there's no stopping the smirk that stitches itself across benji's lips as davis frets⠀,⠀amusement sparking in his eyes in an instant⠀.⠀"⠀hey⠀,⠀try not to look so STRESSED⠀,⠀babe⠀.⠀it was only a few minutes⠀&⠀they knew what time i was going to leave⠀.⠀kai was over it⠀,⠀anyway⠀,⠀one of us had to bite the bullet⠀&⠀end it⠀.⠀"⠀his hand flattens against davis' back⠀,⠀then⠀,⠀body swaying closer until there's only a few inches of space left between them⠀.⠀"⠀also⠀,⠀none of them hate your guts⠀,⠀i'd kill 'em if they did⠀.⠀they don't care if i leave early if it's to see you⠀.⠀"⠀&⠀yeah⠀,⠀maybe that's just thanks to to the feelings they all KNOW benji has for davis⠀&⠀their innate need to meddle in his love life⠀,⠀but he'll take whatever teasing this might earn him if it means he gets off scot-free when rushing to see the other⠀.⠀he beams at the sight of his favorite smile⠀,⠀shuffling to the side to allow davis to lead the way into the building⠀.⠀"⠀yeah⠀,⠀but if she's got any taste⠀,⠀she definitely missed you more⠀.⠀i would⠀.⠀"⠀it's a little too honest⠀,⠀he knows⠀,⠀but it's been months since holding back was an option⠀&⠀davis seems focused enough on the sounds of barking that benji doesn't think it'll make too much of an impact⠀.

          eyebrows  fall  on  either  side,  lips  parted  already  to  make  a  sound  of  admonishment;  it’s  bad  enough  that  davis  takes  up  most  of  benji’s  time,  but  even  worse  when  it’s  time  away  from  his  bandmates.  he’s  almost  too  certain  he’ll  never  hear  the  end  of  it  —  again.  “tell  them  i’m  sorry,  would  you? seriously,  it’s  a  miracle  they  don’t  hate  my  guts  right  now.”  he’d  nag  more,  if  not  for  the  way  benji’s  hand  on  his  waist  makes  his  brain  turn  to  absolute  jello.  it’s  headline-worthy,  almost:  debate  champ  floored  by  roommate’s  physical  affection  !  davis  manages  to  break  from  his  thought  process,  at  any  rate  —  a  mere  mention,  no  matter  how  implicit,  of  the  whole  reason  he’s  here  is  enough  to  make  his  heart  beat  quicker in excitement,  smile  broaden  in  kind.  “oh,  absolutely.”  davis  insists,  making  their  way  to  the  entrance;  already,  the  swing  of  the  door  gives  way  to  the  sound  of  high  pitched,  excited  barking,  and  davis’  grin  widens.  “i  bet  she  misses  us.”

who’s the cuddler?⠀benji is consistently the initiator, but davis is the one that melts into it and refuses to let go, which benji claims full credit for on account of accidental exposure therapy — is that what their cuddle sessions are ?? no !! but good luck getting benji to admit that !!

who makes the bed?⠀benji !! davis tries sometimes but benji is very peculiar about the way the bed is made and as much as he appreciates the effort, he remakes it how he likes it every time fdgkjdf

who wakes up first?⠀davis !! he's always been the more disciplined of the two of them, what with having a real life lined up for him and whatnot. benji, on the other hand, runs on his own time and tries desperately to get davis to match it by dragging him back into bed every morning DKJHFKD

who has the weird taste in music?⠀definitely benji, he swears it comes with the territory of being a musician, but i just think davis has argued against that defense more than once and benji pouts about it every time

who is more protective?⠀i think this is fairly even ?? they're both so inherently kind and gentle that i don't picture either of them being too quick to rise to any kind of bait over just steering the other away

who sings in the shower?⠀not to continue to say benji but this one is so him and we all know it, he has his best performances in the shower. that said, he's known to drag davis into the shower with him, and when he does, he is not above goading him in to joining his little shower concerts

who cries during movies?⠀absolutely davis — benji very rarely cries, and if he does, it's never over media. that said, he is so fond every time he catches davis misty eyed over movies, will spend the rest of the time cooing at him and wiping his tears away :')

who spends the most while out shopping?⠀davis unless it's for august, if the puppy is involved, benji can and will blow through hundreds of dollars, but he's happy to otherwise leave spending to davis

who kisses more roughly?⠀not to throw a wild card, but it's davis and it drives benji absolutely wild because his boyfriend is naturally the more calm of the two of them, so what do you mean he's the one pushing closer and deepening their kisses—

who is more dominant?⠀this one is benji, davis might be the one to get things going with his kisses, but the very second things start to go further than a kiss, benji takes the reins, he has no choice but to take davis apart every single time

my rating of the ship from 1-10.⠀picture the biggest number you can think of and double it, these two mean the absolute WORLD to me !!!!!!!

he's still donning his practice clothes when he reaches davis⠀,⠀his beat up docs⠀,⠀dark torn up jeans⠀&⠀grungy old band tee that kai had hastily cut the sleeves off of before their very first show lending greatly to the whole rockstar vibe marley had once insisted on crafting for him⠀.⠀regretfully⠀,⠀the image crumbles the very second benji lays eyes on his best friend⠀,⠀the grin that takes over his features too much even for the leftover eyeliner smudged around his eyes to conceal⠀.⠀"⠀hey⠀!⠀"⠀he calls out⠀,⠀pace quickening considerably until he comes to a stumbling halt in front of the other⠀.⠀"⠀you coulda gone in without me⠀,⠀i'd have met you in there⠀.⠀"

⠀⠀⠀pink dusts across benji's skin in an instant⠀,⠀doe eyes wide when his head snaps up to allow him a better look at davis⠀.⠀for a moment⠀,⠀he wonders if the other will ever stop having this effect on him⠀—⠀if a time will ever come in their lives where benji's heart won't feel like it's bound to burst the very second sweet words fall from sweeter lips⠀,⠀&⠀silently⠀,⠀he hopes it never does⠀.⠀pulling in a deep breath⠀,⠀he slips his hands around davis' waist⠀&⠀pulls him in close⠀,⠀smile almost shy in the wake of the confession⠀.⠀"⠀that⠀. . .⠀i must be doing something right⠀,⠀then⠀,⠀hm⠀?⠀"⠀fingers dip beneath the hem of davis' shirt⠀,⠀pressing against warm skin⠀.⠀"⠀'s the same for you⠀,⠀you know⠀.⠀i've never felt safer⠀.⠀"

there's a flash of guilt in benji's eyes when the question sounds⠀,⠀cheeks painted pink as he reaches out to wrap an innocent hand around davis' wrist⠀.⠀"⠀. . .⠀only a little bit⠀,⠀"⠀the guitarist admits⠀,⠀flashing his most charming smile in tandem with the confession⠀.⠀"⠀'s fine⠀,⠀though⠀,⠀don't worry about it⠀.⠀quinn was running it long on purpose⠀,⠀he's lucky i didn't ditch thirty minutes ago⠀.⠀"⠀after all⠀,⠀the whole band KNOWS that wednesday is puppy day⠀,⠀&⠀benji can't be held accountable for the things he does to make it here on time⠀.⠀pulling himself out of that thought⠀,⠀he flashes davis one more warm grin⠀,⠀retracting his hand from his friend's wrist to settle it against his waist⠀,⠀instead⠀.⠀"⠀you ready to go see her⠀?⠀i bet she misses you⠀.⠀"⠀

          davis  thinks  it’s  really,  ridiculously  unfair  how  good  benji  looks  right  now.  his  family  had  always  taught  him  that  staring  is  rude,  but  it’s  with  great  physical  effort  that  he  has to restrain  himself  from  continuing  to  gaze  intently  (  hopelessly  )  in  his  roommate’s  direction;  a  part  of  him  reminds  himself  to  thank  kai  for  removing  those  sleeves  later  on.  “huh  —  oh,  hey  —  !”  he’s  snapped  out  of  his  reverie  quick  enough,  though;  when  benji’s  shining  presence  falls  right  in  front  of  him,  blinding  him  with  warmth,  he  can’t  help  the  grin  that  spreads  across  his  face,  matching  his.  “nah,  i’d  just  gotten  here,  dude,  don’t  worry  about  it  !”  and  it’s  true;  for  someone  who  constantly  runs  on  his  own  time,  he  tries  to  make  sure  that  with  benji  he’s  never  late.  a  glimpse  at  the  puppies  from  the  glass  window  is  all  it  takes  for  the  smile  on  davis’  face  to  grow,  more  excited.  “hey,  you  didn’t  cut  rehearsals  short  ‘cause  of  me,  did  you  ?”
