“  so  i  guess  they  weren’t  kidding  ,  ”  she  finds  teddy  in  a  room  full  of  people  ,  not  to  ever  admit  that  she  was  looking  for  him  in  the  first  place  as  it  would  be  very  unlikely  the  persona  she  created  ,  yet  it  was  kinda  something  that  she  did  a  lot  ⸺  looked  for  him  during  different  events  ;  maybe  because  it  was  one  of  her  favorite  activities  to  just  sit  by  the  bar  with  them  ,  judging  everyone  else  as  if  they  are  better  (  but  in  cordelia’s  mind  ,  they  are  )  “  i  just  saw  like  three  people  not  being  let  in  because  they  didn’t  follow  the  dress  code  ,  and  like  two  girls  getting  dragged  out  of  the  party  because  i  guess  some  dumb  ass  security  let  them  bribe  him  into  letting  them  in  ⸺  ”  cordelia  pauses  once  again  ,  her  brown  hues  carefully  scanning  the  crowd  before  she  turns  to  him  as  she  takes  a  sip  out  of  her  martini  .  “  i  mean  ,  i  don’t  blame  them  .  like  80%  of  people  here  are  walking  fashion  disaster  .  ”

 an  immediate  chuckle  escapes  her  lips  the  second  his  question  lands  in  the  air  ,  of  course  this  is  all  he  got  out  of  everything  she  said  .  the  truth  is  ,  they  are  very  similar  if  not  the  same  ⸺  yet  when  it  comes  to  him  ,  cordelia  often  found  it  unbelievable  ;  how  one  can  be  so  full  of  themselves  .  “  busted  .  watching  you  circle  around  like  a  shark  was  the  only  entertainment  ,  now  i’m  bored  again  .  can  you  do  that  one  more  time  ?  ”  she  wraps  her  lips  around  a  plastic  straw  ,  taking  a  sip  from  her  colorful  drink  ,  elbows  resting  on  the  surface  of  the  table  as  she  turns  around  on  her  seat  just  enough  so  she  can  comfortably  face  him  .  “  so  ⸺  did  you  do  any  damage  so  far  or  are  you  losing  your  edge  ?  ”

as the femme speaks , there's  a grin that spreads across  the actor's features . after all , there's rarely anything anyone could say to hurt him , not when the male's confidence flies through the roof . arrogant ?  you 'betcha , but at least , he's not even trying to hide it . “ so you've been watching me , “ is what he says , tongue sliding across his bottom lip as he takes an inch closer . “ oh c'mon , cor .... you know i'm always the problem , “  he teases , but it's the truth he can get by as he shrugs . “ i get bored easily , what can i say , “

cordelia’s  main  attraction  tonight  is  just  watching  people  ,  making  her  own  judgment  ,  especially  when  she  gets  to  see  already  drunk  barely  adults  making  a  laughing  stock  out  of  themselves  ,  perhaps  not  realizing  the  party  is  not  as  private  as  they’d  like  it  to  be  ;  their  pictures  spreading  all  over  the  internet  the  next  morning  .  “  are  you  serious  ?  did  you  really  need  to  do  that  here  ?  now  ?  ”  she  mainly  finds  it  amusing  more  than  concerning  ,  what  are  the  odds  that  she’d  be  focused  on  watching  the  others  ,  too  occupied  to  pay  the  attention  to  what  was  happening  in  her  circle  .

 she’s  tired  of  seeing  nothing  but  white  quite  quickly  ⸺  she  was  kind  of  hoping  for  someone  to  take  a  risk  and  try  to  break  the  rules  ,  but  she  was  also  hoping  for  seeing  a  red  wine  spill  after  half  an  hour  once  noticing  how  literally  everyone  is  invited  .  “  okay  ,  not  to  judge  ⸺⸺  ”  she  pauses  ,  knowing  well  that  there’s  never  a  situation  where  she  doesn’t  judge  .  “  actually  ,  fully  judging  .  why  are  you  stuffing  your  face  in  a  cake  already  ?  we’ve  been  here  for  like  an  hour  ,  c’mon  .  ”  her  head  tilts  slightly  as  she  takes  her  seat  next  to  them  ,  eyebrows  raising  up  as  the  look  on  her  face  is  concerned  ,  almost  hoping  she’s  going  to  get  a  good  enough  answer  to  explain  the  cake  on  the  other’s  plate  instead  of  a  row  of  drinks  .

 if  there’s  anything  about  cordelia  is  that  she  will  never  pretend  to  like  something  and  especially  not  a  party  ;  her  eyes  were  hurting  from  the  amount  of  white  and  the  remixes  made  her  head  pound  so  she’s  been  stuck  in  the  corner  for  the  past  few  minutes  ,  finishing  a  glass  of  champagne  and  she  definitely  lost  the  count  of  how  many  it  was  already  .  “  i  hope  for  like  …  five  reds  and  maybe  some  pink  and  oranges  with  all  those  colorful  drinks  .  and  honestly  ,  they  should  hurry  ⸺  at  least  then  it  would  be  some  kind  of  entertainment  .  ”

she hadn't fully intended on becoming a wallflower tonight, still there she sat, slightly out of focus. swirling the liquid in her glass her gaze shifted from the masses and to her closest companion. ❛ how many people do you think are going to end up in some other color by the end of the night ? so many glasses of red, dangerous, ❜ she teases.

there’s  just  barely  anything  that  can  move  her  ,  let  alone  her  banters  with  anyone  .  there  might  be  some  bitter  taste  of  their  friendship  ,  how  close  they  actually  were  not  so  long  ago  ⸺  but  now  there’s  just  that  and  she’d  rather  show  up  with  last  season’s  jimmy  choos  than  ever  symphatise  with  inez  again  .  “  yeah  ,  god  forbid  .  this  is  not  charity  case⸺  ,  ”  she  stops  mid  sentence  ,  hues  scanning  inez  with  an  attitude  before  she  chuckles  .  “  or  i  guess  it  is  .  ”  the  more  they  show  how  unwanted  cordelia  is  in  their  company  ,  the  more  it  keeps  her  driven  to  become  inez’s  biggest  problem  .  “  last  time  i  checked  ,  you  came  over  .  did  you  actually  got  invited  or  did  someone  pity  you  ?  ”

inez barely contained the near blinding eye roll that her words were demanding. they weren't about to let the likes of cordelia deniran sour the entirety of their evening ( even with the grating of her voice. ❛ god forbid you do something for someone other than yourself, ❜ they quip with a soft tilt of their chin. this side of inez was not typical, in fact, it was only reserved for a few people. cordi hadn't always been on the opposite end of it, they'd been friendly before. when that ended, they weren't entirely sure, but now all of their interactions were dripping with hostility. ❛ 'm good actually. if you have such a problem then you can go. ❜

 her  hand  slightly  raises  in  the  air  in  the  action  that  clearly  says  ‘  exactly  ’  ;  she  always  finds  a  common  ground  with  teddy  ,  despite  the  age  difference  between  them  .  in  a  way  ,  he  is  like  a  younger  brother  to  her  except  she  will  never  say  these  words  out  loud  ,  almost  as  if  they’re  forbidden  .  “  right  ?  like  ,  all  of  them  picked  up  some  collaborations  for  tonight  ⸺  at  least  pick  something  that  makes  sense  .  have  they  even  seen  met  gala  ?  not  following  the  theme  now  is  not  a  good  publicity  .  ”  she  takes  fashion  seriously  ,  especially  themed  events  and  right  now  ,  just  watching  everyone  in  the  same  dress  straight  out  of  zara’s  display  iis  making  her  skin  crawl  .

he readily agrees. "if this was some sort of party for broke people, i'd get it. but what excuse do the people here have for not dressing in something white? or, you know, something decent? you'd think they were being asked to solve climate change." they take a sip of their drink — a strawberry smash with amaretto and rum — and lean back in their seat, not making a big deal of the great cordelia deniran approaching them. he supposes his capacity for nonchalance is a key factor in the enduring strength of their friendship.

 brows  slightly  frowning  before  she  clicks  her  tongue  ,  a  snarky  smile  on  her  lips  and  she  just  shakes  her  head  ,  something  barely  noticeable  unless  paid  close  attention  .  “  and  make  you  happy  ?  this  sounds  miserable  .  ”  she  only  remembers  glimpses  of  when  they  used  to  be  friends  ,  when  they  used  to  talk  without  throwing  insults  at  each  other  and  leaving  the  second  one  of  them  enters  the  room  ;  now  they  indirect  each  other  on  twitter  at  least  once  a  month  ,  striking  the  other’s  nerve  every  time  .  “  how  about  you  go  back  to  where  you  crawled  from  ,  somehow  you  managed  to  not  get  in  my  way  for  the  last  three  hours  ,  yeah  ?  ”

any chance to spend the night thriving off the energy of a good time, inez was absolutely jumping on. the happy buzz thrumming under their skin had a goofy grin permanently etched onto her lips. one that twitched the second cordelia came into vision. inez was sure they'd run into her at some point, but damn had they been enjoying their time before. catching her words inez pauses for a moment. ❛ oh by all means then cordi, ❜ they pronounced, ❛ make all of our nights and leave.❜
