  Leo’s words stung him. For a moment, he had braced himself for the worst– after all, with tensions high in the army, clashing nations merged together into something that never seemed to quite mix… Hoshido and Nohr always had their differences, and he was no doubt a part of that, he knew that so much of the army tried it’s best to keep itself glued together, even if it felt like such was falling apart from the seam. 

  He knew that he would never be like a royal, nor would his life ever value the same as the one’s leading the troops. For everything he was, he just wanted to protect people, the people he cared for– in the process, jumping head first into a situation that caused more damage that he or anyone would have liked. But even if he got scolded for it, he didn’t regret such in the slightest… after all, he was thankful for the opportunity in the first place.

                                         ‘ Does there need to be a reason? ’

  Words blunt and firm, yet spoken with a sense of compassion. Even if he knew that the army wasn’t cut out for him, he had the resolve to see it through the end, even if it meant taking his last breath to fight for such a cause… maybe to some it was a petty reason, but it was enough for him to keep going.
