on your finger lays a beautiful golden ring, a promise that you would soon become his property forever… it's not like you weren't already; you belong to shelby from the moment he laid his eyes on you and worked hard to conquer you. the ring was simply a promise to make it official.

you two were engaged, but he already presented you to everyone as his beautiful wife.

sometimes you even thought you might forget your own name since everyone called you "shelby's girl."

the gypsy was proud that everyone knew their place well. no man who wanted to keep his eyes spent more than five seconds looking at you, not if they truly valued their lives.

there were many bad men outside, many dangerous people who would not hesitate to hurt you to get to him... that's why he was always watching you, keeping you close where his eyes could see you.

everyone knew their places, except for someone: his damn cousin.

michael was centimeters from your body, making some jokes that he couldn't hear due to the distance in which he was from the two of you, but jokes that made you laugh out loud.

his hand clenched tightly around his glass of whiskey, watching the exchange of laughter between the two of you.

no one at the party had noticed his anger, except arthur. his brother looked at him seriously, giving him a nod, showing him that he also understood what was happening.

he thought it was enough.

thomas slammed the glass hard on the table and seriously addressed you, the music ringing in his ears with annoyance.

as soon as he reached you, his hand went to your hip. "doll." he said, squeezing the skin that your dress hid. "michael." he greeted his cousin too.

"cousin." gray greeted, making a grimace with his mouth that imitated a smile.

"is something wrong, love?" your sweet and naive voice reaches his ears and made his serious gaze finally detach from his relative and address you.

"no. just wanted to be close to my wife." he responded, smiling at you for a second before turning completely serious again and looking back at michael.

the youngest noticed how thomas's hand on your hip went down to your ass and stayed there, holding his palm firmly against you.

"you should go, michael." shelby spoke again. "gina was looking for you." his eyes and hard expression told gray everything he needed to understand, and the boy looked into his eyes for a moment before nodding.

"see you, mrs shelby." he murmured in a tone of voice that you couldn't understand but thomas did. he fucking did understand.

when you were both finally alone, you turned to look at thomas with a smile, totally naive and oblivious to everything that was happening.

his blue eyes looked at you fondly, with desire. you couldn't help but leave a small kiss on his nose, watching him smirk.

"my wife." your fiancé uttered, giving you a squeeze. "i can't wait for everyone to leave so i can have my doll all to myself."

#AྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིVENTURINE ⇢ “so what if i’m crazy? the best people are”

。no literally 。this man has no shame at all. he’d give you the widest smirk in the world, staring at you straight in the eyes with those intimidating eyes of his while carelessly wiping off some blood from his expensive attire. 。“oops, you caught me.” 。it would be rather unsettling about how unfazed he is. when you call him a murderer and all sort of insults you can think of, he’d just laugh and tell you it’s all part of the ‘game’ you two were in. 。he’d love the horrified look on your face, though, so do be prepared for now intentional bloody corpses anywhere you go. 。aventurine himself knows what he’s doing is wrong. unlike a certain someone but he will submerge the voice of reason inside him if it means that it’s needed for his ‘end goal’ — which is securing you all to himself. he knows you’re breaking him apart, ruining his mind with your thoughts that gnaw on his morals like parasites, but at some point he had just decided to succumb to it. after all, he does not have anything left to yearn for if you’re gone. 。it is almost like he clings to you for his own sanity, ironically enough. you are the cause of him breaking down and yet you are also the one who lets him know why he’s still alive, so for him, killing someone is equal to reminding himself about what he’s living for. 。this gambler won’t know when to stop— he relishes in the thrill of it, he even likes getting caught by you. his sick mind thinks it’s hilarious.

“YOU DON’T have to stare at me that much,” aventurine chuckles.

how could you not, with the obvious residue of blood splattered all over him, he doesn’t even bother wiping it off. the dim candlelights flicker to illuminate your mortified face, because the seat that was occupied moments ago before you excused yourself to get something, was now empty. your dinner date with your friend was cancelled by force.

the man in front of you carelessly slides the scarlet chair out to sit in the formerly occupied place, the chair making an ugly creak as he does, crossing his legs- leaning back leisurely as he smiles at you through despicable eyes.

“i know my attire is ravishing tonight, but please, feel free to order anything else.” he gestures to the spread menu. you can’t even touch it with the substance that contaminated it, no, contaminated the whole table you were sitting in— the angelic white rose jar decoration is broken and red is bleeding into their fragile petals, the ravishing steak is inedible, broken utensils are scattered everywhere on the luxurious tiles of the restaurant, and it’s eerily quiet except for the soft romantic jazz that echoes creepily across the silence.

when you try to leave- to get away from this insane monster that is him, he stops you and pouts, telling you he’s waited for so long, surely they could have an impromptu date. you were his fiancé, it was natural for him to want to treat you to dinners alone- he’d say with a chuckle.

“dates out of the blue are always fun, don’t you think?” he would say with a smile as he eats the steak without caring much about the taste- he has his pretty princess all to him, that’s what matters more. that should be the only thing that matters.

#SྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིྀིUNDAY ⇢ justifies himself

。this paranoid and obsessive man will have the most difficulty suppressing his desire to make a complete massacre 。he just can’t stand seeing someone even close to you. but as the head of the oak family, he’s also the most reputable person so he cannot risk that to succumb to his needs. 。he still will though, just not obviously. his murders are calculated and too well-woven to be suspicious of from the public eye, he knows how to pin crimes on someone else and it’s certainly not his first time doing this. 。when you raise eyebrows- he’d smile and laugh about how you’d think such lowly of him. he was your sweetheart, so you didn’t think much of it either. 。“please, love. now im quite offended.” 。he was definitely pondering over how you caught up though, so he’s going to put in extra effort to cover his tracks. 。but there’s times he loses his composure and doesn’t bother to cover up his crimes. he snaps, letting go of the thin string of sanity that held him together- and when you see that, he’d suddenly go all sweet, cooing to you that this was all for your own good. 。“they were hurting you, angel. hurting you. you’ll never be heartbroken again, not in my arms.” 。sunday is a master manipulator. human emotions are something he has dealt with tons of times. he will know what to say and what to do to pull on your cogs as if he’s performing clockwork. 。when even his reasoning and silver tongue doesn’t work on you- he would hate to do it, he doesn’t want to artificially make his darling, but for the greater good, he would, brainwash you. like mentioned, he’s a firm believer of the end justifies the means.

STANDING upon you is a fallen angel with his attire drenched with blood that isn’t his. you can tell with the way his pristine gloves are stained to oblivion.

you see his business smile crack slightly when he sees you standing in the doorway, horrified. “apologies,” sunday says with a smooth voice, but his eyes waver a little, but soon harden- as if there’s a completely rational reason why he has done whatever he did to your poor friend that was waiting for you in your room.

“what…?”

his cold eyes suddenly melt at your mortified look- he sighs with condescension, as if somehow you’re the one in the wrong. “it’s my sincere apologies i intruded your room without warning, but I must say, the situation was rather… suspicious, hm?” he slowly walks towards you- every step pronounced and clicking against the tiles as if death is knocking on your door.

“another man sitting in the bed we share? I don’t think that’s appropriate, don’t you think?” he’s close enough to push you onto the wall- blocking your escape route. “isn’t he the same person who forgot to send you presents on your birthday?”

sunday doesn’t actually care about the presents part- he was the one who discarded his gift before you could get it, anyway. he’s using it as an excuse to reprimand you.

“y-yes, but that’s not an excuse to—“

“ah ah, I don’t think there’s much of an excuse to make here. you’re dodging the point. tell me, am i not enough for you?” his sickly sweet voice isn’t paired with the sweetest gesture- in fact, you can feel his stained hands press your neck ever so slightly.

you have no other choice but to say you’re sorry- begging him that you really weren’t cheating on him; and it was just an unfortunate coincidence your friend was on the bed. every time you pleaded, he’d sigh and shake his head as if he’s giving in to your desperate begging to not leave you here alone, but inside, his heart pounds with delight seeing you break down and lose your reason.

“oh, you pathetic little dove. always needing someone to protect her from evil.” his hands caress your head, leaning into you to envelop you in a tight embrace he doesn’t plan to let go of. “you keep trying to fly away, yet you know nothing about the world around you.”

your pleas echo louder as his fingers touch your lips, stinging your nose with the metallic smell on them, and he pulls you in for a kiss that makes you choke, his tongue intruding your mouth that spills out drops of saliva from the lack of breath.

“—so I’ll make you a lovely cage, sweetheart.” he whispers against your lips, smiling through his devilishly handsome gaze before devouring them once more.

𓈒ㅤׂ 𝜗𝜚 YOU were pretty sure you’d been in love with your best friend, suna rintarou, ever since middle school. 

ever since you knew him, actually— the feelings didn’t make sense to you until middle school. 

so why was this happening right now? why were you watching him ask out another girl? 

the sight in front of you was ugly, to you at least. your best friend, with some nobody. her jarring giggles were filling your ears and all you could see was red– after so many years of secretly pining for suna, your bottled up feelings manifested to this, and you couldn’t take another second of it; you turned on your heel and ran from the corridor where it was all going down. for a second, suna looked back at you, his eyes flashed with concern, before he turned to the girl in front of him. 

“yeah, uh.. tomorrow.” he muttered, scratching his head. she looked sickeningly happy. 

“don’t forget, okay?” she giggled again before skipping off. as soon as she was out of sight, suna ran after the same corridor you ran down, and tried to catch up to you.

but he didn’t. after that day, he didn’t get the chance to talk to you. you were always busy– truth is, you weren’t, but you couldn’t face suna. the last time you texted him was 2 weeks ago– a day before he started going out with his new girlfriend. it hurt, sure– it hurt a lot; but it was a conclusion you came to in the middle of the night: if you stayed near him any longer, you’d just hurt yourself more. and like that, 7 years of friendship, sweet as sugar, started to dissolve, leaving a bitter taste behind.

it was a day you weren’t in. suna was sitting with his team for lunch, and she just added herself on the end. but he wasn’t in the present– his mind was somewhere else. 

“hey, suna– what’re ya lookin’ at?” atsumu nudged his arm, his mouth full of onigiri.

“quit talkin’ with yer mouth wide open, it’s gross.” osamu kicked atsumu under the table; a small fight broke out between the two. 

suna was looking at where you and him used to sit before. “is [name] not in today?i haven’t seen her around,” he asked, not even thinking about what atsumu had asked him. 

with that, suna’s ‘girlfriend’ exploded– she stood up and started yelling, earning a crowd.

“do you not care for me?” the lunch hall was quiet. “you’re always on your phone and everything! why are you thinking of that girl from before when you have ME?!” 

atsumu and osamu stifled a laugh. 

suna stayed silent for a few moments, then he stood up as well, packing his bento. 

“yeah.. i didn’t really like you, i just didn’t wanna embarrass you in front of the school. but you dug this hole yourself, sorry.” the girl made some kind of sound, between a scoff and a gasp. 

“I hate you, rin!” she screamed to him, currently leaving the hall. he looked back, his expression venomous. “who said you could call me rin? that’s only for [name],” as he said that, there were a few “ooooo”’’s from the small crowd watching. 

atsumu and osamu let out their stifled laughs.

suna was walking the steps to your house like he had done so many times before, but this time something felt different. there was definitely something different– suna’d worked out his feelings, and he needed to tell you as quickly as he could. your parents weren’t at home– if you two were as close as you were before, he would’ve known why, and that hurt. 

his hand trembled a little as he rang the doorbell. as it opened, he caught sight of you– and that itself made his heart hurt more. 

– 

you weren’t expecting to see suna. 

“rin?” the nickname made him smile. 

“i broke up with her.” 

the sentence took a few seconds to register. 

“huh?”

suna closed the door behind him. “i broke up with her,” he treaded carefully. “i know i was a jerk for going out with her to begin with. [name], i realised i liked you all along.” you could feel tears well up in your eyes. 

“rin, i was fine— as long as you’re happy, i’m happy,” 

rin edged closer to you, you could feel his hand softly grab your wrist. 

“but i wasn’t happy— i’d only be happy if you stay with me.” sighing, he tried to think of some structure through the thoughts whirling in his mind. 

“can you- can you do that for me? i know im being selfish, but— [name], i don’t think i could… live any longer knowing you’re mad at me.” 

after hearing that, your tears were struggling to stay in— you tried to say something- anything, but your voice got caught in your throat. the confession suna had just laid for you, it was everything you’d wanted, for so long— but now, it was too much to take in. 

suna knew you for a long time, he knew your tells for when you were about to cry; he could tell you were on the edge. slowly, he ushered your head onto his shoulder. 

“rin, you jerk,” your voice came out muffled.

“i hate you!” there was no malice in that statement, the words were empty. 

he just held you in his arms. “i know, i know. can you forgive me?” 

hearing that, you raised your head a little, noticing the wet stain on suna’s jumper now. “i guess i can,” you started, your voice a little wobbly— but still with affection in it, “but only if you take me on a date. tomorrow.” 

suna’s eyes followed yours with a gentleness you never wanted to forget. “anything you want.”
