🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

Hmmm writing this scene:

Thump, Thump.

My heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest. His eyes pin me to the floor, incapable of moving. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the blue dagger tail moving her head back and forth. It’s the gasp of the crowd that pulls me from Xaden’s gaze.

Thump, Thump.

The blues dragon takes a step down, and my squad parts make room for her. Her yellow eyes are looking directly at me as she takes another step forward. Dain’s face paled as he watched on, but its movement to my left caught my attention. Xaden moves from where he is standing. His face is unreadable. It’s the quaking step of the dragon in front of me, and my heart rate quickens as her yellow eyes take me in.

Thump, Thump, Thump

Despite the paralyzing fear, that I may very well die in the next few seconds I take in the creature before me. Her large horns curve on the top of her head. Her scales up close shimmer with various hues of blue and hints of black near the base of her scales, which makes her eyes stand out. Her nostrils flair, it feels like a challenge, as if she is begging for me to turn and run.

Thump, Thump, Thump.

I will not die today. I take a glance at where Dain is and spot Violet right beside him, terror on her face. She knows dragons better than I do, though I know enough, she knows my rate of survival is potentially slim here. I close my eyes and try to keep my breathing even. My heart erupting in my ears.

Thump, Thump, Thump.

I get down on my knees, my hands remaining at my sides. “What the fuck is she doing?” Jack Barlow’s voice carries over the silence that has fell amongst the court. No one else says a word as I bend forward lowering myself until my forehead touches the cool brick, the small grooves pressed against my skin. I close my eyes and I mentally recite different dance positions in my head trying to ease the fear.

Thump, Thump, Thump.

My breathing begins to even out when I feel the warm steam pressing against my neck. I take the risk and lift my head; the dragon nods her head. Is she giving me the okay to rise? Another dip of her head, and I slowly rise to my feet. As I do I meet her gaze once more, it’s just her and I, the world around us since forgotten. The dragon does something to my surprise, she cranes her neck where the tip of her snout touches the floor. She is bowing to me. The message is clear, a sign of mutual respect.

Thump, Thump.

She raises her head but keeps it low as she cranes her neck out for me. I cannot even see her eyes as she comes near and presses her snout to my chest. The chatter amongst the crowd is indistinguishable. I press my hand to her snout, her scales feel like leather under my touch, a smile forms on my cheeks, fear suddenly turning into elation. “Hello, Beautiful.” My voice was unable to reach above a whisper. She huffs in response and moves back to where she was perched before.

Adrenaline must be widdling from my body fast because I grip Ridoc’s shoulder tightly as my world tilts.

Thump, Thump.

I just survived my first encounter with a dragon.

Yes. As much as I don't enjoy it, I do read them. Mostly as a gauge of what I can improve on or how far I've come. It is important to do it even though reading it makes Me sometimes.

Look growing up probably all of them. The one i love most is soccer. The one I excelled in was swimming. I was very good at it from a young age and even made state finals as a teenager. Then I got to that age where I did not want to be perceived and I stopped. Kind of wish I didn’t but we move 🏊🏼‍♀️ Fun fact: my dream career as a kid was to be an Olympic swimmer 🏅

🤡 What’s the dumbest thing you’ve written?

So many deleted fics. So many. Of the current ones though, Trouble (AU in which Eddie has a sexuality crisis after meeting Buck for the first time lol) is possibly the silliest I've written lol.

🗑 What is one fic idea that you loved at first but then scrapped?

I have a doc specifically for things that I've cut from fics and there's only three things in it. One of which I think I put back in the fic it was cut from, one I have absolutely no memory of writing, and a third which I'll tell you about.

It's a nightmare scene cut from a fic involving an asexual Eddie Brock and meant to show some of what he went through figuring himself out and why he has issues with a relationship moving too quickly. I wasn't comfortable with where I took it in regards to where I wanted the fic to go after I wrote it. Though now I might shift that too and put an edited version of the nightmare back in? IDK this fic has been on the back burner for so long I might never actually finish it...

This is like asking me to pick my favorite child...

Right now I'd pick The Symbiote's Guide to the Galaxy. I feel like I nailed Eddie and Venom's relationship in it.

“Venom?” It would have been very easy to hyperventilate, so Eddie did his best not to.

Yes, Eddie?

“Did we get abducted by the fucking greys?” Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, easy. Just like he’d been doing his entire life.

There was a slick feeling as Venom paused their filtering to search for context in Eddie’s brain.

Of course not, those do not exist.

“Then what are--”

We were abducted by Piradians. Obviously, their tone implied.

“Oh, of course, what was I thinking?” Why couldn’t it have been a normal, human abduction? Why did Eddie have to be the one kidnapped by aliens?

You were mostly thinking about not breathing too much.

🤔 What’s one genre you’ve never written that you’d like to try?

Writing multichapter fanfiction!

But actually, in that vein, I'd like to write casefic. I just have no idea what crime/problem/mystery I'd have Eddie and Venom solve.

I've also kind of wanted to try my hand at more explicit fic? Mainly because some of my favorite smut has been written by other ace people and I just want to try it!

The two aren't mutually exclusive, but I think I should try one new thing at a time.

Posting it? Like people actually seeing it? Sometimes even sex scenes, depending on it. But mostly I'm good until I've posted it and then I'm embarrassed. So nothing specific in particular, just nervousness.

connecting the parts I already have clearly in my mind. Also to decide whose POV I'm gonna use and when to do time skips and when not. I do think a lot about those, if they don't come naturally ^^
