῾◞ eulogied / ft . thackery binx !
⌜ closed starter ⌟ * · ˚ FEAT. RENFIELD & BINX / @fairtaled .
Seldom knew of Binx’s full predicament. He thought it unwise to tell everyone he met of why he was running or who from, but there were a few individuals who seemed trustworthy enough. Were willing to pay enough attention. Would soothe Binx’s mounting anxiety. Renfield seemed like one such person; curious rather than repulsed, empathetic rather than indifferent. Yet the deeper he and Binx became entangled in one another’s lives, he couldn’t help but feel that Renfield was downright delighted by his immortality.
“My situation isn’t nearly as fun as you think it is,” Binx remarked. Nonetheless, he was draped over a chair in Renfield’s home and helping himself to a plate of fresh fruit. Beggars couldn’t be choosers, after all. He’d take what he could get. “What good is eternal youth when you’ve got no one to share it with?”
the boys story held his attention captive . he listened wholeheartedly, enthralled ever more by each additional detail, practically on the edge of his seat with a peculiar elation misplaced in a situation quite like this one . where others would feel sorrow, perhaps an ache of pity filling their chest for his shortcomings, he didn’t . he was by no means apathetic-- he felt for him, he did . he couldn’t hardly imagine the agony of what he had endured . but renfield was consumed by his excitement . he possessed what renfield had spent the best of his years searching to perfect in his own right, everything he aspired to gain from his mortal life . a new one, an eternity of vitality & youth . it was a morbid yearning no amount of reason; or help, as some have insisted, could deter him from . if there was one thing he was certain of, it was that whatever had led him here. . . it wasn’t without reason .
renfield considered it, but only for a fleeting moment before he deemed it a dreary perspective to uphold opposed to one of logic . ❛ i’d say that’s a rather absurd way of thinking about it . ❜ but hearing it from binx, he couldn’t be all too surprised . he was within reason to believe such a thing . his eyebrows furrowed together as he leaned back in his seat . one leg hooked over the other, his hands resting on his knee . ❛ eternity can promise many things . how can you be so sure your fate is one of solitude ? ❜
