Asking questions without disappearing immediately afterwards was somewhat of a leap into the unknown. “At least... with some people.”

         “Oh gee…” The human really had a way of making the ghost feel better about themself. They never really doubted the words signed to them, every motion made the sentiment feel more genuine. Frisk was very kind and the ghost wasn’t sure there was anyone they appreciated more. “I like seeing you smile too…?”

          “Oh, gee... You really still like it that much...?” They didn’t think their hat trick would get a reaction like Frisk gave them again. They were glad to have such a good friend...

            “Do... humans often have pink on their faces?” The ghost didn’t want to seem rude, but they had seen a good deal of weird humans that day and they really... just didn’t know. They thought people with bright colors on their skin was something from human anime... but... maybe humans actually were like that?

            “Mettaton... was talking to me about you...” The ghost approached her, holding a CD case in their... hands. “And... I thought that if you made him so happy... being his friend, you should...” 

            They trailed off, not sure what to say to the person they’d never really interacted with. They’d just heard a lot about her from their cousin... “I... brought you a CD... of music I thought you’d like... Mettaton helped me... pick?”

              “Oh, sorry... Am I in your way...?” They were never sure what to do when they actually ran into people in the Ruins. Sure, they’ve run into the woman before once or twice... probably... but that didn’t mean they remembered what they did. They tried their best to avoid too much interaction when they were in the Ruins.

           “No…? I… actually only accepted the body because… I could just possess it and leave it… I’m not emotionally connected to the body, so I didn’t… bind to it… Ghosts only entirely bind to… their bodies if they experience a strong enough emotion… Mettaton was probably just… very happy with the body… which is why he’s able to be hurt…?”

           The ghost sat the robotic body down gently before exiting it.

           “See…? I’m still… me.”

          The robot made a vague hand gesture, not sure what they were really going for by asking. They just wanted to know... The more people in the Underground that they could remember, the better a celebrity they could be for the Underground.

              “Oh... I didn’t mean to ask an uncomfortable question... I’m sorry...” The ghost felt bad for calling attention to something uncomfortable. It wasn’t what they meant to do. Worry was a natural state for the ghost, mostly about their own actions but when someone who hadn’t proven cruel to them was hurt... that wasn’t good... Anxiety over saying something wrong was stronger than worry for the health of others once again, though. “If you’re sure... you don’t want worry...... then we can pretend... I didn’t ask?”
