What Symbolic Fruit are you?

Apple

The apple is most commonly known for being associated with the forbidden fruit that Eve eats in Catholicism which casts her and Adam out of heaven: original sin. However, apples are also symbolic to Pagan fertility goddesses, the seeds of which are five and showcase a pentagram when cut horizontally. The apple in any case, represents wisdom and knowledge, independent desire and curiosity. You are someone who seeks to understand the world better. You believe in independent thought and asking questions which to some may be hard to answer. There's been times where you may have persecuted for being different from how others expect you to act, but have never let that stop you from speaking your mind and taking what you want. What does Love Feel Like to You?

a memory.

do you know what love is? you think you did, once upon a time. maybe you never did. you hold onto what you think love is; how you felt when you thought you had it. it's fleeting, and maybe you'll never feel that way again. but wasn't it great? how long will you stay here, lost in this world of fantasy and memory? when will you move on?

What hobbies does your Tav Gortash have? How did they acquire these interests?

The obvious is tinkering, Gortash does enjoy some metalwork and even knows a bit of smithing from his initial start, taking prototypes of what would become the Steel Watcher (eventually bringing his ideas to proper life with the Gondians).

Archery is something of a hobby for him now-- picking it up as a necessity and his main method of fighting, he also made a hobby of learning trick shots with bows. Hey, it made for some fun party tricks to clientele and patriars alike.

Besides that, people might be surprised to learn he does draw-- mainly learning in order to draw out weapon plans and blueprints for his projects, but he does enjoy sketching if and when he has the free time.

How does your Tav Gortash feel about the city?

Gortash has a certain sense of pride regarding Baldur's Gate-- it is his home after all and despite not having the most pleasant childhood within its walls, he does have overall a positive outlook on the city and genuinely believes he can make the City great… he's just picking the worst way to do it.

What are 2-3 songs that your Tav Gortash would relate to?

Currently I don't really have songs for him, I've been looking like crazy and most of the songs I have now are Durgetash and more specific to my own Durge lmfao. The songs I do commonly listen to while writing him but maybe not specifically relating to him are:

What is your Tav’s Gortash's favourite childhood memory?

Gortash has very few good memories, most of his time spent helping around the business when his parents could tolerate his presence, cleaning and tinkering in their tiny loft when they couldn't, or on rare occasions being sent out on errands.

However, he has one memory he really remembers and considers a turning point; on a day where his parents were particularly on their last nerve with him, he was sent off to 'be anywhere else' so he sat in the square by Sorcerous Sundries and watched what the wizards were up to inside, and tried chatting with the enchanted armor at the door. They don't speak of course, but little Enver Flymm thought they at least understood and were interested in what he had to say, and that was enough for him.

Has your Tav Gortash become particularly close to anyone romantically and/or platonically in their journey his life? If so, who, and what is the relationship like? If no, why not?

To say Gortash has a hard time being genuine and vulnerable with others is an understatement-- nobody can truly be trusted in his eyes and in turn, he always has to hold them at arms length and be ready to be the first to hurt them before he can be hurt again. All of his relationships have ever been transactional and the idea of genuine affection and respect is pretty alien. He liked and respected Karlach to an extent, but not in the way she thought he did-- at the end of the day, she was an employee and his only focus was to be a far better employer than he had in Raphael and Nubaldin. In his eyes, he did that, and handing her off to Zariel was more of a 'sorry to see you go but you are moving on to better things' kind of vibe to him. Obviously, she didn't see it that way.

The only person who truly ever has been able to see Gortash genuine and vulnerable is The Dark Urge and he would never change that. He respects and admires them and absolutely did some kind of small show of respect when Orin admitted they were gone. That was his friend-- depending on how things went, a lover he actually cared for-- and while he did seemingly move on with ease, he moved on with a little less care put into his alliances with the other Chosen. After all, they could die, too.

What advice would you give to your Tav Gortash?

My guy, you need jail time and a court-appointed therapist. Also maybe invest in a dog.
