vincent & pain

//given that this week has been smutty on here lol, i thought i could delve into this a bit. (this is probably gonna be updated as i figure out more)

vincent is into pain. it's not the kind of 'torture pain', but a uh, sex-related pain. rough partners, little prep, manhandling & the like. he is a teeny tiny bit of a masochist, both emotionally & physically, but he doesn't realize as much himself. it's a subconscious thing. pain intensifies what he's feeling, so it's mostly a boost of pleasure & in most cases he won't even realize it's the pain or throb that's doing it for him. break his heart & he'll love you even more, basically.

he's never really had purpose in life, so devoting himself to a partner & their happiness - even if it includes discomfort for him, makes him happy.

this is part one of a series of relationship headcanons. 1/?

derek & peter

besides his mother, the person whom derek most relates to is peter. with barely ten years between them, peter is a mix of big brother & parents to derek. when still younger, peter watched over talia’s kids quite often because the pack alpha is often busy & so while the kids adore their mother, they also grew attached to uncle peter. derek most of all. for a long time,  derek introduced peter as his dad, but as he grew older, he stuck closer to the truth. 

peter is the one derek relies on when he needs a friend, an open ear, support .. or just a shoulder to cry on. derek’s continuous struggle on full moons is an on-going project even through high-school, puberty hits & derek feels invincible most of the time, but clearly he’s not. peter’s there to protect him, to watch over him - despite the anger peter hides within. he puts derek first. 

when derek tells him about paige, the cute human girl, peter is clearly alarmed, given derek’s known issues - befriending humans & living among them is one thing, but dating them when every full moon, or every temper tantrum could end lethal? bad idea. so peter works out a plan, it’s foolproof - or so they think. when she dies, though, derek’s world crumbles & the easiest way to deal is to blame. so he blames peter. he’s just a kid, he doesn’t know better at the time & cuts ties with peter, refusing to talk to him & it hurts them both. when derek is finally ready to leave the past behind, he’s already met kate - she’s kind & understanding, she keeps derek away from his uncle, filling derek’s head with lies to keep him from telling his family he’s in love with an argent. peter changes, it doesn’t go unnoticed, but derek never really finds out why. 

after the fire, derek’s full of regret - naturally. he never had the chance to apologize to peter, to fix things. for the first few months after he settles in with his foster family, they don’t tell him where his uncle is being treated, but once he finds out, he spends a lot of time just sitting with him, hoping he wakes up. he tells him about school & basketball, about how his new family doesn’t understand him & that he still struggles with full moons. every single time he steps into that room, derek wishes for nothing more than to find peter back to normal, but he’s disappointed every single time. 

after graduation, derek leaves town. he sees peter one more time before he leaves, he spends the whole night, he tells him about kate & the fire, he tells him about the guilt he carries each & every day, but peter doesn’t wake. it breaks his heart, but at least he knows his secret is safe with his uncle. he ends his last visit with an apology & leaves the triskelion medallion under peter’s pillow - it’s his way of saying goodbye, it’s his way of accepting that after years his uncle won’t wake up & that he’s found his peace with it. 

when he finds out that peter is back, there’s joy, but at the same time he finds out that peter killed his sister laura, bit & chased scott, killed everybody else involved in the fire & is mad with the need for revenge. it’s safe to say his feelings are all over the place, but they come to an understanding for a while. derek never planned to kill peter, but he’s out of control & if anybody should have the hale alpha spark besides peter, it’s got to be him. 

after that, it’s safe to say their relationship is .. difficult. derek has changed a lot since he was a boy & peter has, too. they had this intense bond that’s shattered, but neither of them are good at fixing it, or taking steps to do so. derek lets peter stay, but he also shuts himself off from him emotionally & peter’s stubborn, so that’s not helpful either. they have this .. dance for a long while, but peter’s ego stands between them more often than not, but at the end of the day .. when needed, even if for ulterior moves / selfish reasons, peter helps him, which is derek’s proof that the uncle he adored when he was a child is still in there. 

post season 6, i need to believe that they find each other again & talk. derek has had little to say when it came to peter & beacon hills - he almost died that night & peter had worked with kate to kill scott, so .. he had to let them lock him up. but when peter escapes & derek finds out he helped save beacon hills, too, he’s determined to find him.

derek & senses

as a born werewolf, derek grew up using his senses normally, he never thought twice about sniffing out his favorite person, or using his enhanced hearing ability to eavesdrop on his mother or his sister. never on peter, though. but when he attended school, he realized that his werewolf side struggled harder than it ever did before. the school bell made his head swam, the scents of all the students, ever-moving & ever-changing - perfume & other scents all mixed together.. his senses were a curse, more than a blessing.

with time, though & hard training, derek managed to control his senses. in school he could choose what to hear, what to smell - although even with a lid on it, he could still smell more strongly than any average human, but it made the world less ..scary. 

he always wondered why it was so difficult for him, when the others - especially laura, had mastered their senses, as well as control during the full moon before they hit puberty, but talia would always say that every wolf is different & that they all had their own talents, their very own time to shine. she was convinced that derek, too, would find his own path soon & it would be a great one.

vincent & social norms

so, as someone who's interacted with my wolf boy, you might've already noticed, but maybe you haven't. anyway, vincent is terrible at human interaction. besides being intimidated by people he feels are beautiful, he also simply sucks at conversation. he doesn't know the human world (insta, facebook, influencers) enough to do ordinary small talk about this & that, so he's lost when someone expects him to take the lead during chatting. to be fair, social networking in general is something he has no clue of. he has no tv & despises the smart phone his brother bought him to stay in touch.

he is awkward. especially if he feels drawn to someone, but also just generally. he'll stumble over his own words, or forget them completely. or just go silent while internally hitting slapping himself for not knowing what to say. this is even worse when he fancies someone. flirting is a catastrophe. he is honestly lucky he's a pretty guy, cause otherwise he likely would never be able to get a date.

he will loosen up, though, once he gets to know the other person better, but even being close to someone won't fix all the issues. he'll still be awkward, especially in the company of others. his nerves just get the best of him despite him putting up a fight.

How does your muse feel about horror movies? ( by @malumxsubest​) 

vincent doesn’t really like horror, but he also doesn’t dislike it. he gets scared, so he only watches horror movies when in company or .. late at night. some nights, usually when he has weekends off, he just makes popcorn for himself & he sits on the couch with a blanket & the laptop he barley knows how to operate. he doesn’t have a tv in most settings so he watches tv on the laptop. he really doesn’t do well with scary movies on his own, so he spends his time doing different things, but he isn’t avoiding them or anything of the like.

vincent is really naive, playful.

be it adult vincent or teenage vincent, he’s naive. he’s not necessarily innocent (though admittedly he kind of is often, especially when it comes to relationships & stuff) but he only always sees the good in people. he doesn’t know stranger danger, because to him, said stranger might be sad & could use a hug. he’s literally that kind of guy even as an adult. he will always do his damndest to see the good in others even if they appear to be evil. he will do the same with things people say. he’ll always take it for the most harmless variation of it if there’s one. 

sometimes he will seem like a child in a man’s body, but he’s not mentally a child, he’s capable of taking care of himself etc. he works, he lives his life etc. his soul is just unscarred honestly, despite having been hurt deeply by his pack. he’s just so good & pure he’ll come off as a child sometimes, but he’s not. (he’s a true good boy lol.)

day 01: childhood (+ adolescence bc it’s not featured in this and important for vince’s development tbh)

anything in childhood that shapes them to this day?

vincent had a pretty good, solid childhood. he grew up with his pack & his twin brother. they had money, they had a house & he was never alone while growing up. he was a happy child, clinging to his brother more than he should have & maybe he missed out on some experiences because of that, but he’s never really felt that way. i’d dare claim their parents spoiled them, given that money never was a problem & happy wolf children likely pose less of a problem. full moons were always hard on vincent, harder than on most others because unlike the rest of the pack, he didn’t really want to be a wolf. he wanted to be human like the other kids in school. he didn’t want to have to hide. but he wasn’t actively unhappy about being a werewolf until teenage years. 

he was a typically shy child, not nearly as mature as his brother was or their older sister, but he wasn’t overly immature either. he always strived to keep up with peter, trying to be as fast as him, as talented as him, as strong as him. that never changed even into adolescence. 

which is when vincent’s life changed drastically, hence me adding this here. he doesn’t necessarily regret saving his brother, but he also has spent many, many nights awake thinking that maybe if he hadn’t saved him he could’ve grown up with his pack, but usually thinking like that has him feel horrible because there is nobody on the planet he loves more than peter. murder isn’t in his nature, not really, so even if it was self-defense and absolutely accidentally, he is haunted by killing that alpha that night. up to this day, he avoids sleep, because either his brother or the dead alpha await him in his dreams & he’d rather go without sleep than see their judging faces again. 

(before he returned to beacon hills he didn’t know about the hale fire, so he would believe his brother didn’t come see him because he is disgusted with what he did. after he returns & learns the truth, he feels guilty because he thought badly about him & didn’t come back in time to save him.)

vincent lives in a one-room apartment when he doesn’t live in derek’s loft. it’s small, but he’s perfectly happy with it. (ignore the tv, he doesn’t have one.) he sometimes has a couch placed where the plant is.

D - Dominance (do they prefer to dominate, or be dominated? do they have experience as a Dom? Do they have a Dom that they trust already? What kind of things do they enjoy as/with their Dominant partner?)

– He definitely prefers to be dominated and definitely doesn’t dominate. I can say we tried because someone demanded we love on their sub-by muse and it really, really didn’t work out on my end. It got so far that it made me cringe. So, he tried to dom, but he is far too much of a soft sub to dom anybody, even if it’s for play, not real. He’s horrible at it and he doesn’t enjoy it either. 

He did have a dom in the past. I mean.. kind of. I don’t think we’ve ever actually called them dom/sub, but it came with the relationship dynamics and it was fantastic. – Vincent is rather shy, but cameras/recording would fall very much into his exhibitionism route and therefore - yes. He does send nudes occasionally when his partner’s at work and he feels frisky. He doesn’t usually ask for nudes because he’d rather just surprise his partner at work/anywhere and ..y’know, do the thing. His sole reason for sending nudes is to be a shit. – Gonna go with werewolf Vince on this because main verse. Definitely no scheduled sex, he wouldn’t want it to end up a chore?? He’s spontaneous, so he will most likely suddenly decide - ok yes, i’d like some sex now pls, and jump your muse. Even more so in the week before the full moon because he gets twice as frisky. He’s also got a lot of years of sex to catch up (his words not mine), so he uses that as an apology to wanna have sex a lot once in a relationship. It’s also got a lot to do with scents. Some days he will get a whiff of his partner and just lose it and demand to be loved. He likes to believe he controls his actions, but he is instinct-driven more often than he realizes.

One night stands…. ahem, well. The’s no shortage of him trying to pick guys up, but he’s horrible at flirting and unbelievably awkward at it, too. He’s like an awkward teenage boy who’s yet figuring out how to properly talk to another being and conveying his interest. There’s only been pack and school, then work and pack until they died/he ran, so he’s got zero practice and it shows, so it’s safe to say it is more likely he wakes up to find a naked man came up the loft drunk and stumbled into his bed than that man waking up there because Vincent flirted him into a one-night stand. >_>

– Cliché, I know, but collars are a thing, but that’s about all concerning bondage Vincent likes.
