Peggy had been the one to teach Steve how to fight in his new body, which meant she knew all his moves and how to use them against him.

Pinned under his much smaller wife, Steve stared up at her, the florescent lights giving her some sort of halo. If he had any sense he shouldn't find her irresistible right now.

But he does, and he can't even hide it, staring at her like she's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.

"Thank you, Peg." It was odd getting to celebrate his birthday, the last couple years in the future he hadn't done much, nor had he really wanted to, the most he'd done was buy himself a cupcake.

But now he was home, and while he couldn't think of anything he particularly wanted for his birthday, he wouldn't begrudge Peggy wanting to do something for him.

Kara sucked in a deep breath as she looked down at the test. Biting down on her lower lip, she tossed it in the trash as she heard her husband walk through the door. Spinning around and smiling , Kara wrapped her arms around him. "Hey handsome. You're home early! @amarvelousmencgerie

"Hello, Gorgeous." Steve said stealing a kiss, he was home early which was rare in their line of work, he had to come home and surprise her.

"Are you surprised? I thought we could order take out and have a romantic night in, what do you think?"

His granddaughter was honestly one of his favorite people in this world, so a surprise visit from her was always welcome. Maggie reminded him so much of Peggy, smart as a whip and kind-hearted.

He wasn't exactly sure how long he'd been down here, punching this punching bag, but it must have been long enough that Peggy noticed that he was no longer in their bed.

When he felt her arms slipped around his waist, Steve stilled, sighing as he leaned back into her.

"I didn't mean to wake you, Sweetheart. Everything's okay."

"I almost forgot." He hadn't really celebrated much in recent years, and since coming home he was more focused on readjusting to this time period.

From the moment he'd made the decision to go home, Steve's stomach was in knots.

There was always the nagging fear that Peggy had moved on from him or no longer wanted him.

But home he went, he had a plan to explain everything before trying anything physical. But as soon as the door opened and the immediate shock wore off, Peggy's hands were cradling his face, and her lips were on his.

God, he'd missed her so much.

Hands coming to rest at her waist, Steve smiled and kissed her back.

"Hello, sweetheart."

Steve had prepared a whole speech, he was going to explain as much as he could with out putting the timeline at risk. But before he could get any words out, Peggy's lips were on his.

How many times had he dreamed of kissing her again? The last time she had kissed him, had been in that car before he had boarded the Valkyrie.

Pulling her close, Steve kissed her in return, before pulling away for air.

"Well, that is one way to welcome me home."

Steve groaned. He wasn't the kind of person who slept in by nature, but sometimes exhaustion won out.

Barely registering the threat in his sleep addled brain, he reached out towards Peggy.

"Hm... five more minutes... and come back to bed."

Howard Stark was usually a jokester, so for him to be serious and stern was... unnerving.

Steve did as he was told and sat, he had a feeling that whatever had caused this reaction wasn't good.

"So... I'm guessing Peggy told you about Private Lorraine."

The only man alive who had been able to pick Steve up like a sack of potatoes and carry him away from a fight was Bucky, but that had been before the serum and Steve's feelings hadn't changed on it.

He hated it.

Yes, he was being a stubborn ass, but that didn't mean Thor got to throw him over his shoulder and physically drag him away from the fight.
