Not to be a depressing feminist and filthy commy on tumblr dot com but I worry about how... prevasive the narrative of "tradwife-ism" is becoming among ppl. Especially young women who are just starting their professional careers.

I get it, work is grueling and eats away your days and the pay you get from it is likely not enough to live a middle class life.

But the fact is that many of the men around you (and thus are likely to end up with) are suffering from the very same socio-economic conditions as you. Jobs are harder to get and harder to keep. You're never safe from company restructuring or from your place of employment being shut down for x y z reasons.

Part time jobs usually meant for students have hundreds of applications, from actual students and others who are just trying to make ends meet. Rent isn't getting any lower and neither are food prices (at least where i am) and everyone will do anything they can to make sure themselves and theirs are kept sheltered and fed.

Social safety nets are being dismantled as we speak and unionizing is difficult (again at least where i am). Nows not the time to try and find leisure and domestic bliss. On the contrary, making sure you are as employable as possible, have as many opportunities and open doors as possible is a necessity now more than ever.

And even that is hard!!!!! Professional certifications cost money, are concentrated in some places, require time that you could (and should!) be used to wind down. But again, this is not a time where your needs are being accounted for, and so I feel we must plan accordingly.

I don't even think that most men wish to lord finances over you, but again they are just as vulnerable to all of the above as women are. Besides, financial strife can make anyone difficult to deal with. We're not at our best when we don't know where our next meal will come from, or when choosing between paying rent or some other bill. Your partner won't 100% turn into an abusive asshole, just a complicated person to deal with. And just look at how we treat downtrodden/homeless ppl who have make the "mistake" of being rude or mildly disagreeable in public.

I just think that, at a time where job security is virtually non-existent, social safety nets are being dismantled and education is under threat of defunding, telling people -women in particular- that they don't need to work is irresponsible.

Being a stay at home spouse/parent is work. It is honorable and much needed work. Unfortunately, it is not work that pays. Yes you probs get something from your spouse, but its not a "wage"/work experience that you can put on a resume.

Most people who come out take certifications/diplomas to start anew and as previously mentioned that can be hard, especially if you have kids to take care of. Finding a remote job is complicated and still eats at more of your time but its better than nothing. Same for part time too. You don't want to start looking when you actually need it.

Had a flu and lost my sense of taste and smell for like 2 days abd ut came back this morning. God bless the mellow sweetness of wheat that lays down on my tongue with each cereal like an adult lays on a flower field. God bless the frank taste of my late, the bitterness of the coffee spearheading its way through my mouth and soothed immediately by the reassuring hug of warm milk, trailing behind it, like hearing something right after you saw it.

the way these two had no idea what they were doing (clem raising aj. violet leading the school) yet now they support each other and as a team are trying to help each other figure it out together. theyre making it up as they go but they at least know they have each other to rely on for whatever happens next

clem never had all the answers but she was trying her best to not let that show. violet becomes someone clem knows she can rely on no matter what (standing up for her and aj and their place at the school, "when i heard you call for help i didnt even think"), and clem becomes someone violet can rely on in turn (using her experience to help violet lead and protect the school and helping her take care of all these kids). theyre each others ROCKS!!!!!!! THEYRE A TEAM!!!!!!!!!!

honestly one of the reasons letting vi get taken hurts so much is that no matter what she WAS the leader of ericson!! vi (the wallflower that she was) steps up as soon as aj is in trouble to protect him And clem, then continues to fall into that leadership position because its not like anyone else is trying to keep everyone together. and even though she has no idea what shes doing or going to do about the army coming to take them all away, shes still trying her best, and clem helps her figure it out as they begin to lead together as a TEAM!! neither of them would be where they are without the influence of the other (vi stepping up as leader, clem being allowed back in). and you can just..... let her be taken in spite of all that.......... no wonder she was so heartbroken in that cell how could she not be

but if you save her it just solidifies their building relationship. that theyll always have the others back no matter what. and vi solidifies this even further by shooting minnie to save clem. all the little reassuring smiles they give each other.. making sure the other is holding up ok in moments of stress... im gonna go cry now

when I first started watching gameplays and learned violet was a love interest I went into season four pretty skeptical.. as a sapphic person sometimes game companies don’t always do the best with their wlw relationships

but BOY was I wrong

violet is (personally) my favorite love interest and my favorite route to go along with. I think her and clem work very well together and they bring out each other’s softer/more vulnerable side which is really nice to see :( their relationship feels so genuine I love how awkward and cute it is 😭

they’re two very damaged people who learn to trust each other and it’s really really sweet :( also I love the pure drama of minerva being one of the main antagonists for the season because there’s something so funny to me about it being violets current girlfriend vs violets ex girlfriend and violets just watching like. Yoinks! 😵😵

ALSO this does Not mean I don’t like louis. he’s in my top five favorite characters of the whole SERIES I just prefer him and clem platonically :) but I 100% respect clouis

tldr I like violentine a lot. I rotate them around in my head like a beyblade
