Wanda knew what deflection looked like after years of working with the Avengers. Whatever caused John to become the man standing before her today has deeply affected him. Wanda wanted nothing more than to hug John and tell him it was going to be alright and that it wasn't his fault. Wanda didn't want John to believe her empathy for him was pity. "I don't think drinking is going to solve my problems, even if it temporarily drowns them. I do still take medication, so they would negatively affect." 

She stared down at the clenched fists that rest in her lap. Wanda clenched her hands so tightly that her knuckles began to turn white from the pressure of it. It wasn't until John spoke again after a long silence that broke her from her trance, causing her to jerk her head back up to look at him. Though he sounded uncertain in himself regarding trying to bring her comfort, she appreciated that he was trying. Wanda's gaze softened as she looked at John as she slowly reached out a hand across the table to place hers over top of his. "Yes, I would love that."

John blinks, the question hits a little too close to home for him to not immediately try to deflect. " Have a cigarette and a pint , luv . That usually solves all my problems . " He dismisses with his usual laissez-faire attitude.

It takes him only a moment of watching her to feel the empty pit in his stomach she must be feeling too. As much as it hurts, he's glad to still have that empathy in spite of it all. " I ... Look , I'm really the last person to answer that . But a burden shared is a burden halved , innit ? Let me roll a ciggie an tell me about what's haunting you . "

Wanda Maximoff hadn't expected an arranged marriage in her lifetime, but there was a first time for everything. The magic community had voted without Wanda's knowledge, or consent, to arrange a marriage between her and another powerful member of it to protect her from Chthon and his cultists. She was furious about this whole arrangement with a man she'd never even met and who never bothered to attend any gatherings. Another thing Wanda was upset about was she didn't need to be protected by this stranger when she could protect herself.

She stood before a full-length mirror, staring at herself in the mirror, to be met with the sight of herself in her wedding dress. She wore a scarlet wedding dress instead of a white one, with gold jewelry to contrast it. Wanda reached up to adjust the necklace around her neck for the third time, indicating that she was nervous to go through with the impromptu wedding. Sighing heavily in defeat, she stepped away from the mirror, ready to face this challenge. Wanda clutched her hands together for a brief moment before exiting the room to a narrow corridor. She reached the end of the corridor to a set of heavy double doors that she reached for the door knobs, pulling it open to be greeted by the sight of the various guests that turned to look toward the bride. Wanda's violet eyes were locked on the one person who did not turn to look at her, whose back faced her instead. Her soon-to-be husband. Wanda made her way through the crowd of people, she didn't take her eyes off him until they were standing side by side.

Wanda slowly turned her head to look at Clark with an expression that was a mix of surprise and hope. Advice from Superman was surely something that would inspire hope in anyone that he encountered. Wanda quickly looked down at both hands that rested in her lap, then lifted her head up to look forward at the night sky. "Yes, you're right. The light shines even in the darkness. Just like the moon and stars above us."

Barton caught her off guard by pressing the tip of his index finger onto the tip of Wanda's nose. She giggled as he said boop after he moved his finger from the tip of her nose. Wanda leaned forward, pressing her forehead against his. Her violet eyes stared into his, a look of adoration and love reflected at her. A smile formed on her ruby lips as she brought her hand up to press the tip of her thin index finger into the tip of his nose. "Boop."

She laughed as she pulled away to rise to her feet.  She looked over her shoulder at Barton in her usual mischievous way. 'Come and get me.' Wanda smirked before turning her head to walk down the hall leisurely. She knew it was only a matter of time before Barton came after her and took her into his arms for an embrace and kisses.

With the snap of her fingers, her costume morphed into a black slip nightgown through the use of her magic. She pulled the covers out to sit on the mattress until she turned to look at Bruce once again. "Do you want to change? I don't think the Bat suit is comfortable to sleep in." She pointed a thin and bony finger at the bat logo on his chest, but she suspected he was probably going to sleep in it.

Honestly, Wanda had suspected Batman would've shot down her request for his company until she fell asleep. He was always so serious that she didn't think he possessed a gentler side. She was banged up from the battle against Darkseid that she had to remain in the infirmary until she was able to recover. Her right arm was in a sling and almost the entirety of the right half of her face was bandaged, and her right eye was covered up. Her violet eye looked at Bruce with a newfound wonder and respect for him, he wasn't as bad as she had believed him to be. "I don't need anything, but could you hold my hand until I fall asleep?"

“A hot chocolate sounds delicious,” Wanda nodded in agreement as she took out the cigarette that was clenched between her teeth to take a long drag of it. The last time Wanda remembered having a hot chocolate was in February when it was still cold outside. She had one by herself, but now that she wasn't alone it would be more enjoyable with some company. "Do you want to come over to my apartment to have some? Or one from a café?"

Regardless of which one he chose, Wanda was just happy she was going to get to spend time with John. The moments they got to spend time together off duty, Wanda cherished it.

That cheeky grin on Bruce Wayne's face should've been irritating because it was all for show, yet Wanda was still enamored by it. She did feel some parts of him were curious about Wanda's answer. A smirk graced her ruby lips, two can play at this. "An opportunity to smash Bruce Wayne? I absolutely would smash."

Wanda stared in return at the king of dreams in their throne room and their realm. Wanda's lips curved into a grin, exposing the top and bottom elongated fangs on the top and bottom jaw. Her eyes widened to expose crimson glowing eyes that contrasted with black sclera that brightened her eyes. Her hair floated around her head as though she were underwater around a twin pair of horns that grew on either side of her temples. The electricity in the air caused by Dream's tension and hostility caused the massive bat-like wings to stretch out from behind Wanda's back. The endless was hostile to her and issued a silent threat if she made any attempts to attack. It would be a foolish mistake to dare attack or provoke Dream in their world. No doubt, this form was a threat, even to a mighty endless. Wanda tilted her head to look at Dream, shifting her devious grin into a friendly smile. 

"Destroy you? Please, what a dull affair that I have no interest in. I came to see you and your realm because I feel you're avoiding me." Wanda had felt that the Sandman was avoiding her and not putting her to sleep as they should. If Dream wasn't going to her, then she would have to go to them."Tell me, why is it that I'm not drinking coffee or energy drinks, nor forcing myself to stay awake with chaos that you aren't there? Am I not good enough? Am I being punished?" It was a brash foolish to come into their world, but it got their attention on her.

Wanda said nothing, instead, she extended both arms to grab Barton by both cheeks. She began to pepper both his cheeks and his lips with kisses of gratitude. "You're too sweet to me, my darling." She murmured softly between the kisses.

It was late, most had retired to bed, while others went back to their respective homes to get some rest. Not Wanda, she didn't really have a place to call home anymore, so the Watchtower was as close as it was going to get. She sat alone at a table in the dining quarters with a freshly brewed cup of coffee resting between her hands. Wanda sighed heavily as she stared out the window to stare at the vastness of space, her violet eyes shifting to look at the countless stars before her. 

So deep in thought that she was that she hadn't noticed Batman standing in front of her, nor had she sensed his presence immediately. When she did, she jolted, turning her head swiftly, rising out of her seating quickly that she spilled the hot coffee on her hands. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest from the surprise he gave her, and shaking her hands to get the scalding liquid off her hands. Before she could even say anything, Batman had pulled out a rose from behind his back. Wanda's eyes widened as she stared at the flower offered to her, then at the man's partially covered face. "It's beautiful," She finally uttered softly as she reached out a trembling hand to take the rose from Batman.
