The Lamborghini Countach: History, Generations, Specifications
All things Lamborghini Countach on Automobile.
Lamborghini Countach Essential History
Lamborghini Countach Origins The Lamborghini Countach was one of the last models to be built under the control of eponymous brand founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, in an effort to improve upon the comfort, eye appeal, and performance of the revolutionary Miura. In 1970, Project LP112 was the code name given to what would ultimately become the Countach, the final name chosen after a styling assistant uttered the Piedmontese term "contacc!"—an excited term of awe—upon seeing the final concept slated to debut at Geneva in 1971.
Nevertheless, it would take until 1974 for the production Countach LP400 to finally be ready. By then, Ferruccio Lamborghini's finances were looking dim, having both his tractor business and Lamborghini Automobili as well. He retired to the country to produce wine, while Lamborghini's new owners struggled to make the Countach a sales hit. By 1980, Lamborghini Automobili was in bankruptcy. When new owners came into the picture in 1982, the Countach was finally federalized for U.S. sales—a market that would come to be the automaker's largest.
Lamborghini Countach Evolution Through the years, the Countach was continually evolved. The earliest 1974 models, known as "Periscopio" for their unique periscope-style rear-view mirror setup, are the purest from a styling standpoint, without the cacophony of scoops, vents, wings, and flares that would come to epitomize the later cars. A Bizzarrini-designed 3.9-liter V-12 engine produced roughly 375 hp in a relatively light tubular space frame chassis designed by Paolo Stanzani. The frame was covered by striking wedge-shaped bodywork with futuristic scissor doors as styled by Marcello Gandini while at Bertone.
In 1978, the Countach LP400 S was introduced. Here we begin to see the styling take on extra flash with wider fender flares, wheels, and tires, and the introduction of the Countach's iconic and gargantuan V-shaped rear wing. Engine capacity was increased in 1982 to 4.8 liters, resulting in another name change to Countach LP5000 S.
Lamborghini Countach Final Years For 1985, the Countach LP5000 QV was introduced, QV standing for "quattrovalvole," or four-valve in Italian. True to its name, the now-5.2-liter V-12 was given a four-valves-per-cylinder head for increased efficiency, as well as another bump in output to 455 horsepower when equipped with six downdraft Weber carburetors (leading to these being commonly known as "Downdraft" cars), or 415 horsepower with the Bosch fuel injection U.S.-market cars received to meet Federal emissions standards. American-spec cars also got larger, heavier impact bumpers than their European counterparts. Arriving in 1988, the 25th Anniversary Edition Countach received an even more outrageous restyle by Horacio Pagani, who would go on to form his very own supercar company some years later. With an excess of dramatic styling strakes over gaping ducts and airfoils, the 25th Anniversary Edition Countach was often seen as a tribute to 1980s excess as well as a caricature of the earliest Periscopio models. The Countach was finally discontinued to make way for the Diablo in 1990.
Lamborghini Countach Highlights Although the Lamborghini Countach was unquestionably one of the premiere performance cars and styling sensations of its day, that still wasn't good enough for some elite enthusiasts. When Walter Wolf, owner of Formula 1 racing team Wolf F1 Racing, took delivery of his LP400 in the mid-1970s, he decided the car wasn't up to his expectations. Back it went to Lamborghini where a special 447-horsepower 5.0-liter V-12 went in the mid-mounted engine bay, while special styling modifications—including large fender flares and a rear wing—would foreshadow changes later made to the production Countach.
Additionally, while Ferruccio Lamborghini was famously uninterested in motorsports (costing him the employment of Gian Paolo Dallara as chief engineer), the Countach was used as the official safety car for the 1980-'83 Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 race weekend.
A Countach Evoluzione prototype was built by Lamborghini around 1987, which essentially served as an engineering exercise ahead of the development of the Countach's successor, the Diablo. This car heavily featured composite materials in its construction, had a unibody chassis which replaced the previous steel tube frame, and incorporated various aerodynamic improvements, some of which would be seen on the 25th Anniversary Edition of 1988-'90. An all-wheel drive powertrain was also tested, a nod to the all-wheel-drive Diablo variants to come. The single Countach Evoluzione that was built is no longer in existence.
Lamborghini Countach Buying Tips Lamborghini Countach values have swung wildly through the years. They hit rock bottom in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when many examples could be found for well under $100,000, but since then, and particularly in the past decade, values have ramped up yet again. Today, you'll pay the most for the rare, earliest "Periscopio" models for their clean design that best shows the car's original Gandini-penned vision. Conversely, the final 25th Anniversary Edition models have historically not been very desirable with their myriad tacked-on styling functions. The most popular models are typically the 5000 QV cars, which hit a sweet spot in styling, refinement and performance.

Lamborghini Countach FAQ
● Why Are Lamborghini Countach So Expensive? It's all about supply and demand. The Countach is a car that transcended car culture, venturing into pop culture. Because of this, the car's wild styling made it popular worldwide, but with under 2,000 built, there are only so many people that can own one. Besides that, the Countach is a special and highly significant supercar—another factor that helps keep values high.
● How Many Lamborghini Countaches Are Left? The Countach hails from a time when even advanced supercars didn't have electronic driving nannies to keep them on the road when driver input fails. As a result of this and their relatively high level of performance, you can bet that many were written off, never to be rebuilt. That said, high values mean it takes a lot of damage to total a Countach, meaning many cars have been salvaged into running, driving cars. We suspect that at least 1,500 Countach models still exist.
● How Much Is A 1989 Lamborghini Countach? A 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition is worth an average of $240,000 according to Hagerty. Early "Periscopio" cars can bring over $1 million, while a good 5000 QV from the mid-1980s is worth an average of $400,000. ทีเด็ดบ้านผลบอล

Volkswagen's Diesel V-8 Finds Its Hearse: The Touareg Last Edition
They're only making 400 more of the diesel V-8s before sending the engine to that great scrapyard in the sky.
Whether or not you believe Volkswagen has cleaned up its act in the wake of its diesel emissions cheating scandal, the company still sells diesel-powered cars in markets all across the world. In fact, the company has said 27 percent of all Volkswagens sold in 2018 ran on gasoline's unrefined counterpart. It is therefore safe to say VW still cares about its diesels, and now the automaker must mourn the death of one of those—its mighty diesel V-8. That makes this limited-edition Touareg SUV—the last to get the oil-burner V-8—a sort of hearse, right?
You remember the Touareg, don't you? VW hasn't sold the Touareg in the U.S. since 2016, when it was replaced by the Atlas, but the nameplate lives on elsewhere and is the brand's most expensive, most luxurious, and most tech-laden product. The aptly named Touareg Last Edition will be limited to just 400 units and will be powered by (you guessed it) VW's 4.0-liter, biturbo diesel V-8 making 415 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque. All that power and torque is routed through an 8-speed automatic to all four wheels.
Each of the Last Edition cars will be individually numbered, making each one unique. Six different paint colors (Pure White, Antimony Silver Metallic, Silicon Gray Metallic, Malbec Red Metallic, Deep Black Pearl Effect, and Oryx White Pearl Effect) are on offer, but all of the cars will come with a black accent package that nets a black-painted grille, window surrounds, door mirror caps, and wheel arch covers. Each Last Edition rolls on a set of black-painted 21-inch rims that help give the car a slightly more purposeful look.
All in all, the Touareg Last Edition looks like a fine way to say sayonara to the brand's diesel V-8—and if you're reading this in a market where they still sell the Touareg, you can order one of the 400 Last Edition starting on August 17.
This car is more than just a misty-eyed goodbye. It marks the end of an era for VW. Big diesel V-8s are simply unsustainable (even more so than the diesel V-10 long ago offered in the original Touareg), and that's why the new king of the VW SUV lineup is the Touareg R, a 465-hp plug-in hybrid that aims to carry Volkswagen's SUVs well into the future while being kinder to both the environment and the automaker's image. ทีเดดบอลเต็ง

Into DS SM? These Exotic French Concept Car Drawings Might Turn You On
Fifty years after the Citroën SM debuted, DS envisions what a modern SM might look like.
Citroën first took the wraps off of the jaw-dropping SM 50 years ago at the 1970 Geneva motor show, and the automotive world has never been the same since. The SM took the principles of Citroën's infamous and gorgeous DS and applied them to a Maserati-powered grand touring car. A French one.
With its 180-hp Italian-designed 2.7-liter V-6 engine, the front-wheel-drive SM sauntered to 60 mph in a manufacturer-estimated 8.2 seconds and on to a top speed of nearly 140 mph-plenty fast for the era. It didn't hurt that Citroën matched the SM's reasonable straight-line performance with attractive and aerodynamic bodywork, but clearly the latter was more the point of the SM. Not to mention, the SM's technology and complexity were as wowing as its styling.
Penned by Robert Opron, the SM's teardrop shape endowed it with an approximate coefficient of drag of 0.33. Accompanying its sleek shape were attractive design details such as a transparent cover for the headlights and front license plate, rear-wheel fairings, and a Kamm tail. The purposeful and handsome looks of the SM didn't go unnoticed either, and the French fastback's styling continues to influence modern automotive designers.
No surprise, then, that Citroën's standalone luxury division, DS, hopes to capitalize on the SM's acclaim by envisioning what a modern variant of the vehicle might look like. Rather than offer SM enthusiasts the chance to view one singular vision of a new-age SM, DS is giving devotees of the vehicle the opportunity to see six different design options.
Each sketch stems from the brand's Paris design studio, and SM fans are invited to log onto DS's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to vote on the winning design in a bracket-style competition. Alas, DS didn't announce what the winner of the competition receives, but it did share that those who participate in voting will get a signed print of one of these contemporary-looking SMs.
Frankly, we don't really care which design ultimately wins out, as we're just glad to get a look at what a modern SM might look like if it was reborn for the 21st century and to grab a signed print for ourselves. วิเคราะห์บอล

BMW Will Build the M3 Wagon You Want, But Can't Have (Literally)
We answer the question: Will BMW bring its first-ever M3 wagon stateside?
The BMW M3 has been around for more than 30 years, and in that time there have been sedans, coupes, convertibles, and even a pickup truck. (Google that last one if you don't believe us.) But one form the M3 has never taken? A factory-built BMW M3 Touring—that's a station wagon in BMW-speak. That changes now. BMW has officially confirmed that G80-generation BMW M3 will get a wagon variant in addition to the four-door sedan and closely related two-door M4.
Thankfully, it's not April 1, and BMW appears to be serious about finally making an M3 wagon. This is the kind of news hardcore BMW fans will be getting their M-branded underpants in a bunch for. To be fair, we're pretty excited by the idea of an M3 wagon, too. As of right now, the M3 will have the same 3.0-liter twin turbo inline-six found in the X3 M and X4 M crossovers that makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 horsepower; a switchable AWD system much like the one found in the M5; and it will retain the option for a manual transmission. That much we know, but what we don't know is this: Will BMW sell it in the United States?
Most luxury makes are starting to offer wagons here again, but they're trending toward lifted, Subaru Outback-style models. (See: the new Audi A6 Allroad, Volvo V90 Cross Country, and Mercedes-Benz E450 All Terrain.) The sporty 603-hp Mercedes-AMG E63S wagon, Audi RS6, and Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo S E-Hybrid are notable exceptions, however. That said, Mercedes enjoys unusually high levels of customer loyalty from its wagon customers (AMG or otherwise), who tend to be among the brand's wealthiest, and besides, it's special-order-only.
BMW doesn't sell any wagons here. And while the 3 Series wagon has been sold in the states before, but the current version of the long-roofed 3er isn't available to U.S. buyers (only the 3 Series sedan is). So, again, will the United States get the long-awaited M3 wagon? We reached out to BMW for comment with our fingers crossed, and, well, nope. The M3 Touring is not coming here. ทรรศนะบอลล่วงหน้า

Test Drive: One Week With the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line Shows the Car’s Strengths
If anyone still wants a sedan, this VW is one to get.
LOS ANGELES—When people ask me what my job is, I'm never quite sure what to tell them. I rarely use my official title, senior editor, because it's a bad habit in my industry that most writers are called editors. A lot of my colleagues use "automotive journalist," but I've never quite embraced it; when I think journalist, I think Woodward and Bernstein. "Car critic" is probably closest to the mark—like a movie critic or a food critic. The problem is that it sometimes rings hollow, specifically when there is a car about which I can offer no criticism. Such is the case with the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line I've just tested.
2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line: More Of The Same I'm sure I don't need to tell you the Passat has been a Volkswagen staple for decades. Back in 2012, VW split-off the North American Passat from the rest of the world, creating a bigger sedan that it built in its new factory in Tennessee. For 2020, the Passat got a "major-minor" update—basically new sheet metal (except the roof) and more equipment on the same old bones.
This drew criticism, because the new MQB platform, which underpins pretty much everything VW does, including the Jetta, Tiguan, Atlas, and Atlas Cross Sport, is a better-driving chassis. But that doesn't mean the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line's old platform is bad. Indeed, during my test of it, the 2020 Passat turned out to be nearly everything I expect from a German sedan: direct, engaging, and comfortable. The latter is particularly noteworthy, precisely because my tester was a top-of-the-range R-Line model with big 19-inch wheels which could have, but did not, degrade the ride quality.
Reining-In The 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line But I did say, "nearly everything I expect"? Because I managed to find one minor flaw: a bit of float over bumps at higher speeds. And higher speeds really were a bit of a problem for me. The 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line is powered by our old familiar friend, VW's 2.0-liter, turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder engine. (It's worth noting VW was an early adopter of the 2.0T format, and now that format is nearly universal.)
This faithful servant still delivers 174 hp, same as last year, but for 2020 VW bumped its torque, by 20 lb-ft, to 206. With its standard-fit six-speed automatic transmission, the 2020 Passat R-Line will get to 60 mph in a respectable 7.8 seconds, but it's the wall of torque (and, well, okay, perhaps a COVID-related lack of traffic) that got me in trouble—seems the Passat likes to sneak up past 80 mph, and that's where I started to feel the extra softness in the suspension. Not that I should be one to criticize—I too am showing softness with advanced age.
But the engine does return good fuel economy, and the big 18.5-gallon fuel tank, a relic from the days when the Passat was offered with a lusty-but-thirsty 280-hp V-6, gives it a nice long cruising range.
Inside, this 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line test-car is like a VW Greatest Hits album: Clear analog gauges (no video-screen dash option like on other VWs), three-dial climate controls, and a small but straightforward touchscreen stereo. Volkswagen installed a bunch of new safety tech for 2020, by the way; all Passats get collision warning with automatic braking and blind-spot monitoring, while the SE model and above get adaptive cruise, lane centering, and automatic high-beams
And let's not forget that old Passat staple, the limousine-sized back seat, which is one of the basic reasons why the North American Passat differs from the MQB-based car sold in other markets. God bless the cheeseburger!
The bottom line is, I've tested-driven and critiqued cars for a lot of years now, and when it comes to the basics of getting a family of four or five where they need to go, there aren't many cars that do it better than the Passat.
2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line: Where It Could Be Better Now, a lot of my fellow critics have found something to criticize—specifically the fact Volkswagen didn't move the Passat to that new MQB platform. No question there would have been advantages. I'm sure my one itty-bitty complaint about the ride could be ironed out, and the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line could probably get the fancy digital dashboard found in other VW models.
But I can also understand the reasons for sticking with the old platform, and they all come down to dollars and sense. Volkswagen has trumpeted its commitment to sedans in our market, but sedans are a dying breed, and we can understand the argument that it just doesn't make sense to sink too much money into the Passat.
And while the Passat isn't exactly a bargain—at least not at the higher trim levels—with a starting price below $24,000 and an all-in price of just more than $32,000, we can hardly accuse Volkswagen of price gouging. (Incidentally, in order to keep costs down, VW has gone the way of Honda: Most options have been eliminated, with the trim level--S, SE, R-Line, SEL--determining the Passat's equipment level.)
Well, it's true the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line might be a better car if it was on the MQB platform. Maybe it would be even more engaging to drive, or have a little more backseat room, or more up-to-date tech. Maybe it'd make a stronger stand against newer competitors like Toyota's Camry, Nissan's Altima, or Honda's crowd-pleasing Accord.
But the 2020 Volkswagen Passat driven for this test is solid—and this car critic simply can't find anything worthwhile to criticize.
2020 Volkswagen Passat Highlights New sheet metal on old familiar platform Strong 174-hp, 2.0-liter turbo engine Built in the U.S.
2020 Volkswagen Passat Pros: Family-friendly size Engine is powerful and economical Chassis is comfortable and engaging to drive Spacious back seat, generous trunk
2021 Volkswagen Passat Cons: None of significance ราคาบอล

The boffins (that's a British word for 'smart person') over at Q, Aston Martin's customization shop, recently got their hands on a 2021 Vantage and a 2021 DBS Superleggera for a new 007 Limited Edition to preview the new Bond film No Time To Die, and they look fantastic. Q has released a number of James Bond-themed cars over the years, but their newest work is some of their best to date.
The Vantage is the first half of this pair. It is an homage to the V8 Vantage from the 1987 Bond film, The Living Daylights that also features in the upcoming No Time To Die. Outside there's a new mesh grille with a chrome surround to evoke the style of the Vantage film car and features a dashed black and yellow diffuser, door sill, and front lip that ape the look of the missiles that poke out of the OG film car.
Speaking of skis, this special edition Aston can be optioned with limited edition skis and a special ski rack—we recommend opting for these even if you don't ski. Why? They're cool as hell, that's why. Cumberland Grey paint helps complete the exterior of this special Vantage.
Inside, the seats have been finished in black fluted leather as a nod to the upholstery in the original Vantage. There are also carbon fiber seat backs with a pattern of cello "f holes" as a more subtle reminder of the cello chase scene that the most hardcore Bond aficionados will remember.
Buyers can also spec a gadgets panel, just like the one from the film car. Though the new car doesn't come with any of the toys featured in the film, there are toggles for the rocket motor, missiles, lasers, a targeting display, and the ski outriggers. The Vantage comes with either a manual or an automatic gearbox, but if you opt for the auto the shift paddles feature crosshairs on them that allude to the missile guidance system in the film.
The special edition DBS featured here is coated in Ceramic Grey paint, while the roof, mirror caps, lips spoiler at the back, and diffuser are all finished in black-tinted carbon fiber. The Superleggera also comes with chrome "007" badging on the outside of the car to make it plain to everyone that you wish you were James Bond.
Just 100 units of this special edition Vantage will be made, while the DBS is limited to just 25. The Superleggera will be priced from $368,395 and the Vantage will start at $213,795. Both cars are on sale right now, and deliveries are expected to happen during the first four months of 2021. ผลบอลล่าสุด

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Xago Edition Puts the "Xago" In Hexagon, Or Something
Do you like six-sided things? This special-edition Lambo has plenty of 'em.
We live in a virtual world, and Lamborghini is celebrating this new reality with a very rare special edition with a name as weird as the one Elon Musk assigned to his kid on Twitter. Limited to ten customers who personalize their car virtually, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Xago Edition is easier to pronounce and features a hexagon-heavy design theme inside and out.
A fading hexagonal motif joins the fading hexagonal name ("Xago" is just, well, the middle part of the word "hexagon") and is splashed prominently across the sides of the Aventador, for starters. Why hexagons? Lamborghini apparently took inspiration from "the hexagon cloud shapes at the North Pole on the planet Saturn and the strength of the hexagon in nature." This "hexagonita" pattern complements a contrast color livery uniquely specified by the customer. Gloss black wheels finish off the exterior design.
Inside, the Xago Edition gets hexagon-themed seats and contrast color accents matching the exterior. A plaque denotes the production order of each car in the limited production series.
Helpful given the current state of world affairs, Lamborghini has created a new virtual customization studio allowing buyers to personalize their car without traveling to Italy or dealing with anyone in-person. After a virtual consultation, Lamborghini sends the buyer a full proposal, including renderings and material samples.
The Xago Edition is powered by Lambo's familiar naturally aspirated V-12 engine making 760 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. We're pretty sure that twelve-cylinder engine has a dozen round pistons beating away, not twelve hexagonal cylinders, by the way. Lamborghini also hasn't divulged how much the Xago Edition models will cost, but we can safely expect it to cost a pretty penny. As the most expensive vehicle in Lamborghini's regular production stable, the SVJ Roadster starts at $577,661, and it's easy to spend tens of thousands more when you add options or hexagons. ทรรศนะบอลวันนี้

New 2021 Mazda CX-5, CX-9, and 6 Carbon Editions Actually Look Great
The smaller Mazdas aren't part of the party.
Maybe we're in a mood, but Mazda's announcement of a slick-looking new Carbon Edition treatment for its CX-5 and CX-9 crossovers, plus the Mazda 6 sedan, seems predicated on a contradiction. How? Mazda claims each Carbon Edition "will feature a bold color scheme that helps represent individuality," while at the same time specifying that every single one will wear Polymetal Gray paint and have a red-colored leather interior.
So much for individuality, right? Okay, now that we've had our coffee, we'll point out that CX-5, CX-9, and Mazda 6 Carbon Edition buyers will enjoy some individuality relative to shoppers who take home a regular CX-5, CX-9, or 6. After all, the gray-over-red color combination is exclusive to the special-edition models, which also get black-painted wheels, black side-mirror caps, black honeycomb-pattern interior accents, and red accent stitching.
Mazda isn't talking details quite yet when it comes to each individual model, but from the broad-strokes version of its release, the Carbon Editions will sit near the tops of their respective lineups. They'll each get Bose audio systems, heated front seats, and i-Activesense active safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and automated emergency braking. Pricing and equipment specific to the 2021 CX-5, CX-9, and Mazda 6 Carbon Editions will be released closer to the models' on-sale dates.
Also, sorry 2021 Mazda CX-3, CX-30, Mazda 3, and MX-5 Miata buyers—no Carbon Editions for you! (Although we sure would dig a gray-over-red Miata.) On the other hand, the '21 CX-30 and 2021 Mazda 3 did receive updates. บ้านผลบอล888

Watch the Subaru WRX STI Obliterate Isle of Man TT Lap Record
A terrifying blitz through scenic Isle of Man
The Isle of Man TT course is not for the faint of heart. It's a rather terrifying blast through two-lane roads, slicing into tiny towns, mountains, and sweeping pastures. The surface is uneven, the roads are claustrophobic, and the competing vehicles are extremely fast. This nerve-wracking environment didn't discourage Subaru, however, who just announced a highly-modified WRX STI broke the course record by an astounding two minutes.
As you might expect, the STI used in the record run is far from stock. Not much technical info was provided, but Subaru claims the weaponized WRX STI packs 600 hp from a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four engine, not the 2.5-liter engine U.S.-spec STIs get. With a weight right around 2,590 pounds, and a top speed of 180 mph, the STI cracked the TT course in a scant 17:25, a far cry from the previous record of 19:26.
The STI was manhandled to this record by stunt driver Mark Higgins, who maintained an average speed of 128 mph, beating his previous average of 116 mph. The car was prepared through a partnership with Subaru and the rally car maniacs at Prodrive.
If you think the only TT course records that matter involve just two-wheels, we've got great news. TT familiar Michael Dunlop delivered the first-ever sub-17 minute lap of the Mountain course. Better yet, the whole endeavor was caught on helmet cam, a seamless rush of villages, forests, and hills with speeds reaching up to 200 mph. Though these feats are impressive, the event was again marred by tragedy as two motorcyclists died from injuries sustained during competition.
Take a look at both the Subaru and the Dunlop TT record runs in the videos below. ผลบอลไทย

Hyundai Has Created the Fuel-Cell Electric Semi Truck of Our Cyborg Dreams
Heavy-duty concept previews future use of hydrogen powertrain
Hyundai has revealed a sweet-looking heavy-duty Class 8 commercial truck concept called the HDC-6 Neptune. Inspired by the streamliner trains that were all the rage in the 1930s and 1940s, the Hyundai HDC-6 Neptune concept looks futuristic and retro at the same time, clearly channeling the art deco lines of the past while also featuring a hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain. Hyundai debuted the HDC-6 Neptune concept at the 2019 North American Commercial Vehicle Show to introduce its commercial vehicles to the U.S. market and gauge the possibility of selling them here.
"The fuel-cell powertrain gave us the opportunity to redefine the classical typology and architecture of the truck," said Hyundai Motor Group chief design officer Luc Donckerwolke, in a release. Because of increased cooling requirements, the grille spans the whole lower portion of the truck, which helps airflow while giving the truck its distinctive look. The retractable steps leading up to the cabin are also hidden within the grilles, while the lack of a traditional hood has allowed for better interior packaging with the powertrain positioned under the passenger compartment.
In line with Hyundai's sustainable mobility initiative, the HDC-6 Neptune concept also comes with an HT Nitro ThermoTech trailer, which features a cryogenic refrigeration system—is Ted Williams inside?—developed with Air Liquide to reduce the truck's overall carbon footprint by a claimed 90 percent. Hyundai says the system lowers its temperature quicker and is better controlled than a traditional refrigeration system. Its construction is also unique because it's made of a one-piece sandwich foam panel with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) skins and without posts and roof bows, so as to keep the trailer's weight down without sacrificing capacity.
Through its joint venture with H2 Energy, Hyundai will start introducing fuel-cell commercial vehicles in Europe—specifically Switzerland, where it will provide 1,600 trucks from 2019 to 2023. We doubt they'll look as cool as the Neptune concept at first, but maybe some day we'll see Hyundai's streamliner-inspired hydrogen fuel-cell electric truck on the road. บ้านบอลพรุ่งนี้
