omg hii, welcome in ! i’m glad you like what you’ve seen in this mess so far 🤓 i ended up talking A LOT so under the cut is the whole explanation + my opinion on the whole registration situation 😛😛

the whole dani olmo (& co because there’s another guy who’s having issues getting registered) situation is basically barcelona being painfully broke and it finally catching up to them. after a few good years of horrendous financial decisions under bartomeu (namely greizzman & coutinho), they settled in some really bad debts which they had been paying off until this year where they’re finally managing like a normal club under the 1:1 rule (you can spend what you make) before if they wanted to sign someone they would need to make double or triple the amount of the transfer fee.

however, that doesn’t mean that they’re still not broke 😭 they A) don’t have the money for his transfer fee B) failed to register him before the deadline. now they’re scrambling off trying to register him but the appeals have been denied almost everywhere and some clubs (not ours because florentino has said he doesn’t care) are complaining that if he does get signed in, barca are getting special treatment. for now he’s a free agent but wants to stay, if they ultimately fail to sign him they need to pay his salary + €48 million to leipzig aka his previous club. he can’t play neither on the team nor go on international duty with spain.

i can’t even laugh because it’s just simply poor management, laporta is a dumb fuck and there’s literally no denying it. he should’ve seen this coming sooner and not try and sort it out last minute.
