I’m in a norn mood so

🖊 Ægir and his little sister, Valkyrja, were raised by their aunt and uncle in Hoelbrak, alongside their cousin Astrjaarn. They originally lived in Drizzlewood Coast, but their parents had been killed by Jormag’s Champion during some expedition far in the Shiverpeaks.

From an early age all three had a fascination with the Mists and would closely watch the Havrouns and their rituals. At some point they had the bright idea to sneak into one such ritual and proceed to run into a portal into the Mists that was opened, subsequently getting lost in the Mists since they had no knowledge how to navigate such a place.

Ægir and Valkyrja were quickly found by the Havroun and taken back out of the Mists but Astrjaarn would remain there for another week before she was found. She’d refused to talk about her experience in there but would later train to become a revenant, and is now a Herald. Valkyrja on her part would train to become a Havroun, but later have another mishap of getting stuck in the Mists (a la personal story) due to Svanir tampering so Ægir with the help of Astrjaarn and the actual Havroun would venture in there to rescue her - and they succeeded, but Ægir was blinded in the process because of the volatile magic of the Mists

🖊 fun fact Ægir had been a pirate in the same area as Faryen’s mother, in the Far Shiverpeaks and the Janthir Bay, though I don’t think they were in the same crew or anything - they disbanded after majority of the crew died during an attack by Jormag’s Champion. Also related to Faryen, her and Astrjaarn had briefly dated during the Personal Story but and while it didn't last, they parted in amicable terms
