La ligne de mouettes à la proue de l'île,
participait au voyage intérieur,
sur les lieux les plus vastes de la ville
indiquait un désir du large,
tels les hommes pointillés au bord des rivages.

Sacred spaces
Saint Chapelle in Paris is a museum now, but once it was the place of worship for kings. It was built by Louis IX to house holy relics including what was believed to be the crown of thorns worn by Jesus on the cross.
The crown has been moved to a safer location, there are no more French kings and worship services are not held here anymore. You can still feel the echoes, even full of tourists there is a higher presence
This is the art that inspired William Morris and Gothic Revival

US Vogue March 15, 1959
Left: White woolen daywear, as simple as a sailor's jacket; buttoned in Chanel-style brass. Right: Chanel's favorite black lace dress molded to the hips, then fullness; here worn with a necklace frame, secured with a Chanel brooch. The model on both pages is French actress and cover girl, Marie-Hélène Arnaud; she was photographed in the "sumptuous golden rooms" of the Hotel Lauzun on Île Saint-Louis.
To anyone who hasn’t read TVL, there’s actually another layer to Lestat original planning on moving to St. Louis, Missouri. When Lestat was turned he inherited a lot of money, and because he didn’t want his loved ones to see him like that, he basically threw money at them instead. He even bought Nicki a nice house in a fancy neighborhood- where? On the Île Saint-Louis, an island in the River Seine. So when he decided to move to America much later, he chose St. Louis because it shared a name with where Nicki used to live.
And of course the very first words Louis hears Lestat say, and the first words Louis says to Lestat, are also among the first words Nicki said to Lestat when they re-met as adults: “Only the impossible can do the impossible”. So after he sees a man pull a knife on his bro, he decides to stay. Finding out that that man’s name is Louis AND he speaks French AND he repeats Nicki’s words (and reminds him of Nicki in general) proves to Lestat to Louis is his destiny.
Yes. :)
Thank you for expanding on that 💕
There are a lot of references to Nicolas throughout the two seasons already, and I personally loved how they did it.

Just before the Olympics, one had to have a pass to enter the Île Saint Louis in Paris. It was deserted because of security restrictions. This family set up a wooden table, a kiddy pool for the children and wore dressy attire. They had a beautiful candlelit dinner in the empty street. Notice a number of bottles including some Veuve. Il faut profiter! Très Français! (You have to take advantage!)
