٠ ࣪⭑ It was certainly a loud one out there. The campus had come alive with all sorts of activities for the fall season. Most of the time, Cucumber would've been happy to participate. But... he was feeling a lot more anxious than usual.

The sounds were overwhelming him as he simply tried to get to the archives in order to read. Everyone everywhere was talking about food and memories... and it made him homesick more than anything else. He was on a mission to do research, so that's what he would do!

The little guy sat in the Arcanus Archives with a stack of books to hide behind, hoping that he could simply pass the time away and not get too involved.

٠ ࣪⭑ Well, he could have gone into how it's actually not super complicated with the proper formulas and techniques. But he wasn't really here to debate Sora, especially not with how excited he was about the whole adventure.

" W-well I wouldn't say I'm the smart one. " He comforts, not wanting to see Sora put himself down like that. Anyone could be smart really if they put the effort into learning. There were different kinds of smarts too. He wasn't really good at talking to people, but Sora for sure was. That's a whole different thing. " I just have done this a lot with my sister. She'd have me make maps too... so it's just practice really. "

He pulls out his phone to pull up a digital version of Arcanus. This phone thingy was really handy, it's no wonder Nautilus got an upgraded one.

" I-If we start in Eterna we can hit all of those houses, and make Honeycombs a halfway point before going to Seaside? " He suggested, showing Sora his screen and pointing to the locations.

" Miss Byleth can always help Luna get home after and then I'll just go home with her too. " He was really trying to plan more for the inevitable sugar crash.

Sora groaned at the math comment and shook his head. He let out a bit of a laugh and nudged Cucumber's arm gently. "This is why you're the smart one!" Sora smirked at Cucumber after his own self inflicted burn.

"Seriously though, I don't know how you guys do this stuff... It's too complicated..."

"All of them!"

Sora exclaimed, pumping his fist into the air to Cucumber's question. He pulled off his hat and joined Cucumber at the desk for a minute. "I want to hit all the main housing districts, see all our friends, and stop by the café for hot chocolate and tea!"

"Should we start here or go to a different district? I know more people live here in seaside... At least I think there are more people here..."

٠ ࣪⭑ Spirits Jubilee

He's definitely going to be doing this one! I've already got plans for it, however his costume is going to be a more fleshed-out version of his mage outfit! Picture for reference:

٠ ࣪⭑ The Fall Festival

He can definitely be seen walking around this one, though it might be kind of busy for him. So he may or may not be hiding in the archives.

٠ ࣪⭑ Memirror Fog

This one will probably need to be plotted since he's probably not going to go out here by himself, and I haven't fully decided what his memories would be of.

٠ ࣪⭑ Gladus Feast

This one is going to be the easiest to plot with! ofc he's almost always in Fanalea, but he can definitely be seen trying the various activities and helping out with the cooking. Being from the doughnut kingdom, I think he's a pretty naturally good cook but doesn't do it a whole lot. He can pretty much be found doing anything.

٠ ࣪⭑ Totem Poles/Alter Totems

Cucumber might nnnot participate in this one, since... well he'd end up being a human child which I don't find particularly interesting for him??? I think if he could be an actual bunny that'd be funnier since in-universe normal bunnies are kind of reviled as disgusting LOL But I think he would want to check out the tent anyway and learn about it, and could be persuaded to check out the totem poles.

Anyway if one of these catches your fancy, lmk! I'm not sure yet if his world really has a Halloween, though I'd probably assume so. Unfortunately, the lore (to my knowledge) doesn't go that deep. He's just chilling, if not on edge constantly from being an anxious little dood

٠ ࣪⭑ He really was thrilled to see a familiar face around. Cucumber could handle these kinds of places easier when he was with other people. But lately, he felt like he was more alone than he ever had before.

He laughed a little awkwardly at what he said but was quick to chime in with more.

" Oh man, i-if you ever find like a secret room I'd love to see it! " the potential for new learning (or just a new hiding spot) was everything he could have hoped for. " L-Libraries are usually full of good things, or they are in the books I read. "

He realized then he did need to talk about the festival too. His ears lowered slightly, and eyes were unable to look at Badou's anymore.

" I uh... I needed a break too. " his fingers trace aimlessly around the edges of the book. Feeling the scrapes and bumps along the cover. " I don't... um, I don't really know... how to do any of this stuff. "

Oh-- he's...he'd looked so dismayed until he saw someone familiar, and once again frightened at the sounds. Maybe he doesn't like loud noises like that...Badou had thought he was a bit of a jumpy kid but hm.

"I'm just seeing what's here while everyone's out to play. Maybe some secrets, I dunno." True enough. You never know what goes on behind closed doors.

"I enjoyed the food, but I needed a break. What about you? Whatcha up to in here?"

٠ ࣪⭑ Cucumber was pretty excited about this festival, actually! Sometimes these sorts of things could get scary for him, but at least he would be hanging around people he felt safe with. In some ways he felt guilty about doing something like this without Almond, but he couldn't change that now.

He was snacking on carrot sticks while watching Sora put the final touches on his pirate costume. Cucumbers was pretty simple, but he was it was a fun idea for all of them. He'd wear the bandana when it was a little bit later ( and Miss Byleths blouse was surprisingly comfortable. )

" O-oh yeah! I love making maps, actually. " He rubbed his hands over the coffee-stained sheets, just visualizing in his mind how they would be able to maximize the space for it.

" There's a lot of math and precision that goes into them. " He took a spare sheet of paper, prepared to start figuring out how they should go about it.

" I-I hope I can do your Mister Donald proud? " He didn't necessarily understand what Sora meant, but that wasn't the point. " H-how many houses are you looking to hit? "

The Plan!

The wind blew through Sora's window, forcing the curtains to flow and whip against the wall. The Few trees that lined Seaside Province rustled audibly outside as Sora and his friend Cucumber cleared the desk in the corner of Sora's bedroom. Pencils, pens, and markers fell and clattered to the ground as Sora rolled out a large roll of coffee stained paper.

Sora had spent the previous night watching a thirty minute video on ScreenMe with Donald on how to make treasure map paper, and although it smelled exactly like coffee and had obvious scissor cuts for weathering, it looked pretty dang good for a fifteen year old.

"So... I told Byleth and Luna that I would have a map while they go and get their costumes! Usually Donald- well, my Donald from my world would have taken care of map stuff, I don't see why we won't be able to take care of this on our own! Are... You familiar with maps, Cucumber?"

Sora grabbed a chunk of charcoal and dirtied up his hands. He then started smearing the dust over his cheeks and across the bridge of his nose to give him a dirtied up look. He was already halfway in his costume and it wasn't even the day yet! He did look good in his Tricorne!
