ᯓ .𖥔˚ Mermaid Au, one piece edition : Kaimen

A new au added for captain kaimen, one I made for may but decided to keep it! in this au, Kaimen is a wondering mermaid who is banned from speaking with pirates and humans. told many times by his uncles, parents, sibling and more. in this au, he wonders about, curious about the surface world. but even more so about pirates them selfs, often he finds himself in the distance watching as the battles go on. from the incident in water 7, to even further out. a spectator in the sea.

he finds pirates fascinating but in a way of like watching a TV show. he's especially fascinated one time and had gotten a close look at the pirate ship the sunny, amazed by the singing and dancing of of the strawhats. it took him not long to tell his friends about all the things he saw.

well kaimen isn't known for having the most mature and wholesome "friends" friends. for they had the brilliant idea to play a prank on keiman and visit the strawhats so they could see too. traveling far far far from home to do so. however during this "visit" they decided to use their voices in attempt to lure out the strawhats in attempt to drown them, against kaimen's wishes. causing the strawhats to attack and defend. kai's friend left him behind to take the blame and get caught.

but in that time a storm broke out, causing kai to get separated not just from his friends but from the strawhats as well and even further from home. the now lost mermaid finds himself in the middle of no where with no way of finding his way home in the grandline and beyond. not long after, kaimen was founded by the strawhats and captured by accident, in attempt to escape luffy and the others eventually captured him again. but with lots of apologizing and explaining. the crew offered for kaimen to sail with them and help him find his way home.

making kaimen one of the newest members of the strawhats during one adventures travelling home and kai admitting he wants to be a pirate too and travel along side them to see the world and it's wonderful adventures. now kaimen is often found swimming in the fish tank or in his own individual fishtank that is travel sides and moves to allow him to interact with the other crew mates that usopp and franky made for him.

he can grow legs but finds it tedious to learn to walk and only does so for practice or when he absolutely needs to use them such as helping the strawhats with missions or blending in with civilization.

Thanks to @kaizokugaris and a lot of their big brain work, we finally came up with a one piece verse for kaimen that works really well! somewhat like a cross over with my original story: cursive legends.

in this verse it sort of starts with keiman being the son of one of the most powerful and greatest pirate captains. Vincent D. William, one of the brothers of the great late pirate king. Gol D. Roger. Captain Vincent was once part of his eldest brother's crew along with their third unknown brother. however as they grew older the three grew apart and bickers became genuine arguments. for Vincent wanted independence from relying on his brothers and wanted to be a greatness of his own that wasn't connected to his brothers names.

so he seeked it, he left the crew behind to join the crew called rock pirates. where there he learned a lot from the man, whitebeard & big mom on how to become a true pirate. mentoring under whitebeard with the great potential to be a captain of his own. with the things he learned, vincent slowy grew and grew in the world of pirates until he eventually became a captain of his own and known throughout the seven seas of his greatness. rivally that of his brother the now "pirate king" himself.

however the man soon fell in love with his most fated princess. a love of a thousand years they found in their cave of wonder. the man had 4 years first, sailing and adventuring with him. the older he gotten however the more kids he had, she slowly began to settle. not in full retirement but to take a break to focus on his lover and family.

however after the tragic death of roger his brother. the marines soon scattered the seas and earth in search of any blood to the pirate king. leading to them partnering up with one of Vincent's greatest enemy and ambushing his island of which he rested. not far from his wifes home town but still hidden. killing him, his wife, and unborn child and leaving the rest of his 8 children in the hands of their aunties and grandfather the king of her mothers kingdom.

years later pass: keiman, the now new captain of his very own crew, (who are parts of his fathers old crew, and new and, his old ship) at the age of 18, hired to hunt down a witch that's been terrorizing a town (she was innocent.) resulting in her cursing him once she was captured. tricking him into eating her own devil's fruit which she recreated and gaining the powers other sought to rid her for having. resulting in her own death and in kei having the supernatural power of Majo no majo no kajitsu, moderu: Mārin

where it gives you the power to become merlin or Morgana from the mythical story of king author.

because kei hasn't unlocked its true power he can only do about 10% of its power so like just touching elements to control them very slightly, using a little of it to change his appearance slightly (like giving the illusion he has another eye), and only able to fly using a broom stick.

until he awakens its full power these are the only things he can do right now and it also is limited to how much he uses. so he can only use one at a time with a little percentage at a time, if he uses two or too much percentage he will exhaust himself too much to use any of his power for a few hours almost to a day or two!

his wish is to achieve beyond his father's goal and become the next pirate king just like his uncle and find as many adventures in between to get there!
