Title: Lunar Eclipse Masquerade
Laito pt. 2
Rating: NSFW | PG-17 (language, sexual content)
Word Count: 2,721
Pairing: Laito x Yuki (m/m)
ጠYuki is roped into attending a Masquerade after being kicked out by Laito. However, that might not be so bad if Laito attends as well. áŚ
Mun Yu: We made it to the second wave of LEM. I hope you all enjoyed the set up, and are ready for the main event. Our Lunar Eclipse is in full swing as the masquerade beings. These chapters will be longer.
Additionally: I would love to thank @dialovers-translations for translating the Ayato and Laito versus CD which show cased them during the Lunar Eclipse. It helped me greatly to write his personality.

Despite what most people think, demonic beings are very social creatures. The elites hold countless balls and parties, celebrating their immortality together, and entertaining one another with stories. Typically, they are done in celebration for something â though this is not always the case. All types of beings from across the Demon Realm will come if the host is of high enough prestige.
There would be no such host if it was not for Karlheinz. Seated as the head of the Bat Clan (vampires), Karlâs reach spans far. Being the widow for the former Demon Kingâs daughter, and having children of the first blood, an invitation from the Vampire King is not one to refuse. Though why would you? In his immaculate castle within the Demon Realm, Eden Castle, it is always quite the spectacle. While the celebrations held in his Human World mansion are nice, nothing compares to a true night of pleasure within the true home of the King.
On this night, there was to be a Masquerade in honor of the first Lunar Eclipsed Moon in over two years. While this night may serve each species differently, the idea to celebrate its return was simply too tempting. For this reason, Karlheinz took it upon himself â or rather â his house, to host the event. This extended to his offspring as well, regardless of their personal agenda. Members of every social elite race accepted the offer, and gathered for a truly unforgettable evening.
How did this happen? Yuki couldnât help but wonder as he stood in an unfamiliar ballroom. No longer in the apartment he and Laito shared, Yuki was at â what he was told â the true home of Dr. Reinhartâs friend. Given a room to stay in, and clothes to change into, Yuki was being forced to attend some kind of ball that the master of the house was hosting.
It had been a little under a week since Laito kicked him out. Yuki didnât know what to do. He was lucky that Dr. Reinhart had given him a cell phone to contact him with, should anything happen. The good Doctor was kind enough to find Yuki a new place to stay, though it was a very strange place.
Yuki hadnât really left his given room since arriving, being too depressed to leave. A beautiful woman kept checking in on him, Yuki could only assume she was the Masterâs wife. She was really nice. Which only made him feel worse, since he was in no state to replay her kindness. It wasnât until just last night she came in with a long dress, and explained to him that he would be attending the Masquerade being held.
Yuki tried to protest, but there was something⌠compelling about how she spoke. He didnât even mind that they wanted him to wear a dress. She had even gotten him a wig, just like the one Laito used to have him wear â though this one was styled for the event. Yuki couldnât help but feel uneasy about doing this, but something was screaming at him to comply.
So now here he was, dressed in a green, floral dress. A long blonde wig, framing around his face â which was now covered by a mask decorated green with butterflies. Yuki felt slightly more at ease, knowing that nobody would recognize him with the mask on. Or at least he hoped. When he first got into the room, everything was so terrifying. However, after some encouragement from that woman, Yuki felt strangely calm.
The normal urge to run and hide was gone, and he felt confident enough to stay in the ballroom. There were a lot of people, most of them were ridiculously beautiful. It was kind of strange seeing so many in one place. Although, all of them had a certain air â something that Yuki could only compare to that of Laito. In fact the entire estate felt like it was in another world. Yuki couldnât quite explain the feeling, but it made him rather uneasy. Like he didnât belong here.
As he stood rather off to the side of the dance floor, some men would come up to speak with him. Each wanting a dance, but Yuki would always turn them down â surprised he could even muster up the words to do so. He may be forced to attend, but that didnât mean he had to dance. Or at least that was how he felt before he saw a familiar face.
Through the crowded room, Yuki could see a couple of people he knew. Ayato and Yuko. Kanato and Yuuki. Even Reiji was there. Seeing all of them made his heart race. Not for any sense of nostalgia â but for the hope that- if they were here, then maybe⌠With that half thought, Yuki started moving about the room. They were here. Which meant he had to be here. Laito had to be somewhere. Even if he was mad at Yuki. Even if he really did hate him. If he could just see him. Just like always. Seeing him. Being around him. That was enough.
Yuki couldnât stop those thoughts from screaming in his mind as he searched â almost frantically â for his beloved senpai. âExcuse me, Miss?â A sudden voice snapped him into reality as he searched, now at the other side of the ballroom. Yuki looked up to see a rather tall â or at least taller than him- young man. He didnât look scary- apart from his size. âSorry to startle you⌠I⌠Well I had thought you were waiting for someone, but perhaps⌠would you like to dance with me?â
In a quick response, Yuki almost rejected him. That was until his eyes locked onto the one thing he had been searching for. Dressed in a white suite, complimented by a matching fedora, a stunning broach on his tie, and a Golden Mask. Yuki would recognize Laito in anything â or at least, he hoped. He was across the room, speaking to another woman. The urge to run to him was overwhelming. As he reached out a hand to call out â the strange gentleman before him took his hand. âAh! Thank you! Letâs go onto the floor.â
Yuki was unable to protest, as the man wrapped his other arm around his waist, and led him onto the dance floor. Yuki wanted to move away, but there were too many people around. There was no choice but to go along with it. As the music played, the man led Yuki in a dance â of which he had no coordination for â Yukiâs eyes searched for Laito once again. Everything felt blurred, as the man twirled and moved Yukiâs body through the dance.
It was almost nauseating. Faces all whooshing past, all wearing masks. Every now and again he felt like he saw Laito, but in a flash he was gone. Again and Again. His piercing eyes seemed to tease him as they locked in and out of focus. It was almost enough to bring Yuki to tears. He felt sick. Felt anxious. Alone. Whatever confidence he had before, was all but gone now. All he wanted was to be saved from this. Saved from this dance. Saved from this place. Saved from himself.
Just as he was about to cry out, a force pulled him. Not the partner that was dragging him about the dance floor. Someone else, a different hand, lifting him away. Yukiâs heart skipped a beat as he looked towards his rescuer. Met with emerald, the bright lighting from the room seemed to cause this person to glow. âMy my⌠will you follow me anywhere, nfu?â
Tears fell from Yukiâs eyes as his savior freed him from the endless dance. âSenpaiâŚ!â His voice cried out as they moved quickly from the floor. Past the crowds. Out of the room.
Yuki felt like he was flying. Once again, Laito was saving him. Yuki couldnât help but curse his heart as it raced. This hope - faith - that Laito cared⌠he just couldnât control himself. No matter how many times he was pushed away, the smallest thing brought him back. The unending admiration. The desire. Love. Yukiâs emotions swirled inside, and no matter how any rational thought tried to talk him out of it, he couldnât stop.
The two of them moved through the expanding castle, though Yuki knew not how Laito was navigating it. Eventually they came to a room, and Laito moved them both inside. Yuki was somewhat tossed inside, causing him to trip on his dress. Luckily he was able to catch himself on a rather large piano. The instrument protested with a loud thump, and the rustling of keys.
âBe careful with that Stalker-kun.â Laitoâs voice sounded hollow. The vampire did not bother to help Yuki regain his footing. Instead move to sit at the grand piano. âThis was one of my first, youâll break her, poor old thing.â
Yuki lifted his dress out from under his foot, and steadied himself. âSorryâŚâ His voice trembled as he tried to take in everything that had just happened. The two were silent towards one another. Laito playing with the dust that had gathered on the piano keys. Yuki staring down at his hands, clasping them together against his dress.
He wanted to speak. Wanted to thank Laito for saving him, though he knew to Laito that wasnât the case. What could he say at this moment? He hadnât seen Laito since heâd closed the door in his face. Sure there were probably millions of things to say, but at this moment, Yuki couldnât think of any. He couldnât even bring himself to look anywhere but at his hands.
âI didnât think it was you at first.â Laitoâs voice finally broke through the silence. âWhy would my Stalker be here of all places? Especially after I had just told him to get lost.â He continued, playing random keys, seeming to be testing the sound. âYet, here you are. Dressed as you are. Did you know I was coming? You were there for the message, such a creepy Stalker you are, listening in on my private conversations.â
Yukiâs heart thumped in his ear while Laito spoke to him. He honestly had no clue. Vaguely he could recall Laito being upset about something from that last evening, but nothing else. âN-No⌠Senpai I had no idea-"
Laito interrupts Yukiâs words by banging on a few keys together. âAh~ Itâs not good to lie Stalker-kun â or should I call you my Bitch-chan now? You put that on for this? Was that man the one who asked you to? Did you cry for him like you always did whenever I had you wear something like that?â
Yuki was confused by Laitoâs words. That man⌠meaning the one he was dancing with? He didnât even know his name, let alone would dress like this for him. âN-No Senpai, I donât even know-" Yuki finally raised his head to look over at Laito, and was at a loss for words by his facial expression. It was unfamiliar.
Laito stands and removes the mask which was covering his face, placing it on the hood of the piano. Without a word, he moves over to Yuki, pinning him in. Leaning over him, Laito places one hand behind Yuki, while the other clears the long hair from his neck. Before Yuki could even process, Laitoâs fangs pierced his throat.
Yuki winces slightly, he couldnât recall the last time Laito fed on him. Since before they moved out. Months. Even though it hurt, Yuki couldnât help but feel happy. If this was all he was good for, Yuki wouldnât mind â so long as he was able to stay. Without thinking, Yukiâs hands grabbed onto Laitoâs arms.
âHmm⌠What's this? You want me to stop?â Laito murmured against the now leaking wound in Yukiâs neck. Almost too quickly, Yuki shook his head, tears already in the corner of his eyes. âNfu~ Laito-kun is in a bad mood⌠So I wonât be gentle.â Laitoâs voice had started with a reminiscent tone that he always has, but it ended quite seriously.
Yuki could feel the blood rush from his body. Almost like it too was drawn to Laito. Want to be with him. The normally lewd vampire fed quietly, aside from the gulps and soft sighs for air. Yuki worried if his blood was no longer pleasing. Just as he was about to ask, Laito drew up for some air.
âHaa~ itâs no good! What am I to do?â He asks looking up, rather than at Yuki. He moves his tongue over the different holes now on Yukiâs neck. âThis blood⌠itâs simply too good~ MmhâŚâ Yukiâs face lights up at Laitoâs words.
â⌠Ahh When I saw someone else with you it did something.â Laito says biting on the other side of Yukiâs neck. â⌠I was so angry, but so excited. Aha⌠perhaps itâs that moon making me so agitated.â Laito peers passed Yuki through a rather large window.
In somewhat of a daze, Yuki looks up at Laito, then turns to look at the moon as well. â⌠Itâs so bigâŚâ He says softly. The smaller male was starting to feel weak, but the moon was rather impressive. It was on full display, and tainted in the color of the sun.
Laito laughs a little, grabbing Yukiâs face, to have him face back towards him. âNfu, now you allow the moon to tempt you away from me~? Naughty Stalker-kunâŚâ Laito moves his hand up Yukiâs face to cause the mask he had been wearing all this time to fall to the ground.
Yuki looked up at Laito, his face flushed from both the blood loss and the affections from the vampire. He was so happy at that moment. All of the hardship. It didnât matter. Laito praised him. Laito saved him. In this moment, there was nothing else. â⌠Senpai⌠I-" Laito covers Yukiâs lips with a finger.
âTonight Iâll place my mark all over you.â He says moving his hands down to pull the shoulder straps of Yukiâs dress. âThis strange feeling⌠I canât fight it. So youâll indulge with me, right? Stalker-kun, nfu~â
Yukiâs eyes widened at Laitoâs words. It had been so long since he had given him any type of affection. All of his emotions came rushing forward. Before he could fully realize what he was doing, his lips were on Laitoâs. Smooshed together in a rather sloppy union. Just as quickly as it began, Yuki pulled back in a panic. âS-S-S-S-Sorry! I just⌠! You were-! I thought-!â
Before Yuki would retreat back into himself, Laito grabs his face and pulls him back into a deeper kiss. This time, dominating the smaller males mouth. Moving his tongue forcefully, wrestling Yuki into easy submission. It was similar to a predator grabbing, wrestling, pinning, and devouring its prey.
Yukiâs mind races with a number of thoughts and emotions, but they all just circle back to Laito. His scent. Touch. Taste. Oddly like iron? Was he actually enjoying this? Did he really want him? Even if it was the moon, he didnât care. At this moment, Laito was kissing him. Not some random woman.
As Laito finally allowed Yuki a break for air, the human felt his legs grow weak. His body nearly fell back onto the long forgotten piano. Laito moves quickly to sink his fangs back into Yukiâs neck, creating two new holes. Marks of ownership. Yukiâs body seemed to react on itâs own, as his hands moved through Laitoâs hair. His voice fills the room, with soft whimpers of pain and moans of pleasure.
âS-SenpaiâŚ! Itâs too⌠Aahn!â Yuki's heart raced. This was all too much to handle. Yet he forced himself to stay awake. If he passed out, hell, even if he blinked, he felt like all of these would come to an end. âMm⌠So deep⌠your fangsâŚâ
âAhaaâŚ" Laito moans, taking a moment to swallow. âStalker-kun ⌠feel me more-!â He says, moving to bite into Yukiâs exposed shoulder. âNfufufu⌠youâll be covered in my marks⌠HaahnâŚâ Laito rips the the right strap of Yukiâs dress completely off. The loose fabric falls, revealing Yukiâs lithe, very male chest. â...Oh⌠I had almost forgottenâŚâ Laito pulls back to get a full view of what lay before him.
Yuki, a panting, hot mess, looks up at Laito. His arms on reflex move up to shield his face. His face, as red as the blood dripping from his neck and shoulder. His small body trembling; from the intense pain and pleasure. âS-Senpai⌠donât⌠stop, pleaseâŚâ His voice was just as loose as his body looked. Fighting his natural instinct to curl up in a ball, Yuki moves the strap from his other shoulder. The dress fell to the floor, leaving him bare in only a pair of boxer briefs.
Laitoâs eyes widened, taking in this new view before him. â... The moons must truly be toying with me. Even now it is compelling me to devour youâŚâ Yuki could feel Laitoâs eyes looking over every inch of him. No feminie clothes to hide the truth. No mask to hide behind. With that thought, Yuki felt a rush of adrenaline. A sense of confidence, to go for this moment.
Before Laito could say anything more, Yuki moved back against the piano. Using the little strength he could muster, he pulls himself onto the large instrument. âYou can⌠have all of meâŚâ Yukiâs voice is quiet, as it took all his confidence to simply expose himself. â... I⌠belong to you⌠Senpai pleaseâŚâ He looks up at his beloved, â... donât leave againâŚâ

I actually meant to save a post like this for my 3-year anniversary of writing Code:Realize, but I am most definitely going to forget, since thatâs in a few months, so Iâll write it now. Forgive me if these seems a little bit messy; itâs quite an emotional (in a good way!) topic, and Iâm a tad bit foggy headed from this dreadful but light head cold.Â
Basically, this is gonna be long, and rambly. Thank you personal blog for giving me grounds to do this. Absolutely no one asked for this, but you know, Iâm in the mood to cry.Â
My name is Pita Pan, some may know me as Lizzy, I started writing with Code:Realize characters on December 21st, 2015, just after completing the first game. This was back in my senior year of high school (I remember playing routes during breaks at school). This was back under my first Rp blog on this site, and the character I picked up for writing was Arsène Lupin, our poster boy gentleman thief, a man who is very dear to my heart.Â
Iâd like to say Code:Realize and the people I met thanks to it were what really got me into otoge for the long run. Iâve made friends that have improved my life, made every day just a little bit better...
...and Iâd like to credit picking up Lupin to a lot of where I am now, writing wise.Â
If weâre getting technical, my first posts as Lupin were Dec. 22nd. CR was not the first otoge I rped, I opened my first rp blog (a multimuse) writing a few characters, inclusive of some Hakuouki characters (namely, but likely not surprisingly, Heisuke). I actually talk about Hakuoukiâs involvement in why Iâm into otoge here, but I think if I hadnât played Hakuouki, Iâm not sure Iâd have even been aware of Code:Realize. I sure as heck wouldnât have written it. Of course, while I connected to some of the people there, in the Hakuouki fandom, I ended up feeling closer to the CR ones.
There were a lot of little, behind the scenes details that make this period of time very special to me. I quickly found that I got along with the other CR rpers that gradually popped up -- we were, by all accounts, a tiny, tiny fandom, which isnât, necessarily, shocking news, considering itâs an otoge fandom.Â
Anyway, writing skill wise, I wasnât exactly where I am now (at all actually). Writing with these people made me want to get better. Better at writing Lupin, better at writing in general. I was motivated to reach a point where I felt comfortable with writing, as comfortable as I felt communicating with the other muns.Â
While I could find many excerpts to display what Iâd like to consider my growth, even in writing Lupin, Iâll leave it at linking my AO3 compilation post, and then showing a small excerpt of something from my Lupin blog that I havenât finished yet. My Lupin is terribly rusty, but thatâs what I get for my frequent breaks.
There is not much certainty in how this happened, this attachment. Perhaps it had been searched for, perhaps it had been destined. Fated encounters, meticulously planned meetings⌠regardless of how things began, thereâs no denying the fact that it is because of him that things could work out.
It is because of them that everything has worked out so far. Lupin has found every member of their team pivotal in their plans. They all bring something to the table; making it so the great gentleman thief can accomplish even more.
A man of the streets, a harbinger of justice, taking from the corrupt so that the swept aside may, perhaps, have hope in the world. Tirelessly he decides to work, late nights amount to all this. The rescue of a young lady in distress, one who deserved to live as what sheâs always had in her, human.
Thereâs so much more to them than just being a band of misfit thieves fighting for her truth and whatâs right. Thereâs so more to them than just trying to save
There is no chance of them failing. There is no way they wonât have people to come back to.
About a month after I began writing Lupin, I decided to pick up Victor Frankenstein. Us CR rpers were talking, you see, and we wanted to interact with a Fran, but there existed none. My love for the sweet alchemist came out, and I rolled up my sleeves and I decided to write him myself. I moved Lupin to his own blog the next month.
Fun enough, I didnât make Impeyâs blog until a year after I made Fran. I think Iâm rather known for my love for bouncy red-heads, and I have referenced my work on Impeyâs blog more often than not, but he, initially, hadnât been my priority. Itâs messy when I say this, but my âfavoriteâ Code:Realize boy has never been clear. At some point, I think I said it was Lupin, at another, Impey. I tend to say itâs Fran now.Â
Anyway, I love these boys, a lot.Â
Iâd like to think Iâm more comfortable writing Fran too, now, from where I was when I started writing him in January 2016. A fairly... comparable example is this AUÂ thread, which Iâm currently working through reviewing so I can write a fic based off a cleaner version (itâs got a lot of work to do..!).
He clicks on the light and puts on his glasses, watching his shaky hands, in hopes of stabilizing them, in hopes of reminding himself that that is the past, and the now, should hopefully be better. At least, he wishes it would be. Deep breathes he forces himself to take, and once he steadies out enough, he writes in his journal yet another log. Even if he wants to better the world now, he must never forget what stains him, he canât let himself abandon it.
More likely than not, his light-brown hair will once again be matted from hours -- days -- of focus, work, stress. Already has fate played him deeply, but within the grip of his cycle of grief and faux hope, Issac Beckford, the guide of Londonâs amazing advancements, extended his hand, promising Victor sanity, safety, and the tiniest of reparation for his great sins.
Alchemy is supposed to help people, his thoughts circle around as this as he decides to just rise early for the day. No use trying to sleep again, when he knows what plague is in store. He dresses, heading over to his personal lab, provided by Issac to give him the space he needed, and seclusion he thought he deserved. He turns on the circulation so that the fumes donât ruin him, and puts on a mask so the reactions donât crumble him, and his green eyes glaze over his work, watching the fizzing, the bubbling, the spilling.
Code:Realize really helped motivate me in writing. I rpâd before it; I wrote fanfics before it. But I really picked up more after working with the rpers of that fandom.Â
A few of the people I met there are some of my closest friends now! They mean so, so much to me. We entered into other rp fandoms together (collectively, Collar x Malice, but also Ozmafia and FE!), but naturally, things were not tied to solely rp. We yell about otoge together, we fuel each other to go pushing forward. They help keep me company during some of my shakiest moments.Â
I hope we can stay friends, even longer.Â
I want to continue improving in my writing. I want to keep writing. Iâve been focusing more on my OCs recently, and on series that arenât CR, but I still adore it to pieces. Itâs simply special to me. The world, the story, the characters, all of them inspired me to keep moving.Â
Because of CR, I gained much more footing in my interest in otoge (I played Norn9 before CR, but CR is the one that stuck with me, more than Hakuouki too. Iâm not even certain I finished the entirety of Hakuouki before CR). Now, Iâm an absolute fool with a huge backlog (but Iâm happy!). Otoge, Iâd say, really gave me something to ground myself in. Iâve always loved reading. Iâve been writing for years. But the inspiration that Iâve gotten from otoge is outstanding.Â
I think CR is one of the games that also helped settle in some of my current favorite seiyuu too.Â
CR may not be âcategoricallyâ my favorite, but itâs important to me, to who I am now. I remember the day I bought the game. A few weeks after launch, I found a pre-owned copy at a GameStop, and I bought it with the money I got for my birthday. What was pretty much a birthday present changed a lot!! Code:Realize is just so, so important to me! Â
If you read this little (long) love ramble, thank you. I really love to talk about my interests, and I know I donât get into specifics of characters and why the three that are so difficult to distinguish bias between are my faves (although, if you think about it, they may still reflect well on my types...). I think being able to talk about Collar x Malice a bit made me want to do this more, even if if just seems like a bunch of chatter.Â
Everyone, I sincerely hope you will continue to support my writing, my love for otoge, and myself.Â
#roasted and toasted (and not boasted!) even lizlow's gotta give a lowdown; rambles#whoo this is messy but check it (i'm emotional)

Hi! May I please have a Hux x reader Modern au where heâs a serious, high powered executive and reader is a kindergarten teacher. Maybe they meet when sheâs taking her class on a field trip to a museum and one of the children bumps into Hux. Or in a coffee shop. Something cute at any rate. Thank you!! Your writing is incredible
Mun: Yes you may, thank you for asking
You noticed him the second you entered the grand hall. He stood apart from the crowd around the reception desk, aloof. The gentleman tugged his suit jacket closed masking the vest underneath. Tall, refined and handsome. If you had time you would be gawking at the man across the room, but a passing glance was more than enough to take him in. A large group of small children was your task to manage for now. A pair boys ran to the center of the main room and then in circles around the largest presented exhibit. There were more so excited to be out of the classroom than by the museum of space and science itself. You called after them in a firm request to rejoin the group; the other chaperones busy dressing tiny wrists in neon bracelets. Upon the demand they came bounding in a beeline back for you and in turn trampled into the imposing business man.
Hurriedly you trotted over to the man to correct the young childrens wrong. The boys had run off again before you had the chance to wrangle them. âIâm very sorry about that sir.â
His hand dropped from his ear as he ended a call. âNo trouble.â His voice was just as straight and stern as he looked. âIâm sure you canât promise it wonât happen again. You have your hands full.â
âThatâs an understatement. Though I could possibly assume the same about you.â You lauged your situation off. Feild trips were stressful, but the kids enjoyed them too much for you to complain.
âDonât let the suit fool you MsâŚ?â He waited for your name before continuing.
â(F/N)â
âRight. Ms (F/N). I can be busy, however, I have assistants for most of my tasks.â He ran a hair though the front of his ginger hair, readjusting it to slick back from the disheveling it suffered under his earlier bump.
âAs do I, for today at least.â
He smiled at your joke.
You felt a tugging at your arm. One of your shyer girl students was pulling on your purse to get your attention. âCan I help you Nat-â Â You cut yourself off. The girlâs last tug must have been harder than anticipated for your strap suddenly snapped at the junction. The entirety of your purse had spilled out onto the floor. You droped to your knees and started gathering the items. Soft sobs came from little Natalie. âNo, no sweetie itâs alright. Iâm not mad.â You tried to reach for the girlâs hand but she was already running off. So much for consoling her. You hoped one of the other mothers could handle her.
When you turned your attention back to your scattered possessions you saw that the businessman was also on his knees, helping in the collecting. âThank you.â you breathed with as much gratitude you could muster. âYou really donât have to.â
He shook his head and dumped a heaping handful of things back into your bag. âDonât fret over this. I couldnât just stand and watch.â
âThatâs kind of you.â
âYour expectations are too low Ms (F/N). This is called human decency.â His hand was held out to you with your phone.
You took it, your smile never having been bigger. âPerhaps you are right. May I have your name?â
The man continued to hold his hand out to you, offering help in rising from the floor. You gladly obliged the gesture. âArmitage Hux.â
Once standing you let go of his hands. They were cold and you remembered something your mother had said to you years ago about warm hearts. âAnd what is it you do Mr Hux?â
Hux brushed off his suit. âIâm one of the silent backers for this museum.â It wasnât the answer you were looking for but it was an interesting fact you were thrilled to learn.
You didnât speak to him much longer. Another man had come to retrieve him for a meeting and Hux politely excused himself. Not that you could have chatted more anyway. You were supposed to be working, watching your little ones. It was a hectic afternoon after that, but one well worth it. Once back on the bus to school you took your phone out of your purse. Four times you tried to unlock it before you realized that this was in fact NOT your phone. You turned it over in your hands. It looked like your phone. That is except for the absence of a small smiley face sticker one of your students had stuck to the back. You leaned over to one of the moms across the aisle. This mom was obviously exhausted and suffering from a headache. You asked to borrow her phone and no objections arose. You tried calling your phone, but there was no answer. Again you tried, leaving a message this time. Then you tried the Museum front desk. They had not found any lost phones. On your way home you made up your mind that considering tomorrow was a Saturday you would go to your provider and report the problem. It had occurred to you that this might have been Huxâs phone but you werenât sure until you got a call later that evening. You recognized the unsaved number as your own. You didnât hesitate to answer and immediately recognized the voice of the handsome gentleman.
âIt is now my turn to apologise Ms (F/N). I must say it is a good thing that you do not lock your phone.â
You were so relived the thought of him rummaging through your personal things on it didnât bother you. âYes, and Iâd be most thrilled to have it back as soon as possible if you donât mind.â
âUnfortunately I do mind. I have several things I need to attend to tomorrow before I can meet you.â The voice that came through the speaker did hold a twinge of hurt.
âOh.â You didnât really know how to take that one. âOn a Saturday?â
âYes. As a teacher I can see how that would be a foreign concept to you.â
âI, umm.. Well when can we swap. Donât you need the one I have?â
âNot desperately. I still have my work phone. However should you need to make a call you may use mine.â He then gave you the password, making sure you wrote it down. âPerhaps if you are free tomorrow night you will allow me to take you out. I feel I need to make this inconvenience up to you somehow.â
How could you refuse?
Mun: Hope they have a nice first date ;3

Madeleinehad been amidst dancing with a young, lively man when suddenly themusic had come to a sudden halt, effectively stopping everyone intheir tracks. Heads were turning and quiet gasps filled the ballroomimmediately. In the span of a mere minute people moved away from thedance floor, forming a sort of pathway for the three new guests.Madeleine frowned, standing on her tiptoes in a fable attempt tocatch a glimpse of these apparent royals, from the treatment theywere receiving. That was when a strong grip pulled her to the frontof the row. Now she stood amidst her two best friends, Mi-Hi Cha andMĂŠlodie Carpentier. While Madeleine had known Mi-Hi since her moveto Korea at the age of eleven, MĂŠlodie had joined their friendsgroup rather recently. Yet, a deep bond had formed between the threewomen, especially Madeleine and MĂŠlodie. There was not a thoughtunshared between these three women, no matter this situation.Obviously, such a grand entrance had to be discussed as well, albeitin hushed tones.
âSomeroyals I must know ofâ, Madeleine asked, turning to her Koreanfriend, as she generally knew better when it came to gossip. âWell, youâre not that far off. All of them are rather close in line for thethrone, but even without the title they are influential andridiculously wealthy.â You snorted a laugh. âReally?â Mi-Hinodded. âThe one on the right, his name is Jihyun Kim and the womanon the right is his fiancĂŠ, Rika Choi.â Upon second glance theblonde looked even more stuck up and arrogant than Madeleine hadfirst assumed. Her face was a constant mask looking as if she had anunpleasant smell in her nose. There was also something about her eyesthat seemed rather wicked. Especially seeing the way she looked atthe man in the middle when she was supposed to be Mr. Kimâs fiancĂŠe.âAnd who is the poor, miserable sod in the middle?â Mi-Hi huffed.âMiserable he might be but poor he certainly is not. His name isJumin Han. He earns multiple thousand mun a year and owns half ofSeoul.â Madeleine couldnât help but chuckle at that. Obviously hisfortune didnât make him any happier. âWhich one, the miserablehalf?âÂ
The two women were just laughing when the threearistocrats passed them. While Mi-Hi managed to contain herself,Madeleine barely did so, looking up midst snicker only to catch themans eyes on her. Despite her quickly catching herself and the politecurtsy she made, Mr. Han seemed unimpressed first glaring at herbefore quickly looking away. As the man seemed to focus his attentionon anything but her, Madeleine couldnât help the laugh that bubbledup inside of her. Luckily the heavy silence was soon broken by themusic starting up once more. With a sigh of relief the three womenreturned to their dancing until it was their turn to be introduced tothe new guests. The introduction was brief and left Madeleine with afoul taste in her mouth. Everything from the way Mr. Han looked ather to the way Miss Rika, as she preferred to be called, looked atMr. Han seemed off to some extend or the other. Her assumptions wereproven correct when later that same evening she overheard Mr. Kim andMr. Han talking about the women present. While Mr. Kim wasnothing but friendly and polite, even saying as much as how beautifulhe found MĂŠlodie in particular, Mr. Han had nothing but cold wordsto share. He said that he was in no way interested in any of thewomen in here, that none of them were pretty enough to peek hisinterest and even went as far as calling MĂŠlodie âtoo exoticâ afterMr. Kim had just complimented her. When he mentioned Miss Rika andhow she was the only good looking woman at the dance Madeleinecouldnât help but roll her eyes. The dynamic of that friendshipseemed off. Were they having an affair? But had he not just said hefound no interest in women? Maybe he was gay? Who knew. âWhat aboutMiss Campbell? I saw you stealing glances at her.â Madeleine beamedwith pride for a brief moment. She did not care for the mansjudgement, but knowing that she was desirable still soothed her ego. That was until Mr. Han opened his mouth to correct his friend. âItmust have been the intense colour of her hair catching my eye. She isfar too simple minded for my taste and in no way attractive enough topeek my interest.â Madeleine huffed. Well, she did not care for theman either!
â
âMissMadeleine, let us take a turn about the roomâ, Miss Rika suggested, tearing the womanâs eyes away from her book. Madeleine was in no waynaĂŻve and knew that Miss Rika had some sort of ulterior motive. Eversince Madeleine came to Mr. Kimâs estate where her best friendMĂŠlodie was sweating out her horrible cold the woman had never oncebeen sincere about any of her seemingly innocent or kind words. Therewas always a tone of sarcasm and superiority laced within them thatput Madeleine off. However, she knew better than to disappoint. Onebest fought such people by playing along with their silly mind games. So she closed her book and got up where Miss Rika instantly got holdof her arm, laced it with hers and the two of them began their walk.âWill you not join us, Mr. Darcy?â Madeleine smirked to herself, holding back on shaking her head at the womanâs words. âYou canonly have two motives, Rika and I would interfere with eitherâ, Mr.Han replied, not even looking up from the letters he was writingswiftly.
Oncemore Madeleine would have enjoyed to laugh. While Miss Rikaâsadvances were understood they were completely shut down by the man.It was amusing, to say the least. âWhat can he meanâ, Miss Rikaasked in faux surprise. Madeleine was not interested in playing alongthis time. âOur surest way of disappointing him will be to ask himnothing about itâ, she replied. That was when Mr. Han looked up andfor a brief moment their eyes locked, Madeleine smirking at himbefore looking away. Miss Rika obviously noticed, trying to redirectthe attention to her by breaking the pleasant silence once more: âButdo tell us, Mr. Darcy.â As expected Mr. Han barely acknowledgedher, scarcely looking up from his work. However, as he did, it wasalways in Madeleineâs direction and it would have been a lie to saythat she was not please. For however little she liked him the moreshe enjoyed the fact that it was her catching his eye and not MissRika whom so unbashfully made advances at him with her dear fiancĂŠestill in the room. Madeleine had never wish for a union to fall apartas much as she wished for theirs to do as much.
Herthoughts were interrupted by Mr. Hanâs surprising words.âEither youare in each otherâs confidence and have secret affairs to discuss, oryou are conscious that your figures appear to the greatest advantageby walking. If the first, I should get in your way. If the second, Ican admire you much better from here.â Madeleine snickered. âAhyes, a womanâs job; to be admired by a man.â On the couch Mr. Kimwas stifling a laugh while Miss Rika â whoâd stopped beside Mr. Hanâ looked positively bewildered by Madeleines comment. She quicklycaught herself, of course, once she noted that Mr. Hanâs attentionswere directed and Madeleine once more. âWell, it seems the onlything Mr. Han admires is writing those tedious business letters. Howodious I should think them. Donât you agree, Miss Madeleine?âMadeleine whoâd once more seated herself in the couch to continue herbook looked up from the beautiful words, meeting the womanâs awaitingeyes. âI fear I find myself disagreeing. I quite enjoy writingletters, even letters of business.â Miss Rika frowned. âWhen didyou have occasion to write such letters?âÂ
Madeleine smiledto herself, closing her eyes for the briefest of moments to regaincomposure. Yes, women like Miss Rika did not know they joys ofworking for yourself. Everything in her life was done for her andeven the faintest of independence scared her. âSince quite a youngage Iâve helped my father with his business. I consider myself anemployee, even. Writing letters was one of my earliest tasks as myfather considered my handwriting to be much more readable andpleasant to the eyeâ, Madeleine explained, Miss Rikaâs eyeswidening with every of her words. âThat sounds rather accomplishedto meâ, Mr. Kim said, smiling at her in his usual, friendly manner.âI would have liked to agree with you, Mr. Kim, but from thediscussion we shared earlier on that very topic I can no longer say Iam. Too much of my energy was invested in making a living instead ofembroidering cushions and table painting. However, know that MissRika and Mr. Han have educated me on what an accomplished woman hasto be like, I shall practice those skills at once. Hopefully one dayIâll be able to call myself truly accomplished so that Mr. Han mayknow more than just half a dozen accomplished women.
â
WhenMadeleine had agreed to dance with Mr. Han it had been mostly out ofsurprise and a certain curiosity. Last time heâd found her notinteresting enough to dance, despite her having hinted at wanting apartner, and now he was asking her. She wanted to know the reason forsuch a change in heart. Not to mention the opportunity to spark aconversation about Mr. Ryu, whom heâd reacted to strangely to. Atfirst their conversation was polite, overly so. Both of them knewthey were avoiding what they really wanted to talk about. âDo youtalk, as a rule, while dancingâ, Mr. Han asked, giving Madeleinethe opportunity for a little jab. âNo⌠No, I prefer to beunsociable and taciturn⌠Makes it all so much more enjoyable, donâtyou think?â Luckily, it was Mr. Han who brought up their walk intotown so Madeleine merely had to reply and thereby decide the courseof the conversation. âYes, we often walk to town. Itâs a greatopportunity to meet new people. In fact, when you met us, weâd justhad the pleasure of forming a new acquaintance.â
Mr.Hanâs facade never quite fell, but Madeleine could see it crumblingbehind his eyes and she wondered what had caused such distaste. âMrRyuâs blessed with such happy manners, as may ensure his makingfriends. Whether he is capable of retaining them, is less certain.ââHeâs been so unfortunate as to lose your friendship. I dare saythat is an irreversible eventâ, Madeleine instantly returned, thetwo of them dancing around one another in both the literal as well asfigurative way. âIt is. Why do you ask such a question?â Had hejust sounded irritated? No, Madeleine must have been mistaken. âTomake out your characterâ, she replied, looking directly into hiseyes, so close now the energy coursing between them could have beentouched. âWhat have you discovered?â Theyâd come to a completehalt then, instead facing each other in the middle of the dance floorlike a challenge. âVery little. I hear such different accounts ofyou as puzzle me exceedingly.â It was then that Mr. Han suddenlycaught himself, starting up their dance once more but never oncetaking his eyes off Madeleine. âI hope to afford you more clarityin the future.â
â
Madeleinehad been in church when sheâd heard of what Mr. Han had done.Frankly, despite her better judgement, she found herself hurt andsurprised. Madeleine could not have said when their conversationsstarted to change from cold and distant to somewhat familiar and fun, even. Suddenly the jabs were no longer with any heat behind them thatwas meant to hurt but for both their amusement. They talked likefriends instead of distant acquaintances and their looks lingeredjust a moment too long for them to be purely platonic. Yet, neitherof them was ready to admit to any such feelings. In fact, Madeleinehad sworn to herself to never find a liking in that man and yetsomewhere along the way she had. Which made his betrayal all theworse. The fact that heâd purposefully taken away Mr. Kim in order toprevent MĂŠlodie and him getting to know and appreciate each otherbetter would have been just a little understandable had it been withMr. Kimâs reputation in mind. However, Madeleine knew better than toassume as much. His actions had all been with Miss Rikaâs benefit inmind and that thought infuriated her.
Aftermass, Madeleine just wanted to leave. Despite the heavy rain shefound herself running, more than willing to face a month tied to bedin order to avoid seeing Mr. Han. Little had she known that heâd beenfollowing her through the rain, surprising her when he made himselfknown. âMiss Madeleine. I have struggled in vain and I can bear itno longer. These past months have been a torment. I came to visit myfather with the single object of seeing you⌠I had to see you. Ihave fought against my better judgment, my familyâs expectations, theinferiority of your rank due to your insistence to work alongsideyour father and circumstance. All these things I am willing to putaside and ask you to end my agony.â Madeleine froze, staring at theman with wide eyes as the cold rain caused her body to shiver. âIdonât understandâ, she replied, arms wrapped around her body. âIlove you. Most ardently. Please do me the honour of accepting myhand.â That is when Madeleine realized that the cold had verylittle to do with her shiver. Sheâd merely predicted those words andher body had recoiled. âSir, I appreciate the struggle you havebeen through, and I am very sorry to have caused you pain. Believeme, it was unconsciously done.â
âIsthis your reply?â His gentle demeanour dropped, leaving thefamiliar cold and irritation behind. âYes, Sir.â He steppedcloser and surprising herself, Madeleine copied his move instead oftaking a step back. âAre you⌠are you laughing at me?âMadeleine swallowed, never once looking away as she denied as much.âAre you rejecting me?â  To ask with such shock in hisvoice almost made Madeleine laugh. âIâm sure that the feelingswhich, as youâve told me have hindered your regard, will help you inovercoming it.â Once more he stepped closer and Madeleine swallowedyet refused to budge. âMight I ask why, with so little endeavour atcivility, I am thus repulsed?â The audacity of that man! âAnd Imight as well enquire why, with so evident a design of insulting me,you chose to tell me that you liked me against your better judgment.âHe tried to apologize, his composure faltering for the briefest ofmoments, but Madeleine would not hear a word of it.
âDoyou deny it, Mr.Han? That you separated a young couple who could haveloved each other given the chance, exposing your friend to thecensure world of caprice and my friend to derision anddisappointed hopes, involving them both in acute misery of the worstkind? Only a fool would ignore Miss Rikaâs indifference towards herfiancĂŠe. She has nothing but status in mind, completely unashamed inher advances on you and yet when someone sincere came around thatcould have made your friend happy, you separated them. Do you denyit?â At least he had the mind to look ashamed. âI do not denyit.â When Madeleine inquired his reason for doing as much she couldnot believe her ears. âIobserved them most carefully and realized his attachment was fardeeper than hers. Jihyun has been hurt by Rika more than enough andthe last thing he needs is another woman with too little interest inhis heartâ, heâd replied. âMĂŠlodie, sheâs shy! She hardly showsher true feelings to me and Mi-Hi. Not to mention that she is not yetfluent in Korean and therefor remains quiet a lot.â
âAndwhat about Mr. Ryuâ, Madeleine asked after a moment of silence. What excuse can you give for your behaviour toward him? He told ofhis misfortunes and yet you treat him with sarcasm.â It was thatstatement that somehow seemed to anger Mr. Han, although Madeleinewas not sure why that was. âSo this is your opinion of me? Thankyou. Perhaps these offences might have been had your pride not beenhurt by scruples about our relationship. Am I to rejoice in theinferiority of your circumstances?â Madeleine gasped, her anger nowmatching his. âAnd those are the words of a gentleman? From themoment I met you your arrogance and conceit and your selfish disdainfor the feelings of other made me realize that you are the last manin the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.â At thispoint Mr. Han and Madeleine were so close to one another they seemedto be sharing the same breath. He bend further even and for a momentMadeleine was sure heâd steal a kiss, once more surprising herself bynot moving away. Of course no such thing happened.âForgive me,madam, for taking up so much of your timeâ, he said instead beforeleaving her behind feeling strangely empty.
Madeleinetold herself that she was not interested in his wealth or hisdepressive side of Seoul. He was a selfish, cold man with nothinggoing for him other than his wealth and she would rather remain alonely maid for the rest of her life than marry him. For long sheâdbeen so sure of herself and her opinion. That was until sheâdfinished the letter heâd brought over in a hurry explainingeverything. Madeleine had spent hours upon hours reading andre-reading it, internalizing his words. As he explained his disputewith Mr.Ryu and how itâd come to it. It broke Madeleines heart tohear such things and even more so when she realized sheâd trusted thewrong man all along while judging the innocent so harshly. Sheâdstopped reading for a moment then, considering all the shamefulthings sheâd said and feeling as rotten as she deserved. When shepicked the letter back up it was to words of apology and a sincereproblem to make up for what heâd wronged. By the time Mi-Hi returnedhome she found Madeleine sitting by the fire, tears glistening in hereyes. He was not the one who should apologize. It was her.
â
Thenext time Madeleine so much as heard of Mr. Han was through news ofher dearest friend MĂŠlodie. Apparently Mr. Han had convinced Mr.Kimof the mistake he was making in denying himself a happy future out ofthe obligations he felt towards Miss Rika. Not only that but heâdmade sure to help his friend in proposing to her surprised friend aswell as paying for the quick but according to MĂŠlodie beautifulwedding. Heâd also apparently talked about Madeleine a lot and onlyin the most positive ways possible. It made her feel warm inside andyet that shame and rotten feeling never quiet died down. Especiallynot when in the middle of the night there was a bang on the door, waking up Madeleines entire family and staff in the process. By thetime sheâd gotten herself out of bed â red hair a mess and sleepinggown out of place â Lady Glam Choi had already made her way insideof the house, making her anger and disgust obvious despite using veryfew words. It was really quite interesting, really, how she wascapable of such a thing.
Sheasked everyone to leave the room as she wanted to speak to Madeleinealone, which confused the younger woman. What on earth could thiswoman possibly want from her, let alone in the middle of the night? From her aggravated state it could only mean bad things. Of courseMadeleine was proven wrong as the old hag began cursing her to helland back, insulting every fiber of her being and throwing accusationsaround the room Madeleine had not even heard of before. Apparentlywhen MĂŠlodie had mentioned Mr. Han talking about her in positivelights sheâd failed to mention the rumours of their engagementcirculating along with his words. Madeleine attempted to explain toLady Glam Choi that she had, in no way, so much as heard of suchrumours let alone started and spread them herself, but the woman wasbeyond comprehension, it seemed. Madeleine was about to lose her calmentire and snap at the woman when she mentioned her sister and thefact that she was apparently engaged to be married to Mr. Hanhimself. It most certainly changed things, but not enough toMadeleine to budge. Mr. Han would never have asked her to marry himwithout the intention of going through, which could only mean thatthe engagement had been fabricated against his will. Strangelyenough, it gave Madeleine a sort of hope.
âNow tell me onceand for all: Are you engaged to him?â Madeleine swallowed, overwhelmed by the sadness that suddenly consumed her at the thoughtsof her following words. âI am notâ, she whispered. âAnd willyou promise never to enter into such an engagementâ, Lady Glam Choiinquired once more. Had her tone not been as judgemental, Madeleinemight have reacted more politely. âI will not and I certainly nevershall. You have insulted me in every possible way, and can now havenothing further to sayâ, she replied, walking towards the door andripping it open, revealing the entire staff and family standing thereand listening in. Not that she cared in that moment. I must ask youto leave immediately. Good night.â The woman gaped and huffed, angrily storming outside the room and towards the exit. âI havenever been thus treated in my entire lifeâ, were her parting wordsand Madeleine found herself strangely silent. That conversation was alot to take in for the young woman, especially after all the newthings sheâd heard over the course of the last week she could notfully comprehend yet. Madeleine had been sure that sheâd never crosspaths with anyone related to Mr. Han again, but fate obviously hadmore in store for them and Madeleine was ready to face it.
â
Evenhours after returning back to bed Madeleine had not been capable offalling asleep. Her entire body seemed to be buzzing with somethingakin excitement and nervousness at the very same time. She tried tosleep multiple times but gave up entirely when she heard the firstbirds sing their song outside her window. With a sigh she got up anddressed herself to go for a quick walk, nothing more. Maybe the freshair would soothe the turmoil inside her, allowing her to finally restin peace. Sheâd been walking through the grass heavy with nicelysmelling morning dew for about half an hour when she heard movementfrom before her. Upon lifting her head Madeleine was surprised to seeMr. Han approaching her, breathtakingly beautiful as ever. His linenblouse was unbuttoned just enough to reveal parts of his bare, strongchest as his long, black coat swayed openly with his movements andthe breeze. Madeleineâd breath got caught in her throat and shebarely dared to breathe nor speak. As he finally stood beforeher the distance between the two of them seemed to close almost onitâs own. They stepped close to one another, leaving only enoughspace between them as to not touch. Once more neither of them wascapable of sparking the conversation as the thoughts in their mindsseemed to overwhelm them each. Eventually, it was Madeleine who spokeup, voicing the first thought that somehow managed to fall past herlips. âI couldnât sleepâ, she whispered, a small smile curlingabout her lips which was mirror by his. âNo, so I heard. Lady GlamChoiâŚâ, he spoke, quickly interrupted by Madeleine. âYes, shewas here.â She knew it was impolite to interrupt, but that womanwas the last thing she wanted to talk or think about during suchprecious moment. âHow could I ever make amends for such pain?âMadeleine looked up from the ground, eyes wide with surprise. âAfterwhat you have done for MĂŠlodie it is I who should be making amends.âMr. Han stepped even closer there, so much so that she could feel hiswarm breath ghosting over her cheek. âYou must knowâŚsurely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous totrifle with me. I believe you spoke with Lady Glam Choi last night, and it has taught me to hope as Iâd scarcely allowed myself beforeâ,he said, their eyes locked the entire time. âIf your feelings arestill what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affectionsand wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence meforever.â There was a short pause, giving Madeleine the opportunityto speak her part, send him away if she so wished. When nothing camethe small smile returned to the mans face and he continued. âIf,however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: youhave bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. AndI never wish to be parted from you from this day on.â Madeleinetook his hand into hers, lifting it to her lips and pressing a kissto the cold skin. âVery wellâ, she whispered, smiling hopefullyat the man before he. He returned the smile, eyes glistening withsomething that could have been tears as he leaned forward to resttheir foreheads together, completing the perfection of their tendermoment together.
â
Asthey stood beside one another, looking upon the estate that both ofthem now finally called home Madeleine mindlessly rubbed he hand upand down her husbands back, eager to touch and hold and feel now thathe was irrevocably hers as she was his. Jumins gaze turned from theflickering lights on the water darkened by the night and to his wife, smiling at her the way heâd never dreamed heâd get the opportunityto. He turned to her, taking in all the beautiful that she had tooffer. âHow are you this evening, my dearâ, he asked, brushing aloose lock from her tender face. âVery well⌠although I wish youwould not call me my dearâ, she replied, earning herself achuckle from her husband. âWhy is that?â Madeleine shrugged, hands mindlessly playing with the hem of his blouse. âBecause itâswhat my father always calls my mother when heâs cross aboutsomething.â
âWhatendearments am I allowed thenâ, he asked in return. Madeleinehummed in thought. âWell let me thinkâŚMaddy for every day,my love for Sundays, andâŚGoddess Divine⌠but onlyon very special occasionsâ, she replied, chuckling at the lastpart. âAnd⌠what should I call you when I am cross? Mrs. Han?âMadeleine quickly shook her head. âNo! No. You may only call meMrs. Han⌠when you are completely, and perfectly, andincandescently happy.â Jumin reached out for her then, cupping herface with his hand, holding it so delicately as if it were the mostprecious of treasures in the world. The chuckle he gave was thesweetest of sounds and it melted Madeleines heart every single timeshe got to hear it. âThen how are you this evening⌠Mrs. Han?âHe caressed her cheek, bending forward to press a kiss to Madeleinesforehead. Her eyes fell shut, both her hands coming to rest on thepart of his chest that was bared to her, right above his heart. âMyMr. Hanâ, he whispered before finally closing the distance betweenthem once and for all, sealing the moment with a kiss.
A/N: for obvious reasons some of the plot-points and stuff had to be changed. However, I tried to keep the charm and feeling of the original alive and did use some of my favourite dialogue from the movie in here.Â

This Ingredient is the Fountain of Youth
Dry skin is my least favorite thing. It makes your makeup caky and weird. The skin flakes off and the texture just isnât as smooth. It can also lead to premature aging in the form of lines, wrinkles and lack of plumpness.
One of the best things you can do for your skin is to keep it constantly hydrated. Itâs logical, the more water you give your skin, the plumper it is. Think of your skin like a grape. What happens when that grape doesnât receive water anymore? It shrivels up and turns into a prune. Bleh.
While visiting Dr. Barbara Sturm a few weeks ago, she talked to me about one of her favorite ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid: âIt aids in storing water under your skin. It [Hyaluronic Acid] takes in so much water, which of course is very important for hydration. I put it in every product. I think people are afraid of it because they hear âacidâ but itâs not an aggressive acid.â
Since trying her line, I began to realize the benefits of this turning-back-the-clock ingredient. From makeup to skincare to ingestibles, these are some of my favorite products that contain significant amounts of Hyaluronic Acid.
Munâs Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner
When I sit at my computer researching and writing for long periods of time, I like to keep something hydrating nearby to spray on my face every so often. Munâs Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner is my current obsession. The smell is really lovely, but not overtly rosy. Itâs super cooling and helps to balance the skinâs pH, aka calm the skin. Itâs made with Hyaluronic Acid and natural Salicylic Acid, which remove dead cells for that healthy G-l-O-W.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606001570741383794â)); Suntegrity 5-in-1 Tinted Sunscreen
This lightly tinted beauty balm is part SPF, part cream. It treats, hydrates, protects, primes and covers the skin. Itâs supercharged with youth-promoting antioxidants that help scavenge surface free radicals. Hyaluronic acid, astaxanthin, red algae, aloe vera, jojoba, sunflower, pomegranate, cucumber, and green tea help provide additional sun protection and hydration. Boom.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606001773716399021â)); Fountain: The Hyaluronic Molecule
Drink your way to better skin? Oh yes. This supplement is your ticket, in the form of a shot. This formula (that your bf/husband can use too!) is packed with Hyaluronic Acid that holds 1000 times its weight in water to plump your complexion, brighten your eyes and keep the body lubricated.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606002057266430738â)); By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder
This colorless powder should be the last step in your makeup routine. Why? Well it controls oiliness, covers up any imperfections and hydrates. Itâs blended with Hyaluronic Acid and silica microbeads to minimize fine lines and wrinkles and keep makeup in place. It also protects your skin from the gross stuff flying around in the air. Pure magic.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606003337664848305â)); Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Ampoules
Dr. Barbara Sturm is clearly the H acid expert. This powerful anti-aging treatment contains an active complex of short and long-chained hyaluronic acid to provide both immediate and long-term effect. Itâs one of my new essentials that Iâm going to use every season.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606002209033461757â)); Tata Harper Moisturizing Mask
I like this mask because you can sleep in it. Plus, no hydrating list is complete without Tata. This rose-scented master is saturated with hyaluronic acid to replenish dehydrated skin. It also helps your skin lock in moisture in the future, so you can develop that lit-from-within glow.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606003195026807809â)); Verso Hand Serum
Perfect for anyone concerned about aging on their hands (arenât we all?), Versoâs serum is formulated with Retinol 8 and hyaluronic acid to plump and perfect. The texture is light and creamy and it absorbs super quickly, too. I keep this guy by my bed.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606002396128227241â)); Zelens Lip Enhancer
This lip treatment is bomb. It adapts to your unique pH to hydrate your lips, giving them definition and natural color. It gives off the perfect shade of rosy pink that I would say is universally flattering. You really canât go wrong with a pinky lip for the daytime.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606002528595249605â)); 111SKIN Meso Infusion Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin C Micro Mask x 4
111SKINâs is infused with hyaluronic acid to plump fine lines and diminish wrinkles, as well as antioxidant Vitamin C. The small size makes them perfect for travel. For the worldâs best sheet mask, itâs a toss up between this and Sk-IIâs. Try them both and let me know which one is your fave.
(function (widgetId) { try { var b = document.createElement(âscriptâ); b.type = âtext/javascriptâ; b.src = â//static.bam-x.com/bam_box/â + widgetId + â/bamBox.â + widgetId + â.jsâ; b.async = true; var a = document.getElementsByTagName(âscriptâ)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(b, a); } catch (e) {} }(â1606002699450348047â)); Image of Doutzen Kroes and Amber Valletta for Vogue Ukraine June 2017 by Chris Colls.
