I finished really late last night and I was so tired, I'm just writing this now.

So, the thing is, I wasn't planning on drawing Onyx again. I was just messing around on the drawing tablet and somehow it ended up being really in his style, so I decided to do another version of his cover.

On the one hand, the reference was simple, but I did have a bit of a struggle getting the pose right. That's why I decided to start training. I wanted to torture myself now so it would be easier later. As a result, I almost exactly replicated the pose from the original, line for line, and I'm incredibly happy about that. Plus, this whole perspective thing has been a real challenge. Perspective in the environment comes naturally to me, but in a human figure, it's a nightmare!

I have no idea who the person in that photo is, so all the BTS fans don't bother me. It's a mystery to me.

The background is a bit of a pain for me. I was trying to make it blue like in the photo, but it just didn't work with the onyx theme. I even thought about doing a dump drawing, but fans of the character wouldn't really like that.

I decided on the idea for a concrete, open roof. With a light background, the black character stands out well and the very concept of "a cat walking alone" kept popping into my head as I was drawing it.

Onyx has a bunch of outfits in the game and I chose the hardest one. I forgot half the chains and the tail, though. I got sick of drawing spikes really quickly so the old copy and paste method became my best buddy.

And also, about those boots in the future… I have no idea why I decided to draw them that way. Maybe someone can explain it to me? I just can't seem to make sense of that decision.

Anyway, it all worked out in the end! Maybe I did go a bit overboard with the decorations, but overall, it was way better than I thought it would be.

This time, I came without my WIP, but with a video!

It was weird drawing Onyx. Got it pretty much right the first time, really quickly and easily, which made me think I might've done something wrong, but it turned out okay in the end.

The ears were a real pain, which is weird because in the original design for this character, the ears were actually a bit more complicated than in the final version. I had to redraw them a few times because they just didn't look right, but in the end, I settled on a simpler design, even though I'm not totally happy with it.

Overall, I'm really happy with what happened. Her nose is so perfect and straight! Her eyes are just adorable, so sharp and feline-like. And her mirror frame is just a delight!

The reference wasn't really great, but I somehow managed to get away with it. Still, it's not a great idea to use an image that's from the last century and not something more modern.

Faded colors with a bit of a blurry background, you can't really tell what's what. But the composition is great – there's a bright element and big shapes, and the blur takes the eye away from where it shouldn't be.

Oops, and these are not VOGUE-style art. It can't be! And that's it. This is an order for a wonderful writer who started working for the Romance Club, and entrusted me with the cover.

I have already worked with YPL. Moreover, this is the first person who directly ordered art from me, directly for money. And I am extremely pleased that she turned to me again.

To say that I got high is to say nothing. Composition, colors, light - I love it all madly. And when I found out that it was a cover for my work at the Romance Club. All. I was bought in full.

In general, I am extremely pleased with the result, I am extremely grateful for the trust. And I hope for further fruitful cooperation!

Заказик для YPL по фандому Клуба Романтики, а конкретно по истории "Ловчая Времени".

К слову, это одна из любимых моих историй на данный момент. Хоть я и не веду ветку с Ониксом (и уже не буду точно), мне он очень симпатичен, как персонаж (но мое сердце отдано ворчливому деду)
