptop before leaving the textbook and just leave for the day.

Heeseung was studying for his upcoming exam. Surprisingly, he never studies, only this time because he wasn’t going to fail this exam, not especially after what happened last time. He would want to erase that moment forever. Heeseung notices a presence next to him. Someone sat next to him. He didn’t mind and just continued to study. He notices the person getting up and watches them leave before deciding himself that this was enough studying for today. He closed his laptop and got up, returning the many textbooks he used in the study session. He comes back to his spot, packing up and finally grabs the laptop. He makes his way out.

The walk back to his dorm wasn’t so long; having to live on campus was one blessing for times like this. Not having to drive home. As soon as he gets inside he unpacks and sets the laptop on his desk. Laying on the bed exhausted. He wants to go to sleep, but he remembers about a question he has and quickly gets up. Wanting to email his professor. He opens the laptop to be met with a wallpaper that he knew wasn’t his. He always had his wallpaper as the default wallpaper. He takes note of the stickers on it too. Something is definitely wrong. This is not his.

He presses the spacebar, popping up the login screen. “Yn..” who is yn? And does this person have his laptop? No!? What if they find out his password!? He panicked a bit before texting his friends.

So the next day, it was Sunghoon’s mission to ask you if you had Heeseung’s laptop. You sat in your spot like normal before being approached by him. You raised your brow at him. “What’s up?”

“Oh hey yn umm do you perhaps have a guy named Heeseung’s laptop?” You replied fast “yes yes does he have mine I need it quickly I can’t live without it..” Sunghoon looked at your surprise. “Damn you are like the same person I swear.. anyways here’s his number um you can text him anytime you want.” You take the small slip of paper before seeing his number. “Thank you.”

After that incident, feelings were developed along the way. You both continued to talk. Heeseung would even join you in your study sessions. Literally only for you. That happened 2 years ago. So much has happened since then.

“Hello? Sweetheart, are you still there?” A voice cuts off your thoughts. “I-uh huh?” You look at him. “I’ve been calling you for a minute now, what’s up?” You get a bit embarrassed. “Oh nothing, just daydreaming..”

Heeseung smirks while taking a seat in front of you. “Whatcha daydreaming of? Me?” He teased handing you your ice cream. “No never” he sulked, pouting his lips slightly. “I’m kidding, maybe I did” you giggled at his reaction. “You and your so called jokes” he rolls his eyes. “Yeah and you still love me” you keep your eyes on him. “Yes I do and it won’t change.” Heeseung grabs your hand before placing a kiss on it. “Now eat up..”

heaters out: noah x reader

Just some fluff about you and Noah dealing with a little power outage during your weekend away.

“Its freezing, Noah can you check make sure the heater is on please?” you ask from the bundle of blankets you’re buried under on the bed. Noah surprised you by whisking you away for the weekend to a secluded bed and breakfast in th mountains.

“Oh shit.” You hear noah mumble from the other side of the room. “Umm, I think the power is out. Let me run down to the front desk and ask really quick.” He runs over to where you’re huddled and gives the top of your head a kiss before quickly exiting.

You get out of bed to add more layers on, one of Noahs hoodies he brought back from tour and a second pair of fuzzy socks you packed. Hoping back under your mountain of covers you wait for Noah to get back. Several minuets pass and Noah returns with a bundle of fire wood, more blankets and a thermos of something.

“Well a few things.” He begins. “The power is out and we are snowed in for at least the next day or two until the snow plows can get up to clear the roads. Good news is I have firewood, more blankets and hot chocolate.” He throws the blankets onto the already comically large lump on the bed and sets to building a fire in the fire place. Thats the great thing about staying in cute bnb’s like this. Each room has a beautiful fire place but unfortunatly the electrical work is old and apparently prone to outages when the snowfall is heavy.

Crawling out of the cave of blankets, you move to sit on the small loveseat next to Noah as he pours two mugs full of steaming hot chocolate. “There is also a huge collection of games down in the library if you want me to beat you at monopoly again.” Noah jokes and you knock into his shoulder “hey! You totally skimmed from the bank last time.”

The two of you laugh as you warm up by the fire and drink the delicious chocolaty beverage that heats you from the inside out. “This is the best hot chocolate i’ve ever had.” You groan as you finish the last sip. Noah grabs a blanket off the the bed and you cuddle closer together, watching the fire shift in orange and reds and hear the wood crack and splinter. “They said they’d bring some more wood when it’s closer to dinner time so we should stay plenty warm tonight.” Noah tells you. We spend most of the day cuddled and reading by the fire.

Before dinner, which is soup the owner of the air bnb cooked over the fireplace in the main room. We played a game of monopoly like Noah suggested and he beats you. “How!? How are you so good at this game? You- you capitalist!” You joke and he holds his hand to his chest, gripping his heart. “Capitalist? I resent that, I’m just a master strategist.” You roll your eyes and laugh “okay, okay, but next time I get to pick the game.” He holds out his hand to shake and says “you got a deal.”

“Perfect. Strip poker it is.” His eyes widen and then he gets knowing look in his eyes. “You’re just trying to get me naked arent you? Last poker night you nearly got Jolly to bet the keys to his new car.” You both laugh because you’ve always won when you played poker. “What can I say, I guess I’m just lucky.” He leans over the small table you were playing at and kisses you softly. “I think I’m the lucky one.”

After eating you decide to both bundle up and go on a walk in the snow.

“Wow, it's so beautiful. I haven’t seen snow like this since I was a kid” you pick up some of the snow in your hands and ball it up tight. Noah is looking out onto the snow covered field so he doesn’t see you when you wind up to lob a snowball right into his left shoulder.

“oh! It’s on now!” He exclaims as he rushes to make his own snowball to throw in retaliation. The two of you spend the next 20 minutes until the sun has begun to set, throwing snowballs at each other until you start to feel the cold sneaking into your coats.

“Okay, time to go in and warm up” Noah says as he wraps his arms around your shoulder and ushers you back inside the bnb.

Heading back up to the room you get inside and quickly remove the first layer of our snow covered clothes. Hanging them to dry on the coat rack while Noah goes to start up the fire again.

In your warmest pajamas you sit cuddled on the love seat in front of the fireplace as Noah opens the bottle of wine the owner gave him after dinner and pours you each a glass. “This, along with the fire should warm us up pretty fast.” I comment as I take a sip of the silky red liquid. “I can think of a few other ways we could warm up.” Noah says in a sultry voice as he leans to place a soft kiss to my neck.

Fluffcember Day Twenty Three: Confessions

🎄 You stare in horror as soon as you walk through the door.

🕊️ Everything is in pure and utter disarray– things had been knocked over, broken and scattered across the room as if a tornado had torn through it.

🪽 A scuffed up looking Sloan greets you from around the corner of the living room.

⛄️ "Oh my God!" You rush to make sure they're okay.

❄️ Blood drips from their nose and one of their eyes is starting to become swollen and black.

☕️ "Are you okay?" You hug them close, and they groan from the embrace, but manage to hug you back regardless.

🍪 Your grip on them instantly lightens up so you don't hurt them any further.

🎁 "What happened?!" You pull back only to cup their face with your mitten adorned hands.

💫 "Uhhh... break in. I'm okay, though!" They smile at you.

🔔 No further chipped teeth– that's good at least.

🎄 "Sorry about the house." They add.

🕊️ "House? I don't care about the house! You're bleeding!" You frown heavily and rush them off to the bathroom.

🪽 At least everything in there was relatively normal.

⛄️ You dab their nose and clean up their face with a warm washcloth and place antibiotic on their scuffs and scrapes.

❄️ "Oh!" You remember that your nose plug you use from your summer swimming sessions are in one of the cabinet drawers.

☕️ You fetch them immediately, pinching them over their nose.

🍪 "You're so smart." They smile.

🎁 "Thanks." You kiss their forehead. "Maybe a little bit of an over thinker, too."

💫 The next few minutes are spent cleaning up the mess in the living room.

🔔 Nothing had been stolen– despite the ransacking, money was still in its proper place and all the valuables you own were practically untouched.

🎄 "What could they possibly have wanted, I wonder?" You think aloud.

🕊️ "Mmh." They look down with an expression of guilt.

🪽 You ruffle their espresso colored curls affectionately to try and cheer them up.

⛄️ "I have a confession–" They nasally admit.

❄️ You're quiet as they continue speaking.

☕️ "It was Talon." They don't look at you.

🍪 The possibility of putting you in danger weighed on their heart a little too much.

🎁 If it had been you alone instead of them, there's no telling what could have happened.

💫 A smile spreads across your face. You lean in and hug them lightly for extra comfort.

🔔 "Don't feel bad." You rub their back in an attempt to cheer them up. "You did good fending them off."

🎄"I don't feel comfortable with you staying home alone anymore." They nestle into your form and close their eyes.

🕊️ "I know. We'll do things together from now on. Sound good?" You offer.

🪽 They nod.

⛄️ "Alright. No more worries, okay?" You give them a quick nuzzle and go back to cleaning up.

❄️ They help as much as they can– but their body is physically exhausted from so much fighting.

☕️ You're not concerned about that in the slightest. You just want them to rest and get better more than anything.

🍪 Besides, it doesn't take too long to get everything relatively normal looking again.

🎁 The smaller details could be worked on later. For now, everything was fine as it was.

💫 You cuddle up to them on the couch after fetching an ice pack for their black eye from the kitchen.

🔔 "Feeling any better?" You take off the nose plugs to check on the bleeding.

🎄 "Looks like it's stopped– good!" You murmur to yourself.

🕊️ "I've been through worse. I'll be back on my feet in a couple days! Promise!" They grin at you again.

🪽 You place a kiss to their cheek.

⛄️ "I'm sure." You place your hand over their free one. "Now, how about a movie?"

❄️ "Sounds good! Maybe a pizza, too?" They ask.

☕️ "Already on its way." You assure them.

🍪 They lean back into the couch and let out a content sigh.

I love that it’s so pretty and fluffy, but also sometimes it wet and cold and sticky

I love making snowmen when it’s good packing snow and I love throwing snow in my friends’ faces when it’s powdery snow and I love carving shapes in the thin layer of ice on top and trying to hold the biggest piece of ice without it breaking when the snow is frozen on top

And I love kicking slush along the road and I love trying to make the roundest snowball

And I love making a snow person then taking your water bottle and pouring water all over it at the end of the day, then checking it the next morning to see if it froze

And I love the relief you felt when you were a kid and went to check the snow boulder you made in the school yard and seeing that the older kids didn’t destroy it

And I love kids rolling snow balls through the school yard to make boulders for their fort

And I love watching the snow fall, and trying to catch it on your tongue

I love going on winter walks with my family and watching my brother laugh at the yellow snow

I love having snow ball fights in the front yard with my dad and brother

I love looking at the lake at the cottage and the snow my uncle cleared away so me and my brother could skate

I love playing road hockey and hearing my dad jokingly threaten to throw my cousins in the snow bank

I love watching my dad and my sister argue over who would win a race between them, just for them to start running through the snow trying to tackle each other

I love watching my dogs roll around in the backyard, and my cat try to escape through the front door, but when she touches the snow she immediately jumps back inside

I love going inside after playing in the snow for hours and finding that my mum has already made hot chocolate, and we all sit in front of the fire and watch a movie together

I love snow so much

While I know what snow is conceptually, the snow we get is like maybe an inch, 2 if its a wild year. We mainly get Ice™️.

Reading this helped me fall in love with snow, though. I mainly see it in like movies or Christmas rom-coms. So it's a level of separation that feels fake, but the picture you painted made me wish we had the snow you do. The fondness that pours throughout your writing makes me fond and nostalgic for something I never had.
