The Winter Court had it's own kind of beauty, but there was something equally as beautiful about the splash of red amongst all that white.

"Like the flowers we decorate the hall with during Solstice?"

@prythiansfuture The Winter Court gardens were quiet, snow gently floating down on a silent landscape. In the middle of this monochromatic world was Bianca kneeling next to a winter rose, a splash of color in all that white.

Footsteps behind her, the heiress of Winter looked up and smiled.

"Mama, come look!"

Viviane was leaning against on of the pillars in the garden, just enjoying the snowfall and watching her daughter bustle about. There was nothing more pleasing that being out in the fresh falling snow. Other courts may disagree, but those of the winter Court didn't feel the cold like other did, and appreciated the beauty of it.

As it seemed like her daughter had found something, clearly pausing, Viviane moved to see what it was, and as her daughter smiled up at her, warmth filled her heart. "It's beautiful my little snowflake."

"When the weather gets a little more mild, we could plant many flowers hardy to the cold." she mused lightly, if only so that her daughter's smile would shine as it did now.

Bianca squeezed her brother's hand. He'd always supported her, something she was grateful for.

Bianca reached for her sister and pulled her into a hug.

Neve was just as precious to their court as Bianca was, but unlike Bianca, Neve was brave enough to defy their father and leave home.

Eira was older, and Bianca would always revere her cousin as one of the strongest and bravest females she'd ever met.

But that statement her cousin just made really reinforced the fact that Eira was a better servant of their court than Bianca was.

Her cousin wasn't afraid to die for what was right.

Bianca tried to dry her eyes, but the tears did not stop flowing.

"Mama, I love my home and my people, but I feel like such an imposter, like there is more that I should be doing?"

Her father would never allow Bianca to leave the Winter Court on her own, and she understood why, after the massacre of the Winter Court's children, every child was precious. Especially a child of a High Lord.

"I don't disagree," Bianca said. Pants were practical and good for tasks such as horseback riding and fighting.

"But there is something satisfying about winning a fight in a beautiful dress."

Bianca nodded and rang for a servant. When a maid appeared, Bianca smiled kindly at the female.

"Two hot chocolates, please, put cinnamon in mine. Thank you." Once the maid had scurried off, Bianca gestured to Roisin.

"Come sit by the fire, I know those not from Winter get cold easily."

Taking the scroll, Bianca scanned the words, confirming what the Daughter of Spring said. Bianca did like Sienna. They were around the same age.

"It is curious. The celebration is in Spring and not Day." Sienna's father was the heir of Day. Shouldn't his daughter have her coming out in Day Court?

"I will pass the invitation on to my parents. Thank you, Roisin. Can I get you anything to eat or drink? You've traveled so far."

"I like crocuses," Bianca said with a smile. Those hardy little purple blooms always cheered Bianca up when they pushed through the snow.

"Maybe we could plant something colorful around the memorial for the slain children, I think that would be nice."
