ah yes. another one of winter’s characters who had potential and lost it. tinsley is a middle child. she loves her older brother, but her little sister hangs the moon. she definitely has middle child syndrom(tm), as she often felt forgotten. that was fine by her, because it means that she could kind of do whatever she wanted.

which, in tinsley’s case, it meant a career in ballet. she loved ballet more than life and spent hours in the studio. her parents assumed it was a lie, that she was actually out canoodling with boys, but never said anything. they continued to think this even when the fourteen-year-old tinsley showed up with an acceptance letter to idyllwild arts academy. they figured, huh, why not. so off little tinsley went to california to study ballet in an intensive, boarding environment.

tinsley wasn’t the best, but she was really damn good. she was never going to be a prima ballerina, but she shone bright in the background, and was even cast as an understudy in several of the school’s ballets. but tinsley wanted to be the best so she worked hard. really, really hard.

upon graduation, tinsley was given a place in the new york city ballet, and she emphatically accepted. she did well, continuing to improve, with murmurings that she really could take a more starring role.

tinsley also had a patron, his identity unknown, who took a great interest. he would send her expensive gifts and give massive donations to the ballet, all in tinsley’s honor. talent talks, but money screams. tinsley, without ever having met her silent sponsor, fell in love with him and wanted to know his identity. she still doesn’t to his day. wc coming soon, btw, but feel free to hmu before then.

but when tinsley was 24, she got the biggest surprise of them all: she was pregnant. the father was a guy she’d been casually seeing, and it came as a shock to them both. at that point, tinsley had a choice to make, and she decided to put her ballet career on hold in order to have the baby. wc for baby daddy also coming soon, but also feel free to hmu in the meantime. honestly, it can be the same dude as her sponsor, which, i mean... fun.

but time waits for no man and by the time her body had recovered, her place in the ballet had been given up.

tinsley was oddly okay with it. she loves being a mother, and figured that her career could be on hold for a while. now, she’s too old to go back to the ballet, but began teaching. as she grew up in flordia, she was anxious to return so that her family could be close to her and the baby, odette. she got a job at sunshine university and... things are pretty swell. she has moments of self-loathing when she thinks that she gave up the best years of her life, but... those come and go. she’s also a perfectionist, both for herself, and her students.
