okay, posting some matt x peter, spideydevil stuff.
this is just a quick little blurb of nonsense that was inspired by tasm2 with peter hating the itsy bitsy spider song.
writing ft. foggy and jen walters and peter isn’t actually directly in this. but it’s fine. just, listen, this is ridiculous okay? my writing partner and i bantered about this and i wrote this for it.
🍸itsy bitsy
the annual new york law journal’s attorney of the year award banquet reached the point in the evening where those in attendance have switched from that air of professionalism while awards were accepted and speeches given, to taking full advantage of the open bar.
scheduled to end at 9:30, the reception hall was booked through until midnight. a tradition for those in attendance to enjoy themselves and let down their hair – as they say. foggy is seven pina colada’s deep, working on his eighth, with one of the little umbrellas tucked behind his ear.
matt, far more sensitive to the overall effect of alcohol, has gone shot for shot with jennifer walters. while not in her hulk form, matt has a slight advantage over her. that only lasts so long after the fifth shot, which was supposed to be high end tequila but was something far stronger, matt has to focus hard to work against the alcohol in his system.
it’s not that he’s a lightweight, six foot one and just over two hundred pounds, his body mass can easily handle the alcohol without concern of reaching dangerous levels. but the sensitive nature which matt experiences the world around him is quickly thrown out of equilibrium with the introduction of alcohol.
jennifer is ordering another round, “matt you gotta quit, you just gotta quit.” foggy warns, all to knowingly but too intoxicated himself to do anything about it.
“shush, franklin, i’m fine.” he isn’t, not really, but any consideration into his state is derailed when his phone rings. “hang on, peter’s calling me.”
‘the itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout –‘
“I hate that song, I hate that song so much.” peter says, after someone, for what had to be the umpteenth time, mocked spider-man with it while out on patrol.
“it’s not that bad of a song.” matt says, a suspicious smirk already covering his lips.
“it is a terrible song! if you had some children’s song about a daredevil people sing sarcastically at you, you’d feel the same.”
matt’s nodding, “yeah, of course, absolutely not going to set that song to your ring tone now.”
“matthew.” peter’s expression flat, the voice over feature on matt’s phone guiding him, out loud, to setting a customized song. “matthew!”
‘- down came the rain and –‘
“hello, mr. parker, i was just, thinking about you.” matt says, a little overzealous to be talking with his husband, despite doing so not even four hours previously.
on the other end of the line peter bites back a laugh, disappointed he couldn’t attend the banquet with matt this year due to his own engagements. however, still plans to be there to pick his intoxicated husband up in a cab to ensure he gets safely home. they hold a short conversation, coordinating times to meet and exchanging their goodbyes before hanging up.
jennifer is putting another shot glass into matt’s hand. “why is peter’s ring tone the itsy bitsy spider?” she asks, leaning against the bar. every other person that calls matt, his phone simply announces the caller’s name in a rather dull electronic voice.
“because he hates it.” foggy chimes in, had his fair share of hearing peter complain about it over the years.
matt’s nodding with a wicked grin, “yeah. although… it doesn’t really fit.” he leans towards jennifer, “’cuz i’ll tell you what, there’s nothing itsy bitsy about that spider.”
jennifer sputters a laugh, and even foggy is amusingly rolling his eyes, but in unison - “matthew! shut up.”
#spideydevil#mattpeter#matt murdock#peter parker#when was the last time i shared writing like this many years#ignore typos and grammar whatever i this is written for me and one other person so lmao#enjoy it if u do

MK's Moves: April Wrap-Up
hi all! here's a little check-in/update for my writing during the month of april. :) i had a really wordy month, and all the support i have received has been near and dear to my heart. thank you very much.
Chaptered Fics:
At The Heart Of Time: 13/42 chapters posted. as always, this fic is one of my biggest priorities in terms of my writing this year. i'm getting a start on chapter 18-20 during the month of may.
Forged In Amber: 4/28 chapters posted. my beloved amnesia fic has been so much fun for me to write! during the month of april, i was able to get up to chapter 10 in my writing.
A Semblance of my Soul: 4/11 chapters posted. this fic is absolutely self-indulgent and serves no real purpose beyond being silly :3 i bumped it up from 8 chapters to 11 and i'm hoping to get this fic finished this summer.
You, Me, and the Multiverse, Too: 2/20 chapters posted. i finally got to post my alison blare/jennifer walters fic! i've worked really, really hard on outlining + worldbuilding for this fic and i am really excited to share it.
Performance of the Dead: 6/6 chapters posted. i wrote and completed this fic for namor week, 2024! it follows a series of journal excerpts that give insights into key moments of namor's life.
One-Shots:
silver streams / golden hearts: 2.5k words. i finally made good on my promises and wrote some idril/tuor. the experts call this one "smut with gravitas"
Ride Out In The Country: 2.4k. inspired by my friend rhov's eomer/lothiriel fanart, i wrote some flirty banter ft. firefoot with an attitude.
Mutual In Divine Love: 4.1k words. this arwen/eowyn fic was written for a couple of members of my tolkien discord server. i'm super proud of this one. :)
WORD COUNT (APRIL): 51,048
Goals for May:
You, Me, and the Multiverse, Too - complete 10 of 20 chapters. reaching the halfway mark on this fic would be a dream come true! currently sitting at 6/20.
At The Heart Of Time - complete chapters 18, 19, and 20. a heavier fic means heavier writing so i'm trying to stay realistic about this one. currently sitting at 17/20 chapters.
[UNDECIDED ONE-SHOT] - i'm going to try to limit myself to only posting ONE one-shot this month in order to focus more on my ongoing works. we will see if i make it...
Special Announcement:
in april, my best friends and i launched a brand new fanfic network for marvel comics - excelsiorfics! please take a moment to explore the blog i linked. this network is a labour of love and passion for the community and the team is super excited for what's to come. :)
as always, my askbox is open for any and all questions/comments about my writing. i would love the chance to open up some more about this stuff. :)
-> NOTE: if anyone would like to be added or removed to my taglist, please give me a shout. i have 2 separate taglists for the 2 fandoms i write for and you are welcome to ask to be added to either/both. <3

the café is quieter than normal during this time of day, but that’s exactly why kyle had chosen now to set up this meeting. it had been rather last minute, but kyle hadn’t minded. he needed the business, and this client had sounded both nice and professional in their correspondence beforehand—a rare combination that he appreciated greatly. hopefully that energy carried over into this meeting, and his client would be understanding of his long lead times.
he glances up as the bell above the door chimes, signaling the arrival of another patron. a woman approaches him, and kyle stands to greet her. “hi, are you jen? i’m kyle, thanks for meeting with me. i hope this wasn’t too out of your way.”

Hermes Resources
So I tend to not see more in depth resource suggestions floating around for Hermes in particular, or maybe I’m just conveniently missing them somehow, but either way I figured I’d compile a list of things I’ve read and am reading for convenience sake. This is by no means exhaustive, and I welcome other resource suggestions!
Most of these you can find easily available online at no cost or a low cost if you look hard enough. Archive.org has some of these available to borrow, JSTOR and Academia.edu have most of the articles listed, and Scribd has some things available as well with a free trial account. And of course, check what you can find at your library. If you're struggling to find anything, you can also feel free to message me and I'll help you out.
Web Resources
Some web resources to start - should go without saying Theoi is a good first stop. All of these are just some basic summaries but for anyone starting out, some good overviews can be found online.
https://www.theoi.com/Summary/Hermes.html
https://www.theoi.com/Olympios/Hermes.html
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Hermes-Greek-mythology
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermes
Books on Hermes
There are sadly very few books all about Hermes, but these are the small handful I have found
Hermes: Guide of Souls by Karl Kerényi (1944)
Hermes the Thief: The Evolution of a Myth by Norman O. Brown (1969)
Eternal Hermes: From Greek God to Alchemical Magus by Antoine Faivre (1995)
Hermes by Arlene Allan (2018)
Tracking Hermes, Pursuing Mercury by John F. Miller, Jenny Strauss Clay (2019)
Note that this last book I have not read entirely, however I have read selections from it - if anyone knows where I can find it without spending more money than I currently have, I would be grateful for the info!
Other Books ft. Hermes
Books that feature sections on Hermes or otherwise have a good bit of information about Hermes within them. Obviously there are bound to be many more likes these, but these are the ones I've read myself that come to mind.
The Gods of the Greeks by Karl Kerényi (1951)
Greek Religion by Walter Burkert (1977)
The Cult Of Pan In Ancient Greece by Philippe Borgeaud (1988)

Greek Nymphs: Myth, Cult, Lore by Jennifer Larson (2001)
Ancient Greek Cults: A Guide by Jennifer Larson (2007)
A Companion to Greek Religion by Daniel Ogden (2007)
Articles ft. Hermes
All of these should be available online - you are welcome to message me for any of them if you're having a difficult time finding them.

Books on Magic
Books on Magic and Necromancy in the Ancient Greek world that have interesting snippets about Hermes in them that offer insights as well. Some I've read or browsed through include:
Magika Hiera: Ancient Greek Magic and Religion by Christopher A. Faraone (1991)
Greek & Roman Necromancy by Daniel Ogden (2001)
Magic, Witchcraft, and Ghosts in the Greek and Roman Worlds by Daniel Ogden (2002)

Also, please do offer any suggestions of your own, because this is by no means an exhaustive list, it's just my personal list and I'm always looking for more.

Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center in Chicago
Mar 8, 2021
Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center
Architecture: LMN Architects
Location: Chicago, IL, USA
LMN Architects in collaboration with Booth Hansen is pleased to celebrate the design and construction of the new Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Located at a unique prominent site on campus, the structure celebrates the garden and elliptical form of the Harry W. Pearce Memorial Grove and establishes a new front door for technology in downtown Chicago.
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is Chicago’s only public research university and one of the most diverse universities in the United States. The new 135,000 SFT Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center (CDRLC) at UIC will consolidate the currently fragmented Computer & Science Department in a new home and co-locate it with a large cluster of university-administered classrooms at the heart of the east campus. The building is designed to be a welcoming, inclusive, and inviting space for the diverse student body. The building will serve research needs with state-of-the-art facilities, accommodate the rapidly increasing undergraduate enrollment in computer science and become a new campus hub.
“Illinois is home to the best universities and research centers in the world and boasts a talented workforce that attracts companies from across the globe,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “This new learning center on the UIC campus, made possible through funding from our historic bipartisan Rebuild Illinois capital plan, will further cement the university’s place as a world-class institution that excels in preparing talented students for the careers of tomorrow.”
“This project is a top priority to meet the needs of students in our growing computer science program and helps to strengthen the high-tech boom in Chicago. We are grateful to Governor Pritzker for his support,” said UIC Chancellor Michael D. Amiridis.
“The new CDRLC represents the future of higher education at UIC and is intended to be a welcoming space to promote innovation, collaboration, and discovery. We placed an intentional emphasis on the public spaces, research labs and collaborative areas to enhance the experience that each student will have, and it has been a pleasure collaborating with LMN Architects and Booth Hansen,” said Peter Nelson, Dean, UIC College of Engineering. “Students at UIC will have a new building on campus where they can unleash their curiosity and enjoy a space that is focused on learning, research and teamwork.”
The CDRLC is the third recent academic building to be built on the east campus originally designed by Walter Netsch in 1965. The building will be delivered on an accelerated schedule to meet the demands of the department, doubling its capacity by 2023. It will create a hub for both engineering and computer science that includes research areas comprised of faculty offices, collaboration areas, dry lab and specialty lab; administrative and student affairs office spaces; collaborative teaching and learning spaces for undergraduate and graduate students; an undergraduate learning and community center; and a flexible events room; all stitched together by a five-story daylit atrium.
“Together with the department, University, and CBD, our team of LMN and Booth Hansen have designed the building to become a welcoming hub, a building that embraces the old and presents an iconic new presence along Taylor Street,” says LMN Partner Stephen Van Dyck, AIA. “Throughout the design process, we have been inspired by the convergences that this project represents. At the heart of it all is the convergence of UIC’s mission and the region’s growing tech prominence. For so many in the region, this new building will symbolize opportunity.”
Creating a contemporary addition to this iconic brutalist campus, the building is functional, flexible, and respectful of the context. Located at a unique, prominent site on campus, the structure celebrates the natural setting and organic form of the Memorial Grove and establishes a new front door for technology in Chicago.
Together with the existing lab building, the new CDRLC creates a dramatic public atrium for social interactions with visual and physical connections to all floors. The refined precast concrete and terra cotta façade of the building are inspired by Netsch’s late modern architecture and respond to the site conditions and the Memorial Grove.
“The creation of the Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center at UIC is the type of investment Illinois needs to give our students a competitive advantage in the digital age. I’m fortunate to have an incredible research facility like UIC in my district, and I look forward to seeing the output of this building once complete,” stated State Representative Lakesia Collins.
“The announcement of the new Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center at UIC is crucial in order for the university to keep producing the incredible talent that it does. This state-of-the-art facility will further enhance the research taking place at UIC, while also welcoming prospective students to a unique learning environment,” said State Senator Patricia Van Pelt. “I look forward to seeing this project completed in such an expedited timeframe, doubling the capacity of the Computer & Science Department in just two years,” added Van Pelt.
David Mann, Booth Hansen Principal, Comments: “The new building will be located adjacent to one of the original Netsch buildings, near other College of Engineering facilities and Memorial Grove. This unique site allows for an innovative design that is inspired by the context, materiality, and qualities of precast concrete material. The project breaks free from the rigid orthogonal character of the campus with a more organic connected form that reframes this edge of campus and the Grove.”
Building on UIC’s successes with geo-thermal energy resources, the project will include a substantial new geo-thermal farm in the Memorial Grove, and the building has been designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. Reflecting a complex organization of requirements, the building will prompt students to cross paths with one another and enhance intellectual exchange. The atrium will be porous and dynamic with connections to the campus and the community, honoring the past and looking to the future.
Booth Hansen has collaborated with many academic institutions in the Midwest over the last 40 years. Those colleges and universities include the University of Illinois Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, Columbia College, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Wisconsin-Madison and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
LMN Architects is a leader in the design of higher education facilities across the United States. Other completed projects include the Bill & Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington; the Voxman Music Building at the University of Iowa in Iowa City; the Anteater Learning Pavilion at the University of California, Irvine; and the Huntsman School of Business Addition at Utah State University in Logan, Utah.

"who can create better prompts for their fandoms' fanfic-kers than they can write" Challenge accepted! What's a good MCU prompt?
Oh Anon... Anony-Nonny-Non.
Here, have 19.
1.) Snap!Swap - everyone who died in Infinity War (Snap or otherwise) is alive, while everyone who survived on-screen is now dead. Loki and Heimdall are the survivors while Thor dies; Gamora and the GOTG survive, but Rocket and Nebula are gone; Doctor Strange, Vision, Bucky, Falcon, and Spiderman survive while Tony Stark, Wanda Maximoff, and Steve Rogers perish, etc etc. How do they work together to fix what happens - with Doctor Strange, do they explore alternate dimensions, or do they still stick with time travel? How do they come together to help the world recover in the devastating aftermath of over 4 billion dead?
2.) Dead Loki TDW - Loki died at the end of Thor: The Dark World as initially planned. Now, there is no Loki pretending to be Odin to save Thor from his father’s wrath - only Odin himself remains. The father who sent soldiers to kill his own son when he committed treason and betrayed Odin’s wishes, and Loki is no longer alive to take the fall. Now Thor is the unfavored son, and Heimdall and the Warriors Three are banished from the realm. Hela is no longer released, but the burden of responsibility is heavy indeed.
3.) Fallen Loki, Collector’s Edition - at the end of Thor 1, when Loki attempts to kill himself, he doesn’t end up in Thanos’ grasp, no no - he ends up in the Collector’s. Reverted to his Jotunn form, suffering from head trauma, and growing horns, he lives out his days in the Collection fearing his brother’s wrath should he be found. After all, his brother only learned that genocide like he wished to enact was wrong - he didn’t learn to love the Jotnar. Surely he still wishes them dead?
Things change, of course, when the Guardians of the Galaxy first arrive with the Power Gem - now freed from his glass case prison, he ends up trapped/stuck with them for the rest of the movie, and becomes a Guardian himself.
4.) Pym!Ultron - Tony Stark isn’t the creator of Ultron in the MCU now, and Scott Lang’s Ant-Man never came to be. Infuriated by Stark’s apparent lackadaisical approach to saving lives, Hank Pym creates Ultron to supersede Tony Stark... but nothing ever turns out the way you plan, does it Hank?
5.) Hela’s Rise - after Thor is banished in Thor 1, Loki finds his Jotunn origins and Odin falls into the Odinsleep to avoid THAT conversation any further. Unfortunately, instead of being handed the throne while Odin recovers, Hela breaks through Odin’s weakening imprisonment spell and arrives back in Asgard - and as Odin’s firstborn, she takes command of the throne instead. Blocking Thor from ever returning to Asgard, casting Odin in a permanent sleep, banishing Heimdall and the Warriors Three to Midgard with Thor, and imprisoning Loki and Frigga, it doesn’t appear that anyone can stop her - especially when her new suitor is more than willing to kill for her favor. Can she be stopped?
6.) The Tragic Death of Tony Stark - Tony Stark dies before he can cure himself in Iron Man 2 - and hoo boy, does this open a can of worms. Unfortunately for Tony, he gets to watch it all go down as a ghost - because of course his luck’s just like that.
7.) Dead Hawk Do Not Eat - Natasha Romanoff is left to pick up the pieces after Hawkeye sacrifices himself on Vormir. Between her job as the new Director of SHIELD, the painful distance his family has enacted, and an old threat from her past rising to meet her, the world has never seemed so gray.
8.) For Better or For Worse - at the end of Endgame, Steve goes back in time. But despite himself, he can’t help but fight to change the intolerant society he’s returned to... and his changes ripple forward in ways no one could have guessed.
9.) Cracking Open a Cold One with the Boys - Howard Stark unearths and defrosts Steve in the 1980s. Between the Cold War, reuniting with Peggy Carter, and uncovering a HYDRA conspiracy with Hank Pym, Steve’s being kept busy enough without having to deal with a persistent little fan in the form of Howard’s only son.
10.) A Stane on Your Good Name - Obadiah Stane survives the end of Iron Man 1, and lives to endure a public trial, where we learn exactly what led to him betraying the man who was like a son to him.
11.) Pepper Fire - in Iron Man 3, Pepper Potts was cured of her superpowers. But what if they remained even after being cured? Now she must navigate the world as a mutant CEO, and all the bad (and good) that comes with it.
12.) No Longer So Sweet - when Loki was adopted and glamoured as a Prince of Asgard, it was under the assumption that he was a runt. Not so. When he begins to grow bigger than Thor, and horns bud at his temples, Odin and Frigga cast him away and tell the realm he died of sickness.
Years later, Thor is made mortal and banished, only to be knocked out of the Bifrost and onto Sakaar. There he encounters a familiar (if blue) face, looming over him at 8 ft 5 - and both must work together to return to home... whatever that is now. (Technically one of my older prompts, but still one of my faves)
13.) World War Panther - T’Challa remained in his coma for longer than expected; Killmonger declares war on the world, and gets exactly what he wants. But as Wakanda struggles to maintain a 360 degree front battle, Erik finds himself doubting the path he chose, as he witnesses the damage unravel before his eyes.
14.) Blood as Red as Reality - after Jane absorbs the Reality Aether, she isn’t retrieved by Thor - she is retrieved by Ego, who reveals she is his long-lost daughter, and takes her to locate her half-brother Peter Quill. He should be able to help her with her new powers over the Infinity Stone - after all, he looked near identical to her when he wielded the Power Stone. Now Jane must juggle these new and startling revelations between learning how to control the Aether within her and interacting with her new family, all the while pursued by Malekith, Thor, and Thanos, who sees the (relatively) unprotected Infinity Stone with his two errant daughters, and figures he can crush two planets with one missile. At least she’s safe on Ego’s home planet... isn’t she?
15.) A Marvelous Daughter - Thanos captures Captain Marvel shortly after she departs Earth in the 90s, intrigued by the concept of infusing his soldiers with the Infinity Stones without reducing said stones’ power. And the acolyte he carves out of her will make a fine role model for her two new little sisters... one he isn’t so keen on letting escape when she flees with Nebula and Gamora in tow.
16.) According to Plan - Zemo’s plan for revenge was never so complex as we saw; instead he decides to take three actions to ensure their suffering and demise. 1,heighten the death toll, 2, publish an article, and 3, get Bucky Barnes arrested under his brainwashing trigger commands. Because of this, the Avengers are not warned of their new boundaries until after the UN has passed them, causing internal strife and chafing at the political restraints. With the release of a breaking story on the death of the Starks, combined with Bucky Barnes’ ongoing trial, the Avengers are nearing the end of their patience and goodwill towards each other. What will remain after that?
17.) Never Rub a Ross the Wrong Way - Betty Ross reenters the picture when her father announces the Sokovia Accords, and declares war on him alongside her lawyer and close friend: Jennifer Walters.
18.) Mother’s Intuition - It is not Frigga, but Odin, who dies at Malekeith’s hand in TDW. Now, with one son in pieces, another imprisoned, an estranged daughter returning from beyond the grave, and a terrified mortal overwhelmed with ancient power, she takes the throne and proceeds to do things very differently to protect what family she has left, while making deals with people many would fear crossing. Whether that works out well is another question...
(bonuses for featuring: Frigga being a deeply manipulative ruler, depressed!Thor, Loki freed to teach Jane how to work with the Aether within, and Hela bound by her mother’s magic - possibly an arranged marriage to Thanos? just go dark with it)
19.) When Loki falls and tries to kill himself in Thor 1, he lands on Earth with extensive memory loss in the year 1991, landing on top of a depressed Tony Stark (literally). His memories will not stay gone forever; but maybe, just maybe, he and Tony can change things for the better - for Midgard, for Asgard, and for Jotunheim.

What current Marvel series would you recommend? I've been reading more DC lately because I refuse to read any of Marvel's Nazi/Hydra stuff, but I'm also relatively new to buying comics and I have no clue how to best avoid it
The Secret Empire event is over;. I think there are only a scant handful of tie-ins and Secret Empire: Omega left, but it’ll be completely wrapped up by next month.
Here’s what I follow:
The Amazing Spider-Man: To be honest I’ve always found Slott’s Peter voice to be on the weak side, and his sense of humor doesn’t do it for me, but the Clone Conspiracy event was pretty much written for me and now Stuart Immonen is on art, so everything’s gorgeous. Also, Peter and Mockingbird kissed, which on the one hand, Bobbi deserves better, but on the other hand, I’m a ho for Spider-Man het. Currently the Parker Industries plotline is wrapping up, with Peter having just shut down the business. At the moment I’d say this isn’t worth keeping up with if you’re not a 616 Peter Parker aficionado.
Defenders: Loving this. Marquez’s art is beautiful and I’m enjoying the team a lot. A great example of a jumping on point for fans of a live action adaptation without sacrificing the characters’s established history.
Generation X: They’re good kids, Marvel.
Hulk: Love this one. It never really gives me what I want from it but it’s good enough that I don’t care. Jennifer Walters stars as the titular Hulk, trying to return to her life as a lawyer after her injury and the death of her cousin Bruce Banner during Civil War II. If you’ve ever wanted a superhero book that deals extensively and explicitly with trauma and PTSD, this is your book.
Iceman: READ ICEMAN. Definitely one of my top favorite books being published right now. Bobby Drake navigates his life as a mutant, a superhero, a teacher, and a recently out gay man – who has to deal with the fact that the time displaced teenage version of him is out at a much younger age and already dating a cute Inhuman guy. The latest issue, costarring Daken, Wolverine’s son, was incredible and everything I never knew I always wanted out of a Bobby-Daken showdown. Every line Sina Grace writes is gold.
Infamous Iron Man: The Iron Man in question is actually Victor Von Doom, having reformed his villainous ways after Secret Wars (2015). I love this book. I love the writing. I love the art. Alex Maleev is incredible. I love Victor and Ben and the weight of the Fantastic Four and all of the horrible things Doom has done. I hate the plot twist at the end of the most recent issue, but this series is almost over and I’m excited to see where it goes.
Invincible Iron Man: And this titular Iron Man is actually Riri “Ironheart” Williams. A really fun book with a great main character, featuring multiple women covering a range of ages.
Jessica Jones: Um, mysteries involving the multiverse, Maria Hill’s secrets, and the original Alias team? Yes, please. If you liked Alias, you’ll like this.
Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man: This is a lot fun and I’m really enjoying it. The first arc is a sequel to Amazing Spider-Man: Family Business, so I would read that first to get the full experience. Also, every issue out so far has featured some quality Spideytorch content.
Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows: I Love Love and PeterMJ. I’m excited yet nervous about the timeskip because What If Peter Doesn’t Have a Beard.
Uncanny Avengers: I’m going to be honest: I read this because Johnny’s on the team. My hope with the new creative team is that the smaller core cast will allow for better storytelling, but the first few issues didn’t thrill me. I’d skip it unless you’re like me and will read anything for Johnny Storm, or unless you’re a big Rogue fan – she’s the leader of the team.
Unstoppable Wasp: This just ended, but I urge everyone to pick up the trade paperback. Nadia, Hank Pym’s daughter with his first wife, is a scientific genius who was raised in the Red Room. With the help of Jarvis and Jan Van Dyne, Nadia sets about creating an all-girl think tank to save the day with SCIENCE. Every single issue was filled with so much sheer GOODNESS that it made me cry.
USAvengers: I’d definitely read the New Avengers run that precedes this first, but oh my god this book is so fun. Ft Roberto DaCosta, Squirrel Girl, Dr. Toni Ho and her girlfriend Aikku “Enigma” Jokinen, and Red Hulk.
Venom: Look, I’m still incredibly mad that Venom is Eddie Brock again instead of Flash Thompson, but the symbiote tried to murder a priest in a church and compared it to marriage and I’m Weak. Also, I love endlessly pragmatic Liz Allan.
I’m reading X-Men: Blue because I’m weak for the original 5 but I cannot in good faith recommend it right now. We’ll see if that changes in the future. Some other books I want to try that I haven’t yet: Hawkeye, Black Bolt, Royals, Elektra, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. I recently dropped Jean Grey because I found it tedious, but I love Jean so I’ll probably try it again in a few issues, and I’m behind on both America and Ms. Marvel. Also please check out Marvel Two-in-One when it premiers if only because I desperately want the Fantastic Four back and the numbers on this book could make a difference!

So in the time between like. The Sokovia Accords and Infinity War Rose was up to some shit. She'd do group vigilante stuff w her pops and the Guardvengers- who were called the Nomads on the down low- and she did a lot of stuff trying to legally break apart the accords (ft. Matthew Murdock and Jennifer Walters perhaps?). She was also blessed with Excalibur as we know.
However this time period also includes the Drac arc. Essentially the Death of Dracula comics where his youngest son Xarus goes nuts for power and assassinates Drac, except big vampire man had his suspicions and put out a red flag call to his One And Only Frenemy Who Would Help Him aka Rose Rogers, who manages to save him in the nick of time. Through his healing process his heart kinda grows soft overall and he gets a redemption arc with Rose at his side kicking his ass back into shape and also theres some smooching? Yeah. But in the end, Xarus kidnaps Rose and goes to turn her into a vamp which would be a benefit for all vamps bc yknow. Super soldier serum in Cap's blood cures their sunshine issue and Rosie has 2x her dad's amount so?? Completely invulnerable vamps?? But Drac saves her and in doing so dies. His soul is kept in Bloodletter, his sword, and he gifts it to Rose so she can be even more badass and dual wield a cursed blade (Bloodletter) and a blessed one (Excalibur). Xarus is still a problem and there's a blooming hatelationship there but idk if that is squeezed in this time or if Infinity War breaks it up. It's a whole arc and I have half of it written and yeah
But! Infinity War happens and this is when my continuities change. Canon!Movie-following GVS verse has the movie events occur and I haven't decided if Rose is dusted or not. If she's not she tries to help the fallout as much as she can, pushing through any mourning with public service, and sticking close to her friends and family for support.
The continuity I had written BEFORE Infinity War was that the GVS were barred from fighting this fight because they would be the last line against Thanos. Most of the fighting happens on Earth and there's a lot more destruction. It all is thrown into whack, though, when Scarlet Witch and Vision decide the safest place is with the GVS, which leads Thanos right to them. Tldr there is a big fight and SURPRISE! Steve dies right in front of everyone in a big self sacrifice play, some people still get dusted but he is literally eviscerated by Thanos, and then Thanos still wins and leaves with his Black Order. Rose is fucking devastated. Rocked to her core she goes full anger mode, ruthless and fiery. She mourns a little bit but knows she can't until Thanos is killed. And ofc it's fun and dramatic bc Thanos still kills Gamora to get the soul stone so in the big final fight where the GVS absolutely fucking DECIMATE Thanos it's like 'you lost a daughter and I lost a father and I'm gonna fucking kill you for both' also a very 'My name is Rose Rogers. You killed my father. Prepare to die.' Type thing. Also it's almost like Marvel's Illuminati (I think?) Where the stones are distributed out but its GVS and all I have for that would be that Rose gets the soul stone to keep watch over and I think I had Danielle getting the power stone to watch over but after that uhhhhh who knows.
But yeah. There's a lot.
Anyway I asked my boyfriend who he thought hed be in the guardvengeverse and now we have Josh Wilson, son of deadpool (and Draculas wife, whatever her name is) mercenary extraordinaire. So prepare for the return of Thorsdottir and my NEED to know wtf Rose Rogers is doing rn
Firstly that’s awesome, secondly that’s hilarious bc of Rose Rogers’ uhhhh relationship with Dracula (Shiklah is his wife’s name and also does that make your bf half monster? That’s so fucking cool)
Thirdly IM NOT SURE bc I’ve branched off a bit in universe but gimme like. An hour or so to pin down what precisely is going on

Hyperallergic: Art Movements
Opening of “Monument,” a temporary art installation by Manaf Halbouni on the historical Neumarkt in Dresden, in front of the Church of Our Lady, Tuesday 7th of February (photo by David Brandt, courtesy Kunsthaus Dresden)
Art Movements is a weekly collection of news, developments, and stirrings in the art world.
Around 150 anti-immigration protesters gathered in Dresden to disrupt the unveiling of Manaf Halbouni‘s “Monument,” a public sculpture dedicated to the people of Aleppo. The sculpture, which consists of three upturned buses fastened together with wire, refers to a photograph of a barricade built on the streets of Aleppo in 2015. According to Christiane Mennicke-Schwarz, the artistic director of the Dresden Kunsthaus, the opening was disrupted by chants of “traitors” and “get lost.”
Sotheby’s filed a second lawsuit over the sale of a group of Old Master paintings that it believes to be forgeries. The auction house filed a lawsuit against art dealer Mark Weiss and collector David Kowitz in order to recover the profits of the 2011 private sale of “Portrait of a Man,” which Sotheby’s attributed to Frans Hals at the time. In a statement, Weiss said that he “intends to contest the claim vigorously.”
The Louvre Museum was reopened less than 24-hours after a man attacked a French soldier with a machete. An Egyptian Interior Ministry official identified the attacker as 28-year-old Abdullah Reda Refaie al-Hamahmy.
German prosecutors announced that a 36-year-old Tunisian man arrested on terrorism charges is also being held for his suspected involvement in the 2015 attack on the Bardo Museum in Tunis.
The Bombay High Court rejected Chintan Upadhyay‘s bail application. The artist stands accused of murdering his wife Hema and her lawyer Haresh Bhambani.
Pontormo, “Portrait of a Young Man in a Red Cap” (1530) (courtesy DCMS)
American hedge fund manager Tom Hill rejected a £30.7 million ($38.4 million) matching offer from London’s National Gallery for the purchase of Pontormo’s “Portrait of a Young Man in a Red Cap” (1530), a decision he attributes to the fall in the pound’s value. The UK government is likely to refuse a permanent export licence as a result. An export bar was placed on the work in 2015.
Hundreds of artists, dealers, critics, and curators signed an open letter opposing President Donald Trump’s executive order banning non-US citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries.
A report by Bloomberg identified Oprah Winfrey as the former owner of Gustav Klimt’s “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer II” (1912). The work was privately sold to an Asian buyer last year for a reported $150 million. An unnamed source told Bloomberg that it was Winfrey who purchased the work at Christie’s for $87.9 million in 2006.
The New Art Dealers Alliance announced that it will donate half the ticket proceeds from its upcoming New York fair to the American Civil Liberties Union.
Tracey Emin and gallerist Xavier Hufkens are two of five benefactors funding a four-year scholarship for three Syrian refugees at Bard College Berlin. The scholarships are part of the Program for International Education and Social Change.
A book of Tahitian photographs taken by Jules Agostini is thought to contain images of Paul Gauguin and his mistress Pahura. Two albums of Agostini’s photographs — a friend of the artist — were sold at auction in July 2015, one of which was acquired by art dealer Daniel Blau.

Archaeologists discovered a cave in the Judean desert that is thought to have housed a collection of Dead Sea scrolls.
The FBI repatriated Franse Verzijl’s “Young Man as Bacchus” to the Max and Iris Stern Foundation.
A search of the State Hermitage Museum’s Staraya Derevnya restoration and repository center by the Federal Security Service (FSB) was part of an investigation into “operational procedures” according to the museum’s director, Mikhail Piotrovsky. As noted by the Art Newspaper, the FSB’s search coincided with Piotrovsky’s criticism of the Russian government’s decision to transfer control of St Isaac’s Cathedral from museum officials to the Russian Orthodox Church.
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by photographer David Bailey was reissued to mark the monarch’s sapphire jubilee.
Attendance to the UK’s major museums and galleries fell by almost 1.4 million last year according to a report by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport — the first decline in almost a decade.
A collection of water-damaged recordings of Bob Marley‘s concerts were restored following a $31,200 project. The 13 tapes — two of which were blank and one ruined — were discovered in the basement of a run-down hotel in Kensal Rise, London.
