peace talks have seemingly gone on for endless days if you ask those simply waiting about. invited for the grand gesture but turned to dive into what highgarden has to offer to avoid dying of boredom. the southern king showboats to his greatest, pandering to those he can and taking up all of the other monarchs' time as much as he's able. they indulge him, but at what cost?

as the week comes to a close, many are hopeful the talks have gone well and they might see respite from this forced visit to the reach's capitol.

but you know what they say about wishful thinking...

most of our nobility and their staff are simply indulging in highgarden when suddenly troops storm from every space. fear rises, screams are heard, and questions are yelled as the troops bar everyone in highgarden where they are found in that moment.

the largest question circulates, what in the hell is going on?

hello demons ! it is time for another chaos drop. as you can see southern knights have flooded highgarden and barred everyone where they were found. there are no answers being offered, simply guards refusing to budge.

this plot drop does not go into affect IC until monday, we will make a post from the main when you can begin threads revolving it.

to avoid characters being stranded alone, we are offering the following locations for people to be trapped in: highgarden markets, the grand ballroom (being used as a giant dining room), the largest private garden of the tyrell family, or within the hedge maze.

please send in to the main what characters will be in what location by monday, aug 21. after this we will assign who is left at random and dm you with the results. please be sure to spread your muses around so each location has a diverse group of writers. multiple muses in one space are allowed for those who have more than 4 characters.

you can only thread with the people who are trapped with your character, so be mindful of the list and be sure you are responding to opens accordingly.

h.o.t.d. the ruling lord of karhold and house karstark. — g.o.t. the secondborn and bastard son of ruling lord rickard karstark; sometimes called the grey son.

general g.o.t. verse: half-brother of lord heir harrion karstark, he is the bastard son of ruling lord rickard karstark and a reachborn whore by the name of lillian. he is not legitimised, but has grown up alongside his half-siblings and shares a distant but friendly enough relationship with them. his father is somewhat disconnected but has never treated him with cruelty, and the lady karstark has also been civil to him though he represents his fathers' affair. though yoren is treated akin to a fostered outsider, rather than a member of the family and his bastardy isn't often a joke; owing to the ire mentions of the affair elicit from lady karstark. called the grey son mainly due to his habit of wearing a neutral grey garb (armour, clothing, even his saddlebag and sheath are all shades of grey) & the grey of his sealskin pelted cloak, his half-brother and father had taken to wearing black chainmail, so this also made him stand out as the grey 'son', whilst also serving as a misnomer due to his bastardy. this colour motif originally stemmed from his wearing of harrion's hand-me-downs; they were often faded.

general ho.t.d verse: he was already serving as the ruling lord of karhold at the start of the dance. yoren is the direct descendent of the founder of their house, karlon stark. yoren became lord of karhold after his father, kerron karstark, suffered a horrible fall from his horse and sustained a level of paralysis. kerron became angry and resentful after his accident, lashing out at his family and, briefly (before he was removed from public), towards his men and people. he now keeps himself locked away in his room, seperate from his wife, and sees no one bar a maester and his servants. yoren was castellan for six years, and when he was twenty two, he officially took over rule from his father who hadn't been seen in several years.

details. age & canon ref. dance era. birth: 103AC — the year jaehaerys targaryen, the old king, dies and the year viserys i targaryen is crowned king. yoren will be around twenty-six years old at the beginning of the civil war, and around twenty-eight when it concludes. game era. birth: 277AC — the same year as garland tyrell is born. yoren will be around twenty-one at the beginning of a game of thrones (aka. season 1), and he will be around twenty-eight approaching the two final seasons.

personality traits. + summary.

(hotd) — there is a spiteful part of him that, due to his fathers accident and behaviour placing him as castellan and then lord, he wants to experience more than just karhold and lordship. this conflicts with his firmness in being northernborn and a dedicated leader, so he tries to balance both. he uses his duties as a way to avoid a marriage, claiming that he will once his father is 'well' (an impossibility) ... to allow him to remain uncommitted in at least one of the two great aspects of his life, he's openly flirtatious and arguably promiscuous, at least by the standards of someone who 'should' be married at this point. he cares greatly about his mother, but she has become more and more dedicated to the gods and less in her family since the accident, his only sibling is a brother four years his junior. going into the dance, house karstark follows house stark's support of the blacks. [note: there is no karstark lore in the targaryen era, so details are up to plotting!] (got) — he has somewhat of a chip on his shoulder at being a very clear outsider, like seeing a life he can't have though a thin pane of glass; just out of reach. it's tied less so to the concept of being a lord, or titled, but more that he knows his only kin in the region are no better than passing acquaintences. part of him does wish he had the authority to act as reckless as he feels sometimes, but being half northern and half reachborn, he also feels less valid in defending himself as being worthy of being at karhold. positive. adventurous, appreciative, charismatic & charming, dedicated, dutiful, firm, hardworking, honourable, leaderly, observant, persuasive, romantic, secure, strong, tolerant. neutral. aggressive, competitive, deceptive, dominating, high-spirited, noncommittal, proud, religious/mystical, sensual, stubborn. negative. assertive, brutal, cynical, disrespectful, hedonistic, hostile, impatient, impulsive, opportunistic, petty, possessive, reactive, resentful, strong-willed, superstitious, unrestrained.

v. bloody red keep ; in this timeline, at the outset of game of thrones yoren meets a brother of the nights watch, a 'wandering crow', brother yoren. the nights watchman is to journey up the kings road to collect prisoners for the wall, yoren volunteers and goes with him as to see outside of karhold and the north and learn more about the reach, which is where his mother hailed from. primary location is kings landing. using his bastardy to his advantage, he is able to slip through the initial northern noose that the lannisters put around kings landing, he is blending in as he gathers information on news of his house, house stark and the north, and includes/will include learning of his fathers execution at robb starks hand. (ref. yoren of the nights watch is the crow who intercepts arya at nedd starks beheading and escorts her out of the capital; my yoren would have been seperated from the party between the arresting and execution of lord stark, and unless otherwise stated, his knowledge and opinions are based on the canon events.)

v. they were terrible & red ; this follows more canon timeline lore. rickard is executed by robb, harrion is under lannister capture. his great-uncle arnolf karstark becomes castellan and declares for stannis & house baratheon, yoren's outrage caused a massive verbal row to break out; he argued that neither rickard nor harrion would follow someone who champions the lord of light and denounces the old gods. arnolf had yoren put in a cell for his 'treasonous talk', with the threat of being sent to the wall if he continued. yoren isn't fully aware of the secret alliance with the boltons that his great-uncle has planned, though he had overheard suspicious clips of conversation that would later make sense. when his half-sister alys karstark flees to the wall to seek out jon snow – yoren is tortured and questioned despite having no information. at his earliest opportunity he escapes after much planning; murdering a guard and stealing a horse, making for either the wall or winterfell (for jon snow and his half-sister alys, or to house stark; timeline dependent)

Considering the the leaks and fact that I don’t need a sex life because D&D will fuck me all over again I’m just gonna write my portayal out now.

       This verse is written after Daenerys has died in battle with Viserion and the Night King. Before doing so she picked an heir to the Iron Throne, should she fall in battle. She knew that Jon would be a good time, but would be miserable in the position, Daenerys chose Sansa. Their relationship in this verse was strained but they ultimately came to and understanding of each other before Daenerys’ death. You can read the transition of power HERE. Jon may or may not have lost his life during the same battle. It will be mostly thread dependent to whether he is alive or not. The characters that have been chosen for certain positions can be changed for threads so that your muse can explore different avenues.

Summary:

       Once Sansa is given the power from Daenerys, she starts making plans to pull Cersei from the Iron Throne. Their army is in tatters after defeating the Long Night and they take time to rest. Sansa is guided by Tyrion as her Hand, Yohn Royce, Brienne, Vary, Missandei, and Grey Worm. Despite Daenerys’ letter, many are still hesitant about following her as queen, but there is little choice.

       The remaining combination of the Northern army, the Unsullied, and the Dothraki come south to lay siege to King’s Landing. ( If any of the dragons are alive, Sansa keeps them away from King’s Landing. She knows Cersei has a scorpion capable of harming them and has had plenty of time to prepare more. Her suspicions are confirmed when she stands outside King’s Landing. She’s not their mother, but she promised Daenerys she would protect them. ) The exception is that Yohn Royce stays in Winterfell with Bran as castellan while Sansa is away. It’s long and people die, but the majority of the city’s inhabitants are alive at the end of it all. The sack of King’s Landing goes smoothly and only a few skirmishes have to be put down before Sansa can enter the city and into the Red Keep.

       Gregor Clegane is dead at the hands of his brother, Sandor. Cersei is being held under guard where she can’t hurt herself or anyone else. Sansa interrogates Cersei herself with Brienne. Once there is no more information to be gained, Cersei is offered a last meal and told she will be executed at dawn. ( If Cersei is pregnant, a different deal will be struck so that the child may be born and live. Sansa gives her word that the child will grow up and be loved under her protection. This also goes for if Tommen and Myrcella are alive like HERE. ) Sansa never sits on the Iron Throne. Instead she had a wooden chair brought out with furs and cushions to sit and rule in. After a long deliberation and discussion, Sansa orders the Iron Throne to be dismantled. The iron is used for molds of the heroes who fell in the Battle for the Dawn. Winterfell will become the new capital and King’s Landing will become a refugee port city.

       Since Sansa has decided to rule from Winterfell and is farthest away from the rest of the kingdom, a council with representatives from all the kingdoms. They meet at least once every three months and more so if any Prince/Princess or Lord/Lady requests or Sansa calls them into order. The meeting placed travels between the Kingdoms each meeting so that no one seat has control. Note: House seats, council members, and Queensguard are up for change within threads.

       After winter, Sansa also creates a council put together by Missandei of Naath and Grey Worm for the smallfolk to be able to speak more directly to her. The representatives are voted for by the smallfolk outside of the liege lord’s power. The goal was to break the wheel and this is the start.

     The remaining forces of the Unsullied are allowed to choose their own lives. They are free to leave for other cities, find homes of their own within Westeros, or continue to serve in the guard. Sansa makes is so the Dothraki can return to their home to rebuild. Of course any who would like to stay are welcome.

Remaining headcanons

When someone is hanged, Sansa is the one who cuts the rope instead of someone else. She who passes the sentence, swings the sword. She follows this as best as she can with her skill set.

The Queensguard isn’t required to take vows like the form guard. Sansa saw what kind of men took those vows and how it protected no one. She onlys asks those she knows are trust worthy to protect her. 

Her children are all named Stark, no matter who she does or does not marry.

The Sept of Baelor is rebuilt and renamed The Sept of the Dawn. It has all the statues for the Seven, but it also has a place for those who worship R'hllor.

Weirwood trees have splices cut so they can be replanted in godswoods across Westeros.

With house Frey removed from power, the Reeds take over control of the Twins.

I have a Highgarden AU and I could maybe see this happening. It would be hard at first because Willas being a cripple and if her father is still alive he won’t want a cripple to marry his daughter. Also even herself would have a hard time with that disability because of the way she was raised. 

Seriously here is how her brothers react to Bran to support what I just said : Harrion Karstark, the oldest of Lord Rickard’s sons, bowed, and his brothers after him, yet as they settled back in their places he heard the younger two talking in low voices, over the clatter of wine cups. “… sooner die than live like that,” muttered one, his father’s namesake Eddard, and his brother Torrhen said likely the boy was broken inside as well as out, too craven to take his own life.

But I could see it being a slow building ship because you know in the end Alys marries a WILDLING so why not a cripple. Willas has many qualities to win her over. Like HORSES ! She loves horses.

ngl I was tempted to say Dacey Mormont initially .  .  . honestly nonnie, I love that question? I’ve been giggling to myself since I got it, but I gotta admit it’s a really tough one and I’m still not 100% about it. so let me preface this by saying that naturally all of my men are manly in their very own ways and all of them also have very feminine sides as I think everyone does and should because hey, fuck gender normativity, right? also I’m entirely aware that everyone has a different definition of “manly” so this is .  .  . well, my personal take on my personal blog which I imagine is what you’re looking for.

personally I’d say the manliest man amongst my muses is Harrion Karstark.

Harrion is a machine of a man, very tall, barrel-chested, beard, long thick hair, your typical lumberjack type who is not all too concerned with aesthetics but still looks beautiful in a rugged way. he’s the type who will almost break his back working hard all day and then just crave a cold beer at the end of the day. he snores. loudly. he is hands-on with everything, doesn’t really have an ego, he is incredibly protective, too. but he is also the definition of a human teddy bear. he’s not afraid to show emotion, he’ll hug and cuddle people, he adores the shit out of his little sister, his family is everything to him, he’s honest, upstanding, honorable, and loyal. he can apologize and self-reflect. he’ll also break your face in if you manage to piss him off. he laughs, he cries, he rages, he loves, eats 3 tons of food a day, but knows how to use cutlery. he’s the guy who’d smash his head into the face of the Lannister soldiers dragging him to Harrenhal but at the same time he’s the guy who sat and talked kindly with a crippled Bran when others were making fun of him .  .  . yep, I think he’s my manliest muse. and I love and adore him to bits in case that wasn’t obvious before.

alright this blog is coming back. I’ll have to work on the muse page and probably make a google doc or carrd or something but for now here’s the update:

POST BATTLE FOR THE DAWN “WTF HAPPENED TO MY MUSES” #01

because I feel inspired by the post ep. 3 headcanons thrown out by @zcldrizes @killthebxy and @wolfqueennamedstark I felt a little need to bring all my beautiful followers up to speed as well on eventual canon divergences and post-battle whereabouts of my abundance of boys. it won’t be too long, nor too detailed, no worries, but consider this a small heads up as to where my muses are now that the battle is over, and what I may have significantly changed for them.

Beric Dondarrion died, as he did canonically. I couldn’t wish for a better death for this hero, so I am keeping the canon. in any eventual AU scenario, Beric will naturally be gravely wounded, but he’ll heal. he will not join the battle at King’s Landing, but instead travel to the Wall and join the Night’s Watch to continue doing what he’s done for the past years of his life: protect the people without flying any banners, nor heeding the orders of any king or queen.

Brynden Tully has survived the siege of Riverrun but ultimately died in the Battle for the Dawn. his old age didn’t allow him to fight as well as he used to, but he managed to take a few dozen Others with him. he died defending the courtyard alongside Lyanna Mormont. his body will be brought to Riverrun and sent down the trident the same way his brother’s was.

Gendry is entirely show compliant with the exception of the scene-we-don’t-speak-of. in the defense of the ramparts, Gendry sustained only minor injuries, and was one of the first to start pulling survivors and wounded from the rubbles of Winterfell. very much living up to his father’s nature, he took partial command in overseeing their treatments, while Jon, as tagging along with @killthebxy‘s headcanons, Jon was basically knocked out cold for a few days. someone, ahemahem, at this point might consider acknowledging him and making him a true Baratheon.

Grenn has survived the Battle at Castle Black and joined Jon in the Battle for the Dawn. he is with Edd and Sam up on the ramparts. still weakened from the fall of Eastwatch which almost cost Grenn his life, he’s not in the best condition to fight but he does it anyways. other than a few bruises and cuts, he is fine though. in accordance with @thedolorous‘ headcanon of Edd surviving, Grenn is the one who carries Edd’s wounded body off the battlefield and to safety. post battle, Grenn will spend most of his time looking after Edd and Jon, glad that at least this time he did manage to protect the people he loves.

Harrion Karstark was stationed outside the castle walls along with the small number of soldiers still left from his House. he lost the majority of his forces in the battle, leaving House Kartstark reduced to a number way below one hundred people, including cooks and maids. Harrion survives with a few injuries. after the battle, he immediately goes to find his sister. depending on the headcanons of Alys’ muns, he will either find her alive or dead. he will also, once more, pledge his allegiance to House Stark, accept Daenerys as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms but still press for Northern independence. Harrion will not join the battle for King’s Landing, considering that he has no soldiers left, and his priority will be to rebuild his House from basically nothing.

Jaime Lannister remains canon compliant. I am very happy with Jaime’s arc in season 8 so far and see no reason to change any of it. he thus survived the Battle for the Dawn, also fortunately with only minor injuries. while he dreads what is to come now, Jaime knows he cannot return to King’s Landing. he will carefully advise in the plans to take King’s Landing, but for a very long time will refuse to make any promises as to whether or not he’ll join the war against his sister. a good chance for some conflict, and various people convincing him to go fight.

Jeor Mormont has survived the mutiny at Craster’s Keep. for the Battle of the Dawn, Jon initially insisted that Jeor should stay in the Crypts, allegedly to defend the women and children, deeply offending the former Lord Commander. he was reuinted with his son, a meeting that was rather cool, but eventually ended in him forgiving Jorah, and accepting him as a true Mormont once again, even returning his son’s right to Bear Island to him. Jeor dies defending the inner courtyard at the side of his niece Lyanna.

TINY MUSE UPDATE

I know I promised myself I wouldn’t add new muses before my inbox and drafts were empty but after extensive plotting via discord, I have decided to, at least somewhat, break that little promise to myself. so from tomorrow onward if everything goes as planned, you peeps will have good old Harrion Karstark to bother around here. and since Harrion is an absolute genius who manages to get captured by the enemy whenever he leaves the house apparently, there is next to nothing we know about him. so            here’s what to expect!

Harrion is the eldest son of Rickard Karstark. remember? that grumpy old git whose other two sons were killed by Jaime Lannister during Robb’s rebellion, and who, in turn, killed those two little Lannister boys after which Robb chopped his head off? yeah, that guy. even before his brothers were killed, Harrion got himself captured by the Lannisters and was imprisoned in Harrenhall for         basically the rest of the war. Roose Bolton eventually frees him, but given that Roose, at the time, already worked against the Starks, he sent Harrion off with a handful of Karstark men to take Duskendale, which by then is basically a death trap. instead of dying however, Harrion is captured again and then imprisoned at Maidenpool, where he canonically still is.

Harrion, after the death of his father, of course is the new Lord of Karhold, which however pisses his uncle Arnolf off because, well, he’d like Karhold for himself. so Arnolf plans to a) wed Harrion’s little sister Alys to his son Cregan, and b) declare for Stannis, hoping that this will set the Lannister off into executing Harrion. with Alys married to Cregan, Karhold would then ultimately fall to them. which isn’t a bad plan, but thank god for Jon Snow, because Alys finds refuge with him and Jon, seeing through the plan, eventually has her wed the Magnar of Thenn, essentially saving Harrion’s line of the family, and also rats Arnolf off to Stannis, who then has a couple of Karstarks executed.

now the ultimate plan of course is that Harrion is eventually freed/manages to escape from Maidenpool, and to return north to his little sister. so here’s how I plan to play Harrion from then on out, which is interesting to basically any Northerner

despite House Karstark declaring for House Bolton after Rickard dies, Harrion remains loyal to the Starks. he doesn’t love Robb for executing his father, but he is grateful enough to Jon for saving Alys, plus Roose in the end had betrayed him too, so no love is left for the Boltons. will he be happy to side with Stannis? we’ll see.

he’s not happy about Alys’ betrothal to Sigorn, but he sees the necessity of the arrangement.

overall, Harrion has been described as much more mellow than his father, so chances are that he is one of the few actually reasonable Karstarks along with his sister. he, for instance, unlike his brothers, didn’t mock or laugh about Bran for being a cripple when he greeted the Karstarks upon their arrival at Winterfell, but instead was very courteous and kind to him.

he is still considered a fierce warrior, and is a very tall, broad man with long dark hair, a beard, and the trademark greyish-blue eyes of the Karstarks.

this is a personal HC but Harrion is already in his late 20s by the time he goes to war, and enters his mid-30s by the time he is freed. he has been married to a girl from House Umber, but she unfortunately died in childbirth and the baby was stillborn.

as for HBO show canon: again Harrion was captured at the beginning of the war and spent five years imprisoned at Harrenhall. after Ramsay’s death and the subsequent reclaiming of Winterfell, Sansa has a conversation with Petyr Baelish, who is then acting castellan of Harrenhall, asking him about the state of the ruined castle. Petyr off-handedly mentions a few remaining prisoners, one of them being the Lord of Karhold. Sansa sends for Harrion to be freed immediately, and he is brought to Winterfell where he can recover and figure out what to do and where his loyalties lie. an important note: Harrion does not like Daenerys, and he will fiercly oppose the idea of her ruling the North, given that half his family died in a war for Northern independence, and their deaths then would have been for nothing. he will be very outspoken about that. he also will not support Jon as King in the North, believing that since Jon is a member of the Night’s Watch and may not hold title, the title and seat should go to Sansa.

Beric Dondarrion. has trouble with his hand-eye coordination since losing his eye and with it his depth perception, and thus is occasionally prone to knocking things over unintentionally. Brynden Tully. despite having a trout as his House sigil, he hates the taste of them. he prefers bass.Gendry. continually convinces himself that Daenerys’ dragons are basically just big, scaly horses, so they terrify him less. Grenn. can pee his own name in the snow. he’d try more words but he can’t write anything else.Harrion Karstark. often gets annoyed with his own hair, but is too proud to cut it. hair ties are a blessing though. Jaime Lannister. now too wonders about Orson’s beetles far too much, and then mentally cusses Tyrion out.Jeor Mormont. is probably more annoyed by his raven than the rest of the Night’s Watch combined but unfortunately loves the bird to bits at the same time. this fine gentleman here. I’m a little baffled that very few playpartners seem to care for him, when Varys is one of the few of my muses that can logically interact with literally anybody, and he can be of use to literally anybody. though I’d also love for Harrion Karstark, and my Greyjoys to get more attention, most likely with a lot of plotting needed.
