despite being in the industry for almost half a decade, sofia still wasn't completely used to being recognized while she went about her day. being approached by teenage girls and asked to pose for selfies was an odd feeling; on one hand, sofia loved spending time with her fans and connecting with them as much as she could. but on the other, sometimes all she wanted was to be able to spend her days off walking around los angeles without worrying about anything. that's exactly why she ducked into the familiar coffee shop as soon as she spotted a group of young girls across the street, the sounds of their squealing drifting all the way to where the actress was. the establishment was already packed, but the staff there didn't seem to care about the constant stream of actors and directors that waltzed into the place. sofia was just another one of the regulars, and for that she was thankful. blue eyes scan the ambient in search of a vacant table, but every single one is occupied. she's about to give up on her feeble attempt to hide when she spots a familiar face, sitting at a table near the back like a godsend. " i am so sorry about this, " sofia announces as she slides into the vacant seat opposite the other, pulling out a book - a cheesy romance book she's been devouring on her downtime - from her purse and using it to cover her face as she slouches in her seat. dramatic, yes, but also effective. " i am not looking my best for an impromptu photo shoot with fourteen years olds, so i just need to hide real quick. i promise that your next coffee—or whatever you're drinking—is on me. "

sofia gingerly sips her chamomile tea while listening to raven fill her in on the latest movie news. not really their movie, just movies in general. " okay, in a scale of 1-10, how mad will you be at me if i tell you i never watched constantine? " she asks, shoulders slowly shrinking in a wince. the actress doesn't remember a time where she was able to just sit down and enjoy a good movie, but she really should start watching stuff... in case she was ever interviewed by letterboxd or something. " ugh, don't remind me. " it's sofia's turn to fake faint, balancing the styrofoam cup on her knee as her head lolls back. " i slept like crap last night, and had an early meeting with my agent today. do you think i have time for a nap or should i just start throwing back coffees like shots? "
OPEN TO ALL! (2/6 cap)
LOCATION: Any Cafe and / or Bookshop
“Oh my gosh, did you hear? Apparently they’re gonna be making a Constantine sequel. With Keanu Reeves.” She dramatically slapped the back of het hand over her forehead, feigning an almost fainting impression. “The way I cannot wait for that. One of my favorite of dear Keanu’s John named roles.” Raven laughed. She sipped at her coffee, before she hummed. “But, that’s completely irrelevant to right now. How’s your day going? I heard we have late filming tonight, so that should warrant a few more of these—” She gingerly held up her cup. “Eh?”

she is not at all surprised to see holden waltzing into her trailer while she's highlighting her lines with a pink-colored marker. the two are supposed to be dating and sofia knows for a fact more than a few people have given her suspicious looks when she made her way over to hair and makeup to do some last-minute alterations to her character's look. " seen what, exactly? " blue eyes narrow as she slowly reaches for holden's phone, bringing the device close enough to her face so she can read the article. a tiny breath of relief escapes her then, figure slouching on the tiny and not at all comfortable couch. " for a second there, i thought someone was already onto us. " sofia confesses, zooming in to inspect the pictures included in the article. she had to give it to whoever took those ; the quality was much better than some pictures she'd seen of herself before. " awww, look at us. aren't we just adorable? " she teases, turning the phone back towards holden and holding it up next to her face while she pouts exaggeratedly. " i might get it framed and leave it on your trailer so you'll think about me every time you're there. " sofia does her best smitten girlfriend impression, paired with batting lashes and wistful sigh. a laugh bubbles out a moment later as she hands holden his phone back. " c'mon, it could be worse. at least we look like a couple... you know, if you squint. "
𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 : 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐭. 𝐭𝐡𝐞 headline read, bold header followed by smaller text, the ramblings of another reporter looking for their paycheck. holden cannot help but to roll his eyes as he peered through the words. “ have you seen this ? ” he questions, though it was certainly expected. contract, signed and sealed, they knew this was a part of what they signed up for. he turns the phone towards her, arm outstretched to offer the device to the girl. they’d gone for coffee, just a day prior, provoking the media and no doubt the fans. “ they’re quick with it. ”
𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: either one of their trailers ! 𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝: @etherellez !

a grateful smile spread across sofia's lips while listening to aurora, the tension in her shoulders slowly ebbing away. " i didn't even think about the morning rush, to be honest. " she admits with a quiet chuckle, putting the book away to reach for the menu instead. " all i could think was that i needed to find a place to hide in, and a café looked good enough. " sofia's eyes survey the menu, mouth watering at the thought of a fresh, warm croissant and a massive cup of coffee. " but now that i'm here, not trying anything probably would make me a terrible person, right? " the brunette teases, tone lighter than it was when she'd sat down across from aurora. " i don't think i'll ever get used to it. don't get me wrong, i'm extremely grateful for being... well-known. " saying the word famous felt so weird, so sofia rarely ever did. " but it is kind of weird to know there are people out there who hyperventilate at the thought of being in the same room as me—i'm not even that interesting! "
aurora had been in the industry for a little while herself now. sometimes it was still hard to get her process down when it came to memorizing her lines and getting everything in order. coffee was usually the only thing she turned to when she needed to be able to make it through those long days. especially the ones where you would barely be able to manage to get any sort of sleep at all. those were usually the worst ones. " oh, no, don't be sorry. please, feel free to sit with me. i didn't realize how packed it was going to end up being either. but i suppose that's the morning rush for you and this particular coffee shop seems to be one of the favorites around here. " the blonde would shake her head as she took another sip of her coffee with a quick shake of her head. " don't be silly, seriously, you really do not need to do that. got to do what you have to do when you've got camera's and people following you everywhere. does that ever get annoying to you or have you gotten used to all of that attention by now? "

sofia's shoulders relax minimally upon hearing the sound of isabelle's laughter. she had this tendency to overanalyze her social interactions, trying to figure out if she was annoying whoever she was hanging out with. so far, it seemed like the other didn't mind her sudden appearance all that much, which meant she could give herself a few minutes to recoup. " you're the best, " sofia responds, flashing isabelle a grin. " still, i feel this might take a while to blow over, so we might as well grab a bite while we catch up. " she suggests. " what's your favorite thing to eat here? i haven't actually tried anything, but i'm starving so i guess now's the perfect time to change that. "
it wasn't often that isabelle was able to relax, away from numerous crazy fans and the paparazzi, but when she was able to do that, it wasn't odd to find the young actress at the local cafe. growing up, this had been one of her favorite places to come with her parents after a long work week, and this would have been one of those days, but both of her parents had been busy with their own projects and had to cancel on their only child. despite this, she had already had her driver drive her there all the way from beverly hills, and she wasn't going to have them drive her all the way back to her small condo, so she was going to have to eat here solo tonight. spotting the familiar face once she had taken her seat, she couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the other's words. " oh, believe me, i get it. " she admitted before then shaking her head at the other's offer. " no need to buy me anything, i'm just happy to help a friend. "

" i'm being a total baby, aren't i? " sofia inquires suddenly, a long sigh rolling off her tongue as she slides a bit further down on her seat. " so many people would kill to be in my shoes, and here i am, scrambling away from girls who just want a few pictures. " the brunette adds, more to herself than to mia. maybe she could find the girls and power through ten minutes of incessant selfies. blue eyes shift from the entrance back to mia, and she nods slowly at her words. trying to let them echo in her mind before she can spiral about being a terrible person. " you're right, " sofia says, trying to sound confident. " it's okay for me to want some time to myself... right? " she closes the book and settles it on the table, the tip of her index tracing random shapes on the cover. " well, since you don't mind me staying... " she chuckles. " thanks, mia. "
ever since she paused her youtube career (if you could even call it that to begin with), mia was getting noticed less and less. despite being a very social creature that loved to interact with just about anyone, there was something about the pressure of being noticed that made her skin crawl, and she was always grateful that she could dip into a coffee shop without anyone so much as knowing her name. but she knew that she was lucky compared to the actors and actresses she worked with on set, so when sofia plopped down in the seat across from her, all mia could do was flash her a sympathetic smile. "you don't need to apologize for that; i can only imagine how exhausting it is to have to pause everything to make small talk and pose for pictures. sometimes, you just want to exist normally. i get it." mia lifted her mug to her lips, gently sipping the liquid inside before she let her eyes settle on the other. "and you don't owe me anything. i like having the company."

after years of being on the receiving end of her mother's scathing stares and harsh words, sofia is quick to shrink in her seat. " well... " she whispers, setting the book down on the table in front of her before peeking up at paige through her lashes. " do we really want any bad press associated with the movie before it even comes out, because one of the actresses wasn't nice to fans because she was not caffeinated and running on little to no sleep? " she rambles, tilting her head to let some of her hair cover the side of her face. " i promise i'll be real quiet, you won't even notice i'm here. "
Paige did not like being disturbed. At all. It was why she worked at cafes rather than at home, that way she wouldn't get snappy at her children or partners for their (usually well-meaning) intrusions. So having a colleague suddenly bustle their way onto her table and even worse, start talking to her? It was not how she wanted her day to go.
"You cannot be serious Miss De La Vega?" She said with a huff looking around to see what or who it was that the woman was hiding from. "Really? Can't deal with a couple of teenagers?"
