genuinely, babs is kind of like having a dangerous, man-eating, doll shaped and eldritch, puppy-bear clown around. no thoughts, head empty. heart emptier. babylas loves in the same way children love their favorite plushies. which, that isn't to say there isn't true love there, just that there's a disconnect; babs sometimes forgets that living beings can hurt, or die. needs a reminder from time to time, you know ?

babylas ; (pronounced BA-BEE-LA) the "oldest" in age of the posse, for whatever that's worth. more elderitch than demon, and has a plushie body that acts as a container; hands for feet with articulated joints of a curious material, has an accordion in their midsection. roughly the same height as lazare without the accordion extension, but slouches most of the time; with the accordion extension, technically taller than constantin. likes to run on all fours. is a clown of few words but many laughs

and although unheeding of social conventions and human sensibilities, babylas is one of the most loyal in the troupe. has something of a pack mentality, so if you're in, you're good

because of lazare the whole troupe knows and uses sign, but in a mixture of languages. some of it is unique to them as a code language and you have to be around them often to pick up on it

notably, lazare isn't mute. he's nonverbal and learned sign over forced verbalizing

tbh get babylas someone who's needy and calls for their attention all the time. chant their name like a seance just to get cuddles. they'd adore it

babylas can go invisible to the naked eye — via planar shifting just so. they're likewise theoretically able to travel through recordings and all those kinds of horror classics. say their name three times and they just might appear

to add onto this however, it's not as if babs is oblivious, they just forget sometimes (as previously stated), or don't pick up on the subtler emotions. but babylas knows what's going on, when it's going on, in a general sense. but kind of like a fact they were told. for example, crying = bad and babs will absolutely scoop someone up and coo at them until they calm down, or try and get them to laugh instead
