140 days of productivity: day 59/140
📸: readings + a beautiful moment when i tried to capture the steam + chicken parmigiana
It was a long and tiring day, but a very fulfilling one. I finished reading Ikigai by Hector Garcia yesterday and, although it wasn't the best book I've ever read, some passages had a significant impact on me. The book made me think a lot about my ikigai (which can be roughly translated as "reason for living" or "what makes life worth living"). For me, it's beauty, like art, the way the sun shines on things, nature. These things are very beautiful and it's for them that I live. Beauty in everyday life, in little things, fills me with hope and makes me want to keep living. Realizing that this is my ikigai made me get up earlier today to live a meaningful day. I practiced yoga in the morning, stretched and read a few pages of Invisible Cities.
I had a quick breakfast and started making lunch. I made a delicious chicken parmigiana with homemade tomato sauce and then I had a lot of dishes to do. I cleaned my house all afternoon while listening to Exo and avoided using my cell phone as much as possible during the day. I managed to limit my screen time to 1h40 and I'm happy about it! There were days last week when My screen time averaged 4h a day and I found it terrifying. I also tried to study the beginning of Destructive Emotions by Daniel Goleman, but my brain felt as tired as my body by the end of the day.

140 days of productivity: day 61/140
📸: scented candles, books, cats — moments captured on my lunch break that are worth living for
Today was one of the worst days I've ever had, but also one of the most productive. I had a horrible night full of nightmares, woke up feeling like a zombie and immediately started working to keep my mind occupied. I soon realized that I had several tasks piled up from last week. Apparently my reminders disappeared from my calendar app and I forgot to pay important bills and answer urgent emails. I got exhausted and considered taking the day off to cry under the covers, which was obviously impossible.
I had a psychological evaluation around 3 pm and the thought of stopping by a coffee shop after that to work kept me going for the rest of the day, but that certainly didn't happen — the psychologist was very late and when we finished talking it was suddenly 5 pm. I got home with an empty stomach and with a psychiatric referral in hand. I spent another hour on the phone trying to schedule an appointment with the psychiatrist only to be told that I should call the clinic again at the end of the month.
My husband spent the whole day buying new supplies for our store and, well, I joined him after this call and we finished buying everything by 9 pm. We barely had time to have dinner and I remembered that I needed to talk to my professor to let him know that not only would I be missing class tomorrow but that I would also be changing majors (yes, I finally made that difficult decision). He was very understanding and will write a letter of recommendation for me to study Comparative Philosophy. I hope I can start soon! But now I really need to sleep.

My colleagues and I chose the word "Lightness" as a way of dealing with life's unfortunate situations. With key words scattered throughout the scene, we see our main character searching for peace in the face of the scene's misfortune. The abandoned setting contrasts with the lightness of the character's actions and his search for peace. [Cinematography, direction, art direction]
